No, the N70 is too old to support this feature.
Newer N series phones can use themes with background animations.

  • Syncing multiple calendars to a Nokia N70

    Hi there
This is my first post and I hope I'm not duplicating any previous ones.
I have just bought a new Nokia N70 and I am very pleased with it - I'd highly recommend it as a solid phone. In the near future, I'll be getting a GPS for it and also hope to use some kind of Office package on it.
I'm using OS X 10.4.6 and found, once I'd activated Bluetooth, iSync worked straight away and synced my Address Book (with pictures) and iCal. My question is this though - has anyone tried syncing multiple calendars and kept the categories on the phone?
The built in calendar on the N70 doesn't appear to support categories, well certainly nothing you can customise, so I downloaded a trial of AquaCalendar which does. However, when I synced, all the category information was lost. Syncing back to the Mac, you can tell iSync to place items created on the phone to a specific calendar, so that's ok, it's just the other way around.
Basically I have 4 calendars on iCal, 1 for me, 1 for my wife, 1 for Birthdays and 1 for UK Hols (subscribed) They have a particular colour and love the way iCal shows them. What I want is to transfer this colour set so I get the same thing on the N70. Anyone had any sucess with this?
    Many thanks
    Simon

    langert3,
You would have to upgrade to Tiger to publish several calendars as a group.
Publishing calendars to .Mac: If you're using iCal 2.0 or later, you can create Calendar groups and publish them to .Mac. If you publish a Calendar group, all the events and To Do information from the calendars in the group is merged and published in one calendar. You can also choose to publish individual calendars in the group.Unfortunately that feature is not available in iCal 1.5.5.
    ;~)

  • NOKIA N70. IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE???

    NOKIA N70 - DIALLING ITSELF
Could you please advise me on this issue to clear it up with my mobile phone provider.
For the last two years I have been using this phone with a prepaid card, without any problem.
From 6th April 2010 I took a phone plan with TPG and took one call.
On the 9th from 12.47pm TPG charged me about 24 times dialing Optus Assistance number - 0731001356 - Connect 2, with each call costing $1.10.
This happened again on 9/4 another 22 times and again on 18/4 & 19/4 another 24 times.
Each call lasted around 10-20 seconds, occuring one after the other with a few seconds inbetween them.
I don't have this number on speed dial.
TPG advised me that there was on error in their system and that I had made the calls.
When looking at the calls, on more than one occasion there was 2 calls to this same number at the same time. Before one call had finished, another had started to that exact same number.
    Each lasted roughly 10-20 seconds.
How is the phone dialling again, and the call being received by the other number before the first call is finished?
Another thing I noticed is that these calls are not recorded in our phone as outgoing calls.
It only comes up in their system, but there is no record on my dialled numbers history.
Do you agree with TPG, that the phone is at fault and not their system?
Can the phone erroneously dial itself, with no record on the dialled numbers history?
If you could help me with this matter I would be very grateful.
    Thank You

As hrs1364 said, your phone is likely having a virus. The N70 works on the old s60v2 operating system which is prone to viruses.
However, the virus could either be in the phone memory, or in the memory card. The procedure specified by hrs1364 would only work if the virus is on the phone memory, but not if it was on the memory card.
I would suggest you to remove the memory card and reboot the phone, and use it without the card. If it behaves normally without a card, then the problem is on the card which you have to format. If it keeps on acting up, do a hard reset.
Remember that doing a hard reset erases all your data, so be sure you have a backup of contacts, messages and calendar. Do not backup or restore settings and files as the virus would be included in the backup.

  • Switch on problem Nokia N70

Maybe someone can help me with the following problem. My Nokia N70 is flat dead, it won´t switch on. It went like this.. The battery had to be charged. After it indicated that the battery was charged, I tried to switch it on. I saw two nokia logo´s but the screen stayed white. It didn´t want to start up. After I disconnected the adapter, it went dead. I brought it to a certified nokia repair shop and they fixed it for me. According to them, it was an issue with the power button. They said it was not covered by that garanty. Makes you think what the **bleep** is covered by that garanty... Like I almost never touch that power button, only when it´s gone dead! Guess what, two weeks later I have the same problem! I like to talk to somebody from Nokia, but it seems bloody difficult. For an aspiringjournalist like me, this phone is an indispensible tool!

If the phone is now out of it's warranty duration. You really need to pay for the parts and the labor that the Nokia Service Centre offers.

    Can anyone please help me!!!

Right now I cannot think of other ways except upgrade the FW that I doubt can work it out.
I think you can take it out to a nokia care and express them the situation.

  • Help with Nokia N70 + Belkin Bluetooth USB + OS 10.4.6

    Hello
I've seen previous threads relating to the problems Apple's Bluetooth File Exchange has in recognising/pulling up the contents of a Nokia N70. The advice for N70 users wishing to transfer their photos to the Mac has been to send photos individually from the Gallery in the N70. This process doesn't even work for me, despite the fact that Bluetooth File Exchange and iSync both recognise my phone just fine.
    My questions therefore are:
-- Is there a known solution to Bluetooth File Exchange's inability to list content of a Nokia N70?
-- Is there another Bluetooth application (shareware or other) that can do what the Bluetooth File Exchange can't (in this case)?
-- Why can't I send photos individually from the N70 to my Mac? Is my Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter (Class 2; v1.2) not the right thing?
    Help please!

It works fine for me, I can even mark several of them and send them in one operation.
Since you are concerned about your Adapter, why don't you try the procedure in a Mac with 1.4.7.

  • Nokia N70 and Pc Suite 6.6 not connecting properly

I am having problems connecting to my phone from windows xp and pc suite.
Whenever i try to "backup" or use "file manager" i get connection errors. Nokia connection manager is showing connected ok. When i click 'file manager' i can see the N70, but as soon as i try to 'explore' it by double clicking i get an error similar to 'Operation could not be completed'. (sorry not at home at the mo, experiencing parity error in my organic memory! ;-p)
    History:
I Previously had Pc suite 5 installed and connected via bluetooth to my Nokia 6600. I believe the problem is the old PC Suite software as I can connect on a works laptop but not from my home pc. I have removed all previous Bluetooth, Nokia software via add-remove programs but still no luck.
I have tried renaming my memory card and even re-formatting and renaming, no luck.

Can anyone help? I really don't want to uninstall and re-install windows if i can help it!

sorry, i thought i was replying to a different thread i had allreayd posted my problem in, whihc is...
I had the firmware updated on my N70 today to get rid of the dreaded orange home screen at a nokia dealer, but when I try to connect to my PC it won’t work.
When I first got home and plugged it in via USB windows first told me the USB device was not reqocnised, so I pulled out the cable and put it in as advised. it seemed to be ok then, but just after i went to transfer some music over but it wouldn’t let me (as if my phone was not connected) and PC suit said I didnt have a phone connected, although I could see my phone under 'my computer' but couldn’t transfer any thing over.
So I downloaded PC suite again to make sure I had up to date software and drivers, I already had them it seemed but I unistalled and install them again just in case. But when I come to set up the connection the set up screen simply hangs, although the cable is working as windows makes that noise and it pops up to say N70 found, but then a second later says the install didn’t work, all the time the setup screen still hangs in the background.
I have tried every thing in this thread and others including doing the clean setup from nokia.
    My firmware version: 3.0546.2.3.18-11-05RM-84
    Windows XP SP2
    Please help.
    Thanks

  • Nokia N70 advice if possible?

    Hello,
I have recently gone over to O2 here in the UK and got a Nokia N70 phone, I've so far sent two back after having them for one day, with a fault, which is a buzzing noise in the earpiece when the backlight is one.
I got my third replacement through yesterday and its doing the very same thing, in addition, on some calls I'm getting a very strong echo of my own voice coming through which is very off putting.
This is the first time I've had a Nokia in a while and am so far very dissapointed.
    I am using Firmware version:
    V 3.0546.2.3
    18-11-05
    RM - 84
Is this a faulty batch of phones and is there anything else I can do rather than have to return yet another one, I'm beginning to think I will not find a working Nokia phone at this rate.
I've not installed any software on it, just synced it with my Outlook on my PC.
Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated if you can.
    Kind Regards

Just a quick thought: Reading the posts here, it would appear that the problem is brightness related. If the O2 theme has a bright colour in the background, maybe if you changed the theme to the default and also turned the brightness down the buzzing on the incoming audio will decrease or even go away. Let us know how you get on..... Gadget
No, sadly that is not the problem at all, I had only used the default theme from the off, and still do, and tried turning the brightness down but with no effect on the noise at all, unless you actually turn the backlight off completley of course.
When your on a call it buzzes for about 40 secs and as soon as the backlight switches off, the noise dissappears totally, soon as you press a button and the light comes on again, the noise comes back with it.
I've just accepted it is the way the phone is now so will put up with it, but to be honest I now feel its put me right off and I won't buy a Nokia phone again in future. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
    David

  • Nokia N70 Receiving Calls

just got a Nokia N70 and though i can receive calls i cannot hear the other party until i switch to loudspeaker mode. can anyone help with thisQ

Assuming you've got the volume set to high, it could be a problem with the speaker - try taking it back as faulty and getting a replacement, if that doesn't work - take it to your nearest Nokia Service Centre and ask them to have a look. Definitely try the first option first though

  • Nokia N70 starts with a white Screen.

    Hi all,
My nokia N70 starts with a white Screen and does not go any further. It does not make any sound while starting. When i connect it to the PC it is not detected by the PC while the phone is on showing a white screen. I have tried performing a Hard reset using the *3 and the green key but it is not formatting either. I also tried updating the software but as the PC is not recognising the mobile connection the updater is not working either. I am using the latest PC suite.
    Please help...

Remove the battery for at least 5 minutes and then replace and see if that makes any difference. Also try removing the memory card.
If the above two don't work then try these.Always remember to backup your phone before performing resets as your data may be lost.
    First try these
*#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default
    *#7370# - Reformat your phone
    If still not working
Then try the "3 finger deep reset". With the phone powered off, depress and hold these three keys simultaneously "*" "3" "green phone" and then power on phone using the on/off button whilst keeping the three keys depressed until you hear start-up tone.
This should ONLY be done if the device doesn't power up normally anymore and it wipes everything in the Phone memory that is not part of the ROM.
