Nokia Musik Desktop Win 8?

I have two major issues with Nokia Music: 1. How can I set the path where Nokia is looking for music? It is all on a NAS so MyMusic is empty. 2. How can I log into my Nokia account which I use on my WinPhone. I think syncing is the point of using Nokia's desktop app. Help is greatly appreciated.

Have 2 computers - desktop(Win.7) & laptop(win.Vista) .  After recent updates Error messages - APSDaemon.exe MSVRC80.dll missing Windows Error 126 & Microsoft Visual C++Runtime Library Error R6034 and more...!   Have uninstalled (2x) same errors persist & NO iTunes!!!  Any simple advice to rectify or doesn't Apple want my custom?

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?

  • Lenovo H535 Desktop Win 8.1 USB 3.0 Disconnecting Issue

OK. I just bought this Lenovo H535 desktop in early September and this OS has been driving me CRAZY.  After spending well over a month and performing maybe 7 clean installations, I'm trying to get this stupid & worthless operating system to work correctly, I'm left with one issue(that I know of) I cannot resolve.
Now that I've upgraded Win 8.1 core (clean install from RTM iso), my USB 3.0 external Fantom Greendrive is disconnecting on it's own. In Windows 8, it stays connected FOR EVER, but in Windows 8.1, I'm having issues. Of course the drive is plugged into the back of the PC and I've tried each of the USB 3.0 ports. One thing I can tell you is, this USB 3.0 device disconnects at the same exact time each time..... NOT RANDOMLY. Disconnects that the same time provided I don't change any of the PC's hardware settings. And I'm now troubleshooting this isse on a freshly installed system:
Normally the Fantom HD disconnects in 7 min 15 sec.  I have tried:
Disabling the USB Selective Suspend  in the Power Options -  Doesn't work.  USB 3.0 disconnects in 7 min 15 sec.
Also disabled the HD from sleeping also in the same panel.- Doesn't work.  USB 3.0 disconnects in 7 min 15 sec..
Regardless of what I'm doing on the computer in the background, it always disconnects at the same exact time.
Tried disabling the Power service all together(no power options.) - USB 3.0 disconnects in 22 min 45 sec.
I turn Power Service back on and disabled about 10 uneeded  services - USB 3.0 disconnects in 7 min 15 sec..
OK, after installing ANOTHER fresh install of Win 8.1, and installing the Windows Updates, BUT this time I have installed ALL updated device drivers from the Lenovo support site for Win 8.1  Even though most devices were running ok with MS generic drivers.   I thought that the installation of a new Chipset Driver and USB Filter Driver would fix the issue. Nope. I GET THE SAME DARN DISCONNECTING.
Conclusion. In Windows 8 Core, the USB 3.0 external Fantom HD stays connected for EVER  but in Win 8.1 core- it's disconnecting. That leads me to believe that Windows 8.1 core has some bugs. With my limited experience, it seems that there is NOT physical power shortage. but a Windows 8.1 bug. (works good in windows 8) Another thing that may be related is with Win 8.1, the PC will not go to sleep. Sleeping issues is defitely a bug
Everyone on most sites I've read said to install the chipset drivers and it will work fine. Well, with me, everything is the exception.
Can the Fantom HD disonnecting on it's own all the time, corrupt anything on it?
Does anyone have any resolve or any additional info on this????  I really would appreciate it. I kind of like Win 8.1 better than 8 because it's the lesser of 2 evils.  Oh, I'm glad to a member in the forum

Hello again.  I found the solution!! Simplly clean installing Windows 7pro  and getting rid of Windows 8 did the trick. the USB 3.0 hard drive stays connected as long as I like. The 3.0 speeds are great also.  It's a shame I bought Windows 8 on a pre-installed system, but I'm never gonna use it. I like the fact that Lenovo provided the Windows 7 Drivers on the support website for my H535 which gave me the opportunity to install OEM and AMD drivers as opposed to microsoft generic drivers.
Now I need to find a product key. I don't know where to look or if any product key work work. Would buying a Retail box work? Seems like overkill just for a key. Can I buy a downloadable product product key for a cheaper price? Thanks
To add: I found out that the Windows 7 pro x64 retail boxes (DVD, COA, KEY) are about $130-$140.  I don't think I want to buy a key without the COA which is proof that your key is authentic.

  • Improve on these and Nokia N8 will win

    A few things here goes.
    1. Allow a Portrait photo to be viewed across the 3 home screens
    2. Have the icons labelled on the home screens. And it is too easy to edit the screens by accident. Longer press maybe?
    3. Bigger font options for phone numbers as we dial (15 numbers can be seen i am not calling someone from Jupiter), calculator and ovi Maps.
    4. Side scrolling left to right of applications/ apps not up and down. leave that for messaging and settings menus.
    5. All address entered in NSW australia so far states all streets are found in a town called Willoughby?????
    6. Voice Recorder has a centre start and stop button clearly labelled. Use and maximise the full screen
    7. Allow the new folders made to store games apps etc have a title and be given a generic picture on the folder like a game controller for games folder.
    8. Allow us to edit track details and cover art of the tracks once in the phone via ovi player or suite. Also we can not give some tracks a different cover art to the album changes it all. This software had bugs fixed a bit still not too user friendly. Needs a massive ironing out so to speak.
    9. Dialled Numbers history have better tabs. Better arrows and maybe the first letter with it to state Missed calls and received calls.
    10. IF we use a different theme and it has a different font let us see the clock in that font on our home screen.
    11. Allow Photo albums to be moved around so all is not at the top. But do not give us the option to delete the albums in the same setting.
    12. the buttons at the bottom options, homekey, call, make it have a different shape circles, rectangles with smooth corners. give us the options to customise.
    Well thats my dirty dozen
It is an awesome phone which allows us to customise to our individual taste. Many many multimedia features. It is a true multimedia phone not an application phone. The music cover flow art is smooth and i like the raised hill as it moves up. Camera forget about it. Just grainy when we try and zoom close shots. Video breathtaking. the look of the phone is very space age and sexy and sleek. Just a bit odd in teh ergonomics to hold maybe the slippery aluminium finish so you need a rubber/gel case but that's ok. T9 awesome for fat fingers. It is the way phones were meant to message one hand. other hand to scratch my bottom ;p
    Cheers
I have successfully converted a few people to purchase this phone over iPhone and galaxy Please dont make me look like a fool ;p

Wow. You need to calm down.
But he's right. It sounds like you want an Android phone. There is nothing to be gained from being a 'loyal' consumer. Nokia are not 'loyal' to their customers, they screw us over every day.
The N8 will never 'win' anything, because it'll never have the app support of Apple and Google, because they have announced they are killing off the OS. Who would make an app for a platform with no future?

  • CA-42, Nokia 3120 and WIn 7 (or XP)

My wife loves her "really simple" Nokia 3120 - it does everything she wants
Unfortunately, we have just had to replace it (with another 3120!) and need to move ringtones from old to "new" phone
I have a CA-42 cable, but no longer the install CD
When I attach the cable to either Win 7 or Win XP SP3, the driver installation fails - so I am stuck at the first hurdle
Can I get relevant drivers from somewhere other than the install CD?
    Thanks fror any suggestions

  • Apple Remote Desktop Win XP, Apple Remote Desktop Win XP

    Hello Everbody!
I would like to use Apple Remote Desktop 3 to view also the PC computers (XP and 7) on my network.
Could you tell me how can i set up Apple Remote Desktop and PCs please?
    Thanks
    Giovanni

I would suggest that you not do so and instead use Microsoft's remote desktop connection solution to view your Windows systems. But if you really want to use ARD, you would need to install a VNC client on your Windows systems. I'm not sure what VNC clients work with the latest version of ARD, but if you search this forum for "VNC" you may find some suggestions.

  • Troubles connecting remote desktop win 8

I had stable connection until recently.  Recent Changes made include new office management software updates for online bookings with some modem modifications and setting static IP address with 4 blocks.  Will these changes intefere with the previous

    Hi Nick,
Can you ping the remote computer successfully?
Are you remote connecting using IP address or Hostname? Please try with your static IP address and check result. Also please check firewall setting\rule whether anything is blocked under that which can’t allow remote desktop. You can check the below article

  • Have saved Bookmarks from my desktop Win XP on a USB stick in a folder named "Bookmarks" How to "import" these Bookmarks in my new new notebook wih Win7 Home Premium with Firefox?

First of all thank you for solving my installation of Firefox on my new notebook. I have successfully installed Firefox on that new PC.
Now I have another problem. I have successfully copied my Book marks from my desktop onto a USB stick in a folder named "Bookmarks" I am trying to 'import" the same Book marks in my Firefox on my new notebook. I cannot. I have tried various ways via "organise bookmarks" or "import" but I do not seem to be able to do it. Any suggestions?

    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Backing_up_and_restoring_bookmarks_-_Firefox
Did you save (export) the bookmarks to an HTML file or did you create a JSON backup?<br />
A JSON backup needs to be restored and will replace all currently present bookmarks.<br />
An HTML backup is imported and those bookmarks are merged with the existing bookmarks.

  • Netflix-desktop and wine-silverlight are now in AUR

It is now possible to view Netflix within your Arch Linux desktop with the netflix-desktop and wine-silverlight packages.
    netflix-desktop
    wine-silverlight
These packages have been adapted for Arch Linux from the Ubuntu packages provided by Erich Hoover (http://compholio.com), the main developer of Silverlight support within wine.
There are also now pre-compiled packages available on my signed repository here: http://demizerone.com/archnetflix/
Please test and report any problems to this thread, or the AUR page.

akspecs wrote:A reliable version of wine is a must...  I would definitely recommend download the source for one you know that will work with this setup.
I agree. I will lock it down to the commit in the git repo that works and update incrementally after testing.
akspecs wrote:Also, after thinking about it - it seems like a winetricks script would be ideal for something like this.  Imagine just having to type in "$ winetricks netflix" and having it do all the required heavy lifting with downloading the required wine version with patches and silver light version, firefox, etc...
Indeed. Silverlight will probably be in winetricks someday. That seems the more appropriate route.
    akspecs wrote:
But the repository is also very good because of the whole compiling thing.
With all of this said, I do hope you'll host i686 packages on your repo.
My repo will have both architectures, but for the next couple days it will have only x86_64 while I get everything stabilized. Although when built with x86_64, WINEARCH must be win32 for Silverlight to work. This shouldn't be problem because it is set as default in the netflix-desktop script.
Trilby wrote:If needed this can certainly be done in a PKGBUILD using `git log ...` and `git checkout ...`
I will look further into it later. But I am definitely going to base it off of a commit so I am not chasing patch rejections.

  • PC Suite - Nokia Communications Centre is not Init...

I am running Nokia PC Suite v.7.1.180.94 with bluetooth on both a laptop (Win 7) and desktop (Win 8). Everything is fine on the desktop but, about a month ago, a problem started with the connection to the laptop. Bluetooth is working, the little icon on the taskbar tells me Nokia PC Suite is connected via bluetooth and, after starting PC Suite, my phone name (a Nokia 300) is on the list displayed. However, when I click on any option i.e. Contacts, Messages etc. Nokia Communications Centre (v.2) starts initialising, but never fully loads - sometimes it gets as far as 34% and then stalls.
There appears to be nothing wrong with the phone and it works fine with the desktop. The same software version is loaded on both computers and everything worked fine on the laptop until recently. No apparent changes have been made to the laptop to coincide with the start of the problem.
I'd be grateful for any help in sorting out this problem.
    Many thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Many thanks for the advice. I tried using the cable and everything worked okay. As both my laptop and desktop were using a bluetooth dongle, I swapped them. The laptop works fine now, so it must be a fault with the bluetooth dongle.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Rgds, SMM

  • How to have the same iTunes library on a laptop and a desktop and be able to sync an iPod and iPhone to each one

I currently have iTunes 10 build 10.6.1.7 on my Win 7 home premium 64 bit laptop.  I used this computer as my desktop for a few months until I rebuilt my old desktop.  Now I want to put iTunes on the new desktop Win 7 64 bit computer.  I have both an Piod Classic 80 gig and an iPhone 4 16 gig.  Do to space limitations, I only sync a few of the items in the library with the iPhone.  I sync the entire library with the iPod.
I want to be able to have the same library on both the laptop and desktop and sync both devices as descrbed above.  Is this possible?  If not possible, what is the reason for being able to have up to five machines auithorized for iTunes?  I'm thinking that it h as something to do with the apple ID, but I'm not sure.
If I can't do this as I've described, what is the best way to accomplish something similar?
BTW, iTunes on the laptop says version 10.6.3 is available, but when I click download, nothing happens.  How do I fix this?
I've always found iTunes to be vrey confusing.
    Thanks for your advice.

Is it possible to have an Iphone and an IPAD on the same Itunes account on a PC?
    yes.

  • Sync info doesn't stick on desktop and, a link shared on Android FF, where to find on desktop?

If you don't mind, I have two questions. The first is in regards to Firefox Sync on Windows 7 x64. Firefox 19.0.2 Windows will not save my Firefox Sync login. Every time I start my browser I have to put in the username/password/recover key.
Here is the context and what I think might be the cause of my problem. I was using a sync account to sync between Win desktop, Win laptop and a Win work laptop. Sync has been working for years without any issues prior to this, for me. Finally ditched Symbian for Android and I setup Firefox Sync on my Droid phone. Unfortunately, it totally trashed my bookmarks. So I unlinked all my browsers (and Android Firefox), restored my bookmarks from a backup and created a new Sync account to start fresh (to make sure no corrupted data was being synced). Since I did that, Firefox desktop will not save my Sync login info with the new account or the old one. I could rebuild my profile from scratch but I've been using this profile for a few years and rebuilding it will be really time consuming. If I have no choice, I will take the time from my vacation over the Easter break to do it, but man that would really suck as I was planning to leave laptops at home. So I would appreciate any ideas on how I can fix this without having to start from scratch?
My 2nd question is in regards to Firefox Sync on Android. Before I unlinked all my devices from my old Sync account I was playing with the share feature for Firefox Sync and couldn't get it to work. So my question is, If I share a link to "Firefox Sync" on my Droid phone, how do I access that link on a desktop? I couldn't find it anywhere.
    Thanks!!

You can check for problems with preferences and try to rename or delete the prefs.js file and possible numbered prefs-##.js files and a possible user.js file to reset all prefs to the default values.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Resetting_preferences
You can also try to delete or rename the weave folder in the Firefox profile folder.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
    See "Creating a profile":
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

  • How to install and migrate info to a new laptop with Win 8

I got a laptop a few days ago with Win 8.... I am totally lost. I installed FF and it shows on my desktop :)
Now I need to transfer all my data there. I created a new profile in the desktop (Win 7) in case... Then what???
I don't know where to find the info I am familiar with. I use FF 22.
Can you please help me (again!)?
I will have to do the same from an old laptop (Win XP) to the new one.
    Thank you very much

Hi JenL27, the Profile Manager lets you see ALL your currently existing Firefox profiles and choose the one you want to use.
Start the profile manager again, select your original profile, and start Firefox using that one. It will be a lot easier to work with your data that way.
IMPORTANT: Do not delete any profiles without making good backups.

  • Working on the same Excel10 file from 2 networked PCs Win7 & Win 8.1 - Syncing / Saving problems

I want to be able to make changes to an Excel 10 file that resides in a laptop (Win7 OS) in a folder shared with a desktop (Win 8.1 OS). If the file is open in the laptop and I am trying to open to work on it from the desktop I get the message that the file
is locked since it is in use by another user and if I want to open as a local "read only" file. This means that any changes to it will not be reflected to the "mother" file residing in the laptop.
I can close the file (close Excel 10) in the laptop then I can access and change the file in the desktop  but when it comes to saving it, I get the message that "the file may have been changed by another user and can only be saved as a copy file
or overwrite the original". Clearly neither of these 2 choices is acceptable since saving as a copy file results in a file that does not incorporate the changes done in the laptop (mother file), if a overwrite then all the changes done in the laptop are
    lost!
Is there a way out of this? In Win XP there were the "briefcase" folders to do this but these are not available in Win 7 or 8.
I can see a "shared folder synchronisation" but I am not sure exactly what this does and whether it will do what I want.
I do NOT want to use "sky drives" because of security issues. I could consider using the Sharepoint Workspace, assuming that it uses heave encryption techniques.
    Can anyone help?
    SpaceBaz

    Hi,
Briefcase still exists in Windows 7 system. Please see link below
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/sync-using-briefcase#1TC=windows-7
Regarding to the error message "the file may have been changed by another user and can only be saved as a copy file or overwrite the original". Either save a copy or overwrite changes, you can see description in the link below
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/324491/
For “if a overwrite then all the changes done in the laptop are lost!”, for example, the first person has made changes to the excel on the shared folder, then he close the file, and then the second person made changes on the same excel in another
computer, the two changes should all be done to the files, but if the two persons made a same change to the excel, then absolutely, second one will overwrite the first one.
