Hello suske423, I also faced the same problem and after doing the three finger format my phone's working fine. So no other option other than format.

  • Startup failed after update

I just updated my phone from nokia software updater and the computer told me it was successful etc.
But when i turned my phone back on again it asks me to put my pin in and then says 'Phone startup failed. Contact the retailer'.
    Why won't it turn on!
I've taken my memory card out and taken the battery out and back in twice.

Just me, my phone is a 6110 navigator.

  • Nokia 6300, iSync, and Contact Photos-

Thanks to the following links, I was able to get my new Nokia 6300 to successfully sync with my Mac’s Address Book via iSync:
    http://klauskjeldsen.dk/2007/06/08/free-nokia-6300-isync-plugin/
    http://nokia6300.net/8/new-version-of-the-nokia-6300-isync-plugin
    http://brent.kearneys.ca/technology/2007/how-to-sync-a-nokia-6300-on-osx/
    http://kaspers.freeflux.net/blog/archive/2007/04/13/how-to-isync-a-nokia-6300.html
Unfortunately, two things didn’t sync up: Birthdays and Contact Photos. After politely asking people if there was any way to get these to work (especially photos, as it’s nice to see someone’s picture pop up on the phone for faster recognition before you unceremoniously reject them) I tried to tackle this one on my own. I was able to dig around in the plist files of the Nokia N93 and glean the few lines that make both of these details available to the Nokia 6300 plugin.
Before we begin however, I’ve noticed some problems that can occur with Photo syncing. PLEASE READ THIS THOROUGHLY before continuing: it’ll save some head-banging and frustration later.
Failing to follow the following guidelines will result in a completely failed sync. Should this happen, I simply deleted all of my contacts on the phone (phone memory, not SIM card), tried to determine the problem, and tried again.
Also, note that if you do end up deleting all of the contacts on your phone, you’ll also lose your 1-touch dialing and the entries in your caller groups (but not the groups themselves).
    Here we go:
Do not use .GIF files — JPG only! (I didn’t test PNG)
You cannot drag-and-drop from a web-page directly onto a contact. Although this works for Address Book in that you’ll see the ‘image edit’ window pop-open, and you can save your contact, when it comes to iSync your entire sync will fail. If you want to use someone’s image (from Facebook, for example) simply drag the photo you want from the web-page onto your desktop, and then drag the photo from your desktop onto the Address Book entry’s ‘contact photo’ area. You’re then free to delete the image from your desktop.
You cannot sync with a ’smart group’ that you created within Address Book. This has more to do with iSync than the new plugin, but it’s a pain nonetheless. Physical groups only!
When a sync fails, you are not told what failed, or why it failed. iSync detailed logs are useless too, stating only:
5:28:24 PM Error [Nokia 6300] An unexpected error occured.
5:28:24 PM Error Device "Nokia 6300" synchronization failed
Fun! What I did was create a ‘temp’ group, set iSync to sync with that folder only for contacts, and then slowly add contacts into that temp group until a failure occurred so that I knew what the offending entry was.
The plugin that I’ve created is essentially just the one from the site listed above, but with some additional properties put into the PhoneContuit.plist and SyncEngine.plist files.
As with everyone else, I take no responsibility if this completely fcks up your phone or Address Book, but please do backup both your Address Book (File -> Back Up Address Book…) and your phone’s contacts (I typically just copy everything to SIM). I can say that this has worked fine for me for a day now, with a fair bit of testing. After I cleaned up my offending image-entries, it’s been great.
To install: Quit iSync, download the following zip file, and drag-and-drop the plugin into your system using the shortcut, and sync away.

Good luck, let me know how it goes in the comments!
Please THANK me by clicking on the ****WHITE STAR** ( Giving KUDOS) the big GREEN BOX to your LEFT .
It will help me to serve you better !!!!!
    Thanking You

Hi! I can't download your Plugin for the Nokia 6300. Could you upload it again?
    That would be very kind!
    Thanks a lot!

  • XL Reporter Startup failed

    Hi
I am using sap business one 8.8. PL 15.Windows 7
I get the following error when i start xl reporter on the Server.SAP Business one is installed only on the server and no client machines are installed.
An error occurred during the process "Report Initialize".Description: (667) MetaInfo.xml not found!(Please contact the administrator to fix the repository connection)
    XL Reporter startup failed!
    Regards
    Farheen

Try the below suggested procedure from an SAP Note
    1. Find the directory in which you installed the program. This would normally be: C:\Program Files\SAP Manage\SAP Business One\AddOns\XLR\XLReporter.
    2. In the Client folder, run the program file ConnectionManager.exe.
    3. In the first window that appears, choose one of the following:
Database server administrator password has been changed
Choose this option if the database server password has been changed and you need to change the encrypted password
set in the meta data repository. Since the changes that you make with this option only affect the tables in the meta data
repository, you will only have to perform this operation once on one of the clients.
Database server name and/or administrator password has been changed
Choose this option if you have moved the database(s) to a new server and you need to change the server name and/or
administrator password set in the XL Reporter meta data repository. Since the changes you make with this option affect
both the tables in the XL Reporter meta data repository and the XL Reporter Metainfo.xml file in the installation directory, you
must perform this operation on each client running XL Reporter.
    4. Choose Next to continue.
    5. Enter the following information:
In the Server field, enter the name of the new server. (This option is only available if you have selected the option, "Database server name and/or administrator password has been changed", in step 3 above.)
In the User field, enter a new user only if the user has changed on the database server. (This option is only availible if you have selected the option, "Database server name and/or administrator password has been changed", in step 3 above.)
In the Password field, enter a valid password.
    6. Choose Next to continue. When the process is complete, the Operation Finished window appears.
The status information at the bottom of the window gives you information about the actions performed.
    7. Choose Finish to exit.

nokia 7610 fell in water. and now when switched on it says contact retail service. please help.

    Contact a Nokia service/repair center ( http://www.nokia.com/repair ).
However, it may be unrepairable depending on what kind of damage the water has done (or will do if it is still wet/moist inside, and corrosion of electronic parts is continuing).

  • ThreadPool startup failed

    Hello together.
I have a problem with our Enterprise Portal 6.0 (SPS19).
This morning under System Administration -> Monitoring -> Knowledge Management -> Component Monitor under Services -> scheduler the ThreadPool was red with the status "startup failed".
The status was ok after a restart of the whole Portal.
Please let me know if there is a possibility to Restart the ThreadPool alone without a restart of the whole Portal.
Please let me know what can be the reason for a ThreadPool with red status.
    Kind Regards,
    Mischa

Remove the Battery for a couple of minutes, insert and keep the phone on charging for 15-20 minutes. Then switch the phone ON. If problem remains, you need to visit Nokia Care ..or think of buying a new phone ...as the existing phone is running on an OS which is long dead.

  • Nokia C7 Dialing from contact list

I'm having problem dialing from contact list and recent calls.  I can only makes calls when dialing  the numbers.  I can receive calls.  Texting works fine from contact list and recent calls, but voice call can only be done by dialing the number .Phone has to reboot everytime it happens.

    Hi Remembranze,
First of all, check via Nokia Suite and on the phone itself for any firmware updates that may be available. IF there is an update, please update to the latest version offered. If there is no update, then try re-installing your current firmware via Nokia Suite. Failing this, try Restoring your phone to factory settings, and if this doesn't work, then you try performing a three finger hard reset. Failing this, you will need to take your phone to your local Nokia Care point for them to inspect.

"Stupid" Eclipse+Maven refuse to compile this legacy code. It's an Eclipse error, not a Java/compiler error as such. To fix it, I believe you have to check your plug-in configuration -- imported packages here or exported packages there. Try adding "com.sun.image.codec.jpeg" to the imported packages. Something along those lines. Anyway, bottom line: this is not an issue with the code.
