Nokia N8-00 Unsent Messages

Dear Friends,
I have a problem with a N8-00 mobile, exactly speaking with the outbox messages (SMS). I have one text message in my outbox folder, which I'm not able to remove/cancel/abort what so ever. When I hold on over it, no menu appears. While clicking, the message does not open.
I was wondering whether there is any way to enter the filesystem (locally or remotely via USB) to the mobile and just remove index file/folder of my text outbox? That pretty annoying the "(1)" in Unsent folder.
All the best,
Przemek M. Zawada

Hellow,
I managed to find a way to delete the unsend messages from outbox, whithout deleting the conversations.
You need to download a program named activefile from here. Ther before install-it on the phone, you need to sign it. You can singn the application using this site. To obtain a cerfificate you must create a account here. Creating the cerfiticate takes several hours. (max. 5 hours). After the certificate is created, from your account you can sign the application. (upload-it and the site will do all the triks. Then you can download the application on your pc and install-it on your phone.
After installing, opent the application from Applications. At options, you`ll see message manager. From there, you can select the unwanted message from outbox andt delete-it.
Works 100%.

  • In mail, how do I cancel the notification "1 unsent message"?

    Hello,
This might be a pretty basic question. I had an email account setup that would not send messages on my current network (at College). I went to the IT department and they asked me to delete that account and setup a new one using Microsoft Exchange. That is all fair and well: I can send and receive emails from that account without a problem.
However, in that old account (the one I deleted), I had a message saved in my Outbox. Now that that account has been deleted, I cannot find that saved message in order to delete it. Mail currently believes that there still exists an unsent message, when in reality there isn't. When my Mail application shows the inbox of both my School account and my Gmail account, there exists at the bottom of the screen a notification saying, "1 Unsent Message."
I would like help in either 1) locating the message so that I can delete it or 2) somehow refreshing Mail so that it does not count that message as "unsent." Thank you.

Well, I apologize for taking up space on this forum with such an inane question. I got the message to notification to disappear after restarting my iPod touch. I suppose that solution (restarting) will help to clear up many of the inane problems that may plague anyone's iPod touch.

  • Nokia 5130 mobile saved messages are not visble no...

Nokia 5130 mobile saved messages are not visble not but still show in memory details, my mobile just restrated and with i turn back it on my saved messsages were not visible please help on that

Try to check the saved messages in the sim card. You may also try a power cycle by turning the phone off, removing the battery and pressing the power button without the battery for 8-10 seconds. You can also do a soft reset by pressing Menu > Settings > Rest. factory sett. > Restore settings only so that it will bring back the phone to its original state.

  • Cannot open any folders within thunderbird or send unsent messages after computer (ubuntu) closed suddenly whilst using programme

I use ubuntu. The computer ran out of battery power and closed whilst I was using thunderbird. On restarting thunderbird later, I found that I could not open any folders or send any unsent messages. When I close the programme, I cannot restart it because it says thunderbird is already open, but if I use killall -9 thunderbird I am told there are no thunderbird processes running. I've checked my profile and there is no lock file or parentlock file. Someone suggest deleting the global messages database, but this hasn't helped at all.
If I am slow responding to any questions, please be patient, tonight is my last night with a decentinternet connection - before returning to my rural African home, where we get download speeds of 15kb/s on a good day.
    Thanks,
    Karen

Do you run some sort of anti-virus software on the Ubuntu computer?
Do you have a backup of your profile folder? If not, now is a good time to create one.
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-tb#w_backing-up-a-profile
There might be some sort of corruption in connection with your Inbox folder.
Try to rebuild the index file within Thunderbird:
Right click on Inbox in Thunderbird, select Properties, and then press the Rebuild Index button.

  • Unsent Messages Flood Screen When Opening Mail

I've been using Entourage for mail with Bellsouth, but I frequenly have a problem with several hundred messages that I've already read downloading again. So...I'm thinking of switchin to Mail. But when I open Mail to give it a test the screen floods with hundreds of unsent messages. The only way to delete one is to say I want to edit the message. Only then does the red delete button activate and when I click on that I get a message asking if I want to save it or delete it. Is there any easier way to delete all of these unsent messages or stop them from popping up?

Look into the mail accounts and delete their profiles. You should not lose any data you entered into contacts or calendar. After you delete them re-enter the profiles again. Hopefully it should resume working again.

  • Unsent Message & No Service

I am having two minor difficulties with my 3GS. Despite the fact that all my email messages have "sent" properly, my mail program still acts like it is trying to send a message, but can't. Whenever I open my mail, it tries to "send" - and I get a message that I have an "unsent" message. There's no unsent message sitting in my outbox to erase. I've tried restating and re-setting the phone, but it doesn't help.
Also, recently, I keep getting an annoying message saying that the phone signal is lost. Since I live in a house where the phone signal is weak - and fluctuating - this message pops up repeatedly - so that it interferes with other uses of the phone, like applications / Internet. Is there any way to turn this message off? The message only started to pop up after a recent software update. It must be new. Very frustrating . . .
    Thanks,
    Paul Hamilton

If you are in the same physical area where you formerly had service, it sounds like an issue with your cellular carrier.  Either they did something to your account or (less likely) perhaps they have an issue with their towers.

  • Mail says '1 unsent message' though there is no message to be sent?

iPhone 3GS, 3.1.2 installed and all else working properly at the moment.
Mail program (Mobile Me) says '1 unsent message' though there is no message waiting to be sent.
Am concerned and wanting to fix this because it is draining my battery 1% a minute it seems.
What do I need to do?
Have tried removing and re-installing. Unsure what else to try?
It is my understanding it works in sync with Mobile Me as well as my macbook mail app. I have no mail that needs to be sent on either.
Any help anyone can offer would be so greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

Here is how to do it:
switch on airplane mode in the settings. go to mail and write an email from the account, where the "unsent mail" is stuck. compose a new mail and send it. since you are in airplane mode it is unable to send it and will put it in the "outbox" and make the "outbox" visible. Now there are two mails, the newly composed one and the old stuck one. If all you want ins delete them, just do the swipe-delete (the edit, delete buttons wont work in airplane mode).

  • MIssing Outbox and an Unsent Message

My iPhone has a message at the bottom of the email screen that says I have 1 unsent message. I assume that would be in my Outbox, but that has disappeared! I have all my mailboxes from Mail on the iPhone, but there is nothing in the Mail Draft folder. I need to know what message was not sent! And I would like to get that annoying message off. Any ideas?
    Thanks very much,
    Ben

Same issue here - 2 unsent messages on mine. I recently changed my gmail passwords as advised and I had to delete the account and reset it up to get it to work as it said the password was wrong (even though it was the new password and was correct.
Anyway - I do use airplane mode a lot as I dont get very good reception and use the wifi - but I obviously turn airplane mode off when I am out and about- so I will try this, this afternoon to see if it will get rid of them. I dont even know what emails they are which is the annoying thing...
Hopefully it'll fix - if anyone else has a solution do let us know!!
    Cheers

  • Unsent messages seem to have disappeared;

I created 27 email messages this morninga nd they all remained unsent (with a red exclamation mark in the outbox).
I followed the user community suggestions and eventually deleted and reinstalled my Exchange account.
Now the messages have disappeared - have I lost them completely?

Thanks Jim, I was afraid someone would say that...
is there any cure for the unsent messages because I now have another four in thesame condition ; I will just need to stop using the ipad as an email tool if this persists.

  • Can't delete unsent messages, name list is too long

This morning, I tried to send an email with a bcc list over 200 (a standard mailing list I use all the time). Unfortunately, the server wouldn't let me send it because of a single bad address. Now what I have in my Mail program is the unsent message on the screen, with the warning, "Cannot send message using the server mail.xxx.edu:xxx. The server "mail.xxx.edu" did not recognize the following recipients:" And then it lists all 200 names.
The problem is that the buttons that normally appear at this time (Edit Message, Try with Selected Server) are all the way off the bottom of the screen, so I can't cancel the message. All I can do is minimize it; it seems like the message is stuck there permanently.
The obvious solutions have failed. I can't scroll the list of names downward. I can't push the top of the message past the top of the screen. I can't quit the program and restart, because the message just comes right back. I can't zoom the screen out in order to see the buttons. There are no active cancel buttons at the top of the message. Help, thank you!
    - Erin

    Hello,
I just got the same problem. The list is blocking any access to the mail I want to send. I can at least minimize the window of that mail, allowing me to read and send other mails.
But this is really, really bugging me. I need to send a mail to the alumni of my university program, so I've composed a long mail with a lot of information. Now I can't even copy it to another mail because the message is there, blocking.

  • Unsent messages

    Hi,
My e-mail system is on the webmail server. I have 8 unsent messages and the bottom of the Inbox always displays a message that the e-mails are being sent (1 of 8, 2 of 8, etc.), but they never get sent. I also appear to not be able to send e-mails, although incoming e-mails are normal. I recently rebooted the entire iPhone when I had the white apple logo that would not go away. I had to delete the phone of all data and then restore it, after which the e-mail problem appeared to be solved. But it is now acting up again. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have the exact same issue.
When I enter Mail, it starts trying to send messages. Then it delays for couple minutes and finally just changes the status to "X unsent messages". Every time.
No window warning, nothing. Only thing I suspect is that it was mail generated by some third app. When I compose within mail, it sends just fine (except it won't forward attachment, but this is another issue).
Also, I can't see the messages it is trying to send anywhere to be able to edit or even delete them.
As advised, I've tried 3G, wifi, different SMTP configurations and reboot. Nothing worked a bit.
I've got gmail configured, though disabled, along with exchange, the one I use.
    *update 01*
But I just now I've got this topic: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=10342137#10342137 and theycallmetombo 's solution helped me a bit.
He said basically to turn on airplane, turn off wifi, create a new message and send it. It will go to the now visible outbox! Simple trick really, I should have thought about it.
With that trick I can see the unsent messages were really third party generated messages. One of them by "Meet Me Here" for instance, and they all had attachments! Maybe it's not a different issue, as I've mentioned before.
I still can't send them, tho, but I hope this also helps you a bit.
    *update 02*
Well, it was an issue with multiple accounts after all. Just need to have them configured properly... One of them was working with the SMTP, and when I used the mail app it would send through that. The other one, which seemed to be the default for other apps, and despite of being well configured, was not working. It needed some tweaking, and now both are working. I won't get into details as this is already covered many places and my specific configuration won't help anyone.

  • Negative unsent messages count

    Hi,
I have multiple mail accounts defined, with my Yahoo account set as the default account. Earlier today I tried to send a message with a shaky WiFi connection and received an error message that the message could not be sent.
Not sure what kind of crazy bug kicked in as a result but the next thing I know, iPhone is uncontrollably sending messages from one of my personal IMAP accounts through my Yahoo account to various email addresses. Somehow this stopped after tens of emails were already sent out. The problem is that now the status bar says that I have 4294967214 unsent messages (yes, 4294967214 - it's not a typo), probably the result of a hex representation of a negative number.
When I look at my Outbox, I see a message count of -81 but no messages are displayed (probably because the number is negative) and therefore I cannot swipe-delete the Outbox's content. Does anyone know of a way other than individual swipe-delete to force the Outbox folder to delete all of its content?
    Thanks
    Dan

Sadly, that didn't work either. I had four email accounts defined. I removed all of them and then reset the phone. When I added an email account back in, the same problem persisted.
Next I sent 82 emails so that I reset the message counter to a positive number. I was then able to see one message in the Outbox which I swipe-deleted. The rest were hidden and could only be made visible if you search by "from address". Unfortunately, the search results table does not allow swipe-delete. So all messages were sent out and I'm back in square one.
I'd appreciate additional ideas on how to solve this issue.
    Thanks,
    Dan

  • 4294967295 Unsent Messages!

I've had iPhone 3.0 OS since it came out last week but starting today I have a message on the bottom of my mail box saying I have "4294967295 Unsent Messages." I'm not making up this number either! I have only a single mail account setup on my phone and it's a Gmail account.
I have tried the following to no avail:
    1. Full restart (holding home and lock button until apple logo appears)
    2. Force quit Mail.app (now with the 3.0 runaround-hold the lock button until the power off dialog appears, then hold the home button).
    3. Deactivated then reactivated my Gmail account.
Anyone else have this issue? Other ideas?
    Thanks.

I, too, have this same issue. Mine has been there since before upgrading to 3.0. But interestingly, my number is 4294967292 unsent messages! I did a Google search for this before arriving at this topic and came up with a TCP/IP document that said that 4 packets = 4294967292 bytes! Anyway, sorry for no cure, I just thought it interesting my number was 3 off from yours and the TCP/IP packet size. BTW, I haven't tried the Restore cure. Will I loose pix, tunes, apps, etc.?

  • Unsent Message

I have a "1 Unsent Message" message at the bottom of my screen when in Mail on my iPhone. Then I have I dialog box that says Cannot Send Mail. The connection to the outgoing server "smtp.mac.com" failed. I cannot find this message anywhere. Help!!

    Hey gang,
I don't have a cure but maybe a litle more info.
When I first setup email on my iPhone I recieved the "cannot send mail-incorrect sender email address" message.
I believe the email setup automatically added the domain name to the domain name I entered during setup ([email protected]).
After deleteing and re-entering email setup and accounting for the auto input, all is 'well'.I can send/recieve email w/o issue.
EXCEPT! Everytime I open email, the iPhone tries to send the original, erroneous email and I have to 'cancel' several times.
I was under the impression that I somehow deleted the 'Outbox' from my iPhone but have not tried to 'restore' my device as the issue is minor and I have not fully read through the restore process and all that could be effected.
    HTH.
    J.

  • Unsent message with Invalid Sender Address: NOT in OUTBOX!

I have an unsent email that is stuck "somewhere", the result of accidentally entering the incorrect email address when modifying a mobileMe account. When it tries to send, I used to get "Sender Address Invalid". But there are no messages left in the Outbox to delete.
So now at the bottom center of the MAIL screen it says "1 Unsent Message". And every so often it'll try sending it ("Sending 1 of 1). But then it'll just stop -- with no messages.
Restarting the iPhone doesn't clear it out.
Where is this message sitting? And how does one zap it?

One thing that might help out.
Go to settings > mail, contacts, calendars > your mail account.
Then tap on smtp to view all your servers.
Make sure your primary server is on.
Then go through and turn on all your secondary servers.
Go back into mail and see if you have an outbox with an unsent message.
    Hope this helps.
