Nokia N8 locks when selecting offline mode

Any other N8 users experiencing similar functionality/problems?
I'm fairly certain that when I first got my phone, when selecting the Offline mode - which I do at night to save power - it just went into and out of it no problems.
I have since set up the remote locking feature and was asked to change my lock code from the default 12345 for obvious reasons. However now when I enter the Offline mode the phone auto-locks. Not a major issue as I just unlock it with my code, just more of an annoyance really.
I have made sure the setting to lock the phone when sim removed is off, to no avail. Any ideas?

Same here, and can confirm it does this when remote locking is enabled.
I would imagine it does this as going into offline mode is the same as taking the SIM out
and the phone thinks the SIM is being changed, so it is a security precautionI beleive.

Office 2010 crashing when in offline mode

I have a strange one here.I have a laptop that was just sent to a user as a replacement laptop. It is running Windows 7 (x64) and Office Suite 2010.When this user opens Outlook while connected to the network (including VPN) everything is happy panda bears. Songs play when in offline mode but are greyed? please help

Hi there, im a new premium user to spotify. ive been downloading music and making playlists fine no problem. All the songs have synced to the phone fine. I can play all the artists and playlists when im in "offline" mode on my phone however the same songs are greyed when my pc is in "offline"mode. They can still be played on the pc however but are just greyed. Any one know why this is?. songs are all from spotify and not local files. I have also noticed that when i go to artist the option to play "offline" or "online" toggle seems to have disapered. it only apears when i go to playlists but not in any of the options in "my music" as mentioned above the greyed music still play on my pc when im in "offline" mode but 60%of the songs are greyed and its annoying as its hard to see. any info would be great.

FRM 0008 in offline mode

Hi all,
In the Desktop Intelligence "Offline Mode" users are not able to open all documents that they have retrieved from the system. Sometimes reports are "correctly" stored during import (so that the user can open it later in offline-mode) and sometimes not.
-          some reports are migrated from 6.5
-          the metadata for reports (size of reports) is also incorrect
Solution that worked:
1)       Clear deski cache on local/client machine
2)       Open the report in online mode (which cannot be imported in deski tool in offline )
3)       re-export to repository
4)       now you can successfully import the documents and successfully open in offline mode.
I need a more feasible solution as customer has thousands of reports and can't re-export all of them.
Customer is on: boxir2 , sp4 fp4.1

Reassign server to machine in offline mode

Hi xperts,
I need some guidance/ help to write a wlst script in offline mode to reassign a server to a different machine. In online mode I cd have used the recording and get the template however not sure if those commands work in offline mode or not. Can some one please suggest?

I'm allways using offline mode, since having 64bit server and having admin-tool on 32bit client. When using offline mode, save changes in your repository and go to EM:
- go to Business Intelligence -> coreapplication -> Deployement -> Repository
- click Lock and Edit Configuration
- browse for repository-file
- give the repository password twice and click Apply
- click Activate Changes
- restart your System Components
Changes should be visible now in Analytics.

Firefox become in Offline mode and unable to open any page and when shut down it remains in processes and freez up, blocking another to be run

When I on my Laptop, Acer Aspire 5735 with Windows 7 Ultimate run Firefox all runs perfectly smooth, all is working as expected, but when I go to Sleep mode or Hibernate (Firefox remains open) after turning on Firefox is not active any more, all open tabs are there but surfing is unavailable. Firefox reports message that it is in Offline mode (but menu File > Work Offline is not checked and if I check it and uncheck it again it doesn't have any impact). Which means If I open new tab and write web address it wont open, if I click any link in opened tabs from before, it wont open anything and it will show message that Firefox is in offline mode. After that I shut down Firefox by using Close(x) button and it disappears from desktop but it remains in memory and active processes not allowing any other instance of Firefox to be run. Finally I shut it down on force (End process) and start another instance and all works perfect. I am not sure is this only my problem with hardware/software configuration so I wanted to share this.

This is a pain but I have resolved it. This is instructions for Windows 7 but it may be the same on other Operating systems.

Offline mode problem nokia N73

Hello, I have a problem with my Nokia N73, after having passed in Offline mode, it is impossible to change it. I carried out a hard reset by *#7370#, the phone posts general mode, but when i wants to connect to the network it posts phone in Offilne mode. I have try an firmware update using PC suite, but thephone must be in general mode before this operation can be carried out. what can i proceed. right now it is impossible to use my phone.

Yes, I am probably mad still giving this phone a go, but I Like the phone, so I keep giving it another go! (plus the fact that I cant find any other phone on the market right now that I really like)
My network operator has been great, and has always replaced it for me every time I have had problems, but I must say it is now getting a bit too much.
The last one I had, I got 2 weeks ago, and was a brand new one with the latest s/w update.
First time I put it into OFFLINE mode, it refused to change back to normal. (this was a new problem I did not have with the first 5 handsets so I have a feeling its a problem with the latest s/w)
a week ago I had it replaced once again with a brand new one.
Went away, and put it into OFFLINE mode again while on the plane, and guess what? it refused to change again.
Nothing helps; I have tried taking the battery out, taking the sim card in and out, nothing!!!!
Now they want to give me an N93, but it seems way to large to me, plus it probably has the same problem, using the same operation system.

Online required to shop when offline mode

dear all, when i try to navigate using offline mode, it will keep asking me to "online required to shop" if i was click no then the navigation is terminated. is it a setting problem?? My mobile is E72

No, its not a settings problem. You are using an older version of maps which do not support free license. Go to map.ovi.com, and follow the links to download Ovi Maps 3.03 for your device. Alternatively, you could go to Nokia Beta Labs website and download the new Ovi Maps 3.04 which has the free licenses.

Nokia E51 struct in offline mode....

My Nokia E51 structs in offline mode...when I try to switch to general or other profiles.. E51 hangs & switches off.I have given it to Nokia customer care.. But they couldn't able to resolve it...
As offline mode.. Music player & otherthing works very well. To upgrade the software also.. The mobile has to be put in general profile..
Not sure what gone bad in mobile... either sim card reader or RF circuit of the Mobile...
I have tried software reset & other options... But I couldn't solve the problem...

In case it's a software fault, back up your personal data and try reformatting the phone with *#7370#, failing that a software update.
Otherwise you may have to get it checked out by Nokia service centre.

Yeah some allow phones in offline mode. Others only if the MP3 player comes on without the phone, some nothing at all. Check with the space waitresses when you are onboard. They will have the most up to date info. Oh one last thing, if the crew tell you that the captain says no it must be off, do it, they will have a nice man in a pretty uniform carrying an asp/mace/great big gun (Depending on what country you fly into) waiting for you if you refuse.

I have a problem I can not up grade to the new AOL due to having a MAC 10.4. Now when I go on the site opens but when I finish one thing it tells me error message Offline Mode. What can i do it just shuts the internet down.

When I open Firefox , and go to AOL.com it goes to the home page with a message to up grade. I have tried that it tells me I can not do it on my operating system MAC 10.4. Now when I sign on to Aol to use my favorites some time it lets me on, but if i write something e-mail or such it sends it them tells me error message Offline mode check off in file which I do, but it shuts down the internet. You are right, but how could i send it to Apple? when the phone company first replaced my iphone they had in stock alots of iphones and they just sent mine back to Apple and gave me a new one, so all i did is to give them my phone, but now how could i sent it to Apple? and i cant send it by myself, and the store wont do that, its a lost for them.. so sending it to Apple wasnt an option from the begining.
and for the record, i dont think the store where i bought it is an authorized shop.. its just a store who boughts phone's from Apple in a low price and sells it in much more money..

How can I prevent Firefox from starting in Offline Mode when there is no internet connection?

When I fire up my laptop from standby it takes some time before the wireless internet connection is established. If i am too quick and open Firefox before that happens, it automatically goes into Offline Mode, which I hate a lot.
Is there any way to disable this behaviour?

That shouldn't happen in Firefox 4 or later. You should just get a page not found or server not found message.
Can you check the following setting?
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''offline''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Look for '''network.manage-offline-status''' and reset it to False (either double-click or right-click/reset).
Does that work?

Get error message "firefox is in offline mode, uncheck the work offline menu and try again " when trying to open firefox after downloading latest version of firefox

after downloading the latest version of firefox, when trying to open it I recieved the message, "Firefox is in offline mode. cannot browse web. Uncheck the work offline menu and try again". Have tried several times to open with same results. Have even uninstalled firefox and reinstalled latest version and still get meassage after trying to open.

In the past two weeks every time I select the Firefox icon I get a message: "Foreforx is in Offline mode". I click on "try again" and it always comes up. How do I avoid this message and go directly to online status?

Prior to a couple weeks ago when I clicked on the Fire Fox icon on my MacBook air it went directly to the Fire fox home page. Now when my computer has been off and I choose the Fire Fox icon, I get a message that Fire Fox is in "offline" mode. I then click the box "try again" it always comes up as usual. What can I do to get away from that "offline" message? I do not have the same problem with my desktop iMac.

CS3 - Viewing HTML in code window, when selecting a image in design window on split mode wont work .

Does any 1 know how i can enable my split to be able to
select a image from the design mode window with mouse, and have it
highlight in the code veiw.
I have just upgraded to CS3 and in DW MX2004 i could select
HTML from the code view , and attribute would highlight in the
design view, and visa versa with the design mode, ..
But atm all i can do is highlight and right click the text
or image in the design view window when in split mode, to find the
HTML for that selected, and it wont allow me to view the selected
text or image in the design window, when i highlight the HTML ... i
could do it in MX2004 , and its annoying me that i can't do this in
CS3 ..
Any hints on how to fix this would be very much appreciated

That works for me on WinXP. After selecting your image in
Design View,
try hitting Ctrl+` on Win or Cmd+` on Mac to switch focus to
the Code
Pane. Does that work?
