Nokia N8 PUSH-MAIL Bug/Problem,need to solve urgen...

Dear Administrator,I am saurabh from india and recently i brought your New NOKIA N8,Its good one ,but when i configure my GMAIL a/c on PUSH MAIL SERVICE of my N8 and when i read my e-mail on COMPUTER or IN ANY OTHER non- mobile device and then i refresh same a/c on Push-Mail of my Nokia N8,"It Still Showing 'READ' message as 'UNREAD' " on my Nokia N8 Push mail client,so kindly help me about this issuee.
I am not using any 3rd party PUSH mail service on my Nokia N8, I just using INBUILD NOKIA E-MAIL SERVICE for my GMAIL account, this problem is occurring on Nokia's in-build Email client.
So need to solve,
another thing i saw that when I am browsing on my N8, and sometime i got call that time the "Packet data Connection icon put on hold" its fine upto call end but its remain as it is even i finish my call i.e ON HOLD but surprisely i am able to Surf internet.

What do you see exactly, for Yahoo? Do the emails come down fine when you hit the sync button, but they aren't pushed down immediately? Can you time it to see how long they typically take to arrive, when you don't sync manually?
As for rediff, I'm pretty sure (like 80% confident) that it's supposed to be polled every 15 minutes on the server. So it should take 0-15 minutes (7.5 mins average) to receive new emails. Rediff (unlike Yahoo) isn't techically push email. What exactly are you seeing for rediff?

Yup, by TOS I meant terms-of-service
As far as I know the way it works is that (1) your phone maintains a connection with (one of the) Nokia servers, so that as soon as the Nokia server has anything to say (e.g. "new e-mail"), your phone gets it; and (2) the Nokia servers fetch your e-mails so that (1) can work.
Now, I don't know how (2) works. In theory the Nokia server should act like an IMAP client, and should be using IDLE in order to fetch the e-mails as soon as the server gets them.
I don't use Nokia Messaging anymore (I now prefer Profimail on my E75), but for some time I did research a bit on that topic, and noticed that the Nokia server was making an IMAP connection to my e-mails server (fastmail.fm) every 15min, i.e. not keeping it open permanently using IDLE. It may be that during those 15min sessions IDLE was used, and then the Nokia server simply decided to close and re-open the connection. That may sound illogical, but perhaps it's more reliable this way.
In any case, I was getting my e-mails on the phone instantly, i.e. the reconnection every 15min had no impact on the actual push delivery.
Apparently there are many people having problems with Nokia Messaging. I don't know if Gmail or Yahoo allow you to see a connection log, but if they do, please have a look and see if and how often a server from Nokia/Finland is connecting to your IMAP server.
Also, I would just in case log on on email.nokia.com and make sure that your account is active (the E72 should give you a lifetime subscription, but please double check).

Nokia N8 - Push-Mail

i can configure an E-Mail-Account on my new Nokia N8. I pay for IMAP and Pushmail at GMX provider, but my N8 doesn't give me a chance to enter the informations needed for rthat service (incoming & outgoing server, username).
Here is what I've tried so far (since I've got german language on my N8, I hope the translation of the menu items is correct), no surprise, we all know these steps:
Menu -> Programs -> Mail -> New Mailbox. At this point, my N8 asks me to enter my mail address and password- AND- that's all. No more steps, all settings (inclusive "receiving mails as soon as possible") are configured automatically. BUT: My mails arrive up to half an hour too late.

I got my N8 last week, and am experiencing a lot of problems trying to get email access to work. Ironically, they seem to have done a better job integrating with Facebook than they have with email.
In addition to the problems identified by flagpole, I am also unable to delete a gmail account once it has been created. (I set up a Mail for Exchange account, then had to add a separate gmail account when I discovered that although it's good for pulling mail, it crashes when you try to reply to an email.) I get the option to delete the account, but when I select it, the phone just goes into a "busy doing something" loop from which it never quits, whilst displaying a "Removing mailbox" message.
My opinion of Nokia has been dropping like a stone in the last few weeks. I don't know about any of the rest of you, but I find the web site to be very badly organised and inconsistent in its behaviour. I had to jump through a lot of hoops to order my N8, and even more to track it properly - they don't provide a link from the site to the courier, I had to phone and be told a big long tracking number, then go to the UPS site and put it in manually. Ouch.
Former Nokia enthusiast, now angry, cheated, disrespected, disregarded soon-to-be former customer. Ovi Suite, Ovi Store, the execrable web site and the unreliable N8 have created a perfect storm of cell phone hell.

Nokia E5 has many bugs, im an experienced Nokia and Symbian user, i feel sorry that nokia doesnt car about even answering or at least get us an firmware update. I still buiyng nokia phones even if i know that android phones is much better, cause im still want to give nokia my support..but im really tired of it and im making the switch today.... the list of bugs that noki e5 have is enormous and theese bugs are really serious bugs since the functionality of the phone is almost completely useless if your into buisness..
Nokia .... sucks even at this....not answering and follow up the support.... not updating their firmwares in time....

Nokia 501 push notification bug

I bought a 501 has been 2 weeks and Push notification features of Facebook does not work. It always display "enabling" and then yesterday I no longer see the option Push notification on FB app anymore. ? Will I be alone this error? My FB version is 3.2.2

Nokia c3 and mail's problem

hello gus, I started the application for the nokia (c3.00) email ok, but when I try to use Yahoo to search for name s in the phone book I do not find anything, much less I can see it, but if I open my browser (opera) yahoo phone book work I have no problem . any advice?

My big bro create a lots of ovi accounts in my phone and he signin using those accounts and now my nokia mail is not function or chat either. My phone also reject new application it write invalid application whenever i downloaded. I tried to restore all my phone but doesn't restore it write incomplete, Any help?

How are you trying to "restore" the phone? Is it through settings? When you say " My big bro create a lots of ovi accounts in my phone" did you mean to say that they are set up on the phone? If yes, kindly delete them including your own Nokia account and then set it up again. You can also try to clear the cache and cookies and the browsing history on the phone. You can do this by going to Menu > Web / Internet > Clear browsing history.

Major iPod Problems, Need Help Solving

One day I was casually syncing my iPod video with my computer to get a few new songs uploaded onto it.
Suddenly, the iPod freezes up, shuts itself off, restarts, and magically it has forgotten everything and pretends it is a brand new iPod.
No problem, I think, believing it will just need to load the songs again and everything will be fine.
However, this is not the case.
The iPod would then continue to load all the songs, shut down after loading them, restart and again pretend it is brand new and lad all the songs again.
This continues to happen again and again.
I try to update my iPod, figuring it may just be a version error or somesuch nonsense. The updater refuses to work and actually causes my iPod to crash, saying it has a diskwrite error.
It refuses to "System Restore" on my computer, so I run the "System Restore" on another window computer that I own. And it runs just fine, making the iPod load songs once more.
And I think, problem solved!
However, again, this is not the case.
I load it once, everything goes fine.
The nxt day, after buying more songs, I try to upload and after the upload, the iPod shut off, restarts, and pretends to be new once more.
I go through the "System Restore" process again, but afterwards, the iPod all out refuses to upload my music fully, shutting off about halfway through the process each time.
And now whenever it is plugged into my computer, windows says it is unreadable and must be reformatted, so I run the updater and it says that there is an "iPod manager internal error" which could basically be another language considering my only basic knowledge of computers.
Is there any way to repair my iPod at home? Or must it be sent in to Apple?

Nokia E72 IMAP mail problems

Yeah, E72 e-mail client needs real work if it wants to be a competitor with iPhone 3GS (two of which I own) and Blackberry.
So far, I found these problems with it:
1. The e-mail client should be able to display all IMAP folders. Currently there is no option to do that. This is a major functionality problem. In fact, displaying all folders available on the IMAP server should be the default. Instead, the client offers the folders that don't exist at all - silly choice indeed (for instance, I get a choice to see "Sent Items", which doesn't exist on any of my IMAP servers).
2. If large number of IMAP folders is selected, e-mail client won't work any more (becomes frozen for lengthy periods of time) and may even corrupt mailbox setup (in my case, it renamed two of my mailboxes to the same name - it just called them Email). Note, it didn't corrupt my mail - it corrupted mailbox setup on the phone. Essentially, mail doesn't work after large number of folders have been subscribed to. The client keeps connecting/disconnecting and eventually gives up.
3. There is no selection for sent folder. This is a critical feature for any IMAP client. It would be nice if drafts could be selected too, but that's not critical.
4. IMAP IDLE is not implemented properly. There are a number of selections as to when to poll the IMAP server, but that is not proper push e-mail support. There should be an option for the client to keep the connection open all the time and reopen it if/when it goes down. Currently, it is impossible to have "always on" IMAP IDLE support. Which then means that e-mail delivered to IMAP server will not be picked up by the phone for many minutes.
5. Email, if configured, should start when the phone is rebooted. As of now, it doesn't, which means that even if one configures polling for e-mail and the phone is rebooted, the mail will not be picked up.
My Nokia E72 is E72-2, software version 021.024.237.02.
PS. Can someone smack Nokia Australia support people around the ears for replying with utter nonsense to customers' questions, please? It's annoying when real bugs get reported and people that have no idea what the problem is (let alone the solution) reply with garbage.

Hi all what a nice discussion on e 72 issues and I hope Nokia developers also work like users.
I have 5 e mail accounts configured g mail,yahoo,hotmail,ovi and my company account which is gmail apps . Except for gmail nothing seems to work .
First of all for email to be successful like BB push mail should work automatically . That is whenever one gets connected to net mails should down load as per parameters set . This is not happening .
Secondly i still do not know why mails do not download on manual mode also when you go to" send receive now "..I have noticed that mails do come into some of my accounts when I am connected to the net and simultaneously mail is being sent . I have tested this more than once in my office . Otherwise push mail does not work . This seems to be a serious bug .This means push mail is a flop. Further there seems to be some peculiar issue with yahoo mail .This is an issue I have for a long time . I also feel after a while whole thing gets coorupted and perhas this is the reason why e mail system stops working .
Thirdly and most annoying thing are the messages which keep pooping asking for password for different e mail account .Any one else having same issue ?
High nokia advises customers as to what they have done and what can be expected out of this system . If nokia mail system fails they will loose lot of ground to BB and apple and they can not survive selling only voice/message phones at exorbitant prices .

Hi i bought my nokia E7 three months ago and since last week my hotmail push mail service has stopped. I tried to solve by deleting mail box from my nokia E7 and re setup it. However, since last whole week it has been giving an error saying service temporary unavailable. So i cannot use homtail service on my phone now while my other account is working fine which is on gmail. Can you help me to solve this problem as i really want hotmail serivce. Blackberry HUB "Show Read Filed Emails" ON AND OFF button SERIOUS Gmail PROBLEM NEED BUG FIX ASAP!

Its been for years (starting from 10OS Version 10.2 ) I couldn't see filed/labeled emails in my Z30/Z10 Blackberry HUB of my Gmail account, but I just downloaded Blackberry Blend and it started to show all my filed/labeled emails, but I still cant see them in my Blackberry HUB! Maybe you can tell me how to make Read Filed Emails visible in Blackberry HUB too?
Blackberry HUB >> Settings >> Display and Actions:
Show Read Filed Emails is ON
Show Sent Emails is ON
Both are turned on, but I still cant see them like on Blackberry Blend.. On search field then I type specific email from filed/label from my Gmail account I immediately finds it, but then I go back to Blackberry HUB all I can see just emails from inbox and single sent emails and YES "SYNC ALL EMAIL FOLDERS" IS SET TO ON AND "SYNC TIMEFRAME" IS SET TO FOREVER (''Sync All Email Folders'' is set ON and ''Sync Timeframe'' is set FOREVER).

I want to see all emails in devices Blackberry HUB like in Blackberry Blend desktop! What should I do to make it happen?
I find out that then I click on the Blackberry HUB > Settings > Display and Actions: "Show Read Filed Emails" to ON or OFF again and again, view in Blackberry Blend immediately changes in order I did ON or OFF, that's pretty amazing, but Blackberry HUB DOESN'T RESPOND AT ALL! As you can see then ''Show Read Filed Emails'' is ON, Blackberry Blend changes and I can see all my emails (and there are a lot of unread ones! (sorry I blurred some of my emails for privacy)), but in my devices Blackberry HUB there is no changes and its displaying the same thing like ''Show Read Filed Emails'' was OFF. I miss a lot of emails and its really annoying and I think you understand why.. Blackberry Blend desktop version is a savior today, but THIS IS NOT A SOLUTION!
Any FIX suggestions ASAP?

I tried a lot of times to delete and sign in again and again, but it looks like only Blackberry Blend respond to every setting changes! Blackberry HUB doesn't respond AT ALL! Devices Blackberry HUB only show INBOX and SENT MESSAGES all the time, but if "Display Style" in Blackberry HUB is set to "Conversation" SENT MESSAGES disappear from devices Blackberry HUB too (in Blackberry Blend is everything FINE!) if they are part of CONVERSATION FILED/LABELS EMAILS!!

I just checked to see if the update to OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 solved any of the issues outlined in my previous post, and to my dismay, nothing has changed -- all of the previous problems persist.
My iMac (8) -- it's renamed itself eight times since the recent troubleshoot with the Apple tech rep -- shows up as a shared device in Finder on my MacBook Pro, but when I click on it, I cannot establish a connection using "Connect As". So I've attempted to connect using the menu "Go/Connect to Server...", using both (alternately) the iMac's name and IP address, to no avail. I get a message which reads: "There was a problem connecting to the server 'Peter's iMac (8)'. This server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again."
Here's what I know:
The server -- Peter's iMac (8) does exist;
The server -- Peter's iMac (8) is available at this time;
The server name -- Peter's iMac (8) -- is correct, as specified in the system sharing preferences;
The server IP address is correct, as specified in the system sharing preferences;
The network connection is active when I attempt to connect.
I'm convinced the problems stem directly from the OS X Yosemite update. None of this was ever remotely an issue in the previous OS X's -- any of them. This is maddening! What can be done? Apple?? Anyone???

I come here not with a problem, but a possible fix.
Push mail stopped working for me. period. with the new iPhone software, mail would only check when you open the maill app... annoying after getting rather used to its efficiency.
I deleted accounts, added accounts, reset accounts, turned push on and off, hard reset phone, soft reset phone.... i checked all the help everywhere Google pointed me, eveywhere discussions pointed me.
Here is the fix that worked for me... turn off all push in settings>fetch new data, delete your mobile me account... now check that the account has been deleted by checking your contacts have gone...
now re add your account - NOT in settings, but by pressing the mail application....
It seems to go through a slightly different set up procedure. - and after 2 days of trying on and off, finally it worked...

Battery dishcarge very fast - all the app. closed etc: 3G, Push Mail, Notification, Locator still the same problem.

My Iphone 4 battery incation show 100% and all the application etc. 3G, Push Mail, Notifications, Location Services closed but the battery will discharge
very fast. After 5 minutes battery indication will showed 98% without using anythings. Battery cycles already make 2 to 3 times still same.

I had the same situation. I purchased a new phone from the local store earlier in November, but the production week indicated June. Battery was completely dead, and it took quite a while to activate.
My battery usage life has barely been able to top 4 hours before shutoff.
If you schedule an appointment, they will be able test your battery.
One suggestin that might work. Reset and retore as a new phone instead of off your 3G backup. This works for some (but not for me).
I will be checking back to get a new phone I think.

E72: Push Mail

I got the E72 device fir myself. Using the Nokia Messaging service that came loaded on the device. Have a couple of questions on it.
I added the gmail account to the Nokia Messaging Service. Now in the settings. What i see if under "When to Sync".. I have an options -> Weekday Sync under which I have 3 options 1) On all Day 2) Off All Day and 3) Cutomize. I have set it "On all Day".
Now when an email arrives on my account. The Device initiates a new GPRS connection automatically and get the mail. But then it does not discinnect the connection made. The GPRS connection remains active forever.
Even if i set the "Timed Sync" option to says 10 Mins.. after the mail is delivered.. shouldnt the device end the gprs connection and do a sync only after 10 mins??/

i've the same problem. I put the settings to "every 15 min" but the data-connection was permanent online. So my battery life went down to about 4-5 hours a day before having to load my e72 again. Without using the mfe the e72 works about 1 1/2 week with one battery life.
even with touch screen smart phones with less battery an push mail on "permanent" i was able to work about 8 hours minimum.
is there any software update to be expected in the comming future? this bug is cringe-making for an e72.
