Nokia N95-2 Video making and movies watching probl...

Hi all..My problem is , that when I'am making a video, it freeze for 1 or 2 sec...then recording further, then freeze again, then recording further...and so on so on...don't know what's going on...
and the second problem is that while i'am trying to watch a movie, every time the pictures freezes aprox. at 33 minute of playing, and further I can hear only sound, picture doesn't go further...and this situation repeats in every movie I'am watching..???
whats wrong...

Really, you do all know it's ENTIRELY down to product placement - ie: paid for advertising - rather than any "cool" factor, don't you?
I just can't believe there are intelligent people out there who still don't know that. I mean: why would a high profile pop star or the producer of a multi-million dollar movie feature a (usually entirely irrelevant) piece of technology in their product for free when they could get hundreds of thousands of dollars to do it?
It's not even like it's subtle anymore: have you seen how much product placement Apple have bought in Californication? Every other scene has someone using a powerbook or an iPod or at least talking about it.
Favourite line from the last one I saw: "Do you know (some **bleep**py album)? I'll gift it to you on your iPod."

Nokia N95 8gb video problem

Hi!I have a Nokia N95 8gb with all the lastest updates,but i also have a problem watching videos.All the vidoes i play stop at 35 minutes,the image freeze but the sound goes on.Not for one or two,but for all videos longer then 35 min.Do u have any idea how i can correct this? Thanks!

I have the same problem with the 1gb model, I have 500+MB free and it still locks up at about 35-36 mins. I have tryed several different files, uploaded in mp4 format. The sound continues and the picture freezes? Help???

Nokia N95 8GB Album Art and Album Folders Issue

I have been hunting for for a resolution for two issues with the N95 8GB Media Player all over the web.
1. Adding artwork (CD Covers) to audio tracks (or albums) seems to be at best hit and miss. Most of the time it just does not work.
2. Deleting an album delete all the tracks but deleting the album folder seems almost impossible.
Well this weekend I decided to try to solve this and I think I may have hit upon a solution.
Since so may people have the same problem I thought it worth repeating. I would stress this has not been exhaustively tested but it does work reliably so far.
I am using Nokia Music Manager 2.0. The fix is simply to convert the files to AAC rather than to M4A (which is the default). After this simple change everythig worked find for me. I can add and delete albums from Nokia Music Manager 2.0 (don't forget to refresh on the phone afterwards) AND reliably add Album Artwork.
So here is how I have been working.
1. Set the conversion format to AAC. I have been using 'Ultra high' quality setting. Options Menu >> Setting >> Conversion Tab.
2. Next put in a CD, select all the tracks and choose copy to my collection.
3. While this is going on I find the artwork on the Web. A simple Google Image search with the album title and artists last name / band name seems pretty 100% to get the on the first page. Download image to My Documents / My Pictures.
4. Once the CD Rip is complete they will all appear in My Collection. I select all the tracks in my collection for the album in question, and then right click on one of them and select Edit.
5. I then attach the Album Artwork by clicking on the blue folder and choosing it from my, MY Pictures folder.
6. Finally select Copy to Phone from the File Menu.
This has worked for me so far 100% and I have done 20 or so albums.
NOTES:
To get Nokia Music Manager 2.0 I uninstalled the version of Nokia Phone Suite that came with my phone and went to

I chose the N95 8GB downloaded and installed. At some point shortly after install Phone Suite informed me that there were updates available and Nokia Music Manager 2.0 was one of these.
I was originaly using this and suffered all the problems you guys have. After searching the web and finding no solution I decided to do some experimenting.
Hope all this helps.
PS If you need to delete all your legacy album folders, this is the fix I found on this same site. You can do this at any time.
1. Enable the option to be able to see Hidden Files and Folders in your Windows Explorer.
2. Connect your n95 8gb to your computer and choose data transfer mode.
3. Go to My COmputer >> Nokia Phone Browser >> Nokia N95 8GB >> Memory Card E:
3. If you have selected Show Hidden Files and Folders (see 1) you should see a folder called Private.
4. In the Private folder you need to delete the contednts of three folders
\private\101FFC31 (mpxv1.mpd and pcv5.mpd)
\private\101f8857\Cache
\private\101ffca9
In all the 3 folders delete all the files Not the FOLDER
Next time you restart the music player it will rebuild the indexes without the deleted albums folders.
Hope this helps someone. It restored my sanity.

Album Art
Basically there are two methods
Method 1.
You do it on the phone. Load the album art pictures to the memory card. (Must be JPEG NOT BMP)
Load also the music files.
Open Music application in the phone. Open an album then select Options->Album art then Options-> Add, browse for the picture and select Ok.
Repeat for each ALBUM
Method 2.
You do it on the PC.
Get a Tag editing software like Tag&Rename, WINAMP, etc.
Edit the files Metadata to include Album Art picutres (again they should be jpeg and also they should be set as Cover Front).
Transfer the files that have Album Art using File transfer (usb mass storage) don't use MTP or PC Suite as these methods may convert the files and Album Art will be lost.
Or you can continue using your Method

the s60 3rd platform unfortunately has this bug, it is present in most if not all series devices and beyond. so far there has been no fix for it, tho it has been present for sometime. i believe that 6630 runs on the s60 2nd

Is there a way to place the videos that i have converted with the videora program into the video section and not the movie section on my 30g video ipod? Or if not can I make a movie playlist?

HELP!! Nokia N95 restarting !! and more!!

im now on my 3rd Nokia N95 from the 02 network
the first 2 handsets had high pitch whining noise and awful sliders which were wobbling on the right hand side, appaulling workmanship, i dont even know how they were allowed to leave the Nokia Factory like this!
maybe the workers were all drunk or something?
it isnt only me thats complained of these faults, check all the other forums about the N95!
anyway, my 3rd handset has been working ok
(or so i thought)
everything was working fine, no wobbly slider, no whiny noise..
but about 3 - 4 times per day as of 3 days ago, the phone just restarts itself when its just sat there!!!
WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING ?
have i now got to sent this **bleep** handset back aswell?
i dont want to drive 20 miles to nearest Nokia Service Centre, WHY should i ????
i also left my house this morning at 5.30am to take a friend to the Airport, the phone was unplugged from the Charger with full battery life, i used sat nav to get there and back, its now 9.35am and i have 2 bars left on te battery life!!
truly appauling if you ask me
will new firmware sort the resarting and battery life?
or do i have to just give up on this handset and buy another model by another Manufacturer?
im at my wits end with these N95`s

That's a typical problem for a newly released N-series. Unfortunately, this is only likely to be fixed by a firmware upgrade. Check you have the latest version. If you do: you're fresh out of luck .. for a while.

That's no surprise at all: when you use the GPS the phone is working all the time. It's kinda like you made a 4 hour (or however long the trips were) phone call. The surprise is that you have any battery left at all!
When I use my N80 for navigation, I usually have either the phone or the GPS receiver on charge virtually all the time.
It's probably no consolation right now, but most of us who bought phones soon after their release have gone through very similar teething problems and we know how hideously frustrating they are. The good news is that if you do hold out, the 2nd or 3rd firmware release normally fixes the worst of the problems and you do finally get that awesome phone you thought you'd bought.

Nokia n95 maps licence problem and gps not working

hi i have n95 and i formated it all and it's mass memory, now when i open maps i don't find my license, also i can't update it, i can't dowload maps for my phone, so i can't navigate without internet, also gps lock not working
and when i use pc suite to downlad maps like before it don't work it send me to lumia here maps that it dont on my n95 8gb because nokia abandoned the best symbian and used the bad lumia, so they delete symbian so users change to lumia, and i say no

Now, you have old cities/qf on your phone because you started with Maps 2.0 which used incompatible map data. Please, on your phone delete the folder cities and the file qf. These are in the at the start (root directory) of your storage. Then on your phone, open Maps and browse a bit around. That re-creates cities/qf. Now try the Nokia Suite again. Does it show the countries? Good. Now it should work. If not, please, report.

Nokia N95 8GB Software Installation and Uninstalat...

Every time I start my Nokia N95 8GB ,It scans memory and takes too long then tells "untrusted software found in mass memory and install from application manager" but when ever I check the application manager I found all software are installed, some more ,I suspect some java programs show as installed ,and try to remove it,but "removing failed" . How to over come this.
My main question is how to find the corrupted or not properly installed software files on the memory and remove them ,I tried to search using Xplorer and active file. canot done.

Video component and mov's

I am trying to insert a looping movie into flash using the video component. All seems fine i get the video in with no problems and used actionscript to loop the file but when i publish the file it seems to play it like it is on fast forward and occasionally plays it at the correct speed before doing its own thing again!
Does anyone know if it doesnt like mov files? I have compressed in h.264 and jpeg 2000 to no avail! I am new to this flash and video so maybe i am doing something wrong? I need the video file to be very small (under 100kb for an advert). the original file is 700kb, I used QT pro to reduce it to 88kb and it plays fine until i throw it in flash. I also tried it in flv and avi format using adobe encoder but it whacks the file up to 700kb again!
Any ideas? Help asap would be good with ad deadline today!

iPhoto doesn't really have the means to get movies into an iTunes format. iMovie 8, on the other hand, does have this ability.

Free video converters and movies

I have read so many of these and am just confused! I am looking for something to copy my DVD movies to my ipod. When I Have done it in the past the whole movie doesn't transfer.
Can someone help me find simple free programs that will copy my movies to my Ipod. There is something about the security options too...

Your problem is that your doing this wrong. You should not use DVDFab Decrypter and Videora together. DVDFab will rip the entire DVD. You need to use DVD Decrypter and rip it the DVD so that you will have one .vob file to use with Videora.
Download and install this one.

-To set up click on 'mode' on the toolbar
-Then click on 'IFO'
-Then click on 'Tools>Settings>IFO Mode' tab
-Under 'Options' set 'File Splitting' to 'NONE' & click 'ok' to close.
-Next, click the Stream tab, and check the Enable Stream Processing box.
-Check the 1st box for video & the 2nd one for the audio (make sure it's english) and uncheck all the other boxes.
-Next, set your Destination by clicking on the folder icon, and choose the DVD Files folder on your desktop. If you don't have one then make one so that you will know where the files are when done.
-Then click the green arrow to begin the process.
When done you can convert the file using Videora since you will have one .vob file to convert.

I have 2 computers and want the same songs,video's and movies on both

I just bought a new mini netbook and want to copy all songs onto the netbook so it mirrors my main desk top computer. I tried the home share, but the library disappears from the net book when I disconnect from my home network.

That's how it works - you can only share when connected to your home network.
If you want the files on your netbook, you can copy them to the netbook's hard drive. Use the import button when you ARE connected to the network.
A note about copying over the videos - many netbooks don't meet the minimum itunes specs to play videos, so there might not be any point in copying those over.

I have a lot of trouble displaying video stills and movies. a lot of the time they will not appear at all.
