  • Nokia N8 camera - noisy photos in low light

I am dissapointed that N8 camera take very noisy photos in low light conditions. in the night the photos looks horible, but not only in the night, even if you are inside and there is no very much light then the photos are noisy.
I had the same problems with my old N73. After that I had a N95 8Gb and this phone tooks good photos even in the night. Now with N8 I am back to N73 noisy photos I can say that N95 8Gb photos are better than N8 photos, without exagerating.
Is there a camera application that I can use instead of  original camera appl from Nokia in order to take better photos? Otherwise I would need to change my phone again

I tried the Camera Update from Betalabs and also I took the CameraPro 2.2 from Store. No changes, same noisy photos in Low light. CameraPro is a useless application, no improvements to original Camera appl from Nokia and has some bugs. Maybe only the Antishake option is good, since if using the dedicated button to take photos then sometime are blurred.
I think the LowLevelDriver for Camera is the problem in N8 photos, so no application can solved this. I read an article from Nokia and they said that intentionally changed the Camera behavior in order to have very good photos in good light, this causing noisy photos in low light. I can not understand this. If I want very good photos I would use a DSLR, but I want good photos in all conditions, like with N95 for example.

  • Nokia Pro Cam photos post-processing makes yellowi...

Hello there! I'm here to report a common problem which happens while taking pics with Nokia Pro Cam on my lumia 920. When you take a pic it has right colours and is very sharp but after apps' post-processing the pic turns yellowish and a bit softer. It doesn't look too good after that treatment. I'm asking for patch that would prevent this problem. While I was at Windows Phone central-forums I saw that I'm not alone with this issue.
There is photos when one can see this issue.
First is just after taking pic and second is after processing it. I guess one can see very clear difference.

I see the same thing on my 620 (yes, I know Pro Cam is not officially supported by the 620 and would not work as good as on 920 or 1020, but I found a way to get it  the interface is just so much better)
When I take a picture with manual focus, in the screen the pic looks sharp, but when i open the gallery, it changes (wll, postprocesses) to blurry
just a reminder, using unsupported apps may cause serious hardware problems in short/long term. i'm sure u won't be happy when u see melting plastic parts and  some smoke on your device

  • Nokia X6 Camera in Low-Light?

Currently have a Nokia N82 with Xenon flash which I'm finding hard to replace due to the distinct lack of xenon-equipped phones around these days, although the poor thing does now appear to be dying after over two years of heavy use (although a new battery may be enough).
Just wondering how the dual-LED flash copes with taking photos in low light conditions on the X6? Is it good enough to take pics of friends in a bar type thing? To be honest the xenon flash on the N82 still has nothing on a proper digital camera, but at least you can see stuff, unlike on most single-LED camera phones I've tried.
Any other thoughts on the X6 welcome, too. Tempted to buy one today!

Camera stores used to sell hand held flash "guns" that were independent of cameras. I'm sure such things still exist. It would probably be easier to use a proper camera, though. I have a Sony digital P&S that takes very nice pictures which are easily transferred to the iPad using the Camera Connection Kit.

  • Nokia N82.. Anything to know?

I'm upgrading my N73 which unfortunately is under a year old because of the following factors:
    - Camera has completely packed up after intermittent periods of not working.
    - Camera slide gets dirty very easily, so while taking photos even though the slide is open it flicks back to idle mode.
    - Intermittent 3G (UTMS) failures on ALL networks. This could also become a total failure like the camera.
So I move to my question,
What positive and negatives (minus the keys, they're fine) should I know about the N82?
I've not seen any negative views at all, and makes me glad that I didn't get the N95/N95-8GB as they seem to have a constant array of problems.
    Thanks,
    Andy
    Owned: Nokia 3510i, Nokia 3120, Nokia 6230i, Nokia 6233, Nokia N73, Nokia N82.
    Current: Nokia N900!

I can't find any negatives with the N82. In fact it restored my faith in smartphones after my bad experience with the E65 and the disappointment of the N70.
I've had it since the middle of december and not had a single crash or random reboot. It still feels as fast as the day I bought it, even after installing over 40 apps and themes into phone memory. Firmware updating is a breeze thanks to user data preservation.
It has to be the fastest symbian based smartphone i've used and it's a lot quicker whilst accessing menus than the N95 or N95 8GB. Build quality is very solid.
I have had to disable 3G on it because I live and work in poor 3G signal areas which when enabled causes the signal to go up and down like a yo-yo. I have had to do this on all of my past phones so it's a network issue.
One thing that I don't think the N82 will be good at is ngage gaming as the buttons are all wrong for that.
I highly recommend this phone to anyone. If there's anything specific you want to know, just ask.

  • Nokia 808 camera lens not working - help

Hi, my Nokia 808 camera shutter is not opening or closing. It is stuck in a half opened state. M is there anything I can do, before sending in for repairs, to try and reset the shutter? I can't take any photos as they end up over exposed! Thanks

If it's mechanical shutter has failed you have no choice other than to return your 808 to Nokia Care facility for repair!
Happy to have helped forum in a small way with a Support Ratio = 37.0

  • Nokia Pro Cam: Color Temperature / Balance

As a creative I purchased this phone as to take better photos. As it does that sometimes others the auto color balance doesn't get it correct. Using the limited manual settings isn't very good either as usually they are worse. If anyone at nokia reads this would you please consider adding in 3-4 steps between each color balance setting so if say "sunny" is too warm you can go a step in one direction or the other to fine tune how it looks. Adding this feature would really make it a better application and help get perfect photos everytime. As of now the iphone auto color balance tends to look betteer, eventhough the quality of the Nokia images are better if the color isn't as pleasing then its all for nothing. Please add finer color balance / color temperature controls to the Nokia Pro Cam application!!

Photoshop CC has made Camera RAW available as a filter. That means it is easy to use it on video.
Can you do anything in Camera RAW to a video that you can't do the hard way with color correction and levels, etc, in Premiere Pro? No. Is it easier because you are used to the sliders? You bet!
This first frame is from a video I shot to test the codecs my camera can use. The trees are rather dark, because, well, I didn't care when I shot the video. I was concerned with the movement of the juggling toys.
But if I take it into Photoshop and use Camera RAW I can do very quickly what would take a lot longer, for me, in Premiere Pro. You will have to take my word for it that the color of the shirt in the corrected frame is more realistic. The Camera RAW settings were pretty much what I do to almost all of my photographs. Very slight adjustment to exposure, a little clarity, bring out the shadows, bring down the highlights that are too white and bring up the contrast.

  • N82 camera release button not working

    Hi,
It seems that the camera release button on my N82 has stopped working. When I press it nothing happens - netiher halv-way or at full pressure. Hence the camera doesn't focus either.
    *#0000# gives me:
    V 31.0.016
    09-12-08
    RM-313
    nokia N82 (03.01)
    What can I do?
Assign another key to be the the camera release button?
    Will resetting the phone work?
    Any other suggestions?
    Regards
    Erling

Got it... but then I lost even more.
The reason why the camera release button wasn't working was because my SDHC had become corrupted. Long story short I got it formatted using the panasonic SD card formatter... and runs a could of checks to ensure it's healthy....
Then I took it to my Nokia phone to format it but here it FAILS!
SInce then the card seems toast. It's not recognized by my phone(s) - it's not recognized by my PC. Not in XP nor in Ubuntu....
    Sad!

  • Nokia N8 camera settings is not saved

    Hey.
I found out that all the camera settings is not saved. For exampel i always want the grid displayed but then i have to turn it on manuelly every time. Same goes for the timer, id like it to be on 2sec so the picture not is taken as you push the button (shaky etc).
Probably more camera settings that not saved havent checked it all.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

OK first of all look at this, 333 people viewed your original post and followed by 171, 144 and the last one that you responded 55 people viewed and yet your the only one with this problem lol
Here is the thing, I'm sure nokia had a damn good reason for not letting the grid option be set as default, and if you can't press two buttons to get to it, well that's your own fault for being lazy lol all these people viewed your post and not even one decided to say something, that's probably because no one really have a problem with what your complaining about and I don't count that new user since all her said was "No reply from Nokia on this???" hehe
anyways if nokia makes any changes in their camera setting and give us more options, well GREAT, but right now most people are happy with their N8 camera and its setting. Their are much more important issues regarding Nokia N8 and you picked the least important one lol way to go.
Don't forget that you  can't compare the N8 with a digital camera, just because you can do things differently on a digital camera doesn't mean you suppose to do it on a camera phone. In my opinion the N8's setting is damn good, could get better and if nokia does something about it Great but I can do what I wanna do with the setting. So please try not to bring up any little problem you thing it has or you thing needs to be changed because I really don't think what you calling a problem is a problem

  • Nokia 6120c camera green lines

Can u pls help me with my problem of my nokia 6120c camera after taking a picture especially in dark area there was
a color green lines, my friend nokia mobile same model as mine there was no problem even when u shot on any dark area. i update already my software online now V 05.11 21-04-08 RM 243 Nokia 6120c (B20.01). is there any software to correct this problem?

taking a photo in dark areas, of course there will be green lines, this is due to the low sensitivity of the 6120's camera to low light areas. this is a normal process, this will occur with any poorer-quality camera, whether it be a standalone digital or mobile phone camera. other phones may not have this effect as their camera sensors are better at coping with low light situations, have higher megapixel count etc.
so to answer your question, i doubt that any software update would resolve this issue, as this is completely normal to occur

  • The new Nokia Pro Cam is not user friendly AT ALL ...

After the Amber update on my Lumia 920, I downloaded the new Nokia Pro Cam app, due to most people claiming that it produces very good quality photos. I agree that the photos clicked using Pro Cam are of better quality than those clicked with  the built in camera app. But this Pro CAM is not at all user friendly.
First thing is the most frustrating. The built in camera app allows taking photos by just touching anywhere on the screen, but the Pro Cam required you to touch one specific spot on the screen for this purpose. This is highly inconvenient, especially when taking self photos using the main camera. I know that the photo can be clicked even using the camera launch button, but this serves no purpose because pressing that button actually shakes the phone a bit and makes the photo blurry.
The next thing is, the settings of Pro Cam are denoted by symbols and not text. Camera professionals may feel comfortable with these images, but for the common man, its really difficult to understand what these symbols actually mean. I don't understand how Nokia came up with the idea of complicating matters by replacing the text with symbols for settings.
Finally, there are no settings at all for the front camera, which is also a disappointment becasue we're forced to use the deafult settings.
Hence, in spite of better image quality with this Pro Cam, I'd rather stick with the built-in camera app because the Pro Cam is too cumbersome and tedious to use. So what do you people feel about this Nokia Pro Cam?

    Hi,
Maybe the following explanations can help.
    1. There is a plus point to this also. Suppose you need to only focus on a subject and not shoot straight away. You can do that by touch the screen where you want to focus, without actually taking the shot. Shot can then be taken by pressing the dedicated on-screen shutter button.
I actually prefer it this way. You just can do that in the WP8 camera app.
    2. Here again, all the symbols used are standard photography symbols you will find on any dedicated camera. Even they don't have full names, only symbols. This should not be a major problem, you will learn very quickly what all these symbols mean.
    3. People usually use front camera for video chat (or to check if your hair is ok or not!). The requirement for video chat is that you don't need a very high end image/video quality. Moreover, the front facing camera quality is not that good too, so there is no point is providing all that functionality used for rear camera.
You can try using Nokia Glam Me lens, to add some post processing to selfies.
    Best Regards,
    Ayushmaan

  • Nokia N82 sequence mode

Is "sequence mode" in Nokia N82 as bad as in Nokia N95 ?
In my previus mobile - Sony Ericsson K800i I could take 9 photos per second. This superb option, caused fantastic photos of moving objects.

Nokia could produce something similar though.
The best way to get a quick response is to use the boards. Please do not be offended if I don't answer emails immediately.
