NOKIA N8 Suggestion

Not sure if this is the right place to make suggestions but here goes nothing.
OK so i wake up in the morning get ready for work and jump in my car.
Once in my car i put the fm transmitter on, on my trusty N8 so i can listen to my tunes as i drive to work all good so far.
So i get to work press pause on my music widget fm transmitter turns off.
its break time and now i want to play a game or watch a vid on my N8 but..... AGHHHHH. The fm transmitter pipes up and i cant hear anything, now i have to mess around going through menus to turn the thing off !!!!
How about in the fm transmitter menu, a tick list for apps you want it to work with and apps you dont. this frustrates me big time.
Please address this.

There's nothing to do about it you simply have to turn off the fm transmitter when you dont need it and simply turn it on when you need it, simple as that i frequently use the fm transmitter when playing games because you could connect to a sorround system without connecting wires which is unconfortable when playing games via accelerometer.

  • Nokia Store Suggestion for a Feature

Hello, I have a suggestion that will make downloading games in the Nokia Store easier.
I like downloading free games, but it's seriously annoying to download a game, only to find out later that it requires internet connection, that I don't have.
I want that Nokia will mark games like that, so that people will know before downloading, that the game requires internet connection. It will save a lot of time for many users. If Nokia can mark free or not free, it can also mark internet or no internet.
Thank you and I hope you will consider my idea.

They do that though NOT in all cases ...

  • Nokia 500 Suggestions...

I habve purchased Nokia 500 recently but i found certain things which can be easily upgraded...Below is the list:
    1) Folder playlist is missing. If i have to make a new playlist then it would be easy for me to select the folder then to select individual songs from the list of 2000 songs.
    2) Screensaver remains hardly for 1-2 seconds. It should remain atleast for a minute or more...
    3) Icon size on the Homescreen & fonts size are very very small. They should kindly increase it.
    4) Key tones & touch screen tones are very low in volume (after setting it on high option also). They should increase it also.
    5) Widget size of Music Player too Big on Homescreeen. Plz decrease it so that we can adjust other widgets also.
I hope they will consider these points & incorporate in the coming update....

    Vinit **bleep**

add a 'home' icon on the drag down menu, for multitasking without the physical button.

  • Nokia Maps - suggestions for improvement

Been using Nokia Maps Navigationon my E61i for a month now, previously I used Telenav on my E62.
The interface on Telenav is more intuitive / user friendly, Nokia Maps is confusing. I am getting used to it, but still.
Trip duration (lower right corner), at least that is what I assume it to be. It is off completely the entire trip. We use a TomTom Go910 for the family and it is off on its initial estimate but then it adjusts as you drive along. On a trip from Oklahoma City to Wichita Falls it estimated the trip to be 3.5 hours. Actual distance was only 165 miles, so a little bit over 2 hours. It its current design this feature is worthless. By the way Telenav has this figured out.
    Airport Codes:
Driving back to OKC, I realize that a keyword search on OKC (the official airport code for Oklahoma City) only results in tens of matches of businesses with OKC in the name. But no air port. If you want to be serious about business travel this needs to work. Same for car rental return locations at the airport.
After a few hours of use the E61i crashes and restarts itself.

The indicator at the bottom right of my Nokia Maps screen shows the remaining estimated journey time. This seems to me to be one of the most useful features. The only refinement I'd like to see is an option to toggle between this and an estimated arrival time.
With regard to search, there is a lot of scope for improvement here, given that this is the search that the software defaults to when you enter text directly without selecting an option. This should allow any kind of searching - i.e. post or zip code, place name etc. In the UK, the post code is the most useful type of search, but is not enabled via this inout - you have to go to address search to input a postcode. The app should have the intelligence to recognise the type of input and act accordingly.
Another much-needed improvement would be to improve the access to searching for the address from contacts - as this is a pretty obvious way for people using a smartphone to ssearch it should be there among the first level opetion - not buried as an option under address search.
Also, the options should be arranged with more consistent thought as to which will be most used, for example, under the "Landmarks" menu, Route From, Route To, and Navigate To, are in the midlle - requirig more keypresses than Delete Landmark, Edit Landmark, Show Details or Serach Nearby! Seems like a lapse in the quality control there doesn't there?
A great, and easy improvement (because the code is already there) would be to use the Voice-Independent name recognition capability of recent phones to select stored Landmarks and recent destinations - I'm surprised this feature isn't there already.

  • Nokia My Commute for WP7 Feedback and suggestions

My commute is a great feature that can be very useful. But after using it after month i have few suggestions that could make it evne better.
Have voice guide while use my commute and be able to turn it on or off
Have route guidance like the normal nokia drive.
suggest Reroute if the traffic is to heavy
more often traffic updates ( i found some times, app was saying the traffic was heavy but there was no traffic at all!!)
    Warning for road speedcameras.
then it would be a perfect app to use !!!

    Sc0tt,
Thanks but I think there's a misunderstanding.  I know it goes in "Community Feedback and Suggestions."  What I need to know is how does one find "Community Feedback and Suggestions" and why do they make it so difficult to find?
    But thanks for trying,
    Howard

  • Nokia C# Problem with MobilePDF

I  have attempted, unsuccessfully so far, to get MobilePDF to work on my Nokia C3. It downloads easily enough through OVI via cable, however when I attempt to open it I get the following error message:
"Application error, "security java/lang/securityexception Access denied"
I have checked numerous posts on the web, including Nokia, and have been unable to solve the problem. A prior Nokia post suggested:
"...go to the application (don't open it) then click options > application access> data access > add  and edit data,  Always allowed"
But, and I do mean but, that choice is in subdued font on my Nokia C3- it won't let me select it. As a matter of fact  I can only select the  "Not allowed" option. Any other option gives me the error message "Not available for this application."
Is there anybody out there with a possible solution. Thanks in advance.

    Nokia C3-00 ?
    Or Nokia C3-01 ?
Because I have your App in my C3-01 and it sure does work Fine, C3-00 Alays has much problem.
Maybe Try Restarting your Mobile, or redownloading it. Also Update your Device to its lastest FW.
If I've helped in any way, a click upon the White star to the left would always be appreciated.
If however my answer also solves your problem clicking below " ACCEPT AS SOLUTION " it will benefit other users!

  • Nokia 6230i (PUK code)

I have pressed the wrong button and have been asked to enter my PUK code. Unfortunately this has not been kept. Nokia support suggests enquirers contact service providers or operators for such codes. My phone was purchased at a Carphonewarehouse and was used in the UK. I am currently in Africa using a local network.
How do I go about solving this problem?

Only the network operator (whose SIM card you have), can provide you with the PUK code as it is SIM/operator specific.
So, call the customer service of your operator (some call them service providers, too) and ask them to give you the PUK code (and while at it, ask also for the PUK2 code, in case you need it in the future). The code will not change ever for that SIM card.

  • How do I uninstall Nokia Suite?

I uninstalled Nokia Suite, but I still regularly get pop-ups saying 'Please wait while Windows configures Nokia Suite'. When I press Cancel, I get the message 'No valid source could be found for product Nokia Suite. The Windows Installer cannot continue.'. I've even run the Nokia Suite uninstaller - this removed some registry entries, but I still keep getting the message, How do I remove Nokia Suite once and for all?

Someone in Nokia support suggested I try the Windows install/uninstall utility from the Microsoft website, and that seems to have done the trick. The link I was given was http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall, but this doesn't seem to work at the moment.

  • Nokia 808 - HSPA menu gone on firmware 1507

The Nokia HSPA suggested workaround here
    http://www.nokia.com/gb-en/support/troubleshooting/?action=singleFAQ&caseid=FA140286_en_US
cannot be done, because the setting does not exist.
    The menu structure
Settings > Connectivity > Admin. settings > Mobile data > High speed packet access
    is missing the last item.
Under Mobile Data there are just two items:
    Mobile data connection (when needed)
    Access point (none)
    Where has it gone?
Now, on my Nokia 700, I cannot find it either! That is v. 1506. This looks like a recent change.

OK... I think I have found out some interesting things.
Firstly, the HSPA enable switch does not appear unless you are connected to a 3G network. I presume it means 3G or HSPA. It certainly does not appear when the phone is connected to GPRS only, or has no signal. It is REALLY WEIRD of Nokia to make config items thus dependent! What have they been smoking?
Secondly, even where I am located, with a strong HSPA signal, displayed on a Nokia 700 as "3.5G", the 808 shows "3G". I have just downloaded (from a known very fast server) a 24MB file in 60 secs, which is 400kbits/sec which is at the top end of UK 3G speeds. Another test from another known-fast server of a 24MB file took the same time. So while this is not conclusive, because a poor HSPA  connection could be running that slow, it looks like Nokia has disabled HSPA on the new batch of the 808...
BTW does anybody, when they login here to post, get a popup window which goes to a website called oyodomo.com, and a load of adverts around the while Nokia site?
That popup is clearly being triggered by the Nokia server. Doing a google finds a lot of hits commencing early Feb 2013 - exactly when my Firefox stopped working with this site. The only way I can post here is with IE8.

  • Nokia 520 restarts with SD card after Amber

    hi
My Nokia 520 restarts with a SD card inserted. I have used a Sandisk 16Gb and then a Samsung class 10 card.
The issue was not present before the Amber update !!
Could anyone who has experienced a similar issue suggest a solution ?
    thanks
    ran

    hi
thanks for the answer. Actually the Italia Nokia support suggests to use class 10 cards and specifically Nokia cards. The Sandisk website also suggest to use only certain models of SD cards and all of them are class 10. The first SD card i have used is a Sandisk and it is not a class 10, maybe a class 6. I saw that lots of users are affected by this issue and i would like to know how they solved (if they did).

  • Nokia Messaging - did something change...?

Hi there, been using this for ages, roaming and all over - always convincing folk that its a thinking persons BB. But it seemed to have stopped working on thurs 4th for some reason. Have the green circle and all the screen looks good, all other apps work fine FB and Twitter.
Called Nokia, who suggested checking with Vodafone...who suggested nothing really? Dont get it - help please!!
    E72 updated

Try smartconnct birdstep plugin then you can make data connection via wlan as if it where gprs. I used it to setup some email accounts to avoid using gprs (since I don't have that subscription). So if it works via birdstep plugin you are almost sure it's your vodafone gprs who is mailfunction.
Some email setups in the E72 require forced GPRS connectivity unfortunately. Strange that you are not able to decide that yourself. Birdstep enables a way around.
Before using this I was not able at all to setup nokia messaging at all.

  • Email address too long

my email address would apear to be too long. It keeps cutting short when I try t set up mailboxes. Any ideas?

Well, then there is nothing you can do I suppose. If there is a character limit there's nothing you can do about it, other than email Nokia and suggest it increases for a future update I guess.
