Nokia N95 8GO data or memory recovery help!!! Plea...

Hi I currently had a Nokia N95 8GO mobile but have dropped it and pretty much the outside has been broken to pieces although the internal hardware etc looks like it hasnt been too affected by unfortunate accident.
It wont turn on but am wondering whether there is a way in trying to recover my photos!! (very important) from the internal memory using the motherboard which as mentioned is in still good condition.
If anyone can help or provide any information or assistance it will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

It depends on how much the photos are worth to you. There are companies that specialise in data recovery but it will probably cost you quite a bit. Google data recovery to find one nearest you.

  • Nokia n95 8gb moisture in camera lens - HELP

Hi, I have Nokia n95 8gb and while have been in a shower I have left it in the bathroom and now my lenses are moistured/water from inside of camera/lens. How can I fix/dry this?
    PLEASEEE HELP ME.

Many people take the phone into the bathroom whilst taking a bath or shower not realising this actually harms your phone!
Steam has entered the phone and turned to condensation and this is never good for an electrical product.
This will probably cause you many problems sooner or later, but for now remove the battery as having the battery in the phone whilst it is still wet is damaging your phone with current from the battery surging through all those components joint together inside with water.
Then put the phone in a warm dry place, where you have your boiler for your home as an example, and leave it there for a few days.
This should dry out any liquid there is inside the phone but only time will tell of the amount of damage has occured.
My posts are my opinion and in no way the direct views of Nokia.

when i dont touch phone, its just typing (*) by itself...
i though it was virus or something,so i first restarted it to factory settings, but it didnt worked.
i even formated it with (Green,* and 3) buttons but it didnt helped.
so the point is,i cant make calls, becouse its typing (*) by itself, and i can do nothing...
Also the problem is,that there is no nokia center in Bosnia and Herzegovina, sto i dont know what to do....
    Any reply will help.
    Thanks in advance...

unfotunately it looks like a physical problem, and the only solution would be care point, I would suggest contacting Nokia direct, and possibly posting the handset to the closeset repair centre.

  • Nokia N95 8GB data counter accuracy + T-Mobile (UK...

    Hi.
I have the 10GB per month web 'n' walk max package.
I use the Nokia N95 8GB as a modem for my computer as I do not have a land line.
I reset the Nokia's data counter (uploaded and downloaded totals) on the 1st of each month.
Since T-Mobile changed the service about 3 months ago I receive text warnings when I reach 80% of the fair use policy (i.e. 8GB) and a text if I hit 100% (i.e. 10GB). If I hit 10GB I am told that I will still be able to surf but not download at peak times.
There seems to be a big difference between what T-Mobile claim I have used and what the phone's counter shows. This month, for example, I have received the 80% warning but my phone only shows a total (up & down) of 6.3GB, 1.7GB difference.... quite large I feel! Last month I received a text telling me i had hit 100% but my phone only counted 8GB total.
When I contacted tech support they checked the system and came up with different figures. The 1st system which I believe is the same one customers can access by logging into t-mobile.co.uk and downloading the unbilled data usage figures gave about 8.7GB total. This system until very recently used to crash if you attempted to download the internet usage and had used a few gigs of data... useful. The support person then checked a second system which gave a total of 9GB. However these two different systems are not the ones that generate the warnings and also the cut-off (or rather reduced surfing restriction) texts. So T-Mobile have at least 3 systems.
So I have some obvious issues. T-Mobile have now stated that the data counter in the phone will not be that accurate and will miss some data, implying it is to do with counting compressed data rather than uncompressed. I disagree. The phone counter will surely count all 1s and 0s coming through it regardless of what they are. At this point I made the analogy to my electricity supply... the meter is in my house, that is the device by which I and my provider go by. They do not have a meter at the power station end. They bill me for what comes into my house at my front door and not what is sent out. That is the most accurate method for the customer.
I wonder what Nokia would say if T-Mobile inform customers that their hardware can not add up?
I believe there is a trading standards issue looming here as I do not believe I am getting what I pay for. At best appears to be 90% use. Whilst it is true they do not cut me off entirely if I exceed the 10GB, they are not letting me even reach that point. I seems similar to the current issues surrounding quoted broadband maximum speeds and actual obtainable speeds.
So has anyone had similar problems and disagreements about the fair use policy? Does anyone have any information / ideas about the Nokia data counter accuracy?
I am on the verge of contacting trading standards and any other suitable body about this.
    Many thanks.

    Thanks for replying.
If you are right, and as you say "I'm guessing", your butcher's analogy seems a good one. I know that the full data packet is not just the actual data but has the header attached (which I think can be up to 60 bytes?) but assumed that only the size of the contents would be counted not the wrapping. I wonder if this is what is actually going on. It would seem extremely unfair if it is especially as it can make a good gigaybte or more difference.
T-Mobile do not provide a reliable method to keep an eye on what is being used so what chance do I have? I still come back to my electricity supply analogy which I would say is similar to yours. My electricity supplier doesn't charge me for any electrical losses that occur between my front door and the power station (well not obviously anyway).
T-Mobile don't provide any software if you use the phone as a modem (unlike their web 'n' walk software if you use their USB dongle) and suggest you find software on the net to monitor your usage. However all the software I have tried seems to have limitations as to what type of data it can and can't monitor so is less than accurate and all have crashed at times and lost the running totals. The only accurate tool in my hands seems to be the phone itself.
Surely the customers shouldn't have to worry about transmission specifics, without those the net wouldn't work at all so how can they be charged for? Customers I guess would only want to pay for the actual data they are using. If I download a 1MB file I only want to pay for 1MB. Will the TV license people start charging extra for digital TV as the data is sent in packets?
    Hmmph!
    Thanks.

  • Nokia n95 8g connecting to computer please help me...

Hello people im totally new to all this ive just got a nokia n95 and im tryin to put pictures from my computer to my phone.
I want to do like a drop and drag so you basically go on my computer and open my removeble disc that would be the phone.
Then i can drop my pics in there.
I got it to do this once pictures were on the phone all was good then suddenly lost it all and cant get back to using this method i dont want to use the nokia system please help thanks

I played with different methods. For me, the easiest is to open Nokia PC suite and drag/drop jpg files onto the drop zone. If you can autoconnect via bluetooth, this couldn't be much easier.
You can do this for audio files also.

  • Nokia N95 Screen Backlight Problem! Please Help Wi...

Its been about 9 month since I purchased Nokia N95. Last night, when I was watching a video, its screen backlight began to flickr. It turned very dim and then restored. It turned again compeletely off, then came to its normal brightness. I tilted the phone in all ways, hto it gently to know whether some wire inside is loose, open and closed the slider. But the screen went on and off itself. I reset my phone by hard formatting (*#7370#) but of no use. The next day, it did the same. After two days, now it is stable. But I fear it might be started again.
I want to know can this problem be due to some moisture inside my phone or is it because of some hardware proble. And please suggest what should I do. My phone is still under warrenty, but the phone is stable for at least a whole day. Should I carry it to warrenter for repair?
Any suggestions in this regard? Please reply with practical experience and not a hypothetical reply.
    I appreciate your cooperation.

  • Nokia N95 - im on 02 Network - need help from ALL ...

    Hi guys and gals
as you all know from my many many previous posts, i am now on my 3rd Nokia N95
i have had this one since the 4th of April this year
and still this phone is doing my head in!
it keeps restarting all the time, the clicky wobbly slider and high pitch noise were apparent in both of my first 2 handsets..
my Nokia Bluetooth headset (model: BH-900) takes 4-5 attempts before it actually stays connected! keeps disconnecting!
ok, can ANYONE tell me if im being over-sensitive, but on the keypad where the RED and GREEN buttons are, do ANY of you have a lot of wobbling and a lot of give on this itself or minor movement? or is it absolutely solid as a rock with no movement whatsoever?
it feels loose and tacky, trouble is im on an 18 month contract and i want this phone to last the duration!
i got through to the 02 Returns team and spoke with this really arrogant snotty stuck up **bleep** who said that i have to return the handset and be without my N95 for 5 days!
he was extremely sarcastic and just didnt care what i was saying
I said this was unacceptable! i made a formal complaint on his attitude
im on an 18 month contract paying £40+ a month!!!
one of the team leaders very kindly organised a straight doorstep swap after owning the 3rd handset for over 2 months now.
normally its no more than 28 days! so thats a result
i just wanted to know of any recent 02 online customers having the same problems i have had as stated above
or am i too expect my 4th replacement with wobbling sliders, high pitch noises, loose pads where the green and red buttons are?

Only had mine since Friday and not actually received/made any calls yet so can't comment on hissing etc. But the slider seems fine on mine - the area around the red/green buttons could be perceived to be wobbly but on mine that is just the whole of the top part (the bit which slides) moving slightly up and down because it is separate to the bottom part of the phone. The actual buttons are fine.
I daresay though, that going by my track record with all my equipment recently I shall have some problems to report/ask for advice on.

  • Remove N-Gage that came with Nokia N95 firmware ve...

I've noticed that when you uninstall the N-Gage aplication,
it leaves in the Nokia N95's read only memory (ROM,)
the aplication ngiinstaller.exe, this causes a death link in the
    aplication menu called Games.
How do I remove this link, it's no longer needed, they sould'nt even putted the N-Gage standard in the firmware, the link does'nt delete by hand, only says that it is not removable.

  • Nokia N95 and Maps Software

Hi, Just recently I bought licence to Maps from Nokia for one month just to check how it works. The day I bought this I could not open Maps software for a single time. Because whenever I click on maps, its load 90% then it hang. I tried again and again nothing it does not open, I restart the mobile, nothing happen. Can you please inform me what can I do? Thanking you.

    @countryjet123
Would need to know whether you are using Nokia Maps v2.0 or Ovi Maps v3 from here:http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/maps-support/compatibility-and-download#/nokia-n95/
Map data is different between these versions and most common cause of application crashing is corrupt or incorrect data.
You may need to delete E:\cities + .qf file, re-open Maps application to re-initialise application and re-define necessary folder structure for Ovi Suite > Maps to re-download regional mapping.

  • Help with my nokia n95 please.

    Hi all.
I am with 3g network, i had a free upgrade a few months ago, did not like the mobile they sent me ( nokia 6288 ).
So i bought a brand new nokia n95 from ebay, locked to vodafone network.
I had it unlocked saturday and put my 3g sim card in it.
The phone is working, but i could not send picture messages or brow,s the web.
I managed to sort those 2 probs out with the help of the nokia website, had to download 2 codes for my phone.
does anyone know how i can get my gps to work with the 3g network ?.
I did phone my network provider, and was told it will not work, becouse my n95 needs to be locked to the 3g network.
    Can anyone help me please.
    Regards
    Ken.

    Hi kenbo
Although "voice navigation" requires purchasing a license, GPS feature is not network dependent. You can however have a free "3 day trial"
Firstly if you are using v12.0.013 software on your N95 it is a lot quicker to obtain fix with A-GPS feature, although an active connection via WLAN or Network is needed.
Go outside away from buildings and tress with clear view of sky. Open slider and hold phone at 45degrees, don't cover "#" key as GPS antenna beneath it. Low cloud or rain will make satellite acquisition a lot longer.
If you go to Menu > Tools > GPS data > (searching for + calculating data) > Position > Options > Satellite status
This shows any number of satellites up to five - empty rectangle = not locked on - black filled rectangle = signal acquired; you need a minimum of 3 solid bars for lock-on and triangulation to work!
Depending upon which version of Nokia Maps is installed on your N95 you may either have satellite icon bottom right of your screen or satellite icon with three yellow or green lights.

  • Hard Drive Failure on HP DV 6000 Pavilion laptop Windows-XPsp3 OS - Need Data Recovery Help

Hard Drive Failure on HP DV 6000 Pavilion laptop - Need Data Recovery Help
HP Pavilion DV 6108 NR, RG365UA, purchased in late 2006 at Best Buy, with Windows XP, upgraded to Service Pack 3. It has a Fujitsu hard disk, 60 gigabyte, partitioned into C: and a Recovery D:.
Windows tries to boot up, but goes to blue screen with the message: "Unmountable Boot Volume" for one second, then just keeps recycling until I force a shutdown.
BIOS Phoenix, hard drive test result: " #1-08 Fail "
I ran a disk analysis/recovery program on the Cdrive and it seemed to show the directory structure intact, and it was able to recover some files. I was using the free one from Seagate (which only recovers small files). The second pass didn't run so well, and during the third run the program said I should not proceed further, and I should contact a professional disk recovery company.
However, the D drive seems to be intact, so, I wonder if the disk is corrupted or just some aspect of the logical C drive is bad.
How can I get the D: to run the recovery software on it? The recovery disks, made by Best Buy, only proceed to the R / F / Q option screen, and when I press R, I get a blue screen every time.
Tapping the F10 key during startup gets me nowhere. Ditto the F11 key.
I dont care about the hard disk; it is the data (files, docs, images, etc)  that I want.
I contacted HP to order recovery disks but they are no longer available for my computer.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Update...
I found a website that offers the following:
    http://www.computersurgeons.com/p-13442-recovery-kit-435422-001-for-hp-model-number-dv6108nr.aspx
Recovery Kit 435422-001 For HP Model Number dv6108nr
    Price: $27.00
Recovery Kit Set (An Entire Image of the Computer hard drive when the computer was new)
But I wonder how useful it would be. Early XP , no doubt. And if my hard disk problem is a mechanical fault, would any recovery disk even work? The disks made by Best Buy when I bought mine new in 2006 don't do anything more than go to the R /F/ Q screen and then goes to a blue screen when I press R (to recover the OS and apps and data files). And, as I wrote, it is the data that I want, not the disk drive.

It sounds like you have the "Say caller's name" active within profile settings.
This will start the ringtone, pause, then a synthersized voice will pronounce the contacts name, then the ringtone will carry on again.
Depending on the wording you have stored in the contact's details, determines what the little voice says.
