NOKIA N78 TIME ISSUE

I just bought brand new Nokia N78 and I could not get into time and date settings at all, so I decided to update the phone and everything went ok so I got 12.046 version on... then I wanted to change time and date again and I could not get in it always puts me back to main menu ???? I have used 7370 code to reset and I got the same problem ?
What should I do ?

actually the correct code would be *#7370#
now keep in mind that you will lose all your data so make sure you do a back up prior.
1. *#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default ( you will not lose any data)
Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list.
2. *#7370# - Reformat your phone
3. This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working.If the phone is dead proceed with reflash if not, turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
re-flash - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. once you feel the phone power up you can let go off the power button while still holding all three buttons
If these codes are not working the only thing for you to do is contact your Nokia Care Center/Service.

Time of Pakistan is GMT+5 but it shows GMT+6?

I think that you have to manually set gmt+5. Simply, the phone detects /from the operator?)daylight saving time and knows that local time is advanced by 1 hour in a certain period of the year. When will be off the daylight saving period, it will get back to GMT+5 by itself. A question: is there daylight saving in Pakistan, in this period of the year? (I guess yes, being in the north emisphere Pakistan too). If so, what's the issue? You'd have the right local time displayed, haven't you?
I have operator time update set to on, and the time zone set on "local time" If I uncheck local time, and check Italy,, GMT+2 is displayed (and actually is GMT+1). Shoud I repeat this operation say in November, I'd find GMT+1. Simply, I guess, the internal clock takes from the operator the local time that, of course, varies along the year

Nokia N78 - Date, Alarm, Messages issue after upda...

Hi all,
After software update of my Nokia N78 I retrieve many problems;
please see the list below:
1) Data change suddenly
for example... 26 April ... to 8 May
I noticed that this issue happens often during the week-end.
2) Alarm doesn't work for the daily scheduling
For example:
Scheduled alarm at 17:00 everyday.
sometime happen that the next day alarm doesn't start !!!
3) Alarm don't turn on the phone.
Like the point 2, but in this case often the phone doesn't wake up me !
4) The sort of SMS message.
happened that 5/6 old sms was on top list (sorted by date)
I delete this messages in order to fix this issue.

I have a great news for Nokia guys. I deleted all jobs alarm... I mean, I'm not using N78 alarms, and the date issue seem solved !
Unfortunately this is only a workaround, I'm using the alarm of my great N73
I'm an Analyst/Programmer Senior... Nokia, please, check your alarm application that most probably caused too much problem.

I found many fault on this SW release; related to the background light, phone keypad lock, keys that seem locked... etc etc... this is the worst update released.

Nokia N78 - Power Saver Timeout reverts to default

I received the nokia N78 from vodafone on Saturday and set it up for the power saver to kick in after 30 seconds (from the sliding option scale of 1-90 seconds. I found that after the first couple of times of this functioning as requested it reverts back to a default of 5 seconds before going into power save. The requested 30 seconds remains in the settings but still the default overrides. I tried resetting this a number of times with identical results. I received a replacement handset today and attempted similar setups of this feature with the same identical results....It becomes very frustrating when your mid text or searching the gallery and the screen goes blank despite specific settings requested....Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone know how I can fix this???

NOKIA N78 GREAT BUT 3 BUGS (SO FAR)
Bug 1: On my N78 if I enable the "phone autolock period" to anything, the lights go off at 5 seconds and if I do factory defaults and do not use "phone autolock", the lights stay on as long as I set it to. Quite frustrating as I like my phone to "autolock always" if unattended or lost.
Workaround:
1) Factory defaults your Mobile and just don't use 'phone autolock'.
OR
2) A restart corrects everything temporarily, but after several timeouts, it returns to the 5 seconds setting.
Yes, it is really an annoying bug Nokia.
Bug 2: Weekly alarm; if I set a new weekly alarm for any future day and on saving it the day sets to today every time. This is just annoying.
Bug 3: With N78 ' in KEY-PAD autolocked mode', the alarm goes off when you press 'stop' for longer than a second, and surprise the message reader activates like postmaster.
Wakeup Nokia this firmware has been out for a while now and its time to come up with new firmware without bugggggggggssssssss....
Hope Nokia will come out with new bug free firmware for N78.

Low fm transmission power on Nokia N78

Hello,
I have Nokia N78 phone. This phone works great, no huge issues with it. However, there is one issue that is bugging me. The issue is that the power of the FM transmitter is too low, even a good radio is unable to pick up the signal from the phone at even 20 cm distance (that is less then 100mW of power). I do not believe this to be a hardware, or antenna issue. I believe that this is a software bug in the newest release of the Nokia N78 software, as the transmission was not this low with older software versions of Nokia N78. This issue also appeared after I did update the software to newest version on Nokia N78.

I did test the antennas with GPS/WLAN and I always got 100% signal there. So the antennas are not a issue in this case.
I do believe that Nokia N78 and Nokia N79 use almost identical hardware and software.This software bug is quite annoying.

after selecting yes and the confirmation screen
nothing happens

For example - when I use telephone on Windows Mobile all that I see in smartphone I can see, edit, make the reserve copy on PC with outlook or windows adress book, are displayed absolutely all telephones and informashion. So what program I must do this for Nokia ?

Nokia N78 When Newer Firmware Update

Hi!
I have a Nokia N78 with v12.046, the last firmware, and this FW have a much bugs. When Nokia release a new firmware for Nokia N78 to solve the much bugs that this version of FW have ?

the new soft ware have huge number of bugs
1- the phne hange at any time and many time in each situation ( play game , open clip, WLAN browsing , and pla pla pal)
2-the power safer just only when i make it 30 sec or 1 min or any time , its start to work after 5 secs only
3- the videwo dont have send option from the gallary , you showld go to photo = all = and after that send the clip
the phone after i turn off need to make turn one 3 tmes or more and may be hanger
and many other bugs
its the most mad phone software
and i reinsttal the soft ware and phormat the memory and every thing still like that

N78 keypad issue

Hi,
I have bought a N78 few weeks ago and since the first time I used it I found a problem with keypad.
Often, the press of the ANSWER key (green key) doesn't show the "dialled numbers" screen but it works as I had pressed the LEFT SELECTION KEY shortcut (that is over it).
At the beginnind I thought to a hardware problem due to the keypad of my phone, but 'every time' that it happens if I "enable" and then "disable" the keypad-lock then the ANSWER key came back to work properly!!!, so I think it's a SOFTWARE bug because if it's a HW problem the keypadlock enable->disable trick shouldn't work every time! No?
Is there someone who have the same problem?
I tried also to update the firmware with FOTA to the v11.043.051.1 but without any results.

yes mine has got the same button problem with the back button i am beginning to regret paying £300 now none of my software works ie garmin xt i down loaded laatest update as well media safe wont work eather i would have thought nokia would have made sure software backward compatable.i have had this now for 6 weeks i bought it from cpw sim free as i use 02 simplis card,this is my 4th one now all with button problems cpw say that i cant change it again as its my 4th one i would have to have it repaired i am not bothered about getting it repaired but i dont think they have a fix for the button problem yet so what the use of sending it in till i see on hear that there is a fix.i realey like this phone it would be a keeper for me i only hope they come up with an answer for the button and 3rd party soft ware compatibly.dose anyone else have garmin xt working on n78 i would love to know if there is a fix.(COME ON NOKIA WHATS WRONG WITH THE BUTTONS IS IT A SOFTWARE OR HARDWARE FIX)Nokia n78 Firmware is V11.043

N78 tim stuck with 12.046

As i connect to update the phone it showes me 12.046, is latest firmware for my mobile product code. It is n78 TIM brand with code 0566811. Any ideas

When a phone has a network's customised version of the software, that network must approve thupdates before Nokia can release them.
In any case, you have the same version that most generic N78s have - I have not heard of a version greater than 12 for the latest N-series models.

Nokia N78 FM Transmitter stopped working

I was trying to activate the FM transmitter on my N78 tonight. I tried to turn it on from the music player -> FM Transmitter -> On. THe confrimation message 'transmitting at 92.6Mhz...' was displayed however when I tuned my radio to 92.6, nothing is there (not even the usual 'beep' sound coming from the transmitter). It was as if the transmitter was off the whole time. I've tried different frequencies, different locations and different radios. Is the FM transmitter broken?
FYI the firmware I am using is 20.149.051.1

Nokia N78 has FM Transmitter Antenna fixed at the inside of battery cover (back cover).If this battery cover is not placed propperly the antenna will not come in contact with circuit points .So do following tests
1. Open the back cover and check if the antenna is in tact . You can find the antenna mounted inside of the back cover.This antenna is so thin that it is covered or sealed with a film for shilding purpose.So it usually does not
get spoiled unless we dont play with it.
2.Replace the cover back.
3.Switch off the phone and restart
4.Check if it shows transmitting at frequency--and a small transmitting icon is displayed at the right top corner .
5. Still if you are not getting the transmission then you may have to replace the back cover with orginal one.

Nokia N78 Bluetooth A2DP Connection Problem

Nokia N78 is said to support A2DP Bluetooth connection but how can I turn on the A2DP Bluetooth connection? Can anyone help me?
I have no problem pairing and connecting my N78 to SONY DRC BT-15 but the sound I hear through the SONY device is definitely not A2DP at all. The sound sucks. When I connect my SONY DRC-BT 15 with my MacBook, I can choose to listen by Mono or Stereo Mode, and when I choose the Stereo Mode(I guess it's what we call A2DP), the sound through the SONY device is good.
So how can make the SONY headset to connect to N78 via A2DP to listen to good music?
I have been trying for hours. This problem makes me crazy.
I would really appreciate your help.

My Nokia N78 (firm 30.011) doesn't refresh the lib...

I have Nokia N78 30.011 and a have a very annoying bug. I updated the firmware version from 20.149 to 30.011 and since then i cannot upload music to the music library. I copy it to my microSD card and put the option to refresh the music library.... and nothing. I tried to upload the music files via Nokia Music Manager and still nothing. I reinstalled the phone software but i still cannot refresh the library. The songs which are uploaded before the update are in the library but i cannot input nothing more. With my older version of the phone software i don't have such problems. Should i return my phone software to the previous version (and how)?

Hi penio, first of all try to delete these files - You can do this to rebuild the library as it is corrupted.
Restart your device and then refresh your library. If this doesn't help then;
Connect the phone to your PC/laptop and put in 'Data transfer' mode.
To delete the library files:
- Ensure you can see hidden files in Windows Explorer:
Windows Explorer .. Tools .. Folder Options .. View
Select "Show hidden files and folders"
- Connect the phone to your PC using the USB cable in "Data transfer" mode
- Find and rename (or delete if you're really brave) files with names like:
E:\private\101FFC31\mpxv1.mpd
E:\private\101FFC31\pcv5.mpd
E:\private\101ffca9\harvesterdb.dat
(assuming the phone's mass memory / card has been connected as E)
Note that the folder names may be different and the files may have prefixes - eg: mpxv1.mpd could be called abcmpxv1.mpd. Basically, you need to search under the Private folder for any files that look similar.
Now just refresh the Music Player library and the job is done.
This will take longer than normal as it's a complete refresh, but it should now work.
If this doesn't work then format your memory card but copy your IMP stuff.

Time issue seems odd to me

I put a secondary domain and po at a remote location - running 8.03 on Sles/Oes and moved all of the "local" users to that po.
while everything seems to run ok we have a weird time issue.
Mail into and out of the new mailboxes shows a three and a half hour time difference both in the date column in the groupwise client and in the printed header of the email.
The odd thing is that if I go to the properties of the email - the Creation date and the File date and time are both correct.
I can't see any time issues with the servers (primary or secondary) and especially something that would be 3:30 minutes off
there is a timezone difference between the pri and sec but that's just 1 hour.
Any thoughts?
As a workaround I have had my users add the creation column to see when they actually received the email as our clients have time critical projects.

Thanks for the reply - Oh how I wish it were that easy - I've checked and double checked the PO object and the domain object - both say US eastern time.
If I send email from a mailbox on the secondary to the primary - everything is correct (a 1 hour time difference - Eastern to Central)
If I send mail from a mailbox on the primary to the secondary - it shows up right away, but says 3:30 minutes later than it should (in Date/Time, but not in Created)
If I send email from a mailbox on the secondary to a GMail account - the header shows the 3:30 offset, but the properties of the mail shows correctly.
I would be happy to send email from that po to anyone that wants to see for themselves.
Other than the PO Object and the DOM object - Where should I be looking for a time difference
and how would it be getting UTC minus 30 minutes - - Is there a special timezone out there for Hy Brasil?
The workstations all get their time settings from "time.windows.com" the windows default.
Thanks for looking into this - I just hope that I can get it figured out because as small of an issue that I think it is (they get their email, it just looks like it gets read before they officially receive it)
but it seems that this office uses the received time to track how long it takes them to do their work.

In the normal practice, developers will try to find the similer infocube (as per the requirement) in the Business content. But always you will not be lucky to find such infocube in Business content. You need to create at your own to suite the business requirements. Regarding the characteristcs & key figure, it 's again depend on the requirements. Calculated object can be assign as key figure like. Sales qty, revenue & net sales etc. where as Dimesion (characteritcs) will be purely depends on the reporting point of view. Like Customer, Material & Sales Document type etc.
