Nokia N8 headphone buttons not working :(

I recently bought a nokia n8 and when i plugged in the headset, its working fine,
all the buttons on it are fine. except for the call answering button!
when i recive a call and press the call answering button, there is no response to it, nothing happens..............and even when the phone is on the stand-by and i press and hold the call answering button,it doesnt prompt for the VOICE-rec.
but i tried using the headset on my nokia 5800 and the button was working fine, and but when i tried the headphone of nokia 5800 on my nokia N8, the call ansering was working
so i am confuse how to solve this riddel thing!

Simply put your headset isnt connected properly loads of people ahd the same issue
to fix it:
just take the headphone jack and plug it in real fast to the port until you hear a nice CLICK noise and your set

Hi, DEVRAMP. How did you flash your phone? Is there a battery indicator when you charge it? You may try the following solution below:
Check that the keypad is not locked.
Make sure that all keys are responding correctly when they are pressed. In some cases, a key may get stuck and freeze the whole keypad.
Try removing and replacing the covers (if your phone supports that feature). Check that the power and side keys on the cover are properly aligned (e.g. pushed out) to their respective positions to have a proper tactile feel when pressing the keys.

NOKIA X3 front buttons not working

Hello. Today my NOKIA x3's front buttons stopped working. They're just not responding no matter how much / hard I push them. But the thing is , that I think its a software's problem. Cos the on/off button works fine when turning on / off the phone ( the red button). But in the menu it does not respond. And the other thing is I've tried to hold the green button and * to restart my phone , and now it turns on , I can't go anywhere cos the front buttons are not working , only the key buttons are and the phone turns off randomly , sometimes with NOKIA logo sometimes without. Is there any way to fix this one myself?

remove the battery for a couple of minutes then try doing a factory restore type in *#7780# security code is 12345
you should also check for a software update.
if nothing helps send the device to a nokia care poit

IPhone headphone button not working

Since updating to the 2.1 firmware, my "multi-functional headphone button" has not been responding.
This is using the stock headphones provided.
Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Tested mine with the wife's headset and mine have bust.
Just filled in the online return form and will see how long it all takes.
Fortuantely - these errors cost companies loads of money so there is a definite interest in preventing such returns in the future.
Additionally - as Apple makes both software and hardware, its whole reputation rests on the smallest of components.
In some respects - its rather like the catholic church..... Come on Pope Steve I (and II).... sort it out.
But speaking logically - if the headsets made today have been re-engineered with a smaller failure rate, there will still be warehouses full of the original batch to be sent out....
But congrats for making such a simple device - one click to pause, two to advance, three to cycle back? Genius!

N8 Headphone buttons not working

Just few weeks ago, my N8 headphone was perfect. I could receive call, change volume, change song but after that, I can not do anything except hearing music. I tried most of the tip people said in this forums but nothing worked. Now, phone shows headphone icon, I can hear clear music but I can't do anything with the buttons. totally inactive. Just few days ago,I updated the the phone by going Settings>Phone>PhoneManagement>Device Update and I am not sure the problem starts after that or before. Any help would be appriciated. Finally is there any nokia support center in city?

It gets confused because there are accessory default settings override it. Because a headset can be read as headphones simply by having the settings ignore the signals coming from the controls. This is useful in making the phone compatible to more headsets. For example, people trying to use iPhone headsets with controls on Nokia products end up with a low buzz for some reason. Setting the phone to headset to ignore the signals from the controllers may eliminate this buzz. Its not any problem with the phone, in fact I like it that way. Sometimes the software used to encode controls is not fully compatible causing problems. Furthermore again as stipulated, if the headset isnt pushed ALL THE WAY in, the remote control channel may not lineup nicely with the receiver.

Nokia 808 gallery button not working whilst in cam...

Hi all
Had my 808 for a week, and I have been delighted with it, in fact I had no issues with it until an hour ago!
I was taking some pics of my kids when the screnen when black, it would still take photos but I cannot see anything on screen. This is not great but a restart sorted it
But since this incident when I am in camera and I click on the gallery in bottom right to see my latest photo, nothing happens, this is really annoying. I have to go into the gallery to view photos. The transition still works and the photo thumbnail in the camera UI works, but button is useless
I have restarted phone a few times
Any ideas guys?!

nope... had never heard of that feature, let alone use it......in my case, i beleive it was because of a video file that somehow remained always open, and i figured it was overloading the processor somehow, like it happens in windows sometimes, so i removed the video and restarted the phone and voila, problemo solved...'
i just have to mention that the pureview takes photos with amazing bokeh effects... kudos to nokia again for the excellent camera......screw the belle criticisers... for they just didn't experience the pureview for want of a couple million apps that they won't use anyways....

Nokia 701 menu button not working and other bugs

I have a "brand new" 701 with 111.020.0307 that won't update to 111.030.0609 because I'm in Italy .
Now I have a really annoying bug: the menu key, sometimes, stops working and won't bring up the menu if pressed briefly, and won't bring up the task list either (when pressed long).
Anyone experiencing this bug? The only way I found to make it work again is turn off and on again my phone... And the task list can't be found in menus, AFAIK. I could do that with my old 5800XM...
I bought my phone ONE WEEK ago... I really wouldn't like to format/reinstall already! Ideas?

soft reset may solve it. Look in settings and phone management.
Dont have to do a hard reset first. After soft reset, try reinstall the latest firmware through nokia suite if soft reset didnt solve your problem..

Iphone 4 volume buttons not working

iphone 4 volume and mute buttons not working, checked all settings they are all fine and when headphones in it works??? When I take out headphones the volum buttons do not work, when phone rings or text receives only vibrates???? HELP!!!!

This could be due to some debris or dirt inside the headphones jack that makes the iPhone think that the headphones are connected even when they are not.
Try to see if you can clean the jack being very careful, with canned air as sold in electronics store. Some people have been successful by introducing and withdrawing the headphones jack several times in a row to displace whatever is in there if it is lodged in.
Avoid introducing anything else like a pointed object. You could damage the jack.
If all of this does not work, I would try first resetting the phone by holding the home button and the power button together for about 15 seconds or until the whilte apple appears, then waiting until the phone resets. If the problem continues after this, take it to an Apple Store to see what they believe should be done.

First of all, I'd recomend resetting the iPod. Do this by pressing the 'Menu' and 'Center" buttons for 10 seconds or until the Apple logo appears.
If this doesn't work, then it sounds like a hardware fault.
To identify the issue, if you have one, try plugging the iPod into a speaker through the dock. If this works, then the issue is with the headphone jack. If not then the logic board is dead. If the iPod is less than a year old, then it can be repaired by Apple for free. Just book an appointment for the Genius bar.
If not then, you could see about sending it to an iPod Repair Company, such as my own. A replacement headphone jack would cost £30.00 in the UK, including next day delivery. Other companies you could try would beUKiPodRepairs, but we guarantee to beat any quote that you get.

It appears like you may have a hardware issue with your ringer button and internal speaker that came to light after the update. If you have already restored your iPhone back to factory settings using iTunes, you may need to have your phone serviced.
Some potential good news... Check your headphone jack for lint. There may be enough to cause a muffled connection. You can try to blow it out with compressed air or very carefully pulling out any solid objects that may affect the connection.

I have hp g6 2231tx os Windows 8, brought it a month ago..now it's internal speakers and headphones are not working..I enabled in playback device from sound mixer and reinstalled drivers but still not working..it's because of hardware or software??

It could be either Hardware or Software related, so try the following and let me know.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.

When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu. Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter. Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete. Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices. Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

Lumia 720 volume down button not working

Hey buddies, I'm using lumia 720 and often i get this volume down button not working.
I changed the button by giving it in nokia care for 3times and still im facing the same problem.
And also noticed that this is happening to most of the lumia 720's.
so kindly look into it and rectify the problem as soon as possible.

Your only solution would be to return the unit back to nokia care for inspection,if there is a recurring issue with this im sure nokia would be aware of it now,and it could be a slight manufacturing defect which again would be looked into.

My Nokia N96-16GB Camera Not Working due to Strip...

Hi To all...
i have nokia n96-16GB, some days ago my strip gone damage, all functions working good but due to strip error LCD does not appears correctly, some time half disply some time buttons not working.
Therefore i changed it's strip. This Strip has dummy Front cam on it. When i Replaced strip, the cell working perfect all buttons and display working perfect. But when i press camera buttons it says "Camera: Feature Not supported" and it's gone hange.
Now what should i do?? i love my Nokia n96-16GB, even i have changed the strip but why this problem occuring. Plz anybody Solve this.
