Nokia N8-00 upgrade to Nokia Belle gives confusing...

During the upgrade process I receive a warning message telling me:
"Don't use the mobile N8-00, shut ift off, or remove the cable or the unit will stop working".
So, therefore I tried to shut it off. Immidiately I receive an errormessage telling me that the upgrade process stopped and I have to replace the cable.
Two times during the upgrade process I received this confusing message and two times I had to replace the cable so the upgrade process could continue.

think the clue is in the bit thats says, DONT TOUCH YOUR PHONE OR CABLE.
it means it is updating. you can brick your phone doing it. can take a while and will sometime seem to be frozen

Nokia Belle upgrade on Nokia X7 - Security Code er...

I have just upgraded to Belle software but now there is an annoying thing were I keep getting asked for a security code (which I hadn't used previously) on boot up, if you put the default code in it fails(12345,00000), but if you cancel you can still operate the phone normally.
Very odd...Anyone have any fixes for this?

my E7-00 is asking for a security code in start up, not for a new security code , can i treat it the same ? knowing that i was using a different code than the default before the update.

Nokia C6-01 cant upgrade to Symbian Belle from Sym...

Pls advise me how to solve this problem cause i cant upgrade my C6-01 to Symbian Belle using Nokia Suite 3.3.89.

First check whether Nokia belle is available for your phone's product come and region. Check belle availability page of Nokia Europe's website. If its available, try updating with the latest Nokia suite. Check whether your antivirus is blocking connection to your Nokia suite. Refresh repeatedly for the update to appear. Try advancing the date a few days or weeks and check again. If nothing works, take your phone to Nokia care and they'll update it for you. All the best.

it is IMPOSSIBLE to upgrade c6-00 to nokia belle due to hardware limitations. You are asking to update a pc running windows 98 to windows 8.

After upgrading to Noka Belle everything went fine, but today when i tried to switch off my Nokia N8 by pressing the power off buttong, "Switch Off Phone" option was not available on the screen, it showed only Lock Phone, profiles etc. when i tried by long press the mobile got switched off. but when i powered it on... there was no data like my whole pictures, videos, contacts, messages all got erased. i did restored the same from my backup, but whenever i swtich off and on all the data is getting erased. this is very strange... how to over come this probelm? is there any way i can reinstall sybian anna again?... please help.

You could try a factory reset (which will delete ALL data on the phone and restore it to 'factory' conditions).
Settings - Phone - Phone Management - Factory Settings - Delete Data and Restore.
Try this first off. Re-sync your data and turn the phone off and on again.
If the problem persists, perform a factory reset and then re-install the firmware.
If you go to the 'software update' menu, you will be shown the firmware version that you are running. You will also be given the option to re-install the Belle firmware.
Re-install the firmware, then re-sync your phone. Turn your phone off and see if the problem persists, hopefully this will sort it out. If not take it to a Nokia Care Point and see if they can identify the problem.
You will not be able to reinstall Anna without reflashing your phone, however this will likely void any warranty and cannot be discussed on this forum.
The NCC may be able to reinstall the Anna firmware for you, however try what I have suggested above as you may have a corrupted firmware and re-installation may cure the problem.

As a rule you are not permitted to downgrade software. However you can try your nearest Nokia care centre and try to give them sufficiently strong reason. They MAY agree to downgrade. Decision is solely dependent on them.
And yes, please dont fall prey to the tricks available on internet.

Nokia belle feature pack 1 update for nokia 603?

would any official from nokia please tell me if nokia 603 will be upgraded from 1ghz to 1.3 ghz like 700 and 701?. Many people owning 603 are asking about this and if no, would you please give us the reason aren't 603, 700 and 701 identical hardware wise and software wise?) and also if no, will this affect future upgrades and updates for 603 i mean : will it get the same upgrades and updates of 700,701 and 808 after belle fp1 update ?!!)

Fire up software update app on your phone. You should get the update prompt, if it is available for your product code. Else check it via Nokia suite. If both these options give no result- visit nearest Nokia care.

First of all, thank you so much Nokia for this awesome firmware upgrade.
My N8 became new again!!!
I have a question, though,
¿Will at some point be available to us (ex-Symbian^3 users) those beautiful widgets that we can see all over the web from the Belle leaked versions?
I mean the weather widget, the reduced music player widget, the 2G/3G toggle widget, Mobile Data Track widget, the offline widget, BlueTooth Toggle widget, etc.

Hi hi,
No your device will not receive Belle FP2, that is only for the newer Symbian^3 devices, therefore N8, E7, C6-01, X7, E6, C7, 500 etc will never receive Belle FP2, only the newer ones such as the 808 PureView, 700, 603, and 701.
There is an app that I can't remember the name of that copies the style of the N9 where you can slide to unlock the screen etc, and has the same font as the MeeGo OS etc etc, its in the Nokia Store.
Lastly, as Symbian is now in maintenance mode, there will be no more firmware updates made available for such devices, as the focus is now on Asha models and the Windows Phone platform with the Lumia range of phones.

For those of you waiting for the Tesco update, have you tried visiting an NCC to get a generic version put on? I know with the Anna update I got mine done early coz I couldn't be bothered to wait for Tesco to release their version. As for the overall response to Belle, I've chosen to give it a miss. Unless FP1 really sorts a lot of Belles issues out.

Flash player problem for nokia belle devices

hey nokia family..
i am a user of nokia n8 and that is my favourite cell phone but now there is no update available for nokia belle devices and these devices do not support adobe flash player any more, even 808 pure view is one of the new devices by nokia but it is also unable to stream videos over net, so this is a request to nokia family that please do not forget his old customers and belle users and please give an update for these devices..

Adobe are the ones who are in control of Flash for mobiles and they took the decision quite a long time ago to stop all support and development for Flash for all mobile devices.
You will not therefore be receiving any further support from anyone regarding Flash for your mobile devices.

No, it's not true. There will always be a slight risk when updating mobile phones so backup all of your important files first. If you do experience any technical faults during the update, you can have it looked at at your nearest Nokia Care Centre.
