What can I do about my Dell computer? When the system locks, the music on music manager stops. It only starts when i restart the music.

Hi! Try using a scrren saver and then try opening the security panel pref and setting it to require password from screen saver. You can set the screen saver hot corner, put it in screen saver mode, walk away and then when you return it should require a password but still allow audio to run. Tom

Labview stops when computer is locked

We are running Labview 2011. After some time of no user interaction the computer is locked by Windows XP. Supposedly programs should be able to keep running while the computer is locked. My Labview code doesn't. Does anyone know what's going on?
The code I have controls a temperature chamber and some data multiplexere and acquires data from a frequency counter (all done through a RS-232 to USB adapter). This is logged to a .csv file every 10 or 15 minutes.

The first thing to look at is the OS power saving options. There is a global trend towards developing "Green" electronics and energy star ratings are getting fairly common. "If its not being used shut it off" is nothing new. Cavemen learned how to bank a fire to preserve energy that would otherwise be wasted. Likewise, the Windows OS has a power saving feature to shut down power to the USB hubs when no user activity is present. In Automated systems this feature can cause problems since removing USB hub power will shut down the USB device. Solution: Use the device manager to change the USB hub Power Options.
The really funny thing is the first time I posted this the OP turned out to be the contractor sitting next to me at the time.

Need help.
When I lock the MacBook Pro with by clicking the <User Name> --> Login Window, it stops the music if iTunes is playing. I am a DJ and would like to be able lock my computer if I am away from it while songs are playing on itunes or other music software. Is there a way to lock the computer? In windows I am able to lock the PC with the Windows + L key stroke and all music/sound functionality is running normally when locked. I have migrated to Mac Book Pro and would like to be able to do the same. Also, would like to know if there is a way to create a shotcut to lock the system too. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Music stops when displays sleeps or when i lock the screen on my 7th gen nano

When i am listening to my music on my newly purchased nano 7th generation, once the screen 'sleeps' or if I click on the lock key, the music pauses. I can't find anything to prevent this in settings. Please help.

Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Best option is to activate offline profile.
I've used my N91 8GB in parties as well, using the line out cable to hook up to my own stereo systems or my friend's and it's very cool.
What's even cooler is to get one of the bluetooth remotes so you can control playback remotly. One cheap way is to use Wiimote and the application (can't remember from the top of my head) to connect a wiimote to the phone and use the wiimote as a remote.

I have an Ipod nano 6th Gen, and when the screen goes to sleep the music stops. I have set up my sleep/wake button to play/pause so when the screen goes black and the music has stopped, I press the sleep/wake button twice and the music starts again without the screen coming back on. I have read other comments and I have made sure that my headphones are all the way there does not appear to be anything obstructing the headphones either. Is anyone able to help me? Thank you

I have tried everything I could to fix this, but some things require actually being on Firefox, and since I cannot get on, I cannot click on the tabs to do it. I have even totally uninstalled firefox, and that has not fixed this. I still get the same message that firefox is running and I need to close it or restart (which I have also tried dozens of times). I have removed things like Java, and that has not helped either. If I cannot even get on line in firefox, how can I fix this. Brand new iPod Touch 64GB iOS 4.1. When playing music and then launching an application (most of the time, Google mobile app), the music shuts off. Doesn't happen every time.

If you are playing music using the native iPod app then it will continue to play when other app is used. However, I do not know if the other app also play music what would happen. If your music is coming from an app like Pandora it will stop when another app is used. This is because the presently multitasking is limited to a few Ipod) native apps. The Nov 2010 iOS 4.2 update will add multitasking for third-part apps like Pandora.
