Nokia N95 backlight problem...

My Nokia N95 backlight has stopped working recently for no reason at all. The phone turned itself off and when i tried to turn back on i had to remove the battery to do so. ever since then the backlight has not worked. Has anybody had this happen to them or know of a way to fix it..?? I have already tried re formatting and that didn't work etc.

Take it to a nokia care point because it has suffered a hardware failure. Failures like this usually happen after the phone has been dropped or bumped hard but it can just happen.

    Ok so been using the Nokia N95 8gb phone for about a week now and noticed that there is a tendency for the phone to freeze for up to 10 seconds like when opening other things such as Inbox etc. The problems mainly occur when the phone is slid shut, then when resliding the phone open the phone freezes or sometimes screen stays black until battery is taken out!
    When the phone is slid shut sometimes the screen goes fuzzy in places aswell like a TV with no reception. The text and theme on the phone sometimes goes a dodgy colour aswell like a negative photo and sometimes even goes back to front and the wrong way round?? Anyone else had similar problems or knows what this is??

    Its unlikely to have the same issue after doing a software upgrade, it could be some application on your memory card or the simcard .
    You may try the steps below
    - A soft reset by keying in *#7780# when on standby - This will not delete any data but will restore all the settings back to default.
    If that does not help then you may wanna try doing a hard reset by keying in *#7370# when on standby - This will reformat the phone. DO NOT FORGET TO DO A BACK UP AS THIS WILL ERASE YOUR ENTIRE PHONE MEMORY.
    The security code by default is 12345
    Also would be best to reformat your memory card and sim cards well as there might be some applications in there which is causing your phone to lag.

    HI i have a nokia n95 8gb and it enters in the gallery without me pressing any button.As soon as i unlock it it enters in the gallery.I can't even take a picture or enter the contacts because it kepps entering in the gallery at images and videoes.I tried updating the soft and resetting the phone but the problem persisted.What should i do?

    The only thing I could think of is that the Key that's next to the shutter key, the one that has what looks like a Play key is pressed in.
    This key causes the Gallery to start and show the last picture taken. It may have malfunctioned.
    You would need to take it to a service point or repair technician to take a look at it.

    i am facing a problem in 3G service in NOKIA N95.
    i am having the service of 3G when i will connect the internet via WAP it will connect but i cannot able to browse or open any web page and if i will discoonect the wap and try to connect again i cannot able to connect even i cannot able to make a call my 3g settings for wap is fine i have checked also but this is not in the case with gprs(2G) its working fine.
    so please can any body guide me that what is the problem exactly (proble with in hand set or any other).

  • Nokia N95 USB Problem

    I have a problem with my Nokia N95-1 considering the USB transfer to my Memory Card.
    I have a 1GB Kingston MicroSD, the latest software (V 20.0.015, 13-11-07, RM-159, Balkans Pack, updated from V13); PC Suite v6.85.14.1 on Windows XP Professional.
    While I was transfering some 300MB of music to the MicroSD, Explorer crashed and reported that data might have
    been lost during the transfer. I checked my phone and noticed "ghost" files on the memory card (free memory was reduced by 300MB, but the phone couldn't register new files). I retransfered the files, disconnected the phone and started the Music Player.
    Music Player said "Repairing corrupted database", hanged for a while and then added newly transfered files to the track list. But, when I tried to play a file, it refused to do it and said "Generalystem error". Phone became slow and impossible to operate, so I had to restart it. Same problem occured again, and similar things happened in File Explorer (shows nothing on the card), LCG Jukebox and LCG Xplore (get stucked when they access it or refuse to start files).
    After this, I removed the MicroSD - after this, everything on my N95 returned to normal.
    Since then, I've tried to change the USB Cable, USB Port, USB Transfer mode; tried to reformat my MicroSD many times with many formatting tools - Phone Memory Card Manager, Windows Formatter, KillDisk, Panasonic SDFormatter - but the result always remained the same: after I retransfer the files to the card, it becomes useless until I reformat it again.
    These programs didn't register any corruptions, but Windows Formatter and Panasonic SDFormatter would sometimes report that they were unable to reformat the card.
    I tried to insert the MicroSD into my MSI Mega538 MP3 player, reformat, and then transfer files to it. Again,
    transfer itself worked okay, but when I inserted the card into my N95, same problem occured. I tried to transfer
    some files to the Phone Memory via PC Suite - it worked great.
    I tried to insert my friend's 1GB Kingston MicroSD into the phone. It registered it perfectly - Music Player has
    refreshed the database, registered new files and played them without any problem. Same goes for the Gallery - some
    400 images and videos were recognized right away, and the phone itself worked fast and stable.
    When I bought my phone, I had no problems at all - files could be transfered normally, Music Player would simply
    refresh the database, and I could use the files easily - no problems, system errors, system hangs or restarts. But after that Explorer crash, I simply can't use the memory card any more.
    Sorry for long post, but I really need your help. Is the memory card corrupted, is it a hardware or software problem
    with my N95, or is it a Windows glitch?

    I strongly believe this is an issue with the card. Seeing that the phone works fine without it and works with a different card perfectly...
    Perhaps it is an issue with the data that your transfering to the card. It may not be compatible to the phone. Thus the phone lags and doesnt play the files.
    Try loading different data... perhaps one from a source...
    Try this once you have formatted your card...

    I recently upgraded my Nokia N95 Firmware to the newest one available, and since then, my camara has stop working. When i open the shutter and then then software loads the screen is just black, i cant click options or anything cause it dosent work. But if i take a picture by clicking the camara button it takes a picture .
    I have tryed everything by resetting, re-installing the firmware.
    Is there a way i can downgrade my firmware??

    It isn't possible for you to roll back the firmware update. You could try asking your local Nokia Care Point if they will do it for you.

  • Nokia N95 headset problem

    I have a N95-1. After having downloaded the new software V.20.0.015 the headset buttons don't work. The Media player is ok,I can listen to the songs drom the headset but can't change tracks and so on using the buttons..any help?

    I have seen a number of people report this issue.
    It may be a FW issue but check with Nokia.

    hi ,
    I am using 5610 from past 6 months, and recently, it has started to pose me a problem with a backlight. whenever i get a message or a call, backlight disappears after few seconds , and even after activating(pressing any of the keys) the phone, doesnt bring any light on the screen. All i could see is only the black screen but there is no problem with the backlight of keypad. please advise what could be the reason or do i have to change any settings. 

    there is a backlight display settings in settings try this or factory reset and then try upgrade firmware.

    At the end, the only option had been to take the mobile to a Nokia Center. So I'm without GPS...
    One thing that i don't understand is how Nokia don't change the way of updating the phone firmware, as the actual way don't seem secure...
    The technician in the Nokia Center recommended me that the next time it's better that I don't try to update the phone because it fails a lot of times. (Also said that there are no benefits in updating it... I don't agree much with him :-P). But as i have seen on the net, that kind of error happens a lot, leaving the mobile "dead" and the only way to repair it, is sending the mobile to Nokia...
    At least the warranty covers it and the repair is for free...

    my n95 speakers i think are blown..they sound distorted when listening to music..i've had the phone for 2.5yrs and have had this problem for around a year.everything works fine with the headset in its just listening to the music out loud.
    if the speakers are indeed blown, how much am i looking at replacing them for??

    Hello i'm new here. The problem that i have is that i live in holland but i come originally from portugal(i have friends that speak dutch and other friends that speak portuguse) my phone does not have both languages therefore i always have to manually make all my sms's to my portuguese friends (language pack that i have is euro2).
    the question is: is there a way to have both languages in one language pack so that i can use t9 for my sms's??

    The N95 will run locally installed J2ME (Java 2 Micro Edition) programs (MIDlets) like most every phone.
    However, like every other phone, it cannot handle J2SE (Java 2 Standard Edition) applets that Java on a PC and PC-based browsers can do.
    In other words, there's Java, and there's Java (which is not to be confused with JavaScript that has nothing to do with Java).

    HI, install NSeries PC Suite (it's different from the normal PC Suite) and then you have the possibility to choose what you want to sync.
