Nokia N95 connection error

Hi Guys,
I would appreciate, if someone could help me with Nokia N95’s connection error problem. I have my Nokia n95 from orange. From last two weeks every time I try to make a call, I get an error saying ‘Connection error’. I tried upgrading my phone’s firmware from version 10 to version 11 but in vain.
I tried talking to Orange support staff but they turned out to be clueless.
cheers...

I've had this randomly on my phone on O2 before. I didn't get it from O2 though.
I've read somewhere in the past this is a common occurrence with all symbian or n-series phones.
But i've been in the middle of a call on my N73 and it fades out and then flashes up "Connection Error" and my mate has had this quite frequently on his Orange N80.
Hope this helps.

  • Nokia E61 - Connection Error

I have a new E61 (from Vodafone in the UK). Most of the time it is fantastic - email, text, internet are all fine. However, over the last 2 weekends it has failed to make telephone calls. It displays "connection error" once it starts ringing the other number and then disconnects. It receives calls and sends/receives emails but fails to make a standard call. I tried ringing my home number and as soon as the phone rings it comes up with connection error. If I swop the SIM to a different phone I can make calls. Thew problem disappears after some time for no apparent reason.
I've taken it back once ad it started working and was OK for a week. Any ideas before it goes back again?
    Cheers Dave

  • Nokia E65 Connection Error

I am having Connection Error in my E65 when I try to dial any number, however it still recognize network operator. Any clue?

I have a Nokia E65-1 but since day one I have had the "Connection Error" problem.
Basically quite often when I try to make a call I can't. I will repeatedly get "Connection Error" on my screen.
Or I'll be in the middle of a conversation (often with 3 Customer Services) and the phone will terminate the conversation.
I'm on the 3-UK network and the work-around above is not available. In the menu I get Menu > Settings > Network > Network Mode > Dual mode
So it is defaulted to "Dual mode" and there are no other options.
I have sent my phone away for repair twice:
    1. re-flash done - no change
    2. couldn't find an error with my phone
Then 3 replaced my hand-set with a second-hand E65-1 but I still get exactly the same problem.
3 have told me that it is a service issue and that they can't do anything about it.
I have used a friend's K810i with my 3-Sim and the problem didn't happen. Conclusively the phone and since I now have been given a different E65-1 I'm guessing all E65's have this problem or I'm just really unlucky.

  • Nokia N95 Connectivity

After trying for over 3 days, reading so many threads about connectivity problems with the N95 8GB, I still can't get it to connect. I have tried everything. I manually deleted all Nokia/Nseries/N95/PcSuite/ Pc Suite keys from the registry, I have removed all drivers / cable drivers. Bluetooth drivers.
I have reinstalled everything and I still cannot connect.
    My Specs:
Computer Model: HP Pavillion DV2000Z with the HP bluetooth stack.
I can pair the device with HP bluetooth software and send files via "OBEX file send" option. (FTP connection to the N95). However, the N95 Nseries Pc Suite software just wont connect, all connection options are greyed out. I have also tried using a USB cable (from my digital camera, I didn't purchase the extra cable that came with the device) and when connected I selected "PC Suite" on phone it still did not connect. (Windows installed drivers for the cable/phone?, in the device manager it's called: "Wireless Communication devices" and lists 6 drivers:
    1) Nokia N95 8GB USB GENERIC
    2) Nokia N95 8GB USB LCIF
    3) Nokia N95 8GB USB OBEX
    4) Nokia N95 8GB USB OBEX
    5) Nokia N95 8GB USB OBEX
    6) Nokia N95 8GB USB PHONE PARENT.
Any support would be greatly appreciated!

Latest version of pcsuite can be downloaded from www.nokia.com/pcsuite.

  • Nokia 5230 connection error.

Nokia 5230 always say connection error when trying to make a call inside the house, even with full bar of signal & 3G. Anyone else have this issue or can help me out?

    @mokrypes
This seems to be working now. I tried today to download US maps and it completed and installed without any issues. Guess there was some problem with the map server.

  • Nokia C7 Connection Error, Dropped Calls

    Hi,
I have a Nokia C7 with firmware I updated somewhere at the end of 2010 or beginning of 2011.
The problem I have is that during normal calls the line just drops unexpectedly, and "Connection error" is displayed onscreen.
The voice kind of fades and then the error message appears, and happens within maybe 2 secs
I first thought it must be the duel mode for 3G/GSM switching around that must be the culprit. However after switching to GSM for a few days the same problem still occurred. It happens daily at least 5 times and is very irritating.
I use the phone in both my car and handheld, and dropped calls still occur, so vibration or SIM not touching the connectors can be cancelled out.
The signal bar on both 3G and GSM is medium-ish, and with a call in progress it goes up and down like a crazy beat machine. The previous phones I used did not have this problem at all, in fact they had reception where this C7 do not have. Their signal bars stayed fairly constant and did not drop calls and I used the same SIM-Card.
I live in a city but do quite a bit of traveling, and on both occasions connection errors occur every day, randomly and with no pattern I can suspect.
I am in the progress of getting a new similar, as it is the most probable component failing, however it is quite new, and will upgrade my firmware to the latest version, (I think the newest is Feb. 2011).
I would like if someone could help me with the issue, as I think it might be the phone itself, however the problem is network related.
    Thank you,
    Skietvark

I have the same issue on a C7 supplied by an insurer. The phone is SIM 3 and upuntil 2 weeks ago worked fine.
No I am unable to get any signal. And when I do the bar goes imdiately down when i try making a call. / Text or web.
I have tried 3x new sim card.
The phone is currently with Nokia care under the warranty and awaiting for insurer to hopefully replace it.
I have tried hard resets and firmware upgrades did not makie any difference. My other 3 mobile phones work fine.

I know cellcos are crooks on the whole, but since when have they been charging us for stuff we're not buying from them?
If you're accessing the Internet over your own WLAN and not using your cellco's packet data service, then the cellco has no reason to charge you.

  • Nokia N95 8GB 3G "Connection Error"

Hi all, when i use my 4 month old phone i was only experincing a small number of drop outs, now all i get is a connection error or network busy error everytime i try to make a call & incomming calls go straight to message bank. I did a factory rest on the phone settings & things seemed to work for a little while, but then stopped again. so i switched the phone to only use GSM & supprise supprise it works all the time now!! put it back onto umts & it wont connect, or into dual mode it may work sometimes!!
what can i do to get this problem fixed? it is the phone as i put the sim in another phone it appears to work fine (but that was a GSM phone that i used to) im with optus & rely heavily on my phone for business!! i just want it to work so i can be contactable 24hrs
    Cheers
    Greg

Had the same issue. My bet is you are trying to use a Telstra Next-G card in a non-Telsrtra Next-G phone.
The software is not compatible. You will need a Next-G phone.
I had to purchase two new phones N95 and 6120. Problem soleved.
The real issue is that sales staff do not really understand the difference between 3G and NextG.

  • Nokia Internet Radio Error: Connection Timed Out. ...

    Hi,
I'm having an issue with the Nokia Internet Radio application on the Nokia N95. The app launches ok but if I try and browse the station directory or perform a search I get the error 'Connection Timed Out. Try Again' This happens almost instantly i.e. it doesn't look like it's even trying to connect. If I go to the shoutcast site and click on the 'Tune In' button next to a station the Internet radio app launches and I get an error saying 'General: System Error' and the application closes then goes back to the browser and a message saying 'Web: No Gateway Reply' The application worked fine up until recently. I upgraded to FW V 21.0.016 and hasn't worked since so it may be that this has caused the problem. I've removed and re-downloaded \ re-installed the software but still get the same issue. Web browsing works fine, so I know my internet settings are fine, and the old open-source version of the radio player even works so it's just an issue with this app. Any advice on how to fix it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I had the same problem and I fixed it.  For me, it was because I am on the Rogers network in Canada.  Regardless of where you are many cellular neworks use firewalls and something called NAT (Network Address Translation).  Nokia should really make people aware of this because probably 50% of people around the world have this problem.  The solution for me was to use Rogers VPN or Public IP to access the internet.  Rogers blocks access to this internet connection so you have to add the service to your account for $10 per month but I have heard that other carriers like FIDO have not blocked access to it.
On the Nokia n79 this requires creating a new access point under TOOLS>SETTINGS>CONNECTIONS>DESTINATIONS.  Add a new access point with the following settings:
Connection Name: Rogers VPN (or whatever you want to call it)
    Data Bearer: Packet Data
    Access Point Name: vpn.com
    User Name: wapuser1
    Prompt Password: No
    Password: wapuser
    Authenticaiton: Normal
    Homepage: None
Use Access Point: After Confirmation (or change if you want something else)
That's it. When you load the internet radio Application and it lists your options select "Rogers VPN".  If you don't see it in the list, press the soft button for Options then "Select Access Point" and you will see the full list.  If you want the VPN to be the first thing you see you can change the priority under destination settings.  Just select the VPN and press "Organize" then "Change priority".

  • Free country maps download error in Nokia n95 afte...

I have downloaded maps application from Nokia maps support site (nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.1_lm_rom) and installed in my nokia n95. I had the previous version in my device was 2.xx (sorry i forgot the correct version). I had India map in my device with the old version. After installing i run the application in and it deleted the old maps data in the device as they are not compatible with this version.
Then i opened ovi suite and selected maps. There listed "Maps have been updated-Download updated maps". I selected "download updated maps". Then a new window came and listed "Install device application" next. I selected next. Then it listed "Checking old maps and voice guidance files.. this may take several minutes.". I waited for it to get complete. After waiting about  minutes it showed the error that "Internet connection lost - updating could not be completed because the internet connection was lost.... and so on" Try again. I hit Try again. Then it said "Maps have been updated" Finish. I selected finish. Then it returned to maps in ovi suite. There it listed the same message "Maps has been updated ..Download updated maps" which was shown early. No maps data for any countries are listed.
But there were no problem with my internet connection. I did these processes for three times. All times i got the same error. But there were no problem with my internet connection. I have done these with windows xp service pack 3, and also with windows7 ultimate and the ovi suite  2.2.0.245. My device OS version is V 31.0.017, 16-12-08, RM-159, Nokia N95(01.01).
I hope someone will provide a solution for this problem.
    Thank you.

or you could try the Nokia Maps Updater which can also add and update maps to your phone , and can be downloaded from the Nokia website !
