Nokia N9 UK Realease or Not?

Ihear today that the uk is getting the lumia 800 instead of the nokia n9, anyone know why?? if you like windows phone great, good for you personally i dont. ive had n-series phones for a lot of years now and i wouldnt entertain anything else. ive been patiantly waiting for it so im extremly dissapointed that we have to settle for this lumia 800. i hope its just a rumor but everything you read online seems to conflict with each other. does anyone know the facts? thanks

The N9 wont be sold in the UK by any official high street retailers, and the Lumia 800 will instead be sold. I hope this clears up any confusion.

I have a Nokia 6120 Classic and is not working fine. I have decided to change my mobile.
Before change my mobile I want to backup all my data and telephone numbers. The problem is that Accept button is not working correct. When I start my mobile I can enter pin number but after this I can't enter the date because I have to use Accept button (the one in the top left). Is there any possibility to skip entering date? I was going to take it to Nokia care but duh? Should the button stop working suddenly? Without anything wrong also the same with the camera button also I'm not the first one to have this problem right? Then its not our problem but its Nokia's I thought there's another solution, but yeah I'm making angry posts can you just make good products? I see all the people complaint about that button **bleep**, you better not talk while maybe the problem from th company.

yes i have one paid through the nose for it,you have the n82 i see from other post and you have ordered 6220c so which phone you want id stick with the 5800 or n82 i take it your nokia fan me to was not into all this touchscreen lark even when iphone came out and then all the others to follow,the 5800 has not many apps just yet but its rapidly moving up with that check here out for themes and apps and games

Nokia Mail - "Other" Account Setup Not Working

Help. Nokia Mail Other/Manual Setup Not Accessible.
A previously manually setup IMAP account got deleted from my C3-00.
It is an account that requires manual setup, but when I tried to set it up again under "Other" the Nokia Mail App will no longer let me. It had been working before and I inputted manual settings when it was previously set up.
Now under "Other" instead of going from the mail address and password screen to the manual setup (POP3/IMAP) screen it just says: "Could not sign in. Try again."
The email address is on the @mytyndale.ca and I need to input these settings manually:
IMAP setting: Server name: pod51011.outlook.com // Port: 993 // Encryption method: SSL
SMTP setting: Server name: pod51011.outlook.com // Port: 587 // Encryption method: TLS
Please help or fix this for me.
If there is a way to force manual setup that I am missing let me know about that.
NOTE: I was able to get the account setup by putting in an incorrect email address and then putting the correct login information in the manual setup set up sceeen. But Nokia Mail will not let my change my email address after the setup has been made.

SunshineBC, on your desktop computer, when you go for webmail.eastlink.ca, are you able to login with your password? (double-checks we are using the right credentials). Are you able to log-in via webmail.dccnet.com?
Now, let us double check the origin of your request (IP address outside of Canada). Please, try the same from within the Nokia browser of your phone because it does use a proxy based IP address. Does it work? If yes, please, try Opera Mini as well – because that useses yet another IP address. In all these browsers (yours on your desktop, in Nokia browser, and in Opera Mini), please, check your IP with my-ip.mobi. Please post your IPs and results (worked, did not work) and I check the location of that IPs if there is a did-not-work. Perhaps Eastlink has an outside filter in combination with some passwords – the procedures above checks that.

hi mate,
have you checked if there are any firmware updates available for your device? if there are any, please update to the latest version offered. if that fails, try reinstalling your current firmware thru Nokia Suite, and if that doesn't work, then Restore your phone to factory settings.

Please could you try to perform a soft reset on your device using the code *#7780# security code 12345 by default if prompted. It is best to create a back up on nokia suite before performing the soft reset, you will not lose any data however it will reset your device settings to factory conditions.
If it is still not working, please try and remove all your profiles from your social app, restart your device and re-sync them.
Let us know how you get on and feel free to post any other questions you may have.

Why still nokia lumia black update is not yet avai...

Nokia has announced the GDR3 update for all of its windows 8 phones but still lumia 620 update availability shows waiting for approval. Lumia 620 has better specs than 520 but lumia 520 got the update ahead of 720 and 620. What may be the reason for this delay!!!?

If they tell you the reason is there something you can do about it? You will eventually still need to wait regardless of what the reason for the delay is. asking repeatedly about the availability will not expedite the release.

no solution unfortunately, however you may be able to try your luck with the WebApps app from the Store, and then search for your particular mobile banking website within that app.
and no, it is not Nokia that is not implementing support for Java, it is part of the Microsoft Windows Phone 8 operating system. if you wish to leave feedback with them, you can do so over at http://windowsphone.uservoice.com

Nokia Messaging: Sent emails are not saved on the ...

I use Nokia messaging (the latest -13 version) on a Nokia 5800. The server is a Imap server, not one of the automatically detected email providers. Sending and receiving of messages works. Unfortunately the messages are only saved locally on my phone, not on the server. How can I change that? How to I specifiy in which folder the messages are to be saved?

If you have performed a sync with the device since you restored this old backup, then don't bother looking for another backup. iTunes writes over the last backup each time you sync. If you were handling contacts in iCloud, you would find them by logging into iCloud. Or you can check settings and iCloud and see if the button it on for Contacts. Otherwise it might have been on the computer, if you had a program that syncs with iTunes and handles contacts, depending on the computer system you use. If Windows, it would be Windows Contacts or Outlook. If a Mac, there is a Mac Address book as well.

Nokia Charging Stand NFC does not work on 920

I just received my Nokia Charging Stand DT-910 to go with my ATT Nokia 920.
1) I ordered the black stand. The stand and proprietary cord are black, but that huge AC charger is actually white. I can't believe that they didn't match the color on such an expensive accessory.
2) The actual NFC functionality does not work for me on the 920. Yes, when I tap the 920 to the base of the stand, I correctly get the NFC popup, and when I accept it takes me to what is obviously the Nokia software. The screen is titled "Charging Stand", and it starts on the Set Up page. It shows a diagram of the charging stand. The problem is that this app hangs. The progress dots on the top of the screen never stop moving. And the list where I am supposed to choose the application to open stays greyed out and never responds. It just continues hung like this forever, or on one occasion the phone rebooted itself.
Is there a fix for this? The software hang is making my stand useless in terms of it's NFC functionality....

You can actually get to more support options from that link, like here, http://www.nokia.com/us-en/support/contact/ which offers chat and phone numbers. Not sure what could happen in this case though, as there just seems to be some issues in the NFC implementation. Seems it varies a bit between devices, but overall has some issues. I would guess the number of folks with a wireless charge capability, that also know about this forum is probably small, but I'm sure the issue will gain some visibility as more folks give it a try. As I said I got it past the streaming dots and selected an app to launch, but now I have the interminably slow app launch. The same app that springs up instantaneously from the start or program menu, takes 5-10 minutes to launch when initiated via the NFC tap. I've just turned this off for now, as I expect some software update at some point. I have done some other NFC stuff with marginal success. Tapping the charging base to start an app is not a make or break feature for me. If it is for you, contact Nokia directly, rather than through this user forum.

Hi,
I noticed from FAQs the following tip:
If you have this problem after software update, format memory card in your device. Refer to your device user guide for instructions. Following this your music need to be resynchronised from your PC back to your device using the Nokia Music Player -application.
I guess you could just remove the non-working music files from the device and re-download those from Nokia Music Player your account/purchased music section. Maybe it would be best to try this first with just one song :-)
