i had the N81, same problem with you. Its just the phone, its not a camera phone its a music phone and really the camera is rubbish on an N81, its why i changed to N82. Your just going to have to live with it.

Nokia N81-2G: Camera Feature Not Supported

1). My Nokia N81 Fails To Launch The Camera, And Each Time I Try To Open The Camera/Video I Keep Getting The Message "Camera: Feature Not Supported", Or It Tells Me To Restart The Device And Launch The Camera Again, But That Doesn't Help After Doing So.

Could you try the following steps:
1. Reboot the device by removing the battery.
2. And if that does not help, reset the device to factory settings; select Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Factory settings. To do this, you need the lock code. The default lock code is 12345. After resetting, the device may take a longer time to power on. Documents and files are unaffected.
This could be a hardware malfunction if the error still appears after the reset device, when starting the camera. In that case, the Nokia E71 device should be repaired in your local Nokia Care center.

Nokia N81 8gb Screen goes crazy

ok so i buaght my Nokia N81 like in january last year and ive been using it quiet regularly....
Until today... I slid the phones slider to reveal the keys to write a text message, when the screen went crazy with funky colours and such lines and random things on the screen. If i slide it up and down while its like this it changes its effects and stuff as if its something to do with the contacts of the slider and the screen. If i let the screen black out into powersaver it returns normal but if i slide it again to close the phone or open it back up it goes nuts again.
i tried leaving the battery out but no use.
LOTS OF HELP please ?
i was thinking a factory reset ??

Hi! I have the same problem as well! And this is the SECOND time this is happening! The first time I took it back to my SP, and they then replaced it with a brand new handset; that was 10 months after using my phone for the first time. Now, 8 months after receiving my brand new handset, I have the same problem again!
What was very strange to me, before it first happened, was that my slider became REALLY tight and difficult to manouevre, so I slid the screen up and down as it felt like there was something obstructing the slider, and out came a clear piece of sticky plastic film... I took no note of it, until the same thing happened to me about 2 weeks before my phone went wonky again.The funny thing is, my fiancé has the 2gb phone, and he seems to have no trouble at all with his handset, and he's now had his phone for more than a year (that's longer than I've had both of my handset before going crazy), so I'm thinking it must be a problem with the N81 8gb models. Now I need to take the phone back AGAIN, which I'm not very happy about... I don't want to have to take my phone back, or repair it, every 8 to 10 months... It's a waste of my time AND money.
Oh, and another thing... when they replaced my handset, I asked them what the problem was with my phone, and they said that they didn't know, but that they couldn't fix it! SERIOUSLY?! So now how exactly will I get to repair my phone if the Nokia technicians can't even find the problem NOR fix it?! I've basically spent ALL this money on a phone that only works for a few months until it's irrepairably broken... I don't think I'll be using another Nokia after this again...

Cannot send text message on Nokia N81

I have had my Nokia n81 for 2 months and it has worked perfectly, up until yesterday when surprise surprise, i started to get the dreaded "General:Memory full. Close some applications and try again" error like i did with my nokia n70.
I have:
Closed all applications (except for music player obviously)
Deleted ALL text messages
Changed Message memory to MASS MEMORY
Deleted ALL OLD calendar items
checked phone memory has 14Mb/24Mb remaining
Background is set back to plain boring default
No animations run in power saving etc
RAM has 37mb/37mb remaining (checked with FExplorer)
Deleted all UNUSED APPLICATIONS (only ones left are the ones that came with phone)
phone has the LATEST software version.
Basically, everything on the phone is as it should be so why am i getting this error? Is there any way of fixing it without a time consuming phone format?

I got the solution you just need to format your phone and it will delete all your files. Just click on *#7370#. It work for me hope this will work for you too and please inform others too.
Save all your contacts and important files first before doing it. It will totally reset your phone.

Can not open Web from Nokia N81

My Nokia N81 worked fine until today
I just connected it to PC Suite and made a synchronization - now I have folowing problem - I can not open web-browser any more.
When I go into menu and then try to open Icon web - screens becames blue (desctopimage) for a second and then I'm landing again in menu just as it was before click on icon
What can be the reason of this problem?
Similar happened also with N-Gage Icon. I've tried it with memory card and without it - the result is the same - I can not go into web-section of my Nokia

the synchronization. You should re-set your
internet settings. If the issue persists your
phone will need reformat.

My three month old Nokia N8 camera flash wont owrk under any light conditions, you can switch it on manually, leave it on auto..... doesnt matter it wont flash.

Hi, my Nokia 808 camera shutter is not opening or closing. It is stuck in a half opened state. M is there anything I can do, before sending in for repairs, to try and reset the shutter? I can't take any photos as they end up over exposed! Thanks

If it's mechanical shutter has failed you have no choice other than to return your 808 to Nokia Care facility for repair!

Hello I have a nokia N81 and i recently installed whatsapp. While configuring it I was asked to enter the Username I entered my name on hitting the continue button the application closed automatically. Its annoying and I an unable to use the application.

try it, it could be the problem. Also update your phone. That should hopefully solve the problem.

probably the flexi cable. It doesn't sound like software at all to me. You should take your phone to a care center to have it checked out. The flexi cables are not too expensive

Nokia pro cam for lumia 920

Hi I have a nokia Lumia 920, I updated it to amber using nokia software updated for retail. At that time I was able to install nokia pro cam, but I had to reinstall amber because of minor problems and when I tried re installing pro cam it said "this app does not support your device". Please advice me what to do, I really love the pro cam app

Nokia Pro Cam photos post-processing makes yellowi...

Hello there! I'm here to report a common problem which happens while taking pics with Nokia Pro Cam on my lumia 920. When you take a pic it has right colours and is very sharp but after apps' post-processing the pic turns yellowish and a bit softer. It doesn't look too good after that treatment. I'm asking for patch that would prevent this problem. While I was at Windows Phone central-forums I saw that I'm not alone with this issue.
There is photos when one can see this issue.
First is just after taking pic and second is after processing it. I guess one can see very clear difference.

i cant seem to update my nokia n81 everytime i go into nokia software updater and it searches for phones connected to my computer is says it cant find any even though my phone is connected to the computer according to PC suite i have vista 64bit if that changes anythin all my phones settings are normal

Nokia Pro Cam: Color Temperature / Balance

As a creative I purchased this phone as to take better photos. As it does that sometimes others the auto color balance doesn't get it correct. Using the limited manual settings isn't very good either as usually they are worse. If anyone at nokia reads this would you please consider adding in 3-4 steps between each color balance setting so if say "sunny" is too warm you can go a step in one direction or the other to fine tune how it looks. Adding this feature would really make it a better application and help get perfect photos everytime. As of now the iphone auto color balance tends to look betteer, eventhough the quality of the Nokia images are better if the color isn't as pleasing then its all for nothing. Please add finer color balance / color temperature controls to the Nokia Pro Cam application!!

Photoshop CC has made Camera RAW available as a filter. That means it is easy to use it on video.
Can you do anything in Camera RAW to a video that you can't do the hard way with color correction and levels, etc, in Premiere Pro? No. Is it easier because you are used to the sliders? You bet!
This first frame is from a video I shot to test the codecs my camera can use. The trees are rather dark, because, well, I didn't care when I shot the video. I was concerned with the movement of the juggling toys.
But if I take it into Photoshop and use Camera RAW I can do very quickly what would take a lot longer, for me, in Premiere Pro. You will have to take my word for it that the color of the shirt in the corrected frame is more realistic. The Camera RAW settings were pretty much what I do to almost all of my photographs. Very slight adjustment to exposure, a little clarity, bring out the shadows, bring down the highlights that are too white and bring up the contrast.
