Nokia N800 Tablet - Cannot find a format which wil...

I am trying to play a movie on my N800 Tablet PC. I've tried all types of video extensions, but, continue to get error messages. Can anyone recommend a software program that will convert a dvd to a file that the N800 will recognize. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would like to use this on my vacation.
Thanks so much!
Cheryl

Hi chercom
You could use video converter such as Slysoft http://www.slysoft.com/en/clonedvd-mobile.html or YASA:http://www.yasasoft.com/yasadvdtomp4/ which are just two examples.
Find something that you can try before you buy, you are usually limited to converting clip of a few minutes in length but you can check the results before purchase.

  • Nokia 9500 problem: cannot find specified server

After some deliberation, I have finally managed to connect my Nokia 9500 to the internet via the WLAN router in my home. So I can access websites ok, although it's slow and some of the webpage elements don't load. Anyhoo... my problem is with Real audio files now. For some reason, it won't download them to my phone when I click save, it just gives me the message "cannot find specified server" and doesn't download anything. I even get this message sometimes as webpages are loading, but after clicking "ok" it continues to load the page and seems to work fine. Anyone know what the problem could be? I'm using a T-mobile pay-as-you-go sim in my phone and my ISP is Tiscali. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
The problem is that your internal machines need to access the server's dns to resolve the host name.
    2 steps.
    1. Ensure that DNS in server.app is forwarding requests to your ISP dns server and that server is set to provide DNS
for some or all clients and that you have your DNS primary zone setup with a machine record for the server.
    2. Change the DNS server address within network settings on all other devices to the servers tcpip address.
    Hope that helps
    Cheers
    Gerry

  • I cannot find a document which I think I asked to save to icloud when I didn't have wifi so now only have .folder title and no content (pages document). How do I retrieve content?

Back in September, I typed over a document, duplicated it and renamed duplicate. I think I then clicked save when prompted to save to icloud. At this time I wasn't connected to the internet. Now I cannot find the document but have found a .folder with the same name as the document I created but this folder is empty. Is there any way of retrieving the content of that original document created in Pages?

    I really don't understand.

  • Arch on Bay Trail Tablet cannot find Sdcard

Hello fellow Archers!! I am new to the Arch Linux Forums (or any forum for that matter), and I hope I've put this post in the proper place.
I've been using Arch for about 2 years now, and I'm absolutely in love with it. Every chance I get, I try to run Arch on any device I have. This last Christmas, I received a Toshiba Encore Mini (Bay Trail) tablet from my stepdad and when I found out that it had an x86 processor, my heart skipped a beat. I knew what had to be done.
After a month of research and fun, I have successfully been able to boot Arch on this tablet. I am using the stock 3.18.5-1 kernel (latest as of this post) and GRUB for the bootloader. Arch currently resides on a USB stick, and I've been able to move GRUB into the EFI system partition on the internal memory of the tablet. I've setup GRUB to be able to dual boot Windows and Arch, but of course the Arch entry only works when I have the stick plugged in.
Although I've been successful, I've still had some issues. The internal memory in the tab is 14GB, 4GB of which belongs to the Windows recovery partition. I'd love to be able to boot Arch on this tab without having to plug in the stick through OTG, as it is susceptible to damage and prevents me from being able to charge, but 10GB total space is not really optimal for what I want to use this tablet for. Luckily, there's an external microSD slot on the side. I bought a 32GB microSD to put in there and I wanted to make it my /home partition. Alas, when I booted into Arch and got ready to add the card to my fstab, it wasn't there! Here's the output of lsblk, lspci, and lsusb:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/989 … 094036.jpg
sda is the USB stick and mmcblk0 is the internal memory. The PNY in lsusb is the USB stick as well, the Logitech Unifying Receiver is my wireless keyboard/mouse, and the Genesys device is my USB hub.
I checked GRUB as well, and at the GRUB shell, ls turns up with:
    (hd0) (hd0,msdos2) (hd0,msdos1) (hd1) (hd1,gpt4) (hd1,gpt3) (hd1,gpt2) (hd1,gpt1) (hd2) (hd3)
hd2 and hd3 are blank and GRUB won't let me set them as root. I have also formatted and used the microSd card before in Windows, so I believe it should at least show up with a partition, so I don't think hd2 or hd3 could be the card.
So, my question is, what should I do to get my sdcard recognized by the tablet? Windows sees it just fine, even in Win10 Technical Preview.
The tablet is a Bay Trail device and uses only 32-bit UEFI for booting. It has no BIOS/CSM support. Along with the PCI bus it sports an i2c bus and an sdio bus. My guess is that it has something to do with GRUB or the UEFI firmware, but I decided it would be better to ask some experts.
Any help would be dearly appreciated! And thank you for your time!

Thanks for your reply. And you are absolutely right, the wireless card is SDIO. It happens to be a Realtek RTL8723BS.

Also, I installed i2c-tools, lm_sensors, and lshw a few minutes ago. They bring up nothing about an i2c bus or an SDIO bus.
I loaded up Device Manager on Windows and it lists all the controllers. It looks like the microSD is on the SDIO bus. Here's a picture:

  • Nokia Communication Centre cannot find my SMS/MMS

    Hello
I currently have a Nokia n70, which I am replacing with a new model. However.
No Nokia software can find my sms/mms messages so I can take a backup of them.
Latest firmware version on the phone:  v 5.0705.3.0.1
    Latest version of PC Suite.
    Windows 7 RC.
I can sync my phone with windows and everything works perfectly. (Contacts, notes, etc etc)
When I open Nokia Communication Center however, It just says: "getting messages" 0% (translated to english, so might differ) And then it just dissapears...
Nokia Photos just finds my photos and videos. But no texts..
When I try to take a backup of the messages (Everything else works just fine) I just get a "!" And nothing is backed up.
I can enter my sms and mms just fine on my phone.
The problem has been there for a while, but I have basically just ignored it. Since I was using the phone after all, and didn't really miss them. (In other words, same thing happened with Vista / Xp, so I doubt the reason is that I am using Win7)
I have ~2000 sms files, and ~50 mms files.
I am getting pretty desperate and willing to try anything. Quite a few of the messages are very personal and dear to me, so I would do anything to save them..
Maybe some application which can save messages in a .csv file?
    Anything
    Best regards.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi. I had the same problem with my N70.  This solved it (Nokia FAQ site (Australia) for PC Suite). Just follow the 5 steps listed and everything should be fine:
Q: Sending of short message with Nokia Text Message Editor fails.
    A:
Check the connectivity between your phone and PC. If the connection is fine, and other PC Suite applications work without problems, check your phone's operating system (ISA or Symbian) from www.nokia.com or from the phone's user guide.
If your phone's operating system is ISA (Series 40), check that your message settings are correct. Contact your local phone operator for more information.
If your phone's operating system is Symbian (S60, Series 80 or Series 90), check that the PC Suite Support file is installed in your phone. The PC Suite Support file is an add-on application for PC Suite usage with contacts and messages. You can check it from the phone's application list. See your phone's user guide for more information. In your situation, the PC Suite Support file might be corrupted or too old for the PC Suite version you are currently using. Do as follows:
    1) Disconnect the phone from the PC.
    2) Uninstall the PC Suite Support file from your phone.
    3) Reconnect your phone to the PC with the Get Connected wizard (on the PC Suite main window).
    4) PC Suite detects that the PC Suite Support file is missing and advises you to install it.
    5) Follow the instructions on the phone's display.
    Cheers.

  • I cannot find my downloads which I paid for from an application.

I recently bought some media from an app which was free. They have come up on my latest purchases on my credit card.
I can't find them as downloads on the iphone or the computer (when I have sunc the phone to the computer).
If I go to the app and go to the item I bought, the only way to access it is to press the the BUY button again.
Where are the downloads kept on the iphone?

It has possibly saved to the Photos app, but depending on what the format of the videos is, it may not be playable on the iPad.

  • Xbox360 cannot find my router, which is a WRT54GS v.6

Can someone help me set up my router so it will be able to find it.
I tried using some tactics found here
    http://forums.linksysbycisco.com/linksys/board/message?comm_cc=US&comm_lang=en&board.id=Wireless_Routers&message.id=53331&query.id=77031#M53331
    but it was no luck
    Thanks

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

upgrade the firmware on the router and then reset your modem and router after upgrading (use the little buttons on the back of the modem and router)
and use the port forwarding for ports 88 and 3074 (not port triggering)

  • Itunes for Windows 7, cannot find the album which was imported to my library

Tried to import an album from a CD to my iTunes library.  The iTunes dislogue box said the music was imported but it is nowhere to be found in My iTunes Library.  I attempted to download the CD again and the dialogue box said it had already been imported.  Where is it ??? The operation system is Windows 7.  And, I have had no such porblems in the past.

The first thing I would try is Missing Artist or Album not with others by same artist. I've also seen reports of people compaining that the Music section of iTunes doesn't list all their content. For some reason adding a new track such as the current iTunes Single of the Week is proposed, and even confirmed, as a solution, though to be honest I can't see why it would make any difference.
If you make a smart playlist that should match your recent addition does it show up in that?

  • Presenter cannot find publisher 2010 on a PC running Win7?

Help please...Presenter cannot find publisher 2010, which is installed on my PC with WIn7 OS please advise

I can only respond to your original postings about Microsoft Publisher. Did you really mean Office? You threw us for a loop since we have no connection with Publisher!
If you have Microsoft Powerpoint 2010 32-it version installed, then Adobe Presenter 7.07 will install in trial mode. make sure you are using the Presenter Trial from this webpage:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/presenter/
If you wanted to install the trial and you ran into this error, it usually means you used an older version of Presenter which did not support Office 2010. It also would occur if you installed MS Office 2010 64-bit version. Microsoft does not recommend end-users use the 64-bit version of Office. They recommend 32 bit Office. Please check that version.

  • Sky+ android app cannot find Sky HD box

Can anyone help?  Since switching to BT and using the Home Hub 3 my Sky+ app on my android tablet cannot find my Sky HD box on my network.  The Sky HD box has a wired connection (via a switch and Home Plug).  The tablet obviously connects wirelessly.  Sky Tech Support cannot offer any solution.  The Zeebox app running on the same tablet can connect and switch channels reliably so it is not a physical connection problem.  Very frustrating......

Same problem with my iPad, using a Home hub 3. I have also noticed that after time my Airplay printer cannot be found. Only solutions I have found are I) to reset the Sky box internet connection(works sometimes) or ii) reboot the router ( seems to consistently work). Very frustrating and given it is happening with two different pieces of kit, clearly a router problem.

  • "cannot find file" after formatting and moving!!

Wanted to have iTunes library included in Time Capsule backup. So had to reformat external hardrives where all my songs are from Windows do OS. Copied everything on other HD, reformatted HD with OS, copied back all songs. HD still has same name "MUSIC", but iTunes cannot find files.
Changed in iTunes preferences the location of files to ensure it searches in the right place AND also replaced with text editor in "iTunes Music Library.xml" file all links with new address of HD (now after reformatting to OS I found it to be slightly different despite still same name).
But iTunes still cannot find the files. Everything is the same as before, HD name, directory structure, file names, etc. ONLY difference is it all is on "OS formatted" drive. Don't want to lose ratings and playlists of over 15,000 songs....is there still a solution?

The moment I "drag out" the Tunes Library File, then there is nothing left there, and when I open iTunes it is empty.
That's as expected. That file is the database iTunes uses that keeps track of everything, so when you then launch iTunes, it's starting from scratch.
I can import the Playlists from the XML and they do appear, but still no songs, all is empty. If I try to reimport from the new location, then they "do not fit into the playlists", meaning ratings etc. are lost.
Then you apparently didn't get the XML file edited properly; it's not easy to do.
Why does the simple location function in iTunes Preferences not work?
It does, when used as designed. The preference is where new additions (imports & purchases) will be stored. It does not change the location for existing files.
Put the original library file back. Then launch iTunes, Get Info on a representative track, and look at the path to where it thinks the files should be and compare that to the actual path. Any difference at all will break things. If there are differences (drive name slightly different, any difference in folder names/structure, etc.; letter case counts), try correcting them in Finder and see if that gets things working again. If not, then you'll have to use the Add to Library command to get back your tracks which will lose all your ratings, etc.
Where does iTunes save the links to the original files so it can simply be changed?
In the iTunes Library file, which cannot be manually edited.

  • Sometimes "Safari cannot find the Internet plug-in" which I've installed!?

Just wondering if anyone can help....I do not have a Mac so am finding it difficult to test.
I have just published an online magazine which was initially in the .dnl file format, which has come to light that mac users cannot view.
To try and resolve this I created an .exe file but it would seem that most mac users cannot view this either as they do not have virtual pc etc... which is required to view the .exe file.
I have now created a PDF version which has satidifed some people on macs temporarily but trying desperately to offer something to mac users I thought I had the answer, by uploading the magazine to a browser so it does not require downloading.....but:
The first person to try it out for me got: Safari cannot find the Internet plug-in and on trying to obtain one it could not find one.
I really thought it would work as you do not need the .dnl reader until you try to save the book or detach it to view it on screen.
Does anyone know if there is a way to view the content in a web browser????
Any help would be much appreciated as I do not want to leave the Mac users out.
Here is the link incase anyone fancies trying it for me....any feedback would be appreciated.
