Nokia N81 reboots when using wireless LAN

HAs anybody else come across this problem, I have a N81-3 with 8Gb sim card, basically when using wireless lan it reboots, I see there is a firmware upgrade that improves wifi stability but when using the software upgrader it says there are no updates available for my phone, any ideas.??

The CR-200 only charges at 750mA and I am not even sure that is 100% transferred through the Qi charging. Charging at less than 1A will likely not be enough to keep up with the drain from using the phone while navigating. I think it will use much more than that.
I use a Anker 13.000 mA battery with my phone while rinding my bike and have had several instances where I accidentally used the 1A output (it has both a 1 and 2 A output) to find that would actually not keep up with the phone running navigation and cycle tracking apps running (in addition to cellular and some other tasks).
Navigation _will_ require some serious amount sof power and _will_ in general make the phone feel warm to the touch. I very much doubt a wireless charger will be able to provide the juice needed to keep up the charge.

Keynote presentations when using wireless libratone zipp speaker there is a 2sec delay before any slide containing video/audio plays - tried connection through apple TV still the same. Any ideas?

Thanks Gary, I think I should have mentioned that I have wired my other speakers and it works fine.
I just wanted to go wireless when presenting in front of class, simply to avoid trailing wires from the macbook which I position in front of me on a desk next to the projector and the speakers are behind me next to the screen.
I have struggled to find a solution, and reading through other discussions it is a problem that perhaps only Apple can solve.
I hope the new 'Yosemite' will resolve the problem.
Thank you once again for your reply.

  • Firefox opens websites when hard wired to router, but when using wireless I get a server not found message.

Firefox (3.6.10) opens websites when hard wired to router, but when using wireless I get message: SERVER NOT FOUND FIREFOX CAN'T FIND THE SERVER AT SEARCH.AVG.COM. My homepage is http://www.google.com/firefox?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official. My anti-virus is AVG free 8.5.448. What can cause this?
If Work Offline is checked in Firefox File, I can get to Google search site. When I un-check it I still get the Server Not Found message

Did you check the connection settings?

  • Domain Logon fails using wireless LAN

    Hi Sir,
I am setting up an ACS server to authenticate the wireless LAN users using PEAP MS-CHAPv2for one of my existing customer. They need to login to domain whenever they need to access to the network
On the wireless client's end, the OS is Xp and the client will use Windows XP wireless zero configuration. I have put in the necessary setting in order for it to support PEAP. I managed to get authenticated by checking against the passed authentications log found in the ACS.
However, the problem happens when I tried to reboot the desktop and Domain Logon appears, I was not able to logon to the Domain. I think I know the cause of the problem. It was because the wireless card is not authencated yet prior to the Domain logon screen.
How can I connect to the wireless network prior to the appearance of the Domain logon windows. There is no options for me to try in the XP wireless zero configuration to activate the wireless LAN before the Domain Logon windows comes out.
    Thank you.
    Delon

Even if still it does not work, ensure the following:
    1) Change the logon credentials for the ACS services to use a domain administrator account. Often times the local member server administrator account does not have any rights on the AD.
    a. Ensure the ACS services start with the Domain Administrator account.
    b. Ensure you are able to log in to the server using this Domain Administrator account .
    c. Ensure the Domain Administrator account (or the account with which the services start) have privileges to log on locally, Log on as a service and Act as part of the operating system.
    2) Ensure the FQDN of all domain controllers is added to the DNS names.

  • Windows 7 VM has DNS Problem When Using Wireless

    Hello All,
I've been fighting this virtual machine networking problem for over a week now. If anyone has a well-informed suggestion (not a guess) I would appreciate hearing about it.
Here's the problem in a nutshell and then I'll give more details: I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) as my primary (i.e., host) OS. I'm running Windows 7 Home Professional (32 bit) as the guest OS in "Windows Virtual PC" (note that this is *not* the same as "Virtual PC 2007"). If I configure the VM to use my host's wired Ethernet connection, the guest OS can always see the machines on my local network and can always reach the Internet just fine. On the other hand, if I configure the VM to use only my host's wireless connection then the guest OS can still see machines on my local network but CANNOT reach the Internet, except very intermittently (e.g., for maybe 1-2 minutes every hour or so).
I've tried to anticipate the questions you might ask so here is some additional information:
The computer is a Lenovo W500 laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit. The wireless network adapter is an "Intel WiFi Link 5300 AGN".
My Internet connection is via AT&T DSL using a wire2 wireless modem/router.
I have all the updates from Microsoft and Lenovo for this machine. It is 100% up to date with the latest patches and drivers.
I'm running the 64-bit version (or at least I used the 64 bit installer) of "Windows Virtual PC" which I downloaded  from this link.
I am *not* running and I did not download "XP Mode".
When the guest OS loses it's connection to the Internet the following message appears in the Windows Event Log:
"Name resolution for the name address.yahoo.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded."
I am able to ping an external machines outside my network but only if I use the IP address. If I specify the host name it cannot be resolved.
ARE YOU GETTING THE IMPRRESSION THIS IS A DNS PROBLEM??? It looks like I do not have access to a DNS when using the host's wireless connection.
On the host OS, the "Virtual PC Network Filter Driver" *IS* installed and selected under my "Wireless Network Connection Properties" settings.
Below are the results of running ipconfig on the guest OS and then the host OS. Note that I am able to ping 192.168.1.254 from the host OS but not from the guest OS. I think this is the crux of the problem.
Here's what I get from an ipconfig /all executed on the guest OS:

    Hello,
I am not very familiar wth Microsoft Security Essentials, but believe that it just makes use of the existing Windows Firewall which is present with the operating system.
To me it is odd that the guest OS reports 192.168.1.254 as the IP address for its gateway and DHCP server yet it cannot access them when pinged.  Let's try pinging from host to guest (and vice-versa)  and see what happens:
From the host OS at 192.168.1.78, try pinging the guest OS at 192.168.1.75.
Then, from the guest OS at 192.168.1.75, trying ping the host OS at 192.168.1.78.
Is each operating system able to ping each other?

  • When use wireless connection the status of CPU will be 100% , hang

I'm using laptop  HP 14-r037tu. When I connect network by using wireless connection, my laptop will hang suddenly and , Blue screen with CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT.
But if i use with network cable (LAN), then no problem at all.
I already tried roll back driver, upgrade wifi driver as latest, scan virus, repair system. What should I do now?

    Hi there @CJch
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.
I understand that you have been getting a Blue screen with the CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT message. I am happy to help with this.
There are a few possibilities you can try, if the drive is readable. First, I would recommend you try to backup any critical data you do not want to lose, if possible.  Have you run any of the BIOS hardware tests on the memory and the hard drive?
Assuming you have the data backed up, then I would start with a System Restore to a point before the problem began.
Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)
If after the restore you are still getting the blue screen, you can try using system recovery to reinstall the factory image. This is why you want the backup, as everything will be overwritten.

Let me know if either of those, (hopefully the first one) works for you.

  • I want to use Back to my Mac, but my iMac using wireless LAN will not wake from sleep

I've read a ton of posts, and it seems that others have similar problems.
Here are some details: I have a 2 year old iMac now running updated install of Yosemite. I have a brand new MBP running clean install of Yosemite.
I have a 2 year old AirPort Extreme connecting my home wireless LAN. How can I get my MBP to connect to my iMac using Back to my Mac once the iMac has gone to sleep. Back to my Mac works if all computers are active.
The appropriate energy saver selections have been made. Leaving the iMac awake is not an option.
it just doesn't seem to work. No wake on wireless LAN?
    Help please

Someone else may come along and have an idea, but as far as I know the iMac shuts off wifi when asleep so it can't be used to wake up the Mac. It has to be a wired connection.
Leaving the iMac awake with the display off really doesn't use much energy so it might be worth considering.

  • DSL Connection Very slow ONLY when using wireless router

My DSL connection was running super slow (approx 136 Kbs) - I disconnected the Linksys wireless router and plugged by DSL modem directly into the computer.  Then my internet speed increased to 1.4 Mbs (a 10 fold increase).
Any suggestions on how / why my speed drops so extensively when using the Linksys wireless routher (wrt45g).
    Thanks

Are you using the same test each time to measure the speed?
The reason I ask is that Windows usually reports its download speed in KB/sec (Kilobytes per second).  But most web (internet) speed tests report their speed in Mbps (Megabits per second.)
A 1.4 Mbps line will typically pass data at about 140KB/sec.
To help determine what kind of problem you are having, do the same speed test in 3 different ways:
    1)  Connect one computer, by wire, directly to your modem
    2)  Connect one computer, by wire, directly to your router  (all other computers and network devices should be off).
    3)  Connect one computer, wirelessly, to your router  (all other computers and network devices should be off).
Report back your results, and also, please state what line speed you are paying for.  Once we have this, we will hopefully be able to help you.

  • WiFi breaks down when using wireless headset

    Hi,
every time when I connect my wireless headset my WiFi connection breaks down. When I test it with my daughters iMac and it works fine. There are 2 main differences between both iMac. I am using wireless keyboard and mouse, she doesent. She still uses OS X 10.5.8.
    Any thoughts on this?
    best regards
    Zoor

Sounds like there may be a channel conflict, try changing channels on the router. You will need to learn the router's utilities to do this unless you use an Apple Airport Extreme or Airport Express. Then all you need to do is run Airport Utility and change the channel, which is very simple.

  • Empty Nokia Phone Browser when using PC Suite

I have recently installed Nokia PC Suite v6.86.9.3 for use with my Nokia N95 8GB. I have also updated the firmware on my phone to version 20.0.016 so I should have all the latest versions.
Everything installed ok and i opened PC Suite as normwal. I can see my received messages in the bottom left corner of the Nokia PC Suite main screen but when I click on the envelope icon to create or send message it opens My Computer and nothing happens. The same problem occurs when I click on File manager or Contacts.
I have noticed in My Computer that I now have the Nokia Phone Browser. If I open this I can click on the icons positioned to the left of the window to create a new contact, create a new text message or refresh the folder, however the folder itself is empty.
I have read in the help files that you should be able to browse contact information & text messages along with the phone memory and memory card, but I'm getting no where.
Can anyone help me with this?

    Hi,
Can anybody confirm if this is still the way to solve the problem with phone browser not showing everything?
I used to work with PC suite for Nseries and could easily access my messages and contacts through phone browser. I recently did a firmware upgrade (to version V 31.0.015)  for my N95 8GB and installed Ovi suite (2.1.1.1.) and PC suite (7.1.55.0) since then I`ve had several problems among others with maps updater and map loader. For now I`ve solved the maps issue manually. I can make and restore back-ups etc. so it`s got me confused.
I tried on my XP (SP 3) pc in case of compatibility issue for Windows 7 64x but same problem, deleted connectivity cable, all ovi/nokia related stuff, reboot, then restart, pc did found new hardware, drivers added correctly but no messages or contacts in phone browser (the rest of the folders does appear!) and as soon I click on my phone in the tray pc suite shuts down but no way to remove hardware safely.
As my screen also seems to have trouble showing stability at startup since this upgrade, (it comes on, shows my personal picture on screen, takes some extra long seconds to get connected, rebuilds the screen completely, then disappears for half a minute and decides to pop back on again. But when I enter menu a long double line shows up on the right side screen -like opening a browser with a scroll downbar- then the bar disappears and the rest is working just fine! I actually never had any issues with my trusted and beloved phone before hence the long wait for firmware upgrade, if it wasn`t for the update to free maps.. (got a new N97 for a few days so I got excited about it )
The weirdest thing is I`ve already did some soft/hard resets-only with digits not with fingers-, also reinstalled the firmware update again so I`m a bit clueless to what to do next, so I want to try as suggested above but since that was posted 2 years ago...
    Any new or better suggestions?
    thanks!

  • Shared folder disappears when using wireless

When my iMac and Mini connected to the Airport Extreme using ethernet, both computers could see each other's shared folders in Finder. I switched my setup so that the Mini is wireless (iMac still ethernet), but now the mini can see the iMac's shared folders, but the iMac doesn't see anything.
I tried turning off/on the firewall on the iMac and even deleted/re-added the airport settings, but neither worked.
The iMac's shared folders are all set with Read and Write permissions, and the AFP checkbox is selected.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    your ip's look correct.
I had an issue similar to this with a fresh install of leopard whereby shared computers were not appearing in the sidebar of the finder window.
I manually connected and thereafter the sidebar would show that computer.
so from your iMac press command+k and in the connect to server window enter 10.0.1.197 as the server address.
and do the same from your mac mini.
Then restart your macs and see if they now show the correct shared computers in the sidebar.

  • Nokia N8 Freezing When Using Opera

I have upgraded my Nokia N8-00 to Nokia Belle and whenever I try to open opera mobile or opera mini and after using for a little the phone freezes forcing me to hold the power key for 8 seconds and the device vibrates 3 times. I downloaded opera browsers from ovi store but I think that opera has not released opera for Nokia N8-00 running on Nokia Belle. Also I cannot run more than two applications when running opera as the device freezes
    Any help will be appreciated.

    @bassmantrb5ii and @rayhipkiss
I did what you have instructed me to do. I performed a factory reset by *#7370# then reinstalled Nokia Belle and downloaded Opera Mobile through ovi store and the problem was the same. The browser seemed to b freezing and after closing it it makes the phone become very slow. I have almost 86.1MB free memory on C: Phone Memory and almost 8.6GB free on E: Mass Memory. Opera Mini seems to work very fine.
Do this when you open Opera Mobile and at the settings tab click on settings then go to advanced and after that at User Agent select Desktop and I am sure that it will give you the same problem. I kept User Agent as Desktop so that I can be able to view pages like I do in my computer and that is the main reason why I downloaded Opera Mobile. When I was using Symbian Anna it worked very fine even though I set the User Agent as Desktop. I think that the problem is with Opera Mobile and not with my phone.
Do what I have told you to do and give me your feedback as soon as possible.
    Thanks in advance

  • Mail won't connect to SMTP server when using wireless instead of ethernet

I receive the following error message ONLY when I am online via a wireless connection, but not when I am online via an ethernet cord:
*This message could not be delivered and will remain in your Outbox until it can be delivered. The connection to the server "smtp.XXXXX.com" on port 2525 timed out.*
(note that XXXX is just the name of my mail server that I've removed for security reasons)
I am able to receive email fine regardless of whether I'm using a wireless or ethernet connection.
Any thoughts? I've occasionally run into this issue before (at coffee shops and such) and think it may have something to do with the type of wireless connection (too weak, low security, other?) I'm particularly stumped about this one though since it's simply the wireless network at my college which has worked fine in the past (though perhaps they did change something?)
    Thanks!

That's because the internet provider whom you are connecting to via wireless is blocking that port/server address as a security measure.
Unless you have an account with whom the host is, you wont be able to send emails...
you could try setting the outgoing port to one of the following you could have some luck, no guarantee's though...
    21, 25, 5521, 5525, 7721, 7725
    hope that works

  • When connecting wired my router straight from my internet provider I get speeds in the 90mps range.  Now when connecting wired through my airport extreme I get speeds near 10mps. Also when using wireless for my ipad3 I recieve download speeds of .63mps.

When connecting, wired, to my router from my ISP I get speeds in the 90mbps range.  Then when connecting, wired, to my Airport Extreme I get speeds of 10mbps.  Wirelessly I get download speeds of 6mbps on my laptops and only 1mbs with my Ipad3.  I am making sure only one device is sharing the network to make sure to get accurate results.  Why are things so slow?

    Hi Ty,
First, check with you ISP to see what speed they've promised.  In my case, they indicated that the speed should be greater than 50 Mbps.  If they say that it should be significantly higher than what your getting, then try the following if you're using Airport Utility v.6.:
    1. Open the Airport Utility (Desktop: Command+Shift+U to open Utility Folder, select Airport Utility)
    2. Click on the visual representation of the Airport Extreme and then select "Edit" (bottom right corner)
    3. When the window opens (to a tab "Base Station"), click on the "Wireless" tab,
-it should have the following options: Network Mode, Wireless Network Name, Wireless Security, Wireless Password, Verify Password, a checkbox with "Enable Guest Network", and a button "Wireless Options..."]
    4. Select "Wireless Options", which should open another window with the following options:
5Ghz network name, Country, a checkbox with "Create hidden Network", Radio Mode, 2.4 GHz Channel, and 5 GHz Channel [both of which can stay on "Automatic"]
    5. Clicking on  "Radio Mode" will bring up a list in which the las option should read:
    802.11n only (5Ghz) - 802.11n only (2.4 GHz)
Once you click "Save", your router will blink amber for a little while and then it should work.
Hope this helps.  Let me know if it does/doesn't.
