Nokia N80 IE Battery

Greetings,
I need help finding a battery for my Nokia N80 IE. I have checked the online store for Nokia USA and it seems like the BL-5B battery which powers the N80 is "out of stock"... Is there are any other Nokia battery that I can use? Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

As far as I know, the BL-5B is the only battery for the N80. You will be able to get it from most reputable online shops. Here is one I found.

  • No A2DP support for Nokia N80!

I just wonder why Nokia can't add support for A2DP in the new firmware for Nokia N80ie cellphone. =(
I just uppdatet my phone in hope of getting somewhere, but it was pointless.
It would be pretty nice if i could use my N80 as a real media centre with my Jabra BT 620s bluetooth headset but no way.
I am just intrested why not, i have read som discussions in this forum and other N phones did get their uppdates with A2DP support . Or am i wrong. Am i doing somethig wrong and cant get this to work?

A2DP and AVRCP does not require additional hardware for bluetooth 1.2 and above. It is based purely on software simulation.
Nokia can support A2DP in nokia n80. but battery could be an issue. Initial prototype of N80 had bluetooth 2 but then it was downgraded to 1.2 !!!

  • Nokia N80 Web Browser: "Web already in use"?

Just got my nokia N80, connected to my WLAN perfectly, I managed to have a couple of hours browsing the internet using the Web browser found under "My Own", I wanted to see if msn Web Messenger would work, after the login the web browser crashes.
Now if i try and get back onto the Web Browser I get a message saying "Web already in use", I've restarted the phone, I've even taken the battery out and restarted but this message still appears, I've googled and searched these forums but I can't seem to find any info on this, does anybody know what the problem is, and why the browser seems to crash on certain pages?

My new E61 was working fine but today when I tried to access the Internet I got a "Web: Already in Use" notice and could not access it. I had to hard reformat of the phone (thanks to T-Mobile tech support)and reinstall all of my email and internet settings. I have read on several user forums that this problem has occurred with some regularity. Obviously I do not want to reformat the phone all the time. Are there any other solutions? One user said they brought the phone into a local Nokia store for a software flash but did not say if it worked. Since I am in US, there is no local store to bring it to. Does have any ideas on how to solve this issue? Shouldn't Nokia be saying or doing something?

  • Nokia n80 brightness

I have a nokia n80, if i set the brightness to the highest will this be better or will it waste more battery? So would the lowest brightness be better? What doer everybody have brightness set to best?

I have mine just a little brighter than the semi bright it goes into after 30 seconds. I only use this cos I get messages in the night and when I try to read them it blinds my sleepy eyes. It makes a difference to the battery but not a tremendous ammount.
Is that an N95 in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me?!?

  • Nokia N80 Vs Nokia N91 (which one is the DADDY)

I personally have both phones. I can say that the Nokia N80 is the DADDY.It has a quality screen and a quality camera. I can work WI-FI easy I dont have probelms with it like some people on here. The N80 is nice a small the N91 is a BRICK.Ok it has a 4gb Music player. Buy i have a ipod nano and the screen is poor my N70 screen is better...

Hi, hope you don't mind me sticking my nose in.
I had a 7650 when they first came out and loved the phone. Everybody took the michael about it's size but it was way ahead of any phone I had seen on the market. That's why when I went to a very popular phone shop with the number 4 in it I had already made my mind up to get the N80. They showed the N91 and started raving about how big the memory is but I have an MP3 player so it wasn't really budging me. The fiddly keys and the chrome was not really suited to me. I have big hands and I just know that the chrome would reflect the sun straight into your eyes when you are trying to text on it.
I have to say that I am not overly impressed with the N80 though. It can be tempremental and does some very strange things like scroll wildly when you don't press any buttons. This I hope has been fixed with the firmware and service upgrades it has recently had. It was a bit embarrassing when you rave on to a mate how good the phone is and as soon as he looks at it it starts going bonkers.Hey ho.
The battery life is the real pain though,I charge mine every night so it's not a big problem for me but if I can't get to a charger for a couple of days it will be. I have a 6600 too and have charged it every night almost and I have never had a problem with a worn out battery. Still the original from 2-3 years ago and if I don't charge it then it still lasts days. So just to summarise, the N80 wins it on looks and features but sadly loses out for memory and, from what I have read, battery life. But cos I have one the N80 is daddy.
Sorry for writing so much but had a few things to say.

  • Firmware on Nokia N80

Hey guys, i live in ths middle east, Doha Qatar in detail.
I use the the Arabic language for my Nokia N80. If i update the firmware will i still have that Arabic language available in the phone to be used, or will there only be English?
    Thanks,

It depends on the phone's original source.
If you bought the phone from an official Nokia Dealer from the Gulf area and you have the official warranty card for it, the update will keep the original languages of the phone.
For example, my phone was bought from Dubai at an Official Nokia Dealer, after the update, the languages stayed the same.
We can be more sure if you post your phone's code. It's under the battery and starts with a 05, like 054327 for example.
We'll see if it's the same as Awesome's and mine.

  • Nokia N80 or E65 WiFi With Prolink Router

I already have Nokia n70 and thinking to trade it for either Nokia e65 or Nokia N80 but I still can't made up my mind.........
But my real issue is that if I buy either phones, can I use them for WLAN with my PROLINK HURRICANE 9000W.......This model of router is kind of old already........
Another thing is that, either Nokia e65 or Nokia n80 which one is better.........I'm looking for stable phone (which means it doesn't hang too much),long life battery (3 days or longer),and nice camera photos...........

Should work, router supports basic 802.11b + WPA, not going to be secure (or particularly quick) so won't recommend it for really important stuff. One thing you might want to check is if there is a WiFi cert logo on the router. It wasn't listed on the wifi cert site, but it is possible this is some kind of OEM device.

  • Nokia N80 V3 Firmware

    My N80 Firmware says
    V3.0617.0.6
    03-05-2006
    RM-92
    Nokia N80 (02)
what does the the (02) mean? I see it has been discussed extensively and I see different variants, but not my (02) is it safe for me to do the upgrade?
BTW. I'm not in the UK. I'm in South Africa. That falls under the EMEA. My phone is performing without any issues, would it be of a real advantage to do this upgrade or should i just keep the old V3 F/W?

The '02' refers to the language variant pack currently installed, you would need to post the 7 digit product code from the sticker under the battery for someone to confirm if possible the original configuration of your handset before you upgrade just in case you end up with a different language pack.
You know the old saying, if it ain't broke, don't fix. However plenty of people rate the v4 upgrade highly.

  • Can I use a Nokia N80 as a modem for my G4 PowerBook?

I'm about to spend a month in Italy and will take my G4 PowerBook with me. I need to buy a new mobile phone and thought that if I buy the Nokia N80 Internet Edition I can also use it as a modem for my PowerBook and connect using UMTS or EDGE. I already have a prepaid SIM card with TIM (Italian mobile service provider).
Has anyone successfully used the N80 with their G4 PowerBook?
    Cheers

Message Dialog Box: "Some Content on the phone could not be be read and was not included in the backup"
    SOME?
The log then says that the following wasnt copied:
    Notes
    Calendar
    Contacts
    **bleep**???
It copied all my \sounds\digital directory, but nothing else... whats going on here?
    PS: Backup was via Bluetooth
    v 4.0623.0.41, 26-07-2006, RM-92, Nokia N80 (01)

Sorry, I didn't explain it well enough... when I said that you've got some copyright material on your phone I meant things like the original ringtones which would be copyrighted by Nokia, stuff like that. Your calendar, contacts and notes aren't copyrighted.
When I say to try closing the applications - I was referring to the contacts, calendar and notes applications on the phone. Hold down the menu key to find what applications you currently have running... if you see contacts, calendar and/or notes in the list, select them and then exit them properly using the back/exit buttons to close them.
FYI, if you press the red end call button to get out of the contacts screen (or anywhere else), it doesn't actually close the application, it just takes you back to your desktop and leaves the application running.

  • Sliding n lcd problems on nokia n80...

    i have a nokia n80..
after using it a few months..
the screen going blurred after i sliding up the phone...
ive sent the phone a month a go n the technician said the lcd screen broke down n repaired it...
but yesterday, the same problems came out again n there is something bad with the key pad (navigation keys) when i slided the phone..
what caused the problem with my phone actually? is the sliding strip or other?

I think it is more then likely the ribbon cable that connects the two halves.
You can get it replaced at your local Nokia Care Centre. I think they should have replaced that instead of the display the first time.

  • Nokia E72 - Recharging battery

    Hi all,
I have just bought this Nokia E72 (from an authorized dealer, I must add here) about two days ago. I have used it until the battery went empty completely and the phone switched off itself. The with the phone switched off, I started recharching it. Based on my calculation (and using an original recharger from a Nokia 1209), the battery would be completely charged after approximately 4 hours. Now there are over 12 hours since the phone it is recharging (those small blocks on the battery bar are still moving) and it seems to me like it will recharge forever. What and where the problem might be ?
I would like to add here that I use the same battery recharger for my other Nokias as well (1209, 2323, E71) and the battery bar stops after the battery is fully charged (there is also this message on the display telling me to remove the recharger after the battery is fully charged).
Please anybody who had this problem in the past, let me know how should I solve this issue.
Have a nice day everybody !

    thetao wrote:
It's now roughly 36 hours after you post.  Did it finally finish charging?  There are "fast" Nokia chargers and "slow" Nokia chargers, but I don't think either should take 12 hours!  I don't believe the E72 battery is much different from that in the E71, so the charging time should be similar.  But where is the original E72 charger?
If you're still having trouble with charging, I suggest not over-thinking this, and swapping your phone (or at least the battery) for another unit.  Charging is one of the most basic phone operations, and if this doesn't work, I wonder what else could be wrong?
    Hi !
Sorry for not being here for a while. A long while ....
My E72 finished charging after about 12 hours and a half - this thing happened only for the first recharge.
I didn't use the charger that was in its box because that is a fast charger - the charger from Nokia 1209 that I used (and that I still use today) it's a slow one. I'm using that one because I don't want to "bomb" my battery with energy - I want the battery to take it slowly everytime I recharge it.
It's absolutely the same battery used on Nokia E71 and E6.
Now the phone gets fully recharged after every 4 hours - you could set your watch on this operation.

  • Nokia N80 - iMac G5 BT transfer freezes at 263.9kb

    Hi,
Each time I try to transfer a large file from my Nokia N80 to my iMac G5 (OS X 10.4.6) using BlueTooth the upload freezes exactly at 263.9kb I have no problem with files which size is under 263.9 kb
I've contacted Nokia regarding this issue and they answered me that this has nothing to do with us and that I should contact Apple support.
Any idea to fix this issue? Anybody alse having the same problem?
thanks a lot for your answers!
    Cheers
    Laurent

I just ran into this problem and Googling for "263.9" seems to reflect a number of similar cases.
A poster at another forum had received word from Nokia saying "nothing to do with us" and indeed all the Google hits indicated a Mac user suffering from the problem.
However, some information hinted that phone firmware updates would have fixed the problem for some models. Woohoo for contradictory information.
I ran into the problem using a factory fresh Nokia e70 and G4 PowerBook with 10.4.6, and the firmware for this phone is indeed the latest.
More information on this would be appreciated,
    J
