Nokia n8 3G connection

Hi,
I have some concerns about the dual mode connection setting. My n8 connects in edge even if 3G is available. If I change in 3G mode, it connects in 3G, if I change again in dual it rests in 3G, but after a while (maybe when I lost 3G), change again in edge and rests like this, even if 3G is again available. Im in France, SFR operator. Do you have any hints ?
Thanks

Hi
Sometimes when switching battery power  from economic mode to normal mode , network connectivity don't return to "Dual Mode". You need to switch it manually.
Bests Regards

  • Nokia 5800 keeps connecting to WiFi every day.....

I do not know y my nokia 5800 keeps connecting to wifi every day...few times a day...
i have to manually disconnect the wifi but it will connect again later on....
i think it could be a virus or bug  when i already set to manual connection for the search availability option...
could someone explain to me asap the CAUSE of it...ty

Another culprit is Share Online. Even caught me out once... I came to the (obviously false) conclusion that some theme contained a form of malware and was doing naughty things, bit then remembered that I'd set share online to update automatically every 6 hours.

  • Nokia E5 wireless connectivity is plain bad

I have compared wifi connectivity of Nokia E5 with other P*d brand on our corporate wifi network.
Both phones were on my desk  next to each other so wifi signal and interference was the same for both.
Result: Nokia E5, packet loss 30%
Packet sent with a source address of 192.168.241.1
    other brand, 0% packet loss
Packet sent with a source address of 192.168.241.1
    Nokia firmware: 042.007.232.01,  E5-00, RM-632
This is a big issue as it will probably lead to a non-support status of the Nokia E5 on our corp. network.
    regards,
    Geert

I just tested with a Nokia C6-00, same problem.
On the Nokia C6-00 Connection Manager Status screen, i can see the wifi going "active" "inactive" "active" "inactive" several times. It seems the Nokia does not keep a permanent wifi connection but tries to save some power (?) from the moment it does not need to "send" a packet ? I tried to disable power savings but that didn't help (same as with the nokia E5). I am out of options. It seems our corporate wifi network is having troubles with this "active" "inactive" switching. Anyone know what this exactly is ?

  • My Nokia phone cannot connect to Nokia Suite (E6-0...

    Hello,
I have the following problem. 2 days ago I updated my Nokia Suite with a new version ... Everything went smooth, but, when I tried to connect my phone (both E6 and C5) the suite displayed an error message saying that the phone is not connected in PC Suite mode ... I checked the setting on both phones and both were in PC SUite mode.
I emailed the Nokia support and they suggested me to reset the phone to factory settings ... I did it, but the problem still persists ... Then I tried to reinstall the Suite ... But without any result ... I still cannot connect the devices to Nokia suite.
Any suggestions on how to solve this issue? Are there others that are experiencing the same issue?

    Hi EugeniuSp,
    - Which Windows version and which Windows Service Pack do you have installed?
    After that, please try following:
    - First, disconnect both phones from your PC.
    - Then reboot your PC
    - When PC has started again, start again Nokia Suite
    - Try now connecting your phone in PC Suite mode to your PC via USB cable
    - Does Nokia Suite now connect to your phone?
If that didn't help, try following:
    - Disconnect your phone from PC
    - Go into WIndows Control Panel
    - Search there installed programs
    - Uninstall Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
    - Restart your PC
    - When PC has restarted, please run again Nokia Suite installation package (available from www.nokia.com/nokiasuite) and choose repair option
    - After Nokia Suite installation has completed, try connecting your phone again to your PC.
    - Does Nokia Suite now connect to your phone?
    Cheers, Samuli

  • Nokia 808 internet connection issue / limited conn...

Hi I have bought a Nokia 808 yesterday and the wifi connectivity has major issues.
When connected to wifi access point it is almost always followed by limited connectivity.
I can browse the internet using the browser but the following do not work:
Setting up new email - tries to connect and times out
Maps - Cannot download maps, stuck on 0 % - keeps telling me that im not connected
Weather - doesnt update, always says try again later
Nokia Sync - Thinks its not connected to the internet
Pretty much all internet based apps think im not connected
But as soon as I launch browser it works and opens all pages.
Also stores sometimes opens and says its not available in your country. I want to know why Nokia is selling a phone in my country with local nokia company guarantee and local language support on software and on packaging, but somehow does not give our country access to apps.
I have a Level One WBR6600 modem, never had issues connecting. Updated to latest firmware. All other devices work on the access point, only the nokia has problems.
I have reset countless times to original settings
Deleted access point / re added
I have tried changing access point security to WEP ,  WPA   , WPA2 , and no security, made no difference
I think the problem is not my modem, but the phone. I have tried Tethering from my iphone to nokia and still very limited connectivity.
I have been using iphones for the past few years, and this phone was only appealing because of the camera, but I am very disapointed with the software of the phone. I feel like I downgraded phones. Right now without internet connectivity its a pretty strange phone.
Also very strange to see that the phone has a wiered VPN setup. Its impossible for me to setup my vpn accounts on it, it is asking me for some policies, i think it only supports corprate vpn access and not web serving vpns, like ALL OTHER phones do, with the easiest set up.
    please help.

thanks emprazol, you are right, we are discussing this also here: http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Connectivity/Nokia-808-Belle-FP1-bug-WLAN-works-but-not-all-apps-can...

  • E71x nokia pc suite connection problems

Everytime i  connect my phone to my computer and open Nokia Suite, it says that my phone is connected in a non-compatible mode. i do now know how to connect it in a "compatible way".

The phone should wake up when it makes the physical connection on USB and ask if you want to connect "PC Suite' if you have the correct configuration set. Go to Menu ->Settings ->Configurations->Connection->Data Cable->Data Cable Mode. Select 'PC Suite' from the options.  A better solution is to select the next setting below it, "ask on connection" set it to "yes" so that when you plug the phone in, you will have the choice.  In any case, that's where you tell the phone you want to have it communicate with PC Suite when connected.
If you are using Bluetooth, it appears the phone defaults to PC Suite, so I can't help you there.
    Good luck!

  • Nokia 303 , problem connecting with WIFI at my uni...

hi all, i am facing a problem, it seems that there is no option in my Nokia Asha 303 phone to connect it with the WIFI at my university, the security here is shown as WPA2-PSK
I searched on the internet but there are only guides for symbian phones, can any one confirm that weather this phone can be connected via WIFI over this type of security?

    Hi jawwadkhalid,
Thank you for your first post and welcome to the Nokia discussion forums.
What error are you getting with you are trying to connect to the WiFi at your university?
Are you sure you are entering the correct pass key to connect to the WiFi?
Is your phone actually finding the WiFi?
If you can elaborate further on the exact issue you are facing please.
In the meantime I have attached a link to guide on how to connect to different WiFi spots for your device.

  • E71 Using Nokia Suite to connect to the internet

This may be a Nokia Suite problem but the first time I add my E71, via Bluetooth, to Nokia Suite I can use the phone to connect to the internet successfully.
After I shut my PC down and reboot the connection will not work, Nokia Suite tells be that it "Cannot establish a network connection".
The cure is that every time I wish to use I have to remove the phone from Nokia Suite then add it in again.
This is a laborious process and should be totally unnecessary.
I'm using Windows 7, the laciest version of Nokia Suite, have the latest software on my E71 & all the latest drivers, Bluetooth etc, installed.
In functional terms it seems after that initial use something is not getting 'released' or 'reset' properly.
Nokia please help me why your software is not working.

  • Nokia N86 problem connecting to BT Home Hub

I am having problems connecting to my BT home hub with my new Nokia N86. I have used the WLAN wizard and entered the WEP code but when I go to connect I get the message 'Gateway could not be found'. I have been using it without any problems with my Nokia N95
    Can anyone help please?

Have you looked at the hubs log to see if it gives a reason for refusing the N86?
It's a while since I had the original hub so can't tell you exactly where to look.
You may also want to ask your question on forum below as it's more likely the hub that needs it's settings changed than the phone:

  • Nokia 206 always connected to the internet

    Hallo,
my Nokia 206 connects automatically to the internet and downloads a few kilobytes soon after turning on the phone. It remains connected then although I don't use the internet connection at all. Why is this happening? I am paying a fixed price per kB for internet connection and don't want to pay for each start of the phone. However, I don't want to turn mobile data off since I do use the e-mail and MMS functionality.
    Best,
    Jakub

Hallo once again and thank you very much! The restore settings tip actually solved the problem!
It's funny because I've tried restoring the phone once before already with no luck, but I likely messed with Viber afterwards again that time. The phone now appears to connect just when I need it (checking mail & MMS) and I hope it keeps this behaviour for its entire lifetime.
Thanks again to everyone for their responses!

  • Nokia 6080 cannot connect to pc.....

I had install driver cable CA-53 but window shows that one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and window does not recognize it...
    What should i do ? ?

I uninstalled PC Suite & used PC Cleaner to remove all files. Restarted.
1st installed Only the cable driver. No luck.
2: Installed PC Suite 6.82.27.0. Restarted. No Luck. Ran the .bat file from Miksu's advice to register all .dll files. Rebooted. No luck.
When I connect the cable to the phone, the phone displays:
    i Data Enhancement connected
    i Enhancement not supported
When Windows 2000 prompted to install the cable. It could not find a suitable driver. So I chose "Have Disk" and browsed to
    "C:\Program Files\Nokia\Connectivity Cable Driver"
Many Nokia **** USB Modems were listed.
*NO driver for Nokia 6080 was listed*
That is why I conclude that Nokia has not created support for the 6080 in their cable drivers.
I tried Nokia 6085. It installed, but the cable no-longer shows up under connected USB devices and the "modem" would not respond. uninstalled that.
Has anyone with the 6080/CA-42 had success?
