Nokia N78 FM Transmitter stopped working

I was trying to activate the FM transmitter on my N78 tonight. I tried to turn it on from the music player -> FM Transmitter -> On. THe confrimation message 'transmitting at 92.6Mhz...' was displayed however when I tuned my radio to 92.6, nothing is there (not even the usual 'beep' sound coming from the transmitter). It was as if the transmitter was off the whole time. I've tried different frequencies, different locations and different radios. Is the FM transmitter broken?
FYI the firmware I am using is 20.149.051.1

Nokia N78 has FM Transmitter Antenna fixed at the inside of battery cover (back cover).If this battery cover is not placed propperly the antenna will not come in contact with circuit points .So do following tests
1. Open the back cover and check if the antenna is in tact . You can find the antenna mounted inside of the back cover.This antenna is so thin that it is covered or sealed with a film for shilding purpose.So it usually does not
get spoiled unless we dont play with it.
2.Replace the cover back.
3.Switch off the phone and restart
4.Check if it shows transmitting at frequency--and a small transmitting icon is displayed at the right top corner .
5. Still if you are not getting the transmission then you may have to replace the back cover with orginal one.

Nokia Launch Application has stopped working...

Hi,
I've just carried out a fresh install of Vista 32-bit and installed Nokia PC Suite (version 6.85.12.0) and I now get the following error after a few seconds, even if I'm not trying to run any of the apps:
Nokia Launch Application has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
The version I had before the re-installation worked perfectly.
Is it possible to find that version again?

I would try to manually (through control panel I mean, no registry hacking) uninstall 6.84, connectivity solution and USB driver, then boot PC and then install 6.85 on a clear computer, if this problem, repair 6.85 through control panel and then decide whether to go back to 6.84

Nokia maps 2.0 stopped working on my E90 after I used maps downloader 2.0. How can i resolve it?

Try to restore factory settings by going to Menu > tools > settings > general > factory settings.
Or simply key in *#7780# when on stand by.
The code by default is 12345.
If this does not help then you may wanna try to re-install the maps application by going to http://europe.nokia.com/explore-services/maps/download
Download and install the latest version as yours might have been corrupted.

FM Transmitter stopped working

I have an Accurian model 12-362 FM transmitter that was functioning fine, but now has stopped working. It won't even power up. I purchased a new different model and it experienced the same issue, so I'm thinking there is something wrong on the iPod end. The device will not even power up. I've seen in a few other forums that some users saw this when upgrading software - I can't say if that is when my stopped, since I don't use this device very often. I'm thinking maybe a clogged connector, but wanted to see if anyone had any advice.

Nokia N8 touch Screen stop working..

first of all Thankyou for reading my post.
espicially to those who wanted to help me.
also before i post this problem i read lots of problems same as my phone problem.
main is Touch Screen wont work.
i did this.
8secs depressed the power botton. failed.
depressed volume down + camera + rare botton + power botton - failed.
i tried also to restore factory setting. but the code 00000 0000 or 12345 factory default code. wont work also.
guys if anyone knows how to fix my n8 touch screen.
and im using the mouse to navigate my phone.
please help me. the phone ages 21months.
before this problem happen. i installed an application called.
freeware LIE DETECTOR.
and after that it stop working..

im not from EU sir.
im from philippines i bought this cellphone when i was in saudi arabia.
so that means warranty is not applicable to my location right now.
pressing power button 8secs and menu volume camera power it does reboot.
but after that still touch screen wont work.
is my phone broken?
by that application LIE DETECTOR?
that means i cant trust nokia applications at all.

Nokia 701 Social app stopped working

One fine day, the Nokia Social app in my Nokia 701 simply stopped working; tapping on the icon shows the "welcome to social" screen and then goes back to previous screen. Why? Is anybody else having this problem?
I have uninstalled the app, restarted the phone and reinstalled it but the problem persists. I keep my phone software updated from time to time.
Any possible solution known to anybody?

Welcome to the Nokia Forums!
Have you tried to perform a soft reset using the code *#7870# security code 12345 by default.
This will revert your phone settings to factory settings hwoever it will not remove any of your data.
If it doesn not work, please plug your device into Nokia Suite and reinstall the phone software. Before any steps please create a backup of your device.

Problem: Nokia C7 Social application stopped worki...

I have a problem with my new Nokia C7. Social application has stopped working on the first day of use and now only says "Script alert: Sorry, please uninstall and reinstall communities."
I presume "communities" means the Social application, and I have uninstalled and reinstalled it many times now with different sequences (uninstall+update+reboot, uninstall+reboot+install+reboot etc.) without help. I have also downloaded the Social 1.2 manually and tried to install that way too. No success there either. The widget for Social seems to be working and updating correctly though.
I've seen similar threads elsewhere on Nokia Support Discussions, but suggestions there don't work for me and Nokia hasn't commented officially on any of the threads.
Help is needed!

Hey Mohammedraad, Welcome to the Nokia Forums.
Its now no longer turning on at all? or Is it now not even being recognised by the computer?
If it has completely turned off, please try take your battery out for a few minutes and then re-insert it, and see if it starts up.
If it is no longer being recognised by the computer please go into your control panel, device manager and forget your device. Then replug it in.
Let me know how if it works or not and I can help you further.

NOKIA 500: Smart dialing stopped working after con...

I'm having lots of problems with this phone. First, mail inbox mess, with yahoo accounts not syncing at all or ActiveSync problems...
In this case, the smart dialing option stopped working. This happens when I restore contacs from a backup file. I know because I made a hard reset *#7370# and until I restored the contacts, the search function worked. Please, work around this bug.

This process and experience is ridiculous at this point after numerous, unsuccessful tries.
Update:
Yet again I deleted the \cities folder & qf file from my memory card. I ran Ovi Maps, my cities folder was re-created, I went to My Position and got the expected red dot. Closed Ovi Maps, enabled Bluetooth, connected with the NMT tool then re-ran the Nokia Map Loader.
Surprisingly, the Nokia Map Loader appeared to connect fine with my device without error. When I selected USA Maps, the tool started downloading, got past the half way point and I saw as message stating "unpacking files". It was actively copying whatever part of the downloaded files it had grabbed to my memory card. Great, or so I thought, as this is as far as I've gotten in the last 48 hrs.
I then got an unexpected error in the Nokia Map Loader and the app closed. The error log is in the attached text file on this thread. (EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV))
I restarted the Nokia Map Loader and got the same error to reappear immediately but it re-connected with my device. This is the only app crashing like this on my Mac and giving this error. Previously, the error was EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT).
Now I'm quite annoyed that the Nokia Map Loader does NOT pick up where it left off in the download process before the app crashed. Therefore, I'm attempting to re-download US Maps for the final time, all 1.5GB of it. Hopefully it will complete this time.
Not a good Nokia experience regarding mapping updates at all, at least in the Mac environment.

where do you live and where is the unit from? there are certain countries that forbid the presence of fm transmitter on the phone, it is possible that your phone is precisely from that region.

A few months ago i replaced my nokia 5800 screen with an unofficial one. After a recent update the screen stopped working. If I install a new and genuine nokia screen will this fix the problem?

Nokia Lumia 800 has stopped working

Hello,
My Nokia Lumia 800 has just stopped working - I checked it during the day to reply to messages and it was working fine, and then when checking it about an hour later it would not respond to anything.
When I got home I tried charging it (it didn't have low battery when I was out so I don't think it turned off because of that). Then I tried taking the SIM out and putting it back in, tried the 'soft reset', the 'hard reset' and then plugged it into my laptop, all of which did nothing.
I'm just not sure what to do next really, any advice would be much appreciated!

Hi, ZaraFrizell. When you tried charging the phone, does it show any battery indicator? Are these the troubleshooting steps you've done so far: Nokia Lumia 800 - Troubleshooter? Note that the link is intended for the US, but you may search it on your local page. In case that the issue still remains, best to have it checked by our authorized technicians. Taking your phone for repair will delete all the personal files saved on it. Check this: http://www.microsoft.com/en/mobile/locale/ to find your local repair options.

Nokia Ovi Player has stopped working

Everytime I try to open Nokia Ovi Player a message comes up saying 'a problem caused the program to stop working correctly, Windows will close the program and notify you if there is a solution available'. I've uninstalled and then reinstalled the program and followed advice I saw on another discussion page to delete something through my local disc/program data/nokia - can't remember the name of the file I deleted but it didn't make any difference. I'm using windows vista. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

Another update, i randomly got a phone call from nokia a few nights back....(i had given up after my last conversation) and they fixed it. Basicly uninstall all the nokia bits via your control panel or whatever methods depending on your version of windows. This though actually does not uninstall everything, go to you programs folder in the c drive and search and delete any nokia bits you see remaining. Then go to users, select your user and any others using the player, again serching through this folder you will find more little bits of nokia files hiding away delete all of these. Alternatively just run a search for nokia on your c drive and this should bring them all up. let me know if you need the exact location of the files i am on my work pc at the moment and cant access my laptop to write it here correctly and honeslty cant remember off of the top of my head.
Next re-start your pc, then log onto the internet and search for nokia music.com, do not go to the uk site or any other country ones (i am in the uk and this is what i was perviously doing) apparanlty the .com version is different in some way, not sure why but its works so i am not going to argue. So its really important to only go to the .com site. download it, re-start your pc again. Then after a very very very slow initial start it should open, for the first day i had trouble getting into the shop its self, the best way is to use the little sign in option on the screen rather than going to your contries shop.
The first day it would not let me log in but the program did open, day 2 it let me log in and use it fully, day 3 working fine, day four... well thats today so i dont know yet but fingers crossed.
Hope that helps a bit, like i said if you need a more detailed explanation just post a reply and i'll be happy to do that as i know how frustrating it is.

Uninstall Ovi suite; Clean windows Registry (CCleaner). Restart PC, Download and install latest Ovi Suite .
And make sure there is no Virus, Spyware, Use a reliable Antivirus Program. Like; Avaira.

If yours does not have it then you have been sold a phone that was designed to be sold in another country. The retailer should have made you aware of this.
It is not possible to download and install it because it is a hardware feature.
You should speak to the retailer and demand an Indian model, not an imported model.
