Nokia N9 TV-out doesn't work

My tv and projector doesn't recognise him at all. I tried to change settings in tv-out menu but it doesn't help. Both cable and phone are new, connectors are properly attached to phone and tv.

I just have connected my N9 to a Panasonic TV and it was working without problems using AV3/S (RGB) input channel from TV.
Did you choose the correct input channel?

The video out doesn't work properly any more on my G4 12inch powerbook. It had been working fine, but now it doesn't work properly with either of the mini-vga adapters that came with my powerbook. When using the mini-vga to composite/s-video, the image appears on the tv but there is no colour and the picture isn't stable at any resolution over 800 x 600.
When connecting to a monitor or projector using the mini-vga to VGA adapter, the image appears on the screen etc but the colour is completely wrong (everything is shades of green).
I can't think of anything that might be the problem, though I did upgrade from 10.3 to 10.4 and I'm wondering is this might be the problem??

Print-to-tape from in to out doesn't work

Hi everybody, I've a 1h45 project and I want to save a copy on a dv tape. I've to cut it in two part in order to print on 2 tapes.
My problem is that when I set "in to out" it doesn't work, despite of that, when I set "entire project" it works !!!

Try it using the Edit to Tape function. Set in and out points and "edit" it to the tape using a bit of black on the head of the tape so you can set an in point on the tape.

5.1 rear out doesn't work, but line out and front stereo does

I got my new HP Pavilion p6-2440el Desktop today, but when I tried to plug my 5.1 audo to it (the one with the 3 jacks) it turned out that the 5.1 audio doesn't work, and the Windows'es "playback devices" panel lists the "IDT High definition audio" as not plugged. Sticking any jack to the front or into the line out in the rear changes it to plugged, but obviously with the stereo sound only. I even tried to download the more recent audio driver (found it in google, 6.10.6486.0, the one I got from the Windows update had a lower version) but it's still the same. Any idea how I can fix it? Thanks.

Tecra 9100: Headphones out doesn't work

at my Tecra 9100, the Headphones connector doesn't work. The internal speaker do well. If i plug in headphones or external speakers, the internals are being switched off, but at the external devices i can't hear anything.
My soundcard generally works, i thought there could be a chance to fix this just by dis- and reconnection the wire/board from the front connectors to the sound board ... but i've never done any technichal stuff at a Tecra, so it would be nice if someone could give me some input how and where i would have to open it, and if this is even a chance to fix my problem.

According to your problem description I presume that Audio headphone port is defective. There is small switch that switch between internal and external speakers.
I have the same unit and it works well on my unit. I am afraid that you must contact service partner and check this mechanical connector.

Nokia's PC software doesn't work!

I'm having some serious issues with Nokia's PC connectivity software.
PC Suite first of all - for the most part is fine, but what I want the most - the Nokia Software Updater - won't work. I get one of two messages:-
'Configuration Error' - I've tried everything I've seen suggested on this and other sites, to no avail. Or I get a message saying one or more software components has stopped responding and I need to reboot my PC - I try this and still get one of these error messages.
So, I've uninstalled PC Suite, and used the PC Suite Cleanup tool to remove everything, I rebooted my PC and installed Ovi Suite. And what a load of trash that is.
Again, it's one of two error messages I get. I either get a very non-specific 'internal error' message , or I get the Windows 'Nokia Ovi Suite 2 has stopped working.......' message.
This sucks, big time. All I want to do is update my E71's firmware!
This better improve pretty damned quick, as I've just commited myself to another 18 months with another Nokia handset (against my better judgement) and my X6 arrives tomorrow.

Thanks for the replies people, but it's all a moot point now as the X6 I upgraded onto with my network provider decided to die on me after less than two days.
As a result, I've ditched the X6 and am getting a phone of a different make and model altogether, thanks in part to the understanding of 3 UK - there was no way I was taking a chance on another X6 when the first one died after such a short space of time.
I would say that I uninstalled PC Suite and used the cleanup utility before reinstalling Ovi Suite, and still found that it didn't work.
I may bear this all in mind as I still have my E71 in good working condition, but I fully intend for my new phone to be my primary handset with the E71 as a backup in case of any problems. I do have to say though that my experiences with Nokia's PC software has made me very frustrated, and the issue with the X6 has made matters worse. I don't think I'll get another Nokia handset in future, unless serious changes are made.
PC software which just works would be a good start. I wouldn't like to say how long I've spent trying to get it to work as it should, but it is a stupidly long time. I've never had this issue with the software supplied by Sony Ericsson or LG. Secondly, Symbian either needs to be improved or ditched - it's slow and buggy, and being left behind by much newer OS's, such as Android.

Mark Out Doesn't Work On Group

I have a group with lots of things inside it. When I press O to mark the out, nothing happens. Used to work in 2, now it doesn't.

Audio Out doesn't work for some devices under 9600m GT; works under 9400m

Hello. I've recently noticed that when I plug my MBP into my TV to use as a monitor and for speakers, I can't use the TV's audio when I'm using the 9600m GT for graphics, but, mysteriously, it works just fine when I'm on the 9400m. This is a major problem for when I want to play games.
For some odd reason, though, plugging in headphones works perfectly under both configurations. I connect the audio to the TV using a standard audio cable that splits into the red and white plugs. Any idea how I can get audio up and running under the 9600m GT?

- Tv's have analog audio input for hdmi, but at least for mine, it only uses these inputs if it does (or doesn't) get a certain signal for audio over the hdmi connection.
- Whatever the 9400 is doing, its convincing the tv to use the analog inputs, all is well.
- Whatever the 9600 is doing, its convincing the tv -not- to use the analog inputs, thus no sound.
It was a bit fiddly, but i got it to a state where audio through the headphone port would work fine under the 9400, i would set graphics to high performance, log out, log back in again, and audio would not work. Undoing this (setting the graphics to better battery life and relogging in) would restore sound.
I'm thinking the root of the issue is that the tv gets detected as supporting audio, and something the 9600 is doing is fooling the tv to think it is receiving audio, though as you suggested it's not supported and nothing is going though.. which has the side effect of igoring the analog inputs we're sending though the headphone jack.
Some sort of fix to disable audio down the displayport would be great. PC nvidia drivers that i'm running on the same mac in boot camp have an explicit option to do this, so it shouldn't be too hard..

Check In/Out doesn't work on network drive?

My company has used DW's check in/check out functionalities just fine for years, but before now the local copies of a site's files had been stored on each user's Mac's harddrive. I've been working on relocating those local copies to a single network drive that everyone can access so we're all working from the same local copies; most everything's going great except it looks like the check in/out functions are no longer working. It looks like the only indication I can see now in the FTP view is a green check on the remote files pane when something's checked out– the local copies don't show lock or check icons any longer.
Given that the only change has been moving the local files over to the network drive, I have to assume DW's check in/out (or at least however I have settings set now) doesn't play nice when the local files live on a network drive. Has anyone run into this issue, and is there a fix for it?

Yep, a new site definition's been set up and I've double-checked that the "local files" setting is pointing to the shared network server as the new local folder.

At first I didn't think that link had anything that I didn't already know, and then saw these two bullets:
• The local root folder for this defined site must be on the local hard drive of a workstation.
• Your local root folder should not be shared or on a mounted drive.
So in short, I suppose those answer my question, but they don't actually say *why* that is– it's hard to believe that the checking feature is limited to a literal local drive, and not a network drive. Seems odd. I'm going to poke around some more and try and figure out why that is, but I'd be grateful if anyone happens to know why in the meantime...

TV out doesn't work for some videofiles

I am using the GEforce 2 mx 400 64 mb
I have configured the driver as 'klone' .
Now i've got two outputs of the card at the same time; one to monitor, one to tv (with s-vhs cable)
It works fine,
except for playing videofiles (Mpeg, WMV etc, In mediaplayer 9.0) )
I can only view at the selected primary monitor the video.
I know for sure that ,in previous settings i've had two outputs at same time for this videofiles..
but how? can't find the option anymore..
(With AVI files, there is not this problem; I can view at Tv and monitor )

Pismo's TV Out doesn't work?

Hi again everyone,
Firstly, thanks to all who've helped me with my various problems with switching to Mac. My Pismo's an excellent computer, and after Christmas, my parents'll give me back my second machine so I can fix that up
However, I recently found that my Pismo's TV-Out port doesn't seem to work. I was using it on a TV in school to show a DVD and the TV output never even started working. I ended up using a projector.
The Pismo's TV-out is a seven-or-so-pin S-Video socket. I've tried it with an S-Video-to-composite (RCA?) adapter that came with my Gigabyte Radeon graphics card (one-piece yellow block that plugs straight into the port). I also used a short adapter cable of the same nature from my school, and still got no response from the TV-out port.
My Pismo runs Tiger, and the Displays section doesn't recognise there's a TV connected. OS9's the same - no sign of a TV Resolution option. I've tried dropping the resolution to more TV size with no luck. The VGA-Out port works perfectly, and the Displays menu gives me the option to adjust the external monitor's resolution independently of the Pismo's built-in screen. I was able to run the DVD this way using Display Mirroring, but for convenience and safety (I don't want to have to lug around a valuable projector if I do this again), I'd like to know if these symptoms mean the TV-out port's given up the ghost. I've never had the port working from day 1.
If the port is damaged/dead, I have the logic board from my other working Pismo that I can transplant into this machine (the lower case is a state so I'd move the logic board into this machine instead of the innards of this Pismo into the other). I don't mind a challenge, but I can't think I'm missing something with this machine.

Here are a couple of things to try in OS X. First of all you can't ever see the TV in the display preferences unless the TV is on. Second once the S-video port is connected to a TV that is turned on press the 'Detect Displays' button in the Displays Pref Pane. Then you should see the TV resolution choices - which max at 800x600. You can connect to a TV on the fly in OS X. System 9 is much more finicky and may require you to have the powered up TV plugged in at boot time in order to see it. I've done this plenty of times with S-video cables to my TV - I've not tried the adapter with the Pismo - but I have seen that type of adapter and it usually is trouble free.
