Nokia N8 Belle - Wi-Fi Problems

Hello,
This problem is starting to be super annoying with the Wireless Connection on Nokia N8-00 with Belle !
Everytime when I'm connection the phone on my wireless router, and I am trying to download something in OVI Store or other application, connection is keep reseting again and again and again !! And I can't download anything !
How to fix this big annoying thing! If there is any person that knows how to solve this, please tell me which is the solution.
I even tryied all configurations to my router (frequency, mode, etc...) and nothing !

Hi edsdanny,
Have you tried changing your router passkey and afterwards do a soft reset on your N8? This won't delete any data, but it will restore original settings of the device.
You can do this by entering *#7780# into your keypad and when requested, enter the default passcode 12345. Also, you may want to check the access point priority and make sure your WiFi connection is priority 1. This will ensure that whenever it is in range, it will use your WiFi and when it is not available, it will use your device's data.

Nokia 701symbian Belle FM Transmitter Problem

My 3 day Old Nokia 701 operating symbian Belle was a dissapointment. I tried to use the GPS and activate FM transmitter thinking that it would broadcast to my car FM radio but it didn't - is it not design to work that why? I noticed frequent hanging and resolve to removing the battery more often to get nokia 701 to work again.

You cant use the FM transmitter with the GPS, because it is not designed to work this way.
But there is away around this.
Record a musicfile with only silence. Start this is the media player and set this silent music track to repeat.
Start the FM transmitter.
The FM transmitter will then stay on transmitting silence to your radio.
Start Nokia Maps (or Nokia Drive) and start navigating.
Whenever the GPS voice speaks this should be transmitted via the FM transmitter to your radio as well.
I have not tried this on Nokia 603, or in Symbian Belle, but this have worked with Symbian Anna so far.
When it comes to the phone hanging, I must ask, how old is your SIM card that you currently are using in the phone?
If it's older then 2 -3 years, i would recommend that you try a new SIM card.

Nokia N8/Belle question about WI-FI

I just updated to Belle and have a question.
If WI-FI is on does it mean it always scanning for available networks and drains battery?
There was a setting in Anna to disable scanning, but Wlan still would work if any app using it.

The only reason that I can think of is that your connection priorities are incorrectly set.
Use Menu>Settings>Connectivity>Settings>Network Destinations>Internet. Then long press on your wifi connection and choose Change Priority, and then select the first connection in the list.

PHOTO EDITOR NOKIA 500 BELLE

Hi i have a NOKIA 500 BELLE and in my app PHOTO EDITOR i have hundreds of photos i dont want and its taking up alot of memory is there anyway to delet thoes photos?

The pictures displayed in your phone's Photo Editor application are the same as the ones in your gallery. They are not a copy of the pictures, they are the displays of the same files from the memory. If you would like to free some memory space, I advise you to delete the unwanted pictures from the gallery. Once deleted, these pictures will not be displayed in the gallery or in the Photo Editor app anymore.

Nokia 700 belle fp2 voip

I configured Voip on Nokia 700 belle fp2 with the guide from this page. I prefer 3G connection so I set packet data connection over 3G and enabled AWCDMA setting in VoIP service settings. Like in the guide. I can make calls. Sound quality is excellent on booth sides. But I'm not reachable over VOIP. My phone doesn't make any signs when I try to call it. I quadruple check to be sure that every profile entry has been made correctly. I reconfigure settings for wifi connection and trying to establish connection over wifi bat the problem resist. My voip provider doesn't make any restrictions. Is there any explanation or better solution for this problem.

I find this document from year 2002. I capture the registering data and incoming call data with wireshark. I find out that my voip provider has problem with Call-ID header. While registering they answer with right Call-ID header. When I get incoming call the Call-ID header is not the same. There is no malfunction. The call is dropped with 404 not found.

Nokia 6700 USB cable connectivity problem -fixed-

Ok, got my 6700 today. Everything worked like a charm, until I tried to connect it to my PC using the supplied USB cable. I downloaded and installed the latest Nokia PC suite which supports this phone (7.1.30.9) and connected the phone. Vista was unable to install a driver, and the phone was listed in the device manager as 'unknown usb device'. The phone display reported 'no response from host' after plugging in the usb cable.
I searched online for a solution, and tried the following:
- repaired the install of the Nokia connectivity cable driver: no success.
- deinstalled the nokia pc suite, ran the pc suite cleaner, rebooted and reinstalled the pc suite: no success.
- threw away the unknown usb device in the device manager and plugged the cable back in so that Vista would try to install the driver again: no success.
- tried other USB slots (not behind HUB): no success.
At this point I was so frustrated that I decided to take out the supplied 1gb micro sd card and transfer some data to it using a card reader. When I looked in the root of the sd card, I noticed that there was an executable called pc-suite.exe there, among some other files. I decided to delete those files to see if they were causing the problems, I deleted the following files:
- autorun.inf
- launcher.exe
- pc-suite.exe
- qf
Replaced the micro sd card in the phone, plugged in the usb cable and voila: connection! Everything worked like a charm.
During my online search I noticed I wasn't the only one experiencing connectivity problems with the 6700. Maybe this fix will help other people as well, that's why I decided to post it here. ;-)

Thanks Peter, nice job - same problem, your solution is working. Shame on Nokia - i have so many problems with E52, and now with 6700 - why ? Is it so difficult to make a reliable software ? So disappointed ... maybe Apple is the solution - but after 10 years with Nokia why change with Apple ?

Nokia N8 email line break problem

So, I've only found one other post on here about this problem, with no solution.
The problem being that when you reply to an email in a hotmail inbox on the N8. Any line breaks (created by pressing return) are ignored and the whole email is sent as one line. The only way to insert a line break seems to be to use the html tag < br/ > which is very inconvenient. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong.
Any advice from anyone would be much appreciated.

Let's bring this issue again to Nokia's attention. This is very annoying issue, I guess it's a bug. They have to tackle it. It's associated with their client, because if you reject Nokia terms of use, this problem disappears!

The devices you mentioned are symbian S60V5. These cannot be upgraded to Nokia belle or such. They have hardware limitations.

Nokia 2700 Classsic Picture SMS Problem

I'm using Nokia 2700 Classic. I've a problem with Picture SMS. When I receive a Picture SMS and I wanna forward it as Picture SMS the cell phone make this sms as MMS and I can't send it as SMS. And my service provider charges for MMS. While in Picture SMS it contains equals to 3 text messages. & Nokia 2700 Classic creating a problem for me. Kindly solve it.

Hi and welcome. The 2700 is supported by Nokia Suite. After sync of the SMS's to the suite, they can be exported from the suite as a .csv file to use in other programs.

It may also be possible to transfer the SMS's from the old phone to a new phone via Bluetooth (Connection -> Data Transfer -> Phone Change) but that option may not apply to the 2700 and your new phone.

Nokia E71 Manual Network selection Problems

I have the E71 on the Three network and it allows roaming in this country (something thats usually locked off) to avoid roaming charges I went to change the phones network select option from Automatic to manual, I get the usual pop up to select the network I want to connect to but when I go back to the network options screen it shows as automatic and does indeed allow roaming. How do I actually change to manual network selection.

I can't believe that Nokia have not resolved this problem.
The problem gives a direct influence on the cost of calls, which is very excessive.
I spent 3 hours on the phone to Three to try to resolve the problem and nothing worked. Tried removing sim card and putting it back in, factory reset and hard reset.
For a regular traveler this phone is a nightmare. Call charges can range from £0.25p to £1.50 and 0.12p to 0.25p. Also call charges may be applicable in the UK depending on your network provider.
Quite simply not fit for its purpose. A mobile phone by definition is "a hand-held mobile radiotelephone for use in an area divided into small sections, each with its own short-range transmitter/receiver provided by a specific network carrier".
Unfortunately the phone does not meet this definition. Under the Trade Descriptions Act of 1968 should be entitled to a refund as customers have been mislead by the sale of the handset. Also the phone directly misleads roaming customers.
Also under the Sale of Goods Act of 1979 the mobile phone should be "fit for purpose". Unfortunately the E71 is not fit for purpose as a mobile phone does not meet its definition and as a customer the network provider does not provide a fair service carried by the network. Most networks are contractually bound to do so.
If you have a problem with this phone please contact Nokia or your provider to try to resolve the problem and push the new firmware as soon as possible!

Nokia e6 belle:cant save maps on phone

After hard reset of my nokia e6 belle, when I try to download maps NSuite shows that maps are downloaded, but after I disconnect and reconect phone, NSuite show that I dont have maps on phone and offer me to install thhem again. Maploader on phone doesnt recognise my wifi, even before. I tryed to reinstal phone belle software, maps application are updated, tryed different computers.. It seems like NSuite dont save maps on mass memory. help needed, thanks

Did you confirm by launching the Maps on your phone that the Maps are not installed ? In an earlier version of Maps this was the case on my Nokia 5800xm. Though the Maps were downloaded and installed on the phone Nokia Suite showed there aren't any..but in fact they were and I could use them without any issues...This was however corrected in the later updates..

Nokia 520 power/lock button problem

Had my 520 for about 10 weeks and it has already been in Nokia Care due to screen problems and now I am having problems with the power/lock key button. Sometimes it will unlock first time or it will take several. This started happening a week ago and it getting worse and a reset did not help so I say it will have to get sent to Nokia Care again.
What I want to know has anyone here had this problem fixed and has it reoccured as I am getting very tired of the unreliability of this Nokia phone and although I liked windows 8 I need a phone that is going to work.

Is this for a Nokia Lumia 520 as well? Did something happen to your phone prior to this issue? How's your Lumia now? Did you already bring it back to the people who assisted you before? If yes, what was the result of their assessment? By the way, did you bring it to the store where you brought the phone, or to the nearby Nokia Care Point?
If you haven't gone back to the assistance, please tell us the phone's current status so we can further look for other possible solutions.

Replacement "Gallery" app for a Nokia 700 (Belle)?

The latest Belle update has crippled the Gallery app.
They have removed the Mark Multiple option, which could be used to email multiple pics.
I say "could" because the app would usually crash if you did that, leaving the images stuck under Drafts.
So I am looking for a decent "picture manager" which has a built-in email sending feature.
Does that exist?

The interface looks a bit rough but it works on the N700/Belle touch screen fine. It does all it says on the tin. Just a couple of observations:
1. The email facility works no better than from the Nokia Gallery app, so that bug with emailing attachments over about 500kbytes is in the Nokia email app itself.
2. The Photobucket upload function, if used to upload to a sub-album, finds only the first album listed, so I created one called aaa_temp and just use that
As with many Symbian apps, the developer's website no longer mentions it and the downloads don't work, but it took me only seconds to find a site with the right version .sis file.
