Nokia n8 3g staying on

Has their been a solution for the n8 3g's signal staying on all the time, tried turning off all apps, tried turning packet data to only when needed, access is turned to manual, only had this problem for the last two days, only way to turn off 3g connection is manually in connection manager, seems like a common fault , might need a software update fix, or has anybody sorted out this problem,

Nokia Lumia Flash Stays lit except when using came...

For some reason my Nokia Lumia camera flash stays lit when I am trying to use the phone other than when I am using the camera itself. THis causes the batter to drain and I cannot use the phone for normal use. Is there a way to turn this off.

I agree with you completely on that. Nokia used to have a good name here before Smartphones.
Somehow, providers here never caught on to the early wave of the first Smartphones from Nokia. They just never sold it because prices were high and I believe there was no partnership between Nokia and the providers.
Come iPhone and Android, the providers here marketed it like crazy. Nokia needed and needs that kind of partnership.
Now, Nokia is partnering and pushing Nokia Lumia Windows Phone with these providers. I don't think they will get their name back. No one likes Windows Phones.

Nokia is a brand of handset/hardware + software.
Android is just software with **bleep** quality hardware.
People ♥ Nokia Hardware... and Nokia Belle (Carla and Donna in the future) would save Nokia... NOT Windows Phone.
I am about to throw my Windows Machine out again.... out of frustration of using this heavy-set heavy on performance Windows.

Nokia E50 doesnt boot...

Hi, I've installed a signed theme I download from internet. After instalation, I applied that theme, and my E50 crash, I could'nt do anything, so I've removed the batterie, and reboot my phone... But after charging and displayed "NOKIA", the screen stay white, and it doesnt happens anything...
Is there a way to turn the phone to its orignal configuration without phone's running ?

(I think that theme was made for a Symbian 9.2, or my E50 runs under 9.1 ... But no messages tell me that it's not compatible during the instalation)

It sound like it was a badly made or corrupt theme.
Have you tried removing the battery for 5 minutes then trying?
If so all you can do if it won't turn on is the hard reset. Unfortunately this reset will wipe everything from the phones memory but it is your only option.
Hard reset:
1. Switch off the phone.
2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (the call answer button), * button, and '3' button.
3. While holding these buttons, hold the power button for a second to switch on the phone.
4. Release when the phone shows the nokia hands logo or shows other signs of life like the language selection screen.
It may take a few attempts and very flexible fingers!

Nokia E6 keeps restarting

I have a Nokia E6, i installed the Kaspersky mobile anti virus and was using the trial version. After the trial period got over i purchased a new license and uninstalled the trial version. I installed fresh copy of Kaspersky and now my phone keeps restarting within 15 seconds of swichting on. this goes on for about 3-4 times and then the phone just not start. Please help what should i do?

I having a same problem with all the above.
After read a few suggestion from here and other topic, I'm deciding to do the following step TODAY at 5pm:
1. I'm reset to the factory setting > restore.
2. Change Network Mode > Dual Mode to GSM. The phone quite stable and I'm waiting when it will retargeting by its own again. Last few minute starting from restoring the phone, it restarting 4 time maybe due to the Dual Mode which is the phone getting a 3G or 3.5G signal it start retargeting again and again.
3. Switching Mail for Exchange from Auto to Manual Sync.
As of now, the phone quite stable and running smooth. No more restarting issues. Hope I have a patient to wait until getting a new stable OS for Nokia E6-00. My aim toward Samsung Galaxy Note or S2.....hemmm....If NOKIA want me stay/loyal with your product, please resolve this issue ASAP!

A feature I used to like on my old nokia was that the time up showed all the time in power saver mode. So for example if the phone was on my desk i could look at it for the time, without having to unlock the phone, is this still possible? thanks

Of course it is. You can set original small clock from nokia system to stay tuned on always, or you can install cclock apl. which has big clock numbers, date,etc.

New Lumia 520 won't even Start!!!!

Hi All,
My roommate just received a Nokia Lumia 520 which he ordered online a couple of days ago.
The thing is, the phone won't even boot up. The Nokia logo appears, stays, disappears for a few seconds and then gets back on again.
This has been going on for about 2.5 hours, which seems excessively long. We have tried the reset key-combo (Vol down + Lock), but I don't think there is anything to reset in this phone. My laptop was unable to install the driver for the device, reporting that the device was disconneted in between - my guess is its turning on and off again and again.
He called up the Nokia Care Hotline,and they said that the phone may take about 30-40 minutes to boot up the first time, but I think he was over-estimating, considering it took nowhere near as long for my Lumia 510 to boot up the first time.
Tough luck for the guy, but do you guys think there is something we can try to do for ourselves or do we have to get a replacement or something?

OK... final bit of info for Paul and Rayhipkiss.
While we are certain that this phone has a firmware defect, the Combo that Ray suggested is using an extra key. The actual key combo for restart the phone is Volume Down + Power.
In order to reset the phone, which I did try on this particular one, you need to bring it into Reset mode. This is done using the Volume Down key on the rocker. When successful, you see an exclamation mark. Now, you press the following keys in the mentioned sequence:
Vol Up + Vol Down + Power Key + Vol Down.
As the phone resets (Phone purges to Factory settings), two gears appear on the screen, rotating.
When done, the phone should have reset itself to normal. Unfortunately for this phone, SN=AFU.

To [heck] with Elop, I want an N9

Say I'm in the US (or UK, or many other countries) and want an N9 when it's "released" - what countries will get N9 phones with support for English language on them? Elop can go to hell; I want an N9 and I'll buy one from whatever market will sell me one.
And when it's no longer a practical phone, I'll buy some other phone.
Elop, if I wanted a Windows phone, why would I have been buying Nokias for the last decade? I'd rather be on fire than use a Windows phone. As a Nokia user (and shareholder) I say you're a complete disaster.

In the US, normal places that would offer pre-orders of Nokia phones are staying quiet, and places that do show pre-orders look a bit dodgy (and several of them list prices of around $1000 US, which is outrageous). Looking at the (unofficial) list of countries that the phone will be sold in (http://mynokiablog.com/2011/07/22/nokia-n9-fcc-id-label-shows-n9-labels-for-france-india-thailand-an...) I see a few where I might reasonably expect to hear English spoken (UK isn't on the list) so I guess what it comes down to is finding a reputable retailer in Australia or New Zealand to buy the thing from and have it shipped overseas.
Searching for an FCC ID (in the US) of PDNRM-696 comes up empty, so either I'm doing that search wrong (entirely possible) or there isn't an FCC ID for the US in which case I think it'll be much harder to get ahold of here.

E72 - any fixes for ...

just wondering if there are any fixes yet for the E72's miserable (nay insultingly bad) predictive text and the half assed mail client which disconnects IMAP after 5 minutes and has no proper integration with the Gallery?
I have an E63 which I purchased first and up (side? down?) graded to the E72 about 6 months ago. The E63 has class leading predictive text (which I use extensively) and an email client which does not need to lean on Nokia Messaging to stay connected all day (and gives me the personal choice as to how I connect - WLAN or 3G).
I really love higher speed 3G data, the great AF camera on the E72 and for sure the notification light is just great (especially in comparison to the E63 or E6) ... but with
- email being a blow out
- miserable speaker quality for hands free (the E63 is impressive)
- pathetic text reading for SMS (again inferior to the E63)
its hard to actually want to keep using it when it slows me down in so many other ways
if there were patches for this stupidity in software on this great phone it would be the perfect phone for me (and probably many others) even today!

That is a myth. I restored to 3.1.3 and then restored further upto 4.1 and stopped there. So there. You can read my thread.

Also you can check with Lawrence Finch, who helped me patiently through this situation, and after a long night I could get my phone working again, with IOS 4.1, just exactly as it was before I upgraded to 4.2.1 accidentally on 27th Novemeber.

N95 start up problem

Just bought N95 when I switch it on the nokia screen screen stays on for about minute, does this do it in all the N95.

This is good news for all windows 7 users that can install DEVICE UPDATE SOFTWARE in Windows 7 Home Premium, here i can explain that how to install DEVICE UPDATE SOFTWARE in Windows 7...
1. Download DEVICE UPDATE SOFTWARE from http://nds1.nokia.com/files/support/global/phones/software/NokiaSoftwareUpdaterSetup_en.exe
2. Right click on that installer file and select PROPERTIES and then select COMPATIBILITY then CHECK the box on
COMPATIBILITY MODE then browse the list and select WINDOWS VISTA SERVICE PACK 2 (if service pack 1 then select 1) and then click on OK... Thats it ur ready to install DEVICE UPDATE SOFTWARE in Windows 7....
Note : This is my own trick and this trick is success, B'cas i m hardware engineer and i knw this tric is not harmfull to any pc or laptops/notebook , so do it this all above step without fear TRUST ME PALS.. Lets enjoy.... THx

1)after I type in the Nokia device the option "Conn. PC to net" to active it change to another option "Nokia Ovi Suite" for 1...2 sec((( any of my efforts can't help this...

Nokia Symbian only stays connected while the Wi-Fi is used actually. Could that be the cause?

Deleted emails stay on server Nokia E51

Hi, I'm using Nokia Messaging V5.1 on a nokia e51. It's working fine and the only hitch with it is when I delete a mail from my phone it's still on the server when I view mail from a desktop client. Anyone know how to set up the sync'ing so that when a mail is deleted from the phone it gets deleted from the server. My mail accounts are pop3.

If your exchange server is set up to "never delete", your emails will stay. However, I have found that if I empty my "deleted mail" folder, they do not show back up in my inbox.
Try this.....hopefully it works for you.
