Nokia N9 on Standby Mode Displaying Time

My N9 is displaying time on the standby mode. Is there a way to switch off this feature.

Turn it off in menu->settings->device->display/screen-> wait/standby mode. Sorry for the bad translation. I don't bother to turn on english as it needs a reboot

Prior to it being unlocked it charged up no problem.
If you have a new phone you need to keep it on charge for 16 hours. Once the battery is fully charged the charge indicator stops moving which would tell you that the battery is full.

Displaying messages in standby mode

Hi!
I have E50 and yesterday I saw my colleges E50 and was surprised, then I saw how “New messages” are displayed in standby mode. Then I receive New message it just is displayed “New Message (1)” and on his E50 was shown “Sender” and Preview of message text! Is it an option of some fresh version of prone software or it is adjustable? I couldn’t find where I can change option to get the same presentation!

Disable camera standby mode in nokia n95

Hello
I cannot record a video over 1 hour with my n95, or so it would seem. So I would like to use my phone as a "video source" for my TV-card, so I could just plug my phone into my TV-card and use that card to do the actual recording. But every time I do this, my phone informs me about standby mode being initialized after one minute of "projecting the video to my TV-card". How can I disable this message?

Well, the time-out has a max limit of 20 seconds and I've already set that to the max limit, but the issue still exists.
I understand that the only way is to press a button now to see the screensaver (time), but this is not what I want I had a very basic earlier model and it didn't have that issue.
I am sure there should be a way, even hidden or via some changes in the firmware that can allow me to disable the automatic power-save. I can't believe this is a hopeless case, this is a very basic request.
Pleaseeeeeeeeeee help me, I might stop using that phone with all its other nice features just because of this issue.

Curve 8900 Keeps going in Standby Mode

Hi,
My Curve 8900 keeps going into Standby mode by itself even when nothing has been touched. Gives message "Entering Standby mode. Press the Mute key again to exit Standby mode." Looks like others have posted similar problems. The device is quite new but without warranty.

Mine keeps going into standby too. What a piece of **bleep** all blackberrys are. If it weren't for the messenger I would have switched to a nokia a long time ago. I doubt this thread will raise a response from RIM.

I have a problem_ sometimes my bb sets into that 'kind' of standby mode, where nobody can reach me, because I got kicked out of the carriers circuit.
As soon as I notice it, the device asks me to reenter the pin to get into the carrier.
Sometimes there are a few days nothing happens and sometimes it happens twice or three times a day.
ADVICE and HELP requested.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
3) Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try booting into Safe Mode:

It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.
If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, then you may need to consider more drastic actions -- WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload, and the "Bare Bones" OS Reload Process. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup to your PC...please review the Backup link in my auto-sig on this post for instructions.
You may also want to talk to your carrier to see if they can look at their network for any issues.

I have a Nokia E5
I have tried to experiment with the Modes function, whereby you can have one profile for business and another for personal.
The first time I went into Modes (from the control panel), I was asked to go into "Active Standby Mode", which I did. Now everything has changed and I am not sure whether I like it.
Is it possible to get back to how I was before - i.e. before I went into Active Standby Modes ?

No unfortunately the only way of doing this will be from the app shortcuts. There is to my knowledge no way of doing this automatically. Might be there is an ext. developed app that I do not know of.

HT202124 Is plug in a USB wireless receiver (Logitech Unifying Receiver) prevents Macbook Pro Retina going to standby mode?

As the title implies, is this prevent Macbook Pro Retina (Mid 2014) from going to standby mode? It's not convenience to unplug the wireless receiver every time I don't use the notebook though.

That kind of panic can be caused by an adapter for an external display that isn't connected to anything. See this thread.
There are also reports that the panic may be triggered by waking an external display from sleep. To test that theory, open the Energy Saver preference pane and click the lock icon to unlock the settings, if necessary. Move the Display sleep slider all the way to the Never position on the right. See whether there's any change.

X1 Display Times

This is to try to help others who like me ran into incorrect display times after upgrading to X1. Reading other threads, this sounds like a common problem, and the solutions I found are incomplete. The problem is: The time on the primary (DVR) box is correct, but the times displayed on the TV aren't. I got X1 service today and my guide times were off by 2 hours. Sorry Comcast, I'm in Mountain time, not Eastern. What you need to know is that if you have a primary (DVR) box and one or more companion (satellite) boxes, the boxes talk to each other. The time displayed on your satellite TV's is coming from the primary (DVD box). Don't try to reboot any of the satellite boxes to fix the time problem, it won't work. The real solution is to reboot the primary (DVR) box. This corrected the display times on all my TV's. Hope this helps others who run into this problem.

My new macbook pro retina randomly goes into standby mode

My new macbook pro retina randomly goes into standby mode. I have to close the screen and wait a few seconds and re-open it in order for it to come back on.
Sometimes it immediately goes back into standby mode again after closing and reopening the screen. I have checked the battery level everytime, and it has never been below 40% when this occurs. Is this a Mountain Lion issue?

Well I fixed my problem.
I took it into the Apple store. Even without the other two monitors they were able to recreate the problem. One symptom (I had) was that one of the Hot Corners was set to Disable screen saver. If you then put your cursor there, you'd go into screen saver mode. Change the setting to another corner and the problem follows you there.
The Apple person at the Genius bar logged out as me and back in as test and same problem. He tried some stuff and finally said I needed to wipe the drive and reinstall the OS (Lion). I'd only had the machine for 12 hours and had just migrated my data to it, so I didn't mind doing that. I did it at home.
Problem solved.
BUT... then I reinstalled the driver for my EVGA UV Plus 19 (most current drivers) and bingo problem back. Uninstall. Problem gone. I'm now using mini display port to DVI for one monitor and HDMI for the other I think the machine is a bit warmer this way (versus using a USB to the EVGA device) but at least it's not sleeping all the time. Someone might say "it (the heat) is your imagination" or something else. Or someone might say "use the other thunderbolt port for another mini-display port to DVI" but I need that for the LAN... c'est la vie.
Maybe I'll write to evga and see what they say. Maybe they'll fix their driver and/or Apple will fix it.

We had something similar with our SP2013 and IE8 32-bit. It seems that IE8 was in Compatible mode which make it IE7, which is unsupported by SP2013 due to HTML5.
Issue : List view especially datasheet view which has been moved from ActiveX to HTML5 had very slow response on SP2013 and IE8 32-bit.
Resolution : Try Chrome and see if its CSS/Masterpage or SP2013 issues performance issue.
We deployed masterpage and css which was used in our SP2007 site with minor changes, but later we figured out that we need to make major changes in order to work with IE8 and SP2013.
Try Indexing Columns.
check how many look up columns are used.

IPhone 5 battery draining after iOS 6.0.2 update even on standby mode without wifi/ 3G at all.

My newly bought iPhone 5 was on iOS 6.0.1
everything worked fine and i had no wifi nor battery issues at all until I upgraded it to iOS 6.0.
i noticed some battery drainage even when i'm not using my phone at all it still drains 1-2% on standby mode with no wifi nor 3G at all in an hour,
If i use wifi it'll drain 4-5% in a few minutes time, more serious case when i use 3G, it's literally draining in EVERY SINGLE MINUTE.

No it's not "per design". It's not supposed to disconnect when locked/in sleep mode. The whole concept of having live notifications to work when your phone is locked is the standard for smartphones. Having this feature only accessable when pluging/charging the phone is rediculous and counter-productive. But it's good to know that I'm not the only one who has this issue. Samsung Smart TV Remote and Standby Mode

Hi All - A few months ago I got a Samsung Smart TV that came with a pretty nice remote. It really can control almost all aspects of the FiOS service, but there are a few commands I cannot figure out how to get it to send to the FiOS STB.
First off, when I power on the TV, the STB is still in Stanby mode. It asks for me to "Press Menu to Watch ...". I cannot figure out how to get the Samsung remote to send that command or to disable standby mode on the STB. There is no menu button on this remote that's not TV-specific.
Second, I can't figure out how to bring up the full guide using the remote. By pressing the "up" direction on the four-way button, I get some smaller version of a guide, but I would prefer to see the standard full screen guide.
Finally, is there a way to get to the On Demand and DVR menus using the Samsung remote?
Anway, that's the the scoop. Most other featuers (DVR, etc) work pretty well.
The remote I'm using is a RMCTPF1AP1 and the STB is running version 1.9.7 and build 19.45. It's a QIP7232.

I'm not sure if you are turning the STB off or if the idle timer is doing it.
No reason to turn the STB off as it doesn't save any energy.
So leaving it on would alleviate one issue.

Mute button doesn't work to put phone in standby mode, help??

I have a blackberry curve and the mute button will not work to put my phone in standby. It does work to mute a phone call, however. It has done this a couple of times, where it will work for awhile, and then stop working for awhile. I'm not sure if I have hit something to make it so I can't put it in standby mode. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Did you press and hold the mute button? It takes a long key press to work. Also do a Battery Pull:
1. Remove the battery while phone is turned on
2. Wait a few seconds before inserting it again
3. Allow the long boot up process to finish (takes a few minutes usually)

A battery pull reclaims memory lost during application usage and clears minor software errors that creep in over time. The blackberry runs an OS just like your PC runs windows and the battery pull is the equivalent of a reboot/restart on your computer.
