Nokia N79 FM Transmitter Problem

Hi guys,
I'm from India and purchased an N79 about 6 months back.
I have updated my firmware to the latest 32.001.
However I seem to have a problem with the transmission of the FM Transmitter.
Earlier in firmware versions 11.XXX and 20.XXX the signal from the FM Transmitter used to be very clear, and the output from the speakers very neat. Almost as good as the car music system. However with the update in firmware, the signal is really low and there is a lot of disturbance when I'm transmitting. I tried to use different frequencies to transmit, but the result is the same. Kindly help me guys. I really love this phone and this application. Hope to get a solution soon.

Nokia n79 navi-wheel problem.

my nokia n79's navi wheel isnot working. its on from setting, navi light is glowing around center button but navi wheel is not give any response. my software version is 32.001, its a t-mobile unlocked fone.

Here are a couple of things to try (in this order):
Turn off phone, remove battery for 5 seconds, replace, turn on phone.
Adjust naviwheel setting to OFF, leave Settings application (return to standby), then open up Settings once more on turn naviwheel back on.
The naviwheel, as you might know, does not work across all applications; nor does it work beyond a certain "depth" of menus. You should test it at the "root" (first) level of the Menu application. If it doesn't work there, perhaps you need to back up your settings and data and reinstall your phone software. But first: do you have any applications which allow for key shortcuts or special key mappings? There could be a conflict there.
Finally, there have been problems with an electrical component behind the naviwheel, but this is more commonly associated with a general keyboard lockup.
Good luck, and maybe someone else will have some additional suggestions...

Nokia N79 FM transmitter repair

Hi there.
Few days ago I changed full cover of my N79.
I accidentally lost a small thingy that connects 4 pins at the back cover of phone to the motherboard.
After loosing that detail, FM transmitter stopped working.
My question would be if there is a place on web where I could order and by that detail. I've searched eBay and Google and only solution I found is to by middle cover that costs approximately 40 pounds but I need only one small detail.

We cannot allow discussions on self-repair on the forum because once you open the device yourself you may cause further damage to the device (as seems to be the case) and void any existing warranty. This is also stated in the forum guidelines.

NOKIA N79 BACKLIGHT PROBLEM

I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY NOKIA N79, WHEN I PLAY GAME AND BRING THE SCREEN IN STANDBY MODE BY PUTTING THE GAME IN BACKGRUNG AFTERSOME WHILE MY MOBILE'S BACKLIGHT SCREEN DOESNT WORK PROPERLY, EVEN IF I OPEN KEYPAD LOCK & PRESSES BUTTONS ITS LIGHT DOESN'T GET STARTED FOR SOMETIME, DO ANYBODY HAVE SOLUTION???

It seems that this isn't done on S60 Nokias any more, just S40 ones.

Do you have a very hgh no. of messages stored in the phone ? If so delete as amany as possible and check..

FM Transmitter for Nokia N79

I Bay now phone Nokia N79. The phone is great but application "FM Transmitter" is deleted.So how to back FM Transmitter in my phone.If someone now please help me.

N79's from some countries have the FM transmitter disabled to comply with laws in those countries.
I suggest you contact the retailer.
The app cannot be reinstalled.

I'm update firmware 32.001 for nokia n79 and gps signals cannot be received.
The satellite signals usually open between 6-9 after firmware update enabled satellite just 1-2
Please update the gps section in the next version of firmware

Hi, I report a bug in this firware versión. I've n79-3 rm 350 NAM. The problem is cannot acces to menu route when the languague is set in Spanish: Tools > Settings > Applications > ---- (before here appears App Settings or some else). But, when the langague set is English, this option appears
GPS signal reception: sometimes is take too long lock the GPS signal.

Hi,
I connected my N79 yesterday on my PC with Nokia OVI.
It tells me that there was a firmware update and launched it.
But during this update, It tells me there was a USB connection problem and launched again the update......during 20 minutes to tell me finaly that there was again a problem.
So, now, I can't start my phone. When I push the power button, the screen lights on few seconds and stop.
I tried to to a hard reset (format) with the three buttons :
1/ 3 + * + green button
2/ Start button with the three button pushed
....but nothing hapens.
When I try to charge the phone, nothing hapens.

N79 - Intermittent freezing problems

My problem started when i was using the browser. Suddenly it freezes and any key presses has no response. I off and on to reset but it work for a second then freezes again. I did a #*7370# with no help. Eventually I did a 4 finger reset and managed to get everything working again.
But now intermittently it still freezes and sometimes the selections keeps skipping to the next selection like a key git stuck. I have to off/on to get it working again.
Sometimes I also get the message that memory is low and I should delete some messages...or something but upon checking the phone's memory it is still free with 45MB and 6GB in my card. Again, I have to off/on to make it work again. It shows this memory full message when Im opening a text message. I cant read it until i off/on the phone.
Im on the 11.049 version

I am located in Malaysia. I am Chinese too.
Anyway I have not gone back to Nokia Service Center. I hope to solve the problem by myself. I will try to hard reset it again.
The problem is its so intermittent that its very difficult to determine what causes it because sometimes the problem changes. Sometimes I have to take out the battery to reset it. Sometimes just off/on will do the trick. Sometimes the key moves rapidly like its stuck and sometimes it just frozen and no key presses will do anything.
Have you taken it back to Nokia?

Nokia N96 RM247 WLAN PROBLEM

Hy people.Please help me i have problem with my third N96 and all with Home WLAN.I have also N95 8GB and she work great with my WLAN but N96 freeze on WLAN SEARCHING?!!!After start from WLAN ASISTENT my N96 freeze and restart the phone?!This is my third N96 and always i have bougt only original Nokia product and same problem with all of this three phones.I have updated my N96 via NSU from 11.011 to 12.043 and it is same problem.My wlan is with wpa security and i don't understand how work same wlan great on my N95 8GB but doest want to work with my N96?I thougt that first N96 who i have bought not OK is but it is same problem with second and now with third?!PLEASE HELP !

I must say (have n79 for 3 month) I have sometimes allso strangs behaviour with the Wlan. yesterday he tried to log on to HPSETUP wlan netwerk every second. I drove even to different place's by car. I found out because the baterie was down after 18 ours. and looking up in the logbook I found out. I made connection with an wlan network in the air at my new location (150 km south) and search on the web. Switch again to stop seaching wlan netwerk and he went now trying to connect to te last netwerk I made connection with. Then I put it in to offline mode and he was quiet. the next morning at work I started charching the batery and went too normal mode (did not restart). He did not want to connect to any wlan any more (as it should be). very strang. know he is just fine now.
Soo more things are weird.

Config aplication (Menu -> Tools -> Setting) is very slow and unstable******* This is working perfectly No issues.
I check on 3 N79 with V 30.019
When i set English as phone language,config app is fast and stable, but in my language (Czech) is really slow and unstable
Music player can't play by track number----------- Its playing without any issue
I ripp music CD to MP3. In ID3 tags i have settrack numbers. Now i copy all files to phone. Run music player, restore library. Phone create new Album. Play this album and phone plays songs by name.
In FW 11 phone can plays songs by track number...

Nokia N8 installing driver problem !! HELP ME !!!!

Hi guys, i recently bought a Nokia N8.
i've install Nokia Ovi Suit from folder that exist in my phone, it's completely install ovi suit and download Nokia N8's USB driver from internet and stores it in "C:\Program Files\Nokia\Connectivity Cable Driver".
when i connect the phone in Nokia Ovi Suit Mode via USB, windows can found it, but cannot install its drivers !!!
Windows says that: "Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it." (i use Windows Vista 32-bit, see below attachment)
what can i do ??!!! plzzzzz help me i need too run Ovi Suit !!!

I am having the exact same issue.
The Ovi store was installed first via the N8 built in software, then uninstalled and reinstalled using the latest Ovi version from Nokia's webinstaller download, but still no success with the Ovi connection.
The other file transfer modes work fine 'media transfer & 'mass storage' but the Ovi store is still unable to run due to Windows VISTA not being able to locate the drivers for the N8 software. (despite being installed!)
After accepting the prompt for Windows to locate the drivers... The same error as RayMond_021 screen shot appears.
"COMPUTER SAYS.... NO!"
Super frustrating! A brand new $800 phone and I can't even access the promised software (Ovi maps) that encouraged me to buy it!?
PLEASE HELP US!!!!!

NOKIA N79 CANT BACKUP CONTACT DATA TO MEMORY CARD

hello,
I am not able to backup the contact data of my nokia n79 to memory card. When performing the above function the progress bar progresses for sometime goes 50 % completed and then returns to the home screen. Tried formatting the phone/MC as well as re-flashed the firmware but no use. Is there anyone having similar issue ?. FYI the phone is under warranty and there is no proper response
from the nokia centre so i have decided to repair it myself. Is there any workaround for this issue ??

My question still stands though, if you look in the directory, has it actually backed up all your contacts or not? meaning are all the *.vcf files there.
if not, which file does is the last that was created, find the equivalent in the contacts database, and check if there is something wrong/different with the next contact compared to others?
Yes, there may be an error, but at least until it is fixed you may be able to work around it.
(I presume there is plenty of space on your memory card? note that the phone has a self imposed limit to prevent memory card from being completely full, so if card is very close to full it is possible that backup utility stops)

Does anyone know whether there will be a firmware update for Nokia N79 soon? Its been almost 8 months since the last one. I'm on v 32.001 and there has been no update thus far.

Nokia 5610 XpressMusic Startup Problem..

Hi, I have Nokia 5610 XM startup problem with memory card.. (I tried with 3 different micro SD card also)

If I remove the memory card, then it starts succefully.. And if I plug in back memory card, then phone restarts in 2hours or in calling time... sorry about my English..

it sounds like it could be the memory card connectors or something like that if you say that it works fine without the card in, you might want to take it to nokia care point for them to have a look at this issue.
