Nokia N91 phone memory problem

I have owned this Nokia N91 for a year and 9 months. Phone memory is a problem as i cannot recieve any messages. The message, not enough memory to recieve message(s), delete some data. I have taken absolutely everything off the phone memory except messages, contacts, and calender data, yet i still have something taking up 14 of my 15MB's of memory. What can i do as i can't recieve any messages. I have tried allocating messaging memory to the hard drive but i am presented with the same problem. Please help as i need to keep this phone working till May.

I have a Nokia Asha 206. Recently I updated it. After the update now out shows phone memory full all the time though I don't have any file in phone memory accept those which I could not delete. Please tell me how to solve this problem cause even if anyone sends me text msg it does not come to my phone cause memory is full. Even I can't send any msg. Everytime I try to send or receive something it showed memory full.i have external memory having 700mb free space but only 37kb internal free space.

Hi, wasimul. Welcome to our community. We suggest deleting some of your files like photos, videos, and text messages that you no longer need. You can also save your contacts directly to the memory card to avoid such issue. Another option is to reset it to its original settings. Here's how: Restore factory settings. The link is still applicable regardless of your location. We look forward to your reply.

    Hi all,
As it ays in the subject, I own a nokia N91 handset and i'm having problems accessing SIP Settings.
Basically when I click on SIP Settings, and view SIP providers. I cannot delete, edit, or add any settings at all! When I do select (for example), options - delete - delete confirmation (yes) The SIP profile doesn't delete.
I have done a full factory reset on the phone (*#7370#), but still no luck

  • Nokia 5230 phone memory issue

Even after I clear all privacy from my web settings I still have low phone memory! Everything I download is saved 2 my memory card but no matter wot my phone memory status says:
    Memory in use - 77mb
    Free memory - 5192kb
    Calendar - 5kb
    Contacts - 36kb
    Messages - 0
    Images - 0
    Sound files - 0
    Video clips - 0
    Documents - 31kb
    MIDP apps - 0
    SIS apps - 28mb
    Other files - 49mb
What are those "Other files" & can they be deleted? As well as SIS apps, are the apps that can be uninstalled that wont affect my nokia's performance?
Can someone please help me with my problem?

Is Mail being pushed to your device?
Although it would be a pain necessitating backup of essential data first, you could always reset device to "Out of box" state by keying in *#7370# followed by 12345 (default Nokia lock code unless altered by user).

  • Nokia 5800 - phone memory always full

got my phone yesterday from prepay mania, i hav an 8gb memory card in it btw, whenever i go to the menu i get messages saying c: phone memory full, please delete some data. sometimes it doesnt let me access particular features such as "settings" and even returns me to my home screen
my question was how do i move all my future downloads and all the stuff on my phone memory to my memory card, so i wont get these messages coming up all the time

if you have installed applications, uninstall them and reinstall them but this time choose the memory card as your main destination (the application should ask where do you want to install it). Also, if you have configured an email account, make sure you choose the memory card to store your emails (go to the messaging/email application, select options - settings - other and where it says memory in use select E: Memory Card (instead of phone memory). Finally, if you have been using the Web application, go to options - clear privacy data (select cache and cookies).
If none of these options solve your problem, then do a hard reset (after backing up the phone, of course)
    Hope it helps..

  • Nokia (N8) phone memory : best practices / guide t...

    Hi,
I'd like to know what are the best practices to manage space / memory on my phone.
On the N8 user guide, it is simply written : "If possible, install applications to the mass
memory or memory card, rather than the device memory." (p.112) And that's all !
If I understood well there are 3 types of memory on N8 :
    256 Mo RAM
    512 Mo ROM (Phone memory, C: )
    16 Go storage (Mass memory, E: )
[and also 32GB expendable memory SDHC card 4x minimum]
Since I bought my N8, I installed everything (apps and multimedia files) on E: (mass memory)
    Today I have on :
C: Phone memory : 158 Mo free space over 254,4 Mo
    E: Mass memory : 732,1 Mo / 14,3 Go (with 12,3 Go of MP3 files)
I am using a software called Netqin Mobile Guard for S^3 (which by the way I like a lot, especially the "prompt for connection" and the "web usage manager" functions) and it tells me that I have "insufficient memory on disk E:"
So here are my questions :
1 - Is it true that 732 Mo free on disk E: is not enough ?
2 - Why is better to install everything on mass memory if there is 256 Mo RAM and free space on phone memory ?
3 - If I use a SDHC card to free some space on E: (move all my MP3 files), will it consumes more battery power?
I spent some time looking for answers on internet but I didn't find any to these questions... Any help would be much appreciated. Also if you have any advice on RAM optimisation, I'd take it ! My way to optimise it is to close all apps I'm not using from the app manager. Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post, but I think it would be helpful for a lot of people!
    Regards

Question 1.> 732MB is what is left on the internal mass memory. NetQin is just warning you that you do not have much storage left if you want to add more files. The " insufficient memory on disk E " is just an over dramatic warning in my opinion.
--> this is also what I thought but as I wrote in my previous answer, I'd like to be sure my phone is not going to crash if my data reach 99% of E: capacity
Question 2. > It is better to leave as much free memory as possible on the C drive to give the phone better performance. The less memory their is on C the slower the phone becomes.
--> that's what I understood from what I've read but does it mean that "C: memory" is used more or less as additional RAM memory? Or is it just (as you say about Netqin app.) an "over dramatic warning" from Nokia to prevent users from reaching full capacity and then crashing the phone?
Question 3. > I'm not sure by adding an SD card would consume any significant amount of extra power. Unless you are permanently accessing the SD card. It wont consume extra power when the phone is idle.
--> then I may need to buy a SD card to  store all my MP3s and let everything else on the mass memory. I asked this question 'cause I remember having noticed using a palm with a sd card (I know this is old stuff) that it impacted the battery.
It would be nice to have official statements from Nokia on these topics, don't you think?
    Thanks anyway for your answers!

  • PLEASE HELP! N95 phone memory problem

    Hi
I have a N95 8GB which is now about 2 years old.  The phone itself works fine, well, that was until yesterday morning.
It hasnt been recently dropped, there is no logical reason i can see, but the phone has lost its mind.
It's been telling me since yesterday morning that there is no phone memory left.  So I completely wiped all my music, videos, pictures, messages etc.  To no avail, it's still telling me there is no phone memory.
I went to delete a contact, which are actually saved on my sim card, and it told me there wasnt enough memory to do this.
I've restored factory settings, no joy.
It also keeps popping up with "carousel already in use".
I can't now receive txts either because it tells me not enough memory to read.
Am I going to have to get a new phone on my inusrance, or is this a problem I can sort with your help?
    thanks in advance

Go to Menu>Tools>File Manager>Options>Memory details, this will give you a run-down of how much phone memory is free and how much is used, then a breakdown of where the memory is being used. Your phone memory is about 140Mb in total (don't confuse this with the 8Gb - that's just "Mass memory" for storage of data like music, video and pictures plus it is possible to install some apps in there. The phone memory is used for processing as well as sotrage, which is why you get these errors if too much is used.
In the breakdown, you'll see the following items:
    - Calendar: this should only be a few Kb, perhaps a few hundred Kb if you use the feature often, but not too much
    - Contacts: should also be measured in Kb, even if many of your contacts have images
    - Messages: should be measured in Kb, if it goes into Mb or worse still Gb then you have Bluetooth of MMS messages hogging space - save the attachments to mass memory and delete the messages.
    - Images, videos and soundclips should not be large - perhaps a small number of ringtones, images that you use as backgrounds etc. but the bulk of these media files are best moved to mass memory.
    - Documents should be tiny, keep documents in mass memory.
    - MIDP (Java) apps and SIS (Symbian) apps could be filling space, you might be able uninstall some of these and reinstall them to mass memory if needs be, but be aware that some apps must be in phone memory and that some of the space taken by SIS apps will be preinstalled stuff that you can't move.
If none of the above can explain the memory full erros and you do seem to have a large amount of Mb free, then it could be a software issue that can be solved by reformatting the phone with the code *#7370# - make sure that you use PC Suite Content Copier to backup important data first, and after the reformat when you restore the backed-up data, don't include settings in the restoration and also leave out any data types that you know you don' use.

  • Nokia E60 phone memory corruption?!

My beloved E60 is finally giving signs of hard everyday use. I had it for about 2 years and its looks like there might be a corruption with the phone (not the memory card) memory. This is the internal 64MB. All my contacts are saved on the phone memory, as I make use of multiple entries for one contact. I do have a 1 GB MMC card, which tends to work, but don't use it to store anything on. Why do I think the phone memory is corrupt?
Well, I had the following which in my opinion points to corruption:
    - unable to save contacts occasionally, says memory is full (even when there should eb a few MB's left)
    - some contacts from my address book, don't show any name, just the number, when they call me
    - doing a Backup with PC Synch, works, but oepning the nbu file, appears to be incomplete
    - the Contacts when loaded in PC Synch, do not all have phone numbers, despite having a number on the phone entry
    -  the MMC card sometimes says its corrupted, however, when ejecting it and then re-inserting it then seems fine
I am running it with the latest firmware (3.0633.09.04). Its not under warranty any longer and I am happy to do a full reset, if only I could be sure that the backups I have (using the Create a Backup to Memory card) would work. Quite scared to trust it, as there are just too many contacts in the phone (numbers, addresses, email, fax etc).
If anyone has any thoughts on how to get this sorted, please post here - getting a bit desperate.
    Thanks

The only thing I can suggest you do if your phone memory is truly corrupted is to reformat the phone. You can do this by using the *#7370# code. Please remember to backup your phone before attempting it. I would do 2 backups, one with eveything and one without the phone specific settings. The reformat will wipe out all your data. You will need the backup to restore your data back to the phone afterwards. You may also need to reinstall some of the applications you installed.

  • Nokia N73 Phone memory full.

    Hi,
I am using the N73. When ever i receive message or try to save contacts it shows a message -"Memory Full please delete some data". I deleted all data from Memory card, but when i check Phone Memory it shows 44MB in use. How do i clean my Phone memory?
    Please help.

memory maybe distributed between different categories that you may not of, not only user files. first of all check the memory distribution by checking the : menu > tools > memory manager > options > memory details.
if you have alot of messages stored on the phone memory , try to delete some, especially the ones that have attachments or you have recieved through bluetooth.
if you have applications or themes installed on the phone memory , remove these and reinstall on the memory card.

  • Free phone memory problem

i have a problem with my nokia 305 with freeing space at the expense when there is nothing to delete on phone

Plug your phone in to your PC and open BlackBerry Desktop Software.  Once your phone has connected to it, click Device at the top of the software then Restore.  A list of previous data backups will appear.  Simply choose the second-most recent one (because the most recent one should be the one you're currently running on your phone) and load it.  If you ever decide you wish to revert back to your current version of OS, simply follow those steps but pick the backup file at the very top of the list.
Please post back with your results.
    - If my response has helped you, please click "Options" beside my post and mark it as solved. Clicking the "thumbs up" icon near the bottom of my response would also be appreciated.

    HI
I think the 1st step in considering the replies above  for my low memory for my Nokia 208 is for someone to tell me if what applications that are preinstalled in Nokia 208 that are causing my low memory problems. Also tell me if the only solution is a memory card or connection to a pc to transfer applications/files.
    Thanks in advance
Most of the phone memory problems on the Asha or S40 platform can be rectified by clearing the cache of the main browser and deleting some messages, but since it appears you have already done that, try to update your phone or perform a complete reinstallation of the phone's software. First you have to make a backup of the contents stored in your phone - especially the contacts.
You can back up your phone memory to a compatible memory card. To do that, follow the steps below.
    1. Select Menu > Settings > Sync & backup.
    2. Select Create backup.
    3. Select what you want to back up, then press Done.
    Restore a backup
Select Restore backup and what you want to restore, then press Done.
After you made the backup, try to update your phone to the latest software available - instructions can be found here at http://www.nokia.com/global/support/software-update/asha-software-update or use the Nokia Software Recovery Tool for a complete fresh installation of the phone software.
    Good luck

  • Can't move all contacts from phone memory to sim i...

Please i need help. I can't move all contacts from my Nokia 6600 phone memory to SIM or from SIM to phone memory at a time like i used to do with my former Nokia 6810. Does anybody know how to do this?
    Thanks.
    Darry.

    hmmmm....*strokes beard*
I'm assuming you want to transfer all your contacts between sim and phone memory all at once.
to do this, go to contacts on your phone then select "options", then select "Mark\Unmark". You then get a little side menu. in this side menu select "Mark All". all you phone contact should now have ticks next to them. Now Press "Options" again and now you should have the option to "Copy to sim Directory". and from sim to phone do this in reverse.
    Peace out

  • N81 8GB Phone memory is not available !!!

I am using N81 8GB. So far I know brand new N81 8GB has 16MB of free internal memory and somewhat 8GB of free external memory (where internal memory in the phone memory and external memory is the memory card.
Last three months it was asking me “Phone Memory” is out of space whereas I used only 2GB out of 8GB mass memory.  I installed everything in Mass memories. Recently it was asking me , Phone memory is not available. I used “OVI suite” with  cable and found 24MB already used 0(zero) space available. Then I deleted all programme, music, video and  and others from “Mass memory”  and formatted it. Even deleted everything except default program. Then I flashed the Mobile from OVI update suite. Version has changed but found 21MB is occupied out of 24MB. Now tell me what’s the solution to free the spaces?
I can’t receive more than 3 or 4 music (small) files via Bluetooth. It asks me to free the inbox space. So far I had total 10 text message (SMS) in inbox. Why it should ask me whereas I have enough memory( 6GB) in “Mass Memory” ?
    Is there any solution?

  • Nokia n91 problems

i am having so many problems with my nokia n91, it is unbelievable.
. i cant connect to wifi, i have found an open source, set, access points, cant connect. (spoke to numorous techs at nokia, they all say its all correct).
. music screen keeps freezing, unable to get access.
. cant play music through mp3 scroll at front of phone (changed equalizer settings) twice, each time cant use scroll after.
(as equalizer settings are in music, i cant access, as screen freezes)
. same as above with earphone control
(whats the point of having settings if they mess your phone up?
. sometimes phone cant find music, i have to play, each one individually, or press repeat all to play them, very annoying when you have to do it regular.
    . standby screen freezes regular.
. i have one mp3 song, set for all contacts, some contacts have a different ring tone when they call, i have checked all my contacts and settings, they all show as using the same mp3.
. when my battery runs out, the screen saver disappears and the origanal screen comes back on phone, it is very annoying, having to keep changing my screen saver back.
is this phone dodgy or what.
i am going to visit my local nokia support centre next week, but if anyone can help me in the mean time, i would be very gratefull.

What programs have you installed?, are they installed in the phone memory or the HDD?
How much memory do you have free in the phone memory?
What applications do you have running when this happens?, Long press of the Menu key (right hand side key) will show the open applications scroll with the joystick to see them.
It's very easy to blame the device, but sometimes it's something we do that causes the device to miss behave. I've experienced some problems with some of the applications that have been poping out for S60 Rel 3.0. It got so bad I had to re-format everything.
Now the phone is working correctly again. I didn't install anything. Just added music, pictures and videos, and everything works fine.
