  • My Nokia N95 - can anyone help?

    Hi - i have the Nokia N95
    im on 02 online
my phone keeps restarting itself about 3 - 4 times per day
im just sat there sometimes and it just does it!
apart from that im very happy with it
i got rid of 3 of these handsets because of wobbly clicky slider and high pitch whining noise!
then i get this one and i thought it was ok, but NOPE !
do i have to send it back to 02 and threaten them with OFFCOM?
i have had my phone for 7-8 weeks now,
i bet they wont give me a new one if i ask them nicely
    i have firmware version 10.0.018
will the update sort this for definate?

    - Have you tried stopping/quitting all applications running in the background ?
    - Have you installed any third party product that may cause the problem ?

  • I can't update to Belle (product code 059B288)

I'm N8 owner with the motherboard swap code 059B288. I can't update my device to Belle by using Nokia Suite. Don't tell me i have to bring it to nokia care center for update. Getting defective first batch phone isn't my problem. Please let unlucky owner like me can update the phone firmware.

    Hi
The N8 product code 059B288 is SWAP code, meaning that you need to bring your phone to the Nokia Care Point for update. There is a list about SWAP codes in discussion /t5/Software-Updates/Nokia-Belle-availability-information/td-p/1298583

  • Check if you can update by using your product code

    http://www.nokia.co.uk/support/product-support/device-software-update/can-i-update
Blank_Reg posted this in another thread and I thought I'd share it. I dont know if this only works with UK codes or not.
Also if ther is a letter in your product code then be sure to enter it in upper case.
I hope this helps a few of you

If you try to update using device SW update you will get any updates commensurate with existing unbranded firmware, but not if you use Ovi Suite which will read original network branded product code which is "burnt" into chip and deliver software accordingly.
That's very interesting. I would never thought product code was burnt into the chip. I'll try the OTA option once the latest firmware becomes available;that's only after I read about everyone else's experiences first. I do understand it's desirable to do the full firmware update through OVI suite, but does it really make that much of a difference? Would OVI suite for all intents be flashing the phone, whereas OTA only updates the necessary files? Once you update OTA,can you then go and reinstall the full version through OVI suite?

  • Nokia N95; can not turn on

I have the old version of N95. I was doing an update. But it turned off an can not turn on again. It vibrates when the buton is pressed but nothing happen after. Any suggestion please?

It does sound like it needs a care point visit to sort it but try a hard reset just in case.
    Hard reset:
    1. Switch off the phone.
    2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (the call answer button), * button, and '3' button.
    3. While holding these buttons, press the power button and switch on the phone.
    4. Release when the phone shows the nokia logo or shows other signs of life like the language selection screen.
If that fails to fix it try the advice offered in this post by drummer27:
    /discussions/board/message?board.id=swupdate&message.id=14152#M14152
If that still fails then the last option is to take the phone to a nokia care point.

  • N95 Product code 0547686 V30 news?

    Hi
I have just got a N95 with product code 0547686 on the 3 network. The "Can I update check" says this model is good for V30.0.015, but Software updater only gives me V21.0.016.
Some topics from September time seems to imply that Nokia was looking at this. Has anyone heard anything new or is this usual?

    Hi, Thanks for the info.
I have done as suggested and updated Nokia PC Suite and NSU, still no joy. I contacted Nokia and got this reply...
"In regard to your enquiry, the latest software version 30.0.015 may not be available for download from our website for your specific phone model.
Software versions for a specific Nokia phone may depend on network operator variants as Nokia phones distributed by a network operator's sales channel are commonly pre-installed with software configured to ensure compatibility with the respective network services.
Operator-branded Nokia devices may also be updated with the latest software version that has been approved by the operator and the updates for individual variants may be available at different times.
However, note that not all operators may have approved the latest software available. (However, I am unable to advise on a release date for the software version ahead of time. I suggest that you check Nokia Software Updater periodically.) "
Is the product code related to the network supplier or do they modify the software for a particular code? Is the best approach to contact 3 and see if they have any input into the process?.

  • Using Nokia N95 with Mac?

Does anybody know if the new Nokia N95 can be synced up with Mac. The nokia website only mentions the PC suite for windows. I have managed to download photos via the usb cable, but would like to download maps for the built-in satnav, transfer videos music etc...
My dusty 5 year old PC laptop has been in the cupboard for 2 years since I bought my first Mac and I'd rather not go back and upgrade eveything just to make the most of this cool new device.

You can only use MapLoader on Windows.
I am using it under Parallels Desktop Build 3188. The thing is, smart2go who i think provides the map is still on beta stage. Out of the box, it has been my pratice to reformat my phone, so I have lost the maps. When I tried to download Philippines map (1.3 mb) it took me an hour to complete the download.

  • Car kit cradle for nokia N95

I have just bought a new car which has a hands free car kit in it suited for a nokia 6288, my phone is a nokia N95 so it is wider than the cradle that is already fitted for the 6288 and the connection plug in the cradle from the wiring is different in it to what suits a nokia N95.
can i just buy a new cradle that fits a nokia N95 and change the cradles over and if so what about the plug that connects to the phone from in the cradle, can you buy adaptors for these of some sort to change it to suit the N95 instead of 6288?

    Hi
The N95 does not have a wired carkit option, only Bluetooth. You don't mention what carkit it is that is already in the car but try pairing to it by Bluetooth and that should give some type of identity.
Cradle wise you can have one for the N95, but it will only hold and possible charge the phone.
The Nokia CR-99 will fit but it's a generic cradle.
There are also third party cradles for the N95 such as the Brodit branded ones.

    Hope this helps?

  • Nokia 6233 Product Code 0536889

With regard to Nokia NSU, if I check here: http://www.nokia.co.uk/A4305060 and enter my product code (0536889) I am told that the ;atest version for my handset is 04.91. However, when I proceed to download NSU and connect my phone using a CA-53 cable, the Nokia Software Updater software reports "No software updates available for your phone".
    Please can anyone explain?
I took my handset to a Nokia repair centre and had it returned "upgraded" with version 3.7 installed. Hence I am now trying to get the upgrade myself.

Well maybe my cable is defective too, I also get no software update available, and my 6233 is running firmware 3.70 which is ancient....

  • Nokia N95 firmware upgrades

I've got an N95-1 on Vodafone with the product code 0547869 and it's v11.0.026. I've checked on the software updater and it says that there's no updates for it. However Vodafone are absolutely adamant that I should be able to update to either V12 or V20 via the software updater.
As it doesn't seem to be available via the software updater what should I do to get the firmware updated?

  • N97 FW Update Product Code 0585162

    What is going on??
I have an unbranded N97 RM-505 Product Code 0585162 bought DIRECT from this NOKIA website but yet the SW update is NOT available???
If you found this post helpful, please click the green KUDOS star on the left
    N70 -> N76 -> N79 -> N95 -> N95 8GB -> N97 RM-505 SW v20.0.019

updating to new firmware depends on product code which represents your region of purchasing, language pack and if it's branded or not .... so NOKIA releases firmwares and release it for every product code depending on mentioned points
if ur product code hasn't the v.21 update, that means that nokia didn't release it for your product code yet or your phone is branded with an operator and that means that you should go to the operator care center
-you can show appreciation to my posts if it helped or useful by pressing the green Kudo star beside my post that hepled
