Nokia N73 Firmware Upgrade Problems
I just upgraded my firmware. I backed up before. I've restored the backup, and now many of my applications are missing, and so are ALL of my contacts. I know these were backed up as I remember checking the log after the backup to make sure that they were, and it said they all were successfully.
One strange thing, in my call log, and in my messages, they still have their names? And also, these were not stored on the simcard, they were stored on the phone. I also have a memory card that I didn't backup, as it wasn't needed too.
If anyone can help, I still do have the backups. Even if they'res a program that can read the nokia backups, I can just manually save contacts.

hmmm...try to do the hard reset on the phone and maybe remove the memory card and do the restore again. you know what, to prevent this from happening again in the future, make sure to copy ur contacts in ur sim card...thats what i do...

I took my N73 which is on 3 network for a firmware upgrade on friday. When I had it done, it wasnt updated at all. I was really disapointed so i asked the guy in the shop why its the same and he said it was that. I was well disapointed because when i manage to get it done it wasnt.
Has anyone else had the same problem?guys, if it is not on nokia's site yet you need to speak with a nokia engineer, they can do this work for you

Nokia n80 firmware upgrade problems
Hi all i just tried to do a firmware upgrade using the nokia sites stuff and my pc crashed and now my fone wont turn on could some1 please tell me
1 if this is terminal
2 if i can sort this out myself
3 point me in the right direction for the info i need to sort out my 3 week fone
4 how much i should expect to pay if i HAVE to go to a shop to get it sorted
thanks in advance for any help givenRight first thing I would try is to connect your mobile to your pc and try running NSU again. If it connects to your N80 great you should be able to just start over.
(Tips: Run only the NSU on PC close all other programmes down. and ensure your N80 is charged fully or at least plug your charger into the N80 whilst doing the update.)
If your N80 Isn't recognised by the NSU then its dead and the only way go revive the poor little things is to:
1: Take is to a Nokia Service Centre. Carphone warehouse is usually your closest NSC, If your lucky they will have an 'on site' techinician and he will fix your N80 within an hour or same day, if not then you will have to leave it with them for a week or so.
2: Call your Service provider, tell them your N80 just went bye bye and they should swap it for you or at least give you a refurbished N80.
You won't be charged by the Nokia Service Centre for any work done as your within your warrenty and if you choose to go back to your service provider you should also be covered. This has happened to me and I sent my N80 back to O2 they had a refurbished model sent back to me within a couple of days with no charges. -

I tried to upgrade my n73 however it kept saying no software updates available.

Nokia n80 firmware upgrade problem
hi, i have an nokia n80 and i-ve downloaded the pc software for upgrading the phones firmware and when remaining 53 seconds before finish phone went off and it doesnt decets my phone anymore...so i can not continue upgrading...the phone now doesnt event power on :X
What should i do ?
the phone has like 1 year since i baught it...if i go to nokia center i must pay to restore my phone ?
Message Edited by jokerady on 28-Feb-2008 10:03 PMSadly something has gone wrong with the update leaving the phone unusable. You can try a hard reset but remove the sim and memory card first.
Hard reset:
1. Switch off the phone.
2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (the call answer button), * button, and '3' button.
3. While holding these buttons, press the power button and switch on the phone.
4. Release when the phone shows the nokia logo or shows other signs of life like the language selction screen.
If this fails the your only option is to get it repaired. If you are in Europe you get a 2 year warranty, not 1 year. -
Nokia N73 firmware upgrade question

I have a N73 running: V 4.0736.3.2.1 - RM-133 and I saw at Nokia software update news (http://europe.nokia.com/A4577225) that there is a new software release (4.0812.4.x), but NSU only shows me that the latest release is: 4.0736.3.2.1.
I running the latest NSU version and my product code is: 0553150
Is there another tip do update the software?

N73 Firmware upgrade- what changes?
I have successfully upgraded my N73 firmware from 2.0628.0.0.1 to 3.0704.1.0.1 but nowhere on Nokia website or anywhere else can I find out what changes or improvements resulted from the upgrade.
Does anyone know where to find a list of changes?

it will be a fast one.
Otherwise the n73 will be replaced; they told me it had to do with bad soldering of the hardware. During FW upgrade these problems pop-up, they do not occur during normal operations......

N73 Firmware upgrade--- bad working Voice dialing
I updated the firmware of my Nokia N73 from 268.0.0.3 to 368.0.0.1. With the older version delivered by the phone voice dialing worked. In the 268.0.0.3 I only could given voice command for the profiles not for the contacts. It didn't recognise any contact. Because of thos I decided to do the next firmware upgrade to 368.0.0.1 and now the voice dialing doesn't work at all. Each time I put the button to activate it tells me "fualty voicesystem"in dutch "fout spraaksysteem. Now it became even worser. Is there anyone who helps me out?

Voice Dialling seems to be a bit choppy on most of the N-series models, because they use speech synthesis. Whereas this works for profile names, it's a different tackle for contact names. This is because contact names are assigned by assigned by you, the user. If you select Play Voice Tag for any given contact in your phone, it will output this name using speech synthesis. You will have to EXACTLY copy this output. And, if the name of a certain user is "John Doe Geralds", it wouldn't suffice to simply say "John Doe". You'd HAVE to put Geralds behind that, and in the EXACT same way as the device says it.
The only way to change a voice label for any given name is to change the name itself. The same goes for profile names and commands, but I wouldn't change these as the defaults work fine.
A reason because of which voice dialling may not work can also be found in the user's voice details having become useless for the phone. To correct this, go to Tools> Voice commands > Options > Settings and choose: Reset Voice Adaptations. Note that carrying this out means that ALL data collected about your voice shall be lost; you might have a bit of difficulty using voice features the first couple of times after performing this instruction. Beware to EXACTLY copy whatever the phone says, even though you know real-world pronunciation to be different. Until now, I haven't had to actually adjust the pitch of my voice to the synthesizer's pitch, but I know this would improve recognition accuracy.

Recently, I upgraded my E90's firmware from the version 7.xx to 300.34.84. I backed up all the data on the phone prior to the firmware upgrade - as required for the retention of software certificates and data.
Some of the trouble I'm having now is with the Download! folder, specifically the Applications subfolder - it does not update it's content - actually, it's totally unaccessible. Also, the Windows Live Application no longer works - and I'm unable to download a fresh copy as a result of the problems with the Download! folder. Prior to the firmware upgrade, I had using the Windows Live Messenger application and the Windows Live email/messaging synchronising facility in the Messaging folder hitch-free for about three months.

By the way, I don't think the upgrade in this case has much merit. Other than the A-GPS, there's no real substance in 300.34.84.

See my problem is I'm not too interested in the third-party software available from ea.mobile.nokia.com/ea/apps/. I'm interested in the ones that become available in the Download! folder, under Applications. When I click on Applications, the chevron appears, followed by the progress bar, which fills almost completely, then shows the this message: 'Catalog update failed!' I believe my internet connection is working fine - I watch youtube on the device often.
This week, a new link appeared - U2 - Get On Your Boots - which great, 'cause U2 rocks. But, Applications remains dead - even if I remove it from the list and click - Options/Select/Refresh List.
I got around the Windows Live problem by using the awesome Nokia Messaging (email) [http://email.nokia.com], and the instant messaging application mxit. Besides those minor issues, I think the E90 is a pretty awesome device.

**SPA2102 FIRMWARE UPGRADE PROBLEM WITH 5.2.12
I'm having problems loading firmware 5.2.12 onto my SP2102-R ATA. I have my laptop PC running Windows 7 directly with an ethernet cable from my laptop to the ethernet connection on the back of the SPA2102. I run the .bin file and In order to get the software to the upgrade stage I have to enter ****, 73738 1# to move to the next stage. I have now been waiting for 1/2 hour waiting for firmware download request from SPA. IT DOESN'T GET PASS THIS STAGE.......CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL WHAT I'M DOING WRONG OR WHAT I NEED TO DO DIFFERENT?
Thanks......Based on my experience with the SPA2102-NA, it is not necessary to do a factory reset (*73738) in order to perform a firmware upgrade/downgrade.
However, now that you have done so, any and all previous user settings will have been reset to the original factory settings (including user set passwords - assuming your ATA is an un-locked SPA2102-NA).
If you think the firmware 5.2.12 is faulty, then repeat the upgrade/downgrade process by downgrading back to an earlier version:

1.The phone hangs occasionally.I would need to remove the battery and put it back to get the phone to normal.
2.I get the message memory full.So i would like to know if i could get a new 2gb SD card.Will this involve any firmware updation?.

I Have Found That If You Back Up All Your Information From Your Memory Card To Your Computer Then Format Your Memory Card It Should Run As Good As New.

Nokia E90 firmware download problem
Hi - I'm trying to update my Nokia E90 firmware from 210.34.75 to 300.34.84 and the 81.9MB file downloads perfectly (in under 3 minutes) until it gets to 60.3MB and then stops. Any ideas? I've un-installed the entire PC Suite and its add-ons, an no luck. Any ideas? Thanks, Ian.

Nokia N73 theme installation problem
Im new user of N73, initially i had install a handphone theme call "Full Form" provided the N73's cd. But after i changed a new MiniSD card, i failed to install back the theme. Anyone can provide this solution?

when I want start my firmware upgrade (today 100.07.76 - Vodafone branded) to the actual one via NSU, it stops always ~60 MB. Tried many things already, everything is up-to-date from Nokia and PC with XP.
Any ideas ?

There are conflicting stories about Nokia service points and debranding. It can only be done if the phone has had any SIM lock officially removed by the network, and the service point may in some cases ask for a letter from the operator stating their approval for the action to be taken. Service points are not required to offer this service and so may not do, and if they do it will be at your cost. -
X4600m2 bios/ilom firmware upgrade problem
In the X4600m2 downloads, under Software 2.3, in the firmware category, I downloaded ILOM-3_0_3_31_r42822-Sun_Fire_X4600M2.ima (md5 checks out). I can't install the new firmware however (using the ILOM cli):
