  • What does the video size or resolution have to be when converting videos?

I have a program to convert videos, but whenever i put them on my ipod they're not in widescreen format. The image is streched out and too big. What size do i need to convert the video to for it to be the right size?

  • What does the "Export Mail" option in Mail app backup? Attachments?

Does it back up everything including attachments? What about the sent messages, draft, etc?

You can export each mailbox(folder) to another location like external drive.  It will export everything.  Later you can import them back if you like.

  • What does the mail sync option do?

Ok, so I have a MacBook Pro on Leopard. In iTunes i have the option to sync my mail (I use Gmail and .Mac) with my iPhone. Well, I'm running my iPhone and Apple Mail on IMAP on both Gmail and .Mac. so what exactly does this sync option do for me? I'm already synced since its IMAP. Am I missing something, or is that sync option only useful for those running POP?
And its disabled at the moment, in case you were wondering.
PS - IMAP Gmail on iPhone rocks.

  • What does the icon on my battery mean?

hello nokia lebanon what does the exclamation mark (?) shown at the battery icon means ?
Moderator's note: The title was edited. A better subject was provided.

    Hi NicolasMansour,
What's your phone's model? If this is for a Windows phone, can you verify if this  is the icon that you're seeing? If yes, that means the battery power or state of the battery isn't known at the current time. See: What do the icons on my phone mean? If you're referring to a different phone or a different icon, would you mind telling us its model and sending us a screenshot so we can further check?
We look forward to your reply. BTW, congratulations on your first post.

  • What exactly does the Work Offline option do in a shared review hosted on an internal server?

    Hi,
What exactly does the Work Offline option do in a shared review hosted on an internal server?
I *think* it simply disconnects you from the review server. I'm not sure why one would want to do this.
I'm trying to recommend an offline workflow for reviewers who may not be able to access a shared review hosted on our internal server (for example, while traveling). These reviewers would like to be able to comment on an offline version of the review PDF and then publish their comments when they can again connect to the Internet/internal server.
It doesn't seem like "Work Offline"  is the right fit for this scenario. Instead, should reviewers save a local copy to their hard drive, comment on it, and then, when reconnected to the Internet, open the local copy, click Reconnect to Server, and then click Publish Comments?

Thanks, Dave. So for my hypothetical traveling reviewer, it would be reasonable to suggest the following steps for an offline workflow?
    1. Connect to the shared review.
    2. Choose Work Offline from the Server Status menu.
    3. Close and save the review PDF locally.
    4. Comment while traveling.
    5. When back in the office, open the local copy of the review PDF.
    6. Click Reconnect to Server.
    7. Click Publish Comments.

or imagine you import large images sequence (200 hundred) and
need to reposition them all :)
The edit multiple frames options comes handy in such case...

  • What does the revert option mean when you hook an ipod touch up to the to itunes

what does the revert option mean when you hook an ipod touch up to the to itunes?

It means you changed some settings for how your iPod interacts with iTunes, you can either click Apply to confirm the changes, or Revert to undo them. This does not delete any content.

Yes, if you duplicate without the render files and delete the original project you lose the render files. But render files get recreated - automatically if you have it set in the preferences (which is the default option). It just takes time.

    Hi Lionel,
As a general rule of thumb, the ATI Rage 128 Pro will not support a 20" LCD. That being said, there are reports of it doing just that (possibly the edition that went into the cube).
I'm not that familiar with the ins and outs of the Cube, so I can't give you authoritative information on it.

Is it possible to hook a USB external hard drive to an iPad?.....the HD has video on it that I wanna watch on my iPad but don't wanna store it on iPad or iTunes....and way format does the video need to be in to watch on iPad?

There are some wireless external hard drives that can be used with the iPad.
The Kingston Wi-Drive, which costs $50 for the 16 Gigabyte, and then $30 more for every 16 gigs more. It works by you turning it on and then accessing the files on it from an app that you download on your iDevice. You can access music, movies, and other stuff. No connections or anything, it works like a WiFi connection, you connect to it from the setting on the iPad under wireless networks.
Then there is the Seagate GoFlex, which some would recommend over the Wi-Drive. But this one costs $199 and had 500 Gigabytes of storage. It works the sameway as the Kingston: no wires, runs over its wireless connection. You can actually fit up to 300 HD movies on it.
    Another option:
Expand your iPad's storage capacity with HyperDrive
