  • Nokia N95 email please?

    HI
    re Nokia N95 silver
    PAYG...currently virgin.
What's the best way of setting this up for e mail.
For sometime I was using this (out going mails only) with the yahoo account on the phone through my router.  It stopped working for some/no reason.
I would be good to have it working again,  even at a little cost.
I'm trying to reactivate the yahoo account. is this the best way or is there a better method?
There doesn't seem to be a set-up wizard on the phone at all.
I have just swapped my old netgear router for an Orange Bright Box; Internet Explorer 8, Outlook Express, XP.
    TIA
    David

    Hi Davidfarm,
    Thanks for your post.
If your mail account on the phone has been inactive for a while I would suggest you contact Nokia Care and ask if they can check/reset your Nokia Messaging account. It could be this push service is preventing you from setting up another account or actually getting mail.
    Also to make sure your N95 is cleared of any previous settings it might be an option to do a full reset;
First create a backup in Nokia Suite, when asked deselect the option to include settings (Tools/Backup)
When finished disconnect the N95 from the PC and reset by dialing *#7370# followed by the security code 12345 when asked.
When the reset is finished go through the first setup and re-connect the N95 to the PC
When driver installation is finished go to the update screen (green icon with arrow) and (re)install the latest software updates.
When the updates have finished you can setup internet access and other settings, restore the backup and setup mail.
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on!

  • N95 email settings problem

    Hello,
I have recently bought N95 and updated to recent version. But when i try to setup my email account, under both incoming and outgoing parts, i set my email port manualy. However when i go up and return to standby mode, enter again to the settings i see that the setting turns to default by itself.
Gmail requires pop manual port setting so i cannot recieve or send emails with my phone.
Is this a software bug? Any help?
    Thanks

  • Setting up email on Nokia n95 8gb

Can anyone help with my problem. I have an ntl email account which I have set up on my nokia n95 8gb. I am on the vodafone network. I can send email no problem but I cannot receive them on my mobile. I have asked vodafone for help but got no where. They suggested I go to nokia website and use advance settings to configure my phone for ntl email to be set up which I have done. But because i still could't receive emails they then told me to take it to a vodafone store for them to look at which I did, they altered the settings but the problem not able to receive emails is still there. I keep getting asked for my user name and password over and over after I click ok. I have checked they are correct numerous times. Vodafone says its a problem that lies with the nokia handset and ntl !! If the ntl server isn't compatible with the handset how come I can send emails but not receive and how come nokia website gave me a code to configure my phone to set up ntl email using vodafone network. Any advice would be appreciated.

  • Email settings in nokia 6111

I have nokia 6111 s40, 3rd edition. I an failing to set/configure email settings. Please anyone to assist. Your help will be highly appreciated.

Do you know where to start configuring? To be honest, I do not have a Nokia 6111. However, if I recall correctly it is either via
    Menu » Settings » Configuration » Personal » New » E-mail, or
    Menu » Messaging » Message settings » E-mail messages » Edit mailboxes.
Or have you found that already and you face another issue? Which one? For each alternative above, I have a similar phone here to go through the configuration step-by-step together. Just ask!

  • Please help! Nokia N97 Email and Message Settings ...

I got the Nokia N97 in July on Contract with 02, and it appears its missing quite a few settings but most important are the email settings in the Retreival section.
The only settings its shows me are "Headers Only" i cant seem to retreive anymore than that. I have been looking online and it appears that others who have this phone have the complete settings in Retreival but I dont.
I desperately need to get the full settings is someone able to help me with how i go about resolving this?
    Many thanks in advance

yes for native email client off the phone the headers only option is normal. you download a full message upon selection of a particular header. i dont recall it behaving differently at least on my n97. nokia messaging the stand alone app that you can download behaves different and its actually a pretty good app as long as you don't have to pay for it. in some countries you have to pay for it and it has a major downfall, it only stores data on the c memory/phone memory and that is not really an option for me.

  • Nokia 8600 Luna- No email settings in the US

I am a Tmobile customer in the US and I just bought the US version of the Nokia Luna. In "Messaging", there is no "email settings". I have contacted Nokia, who said that they would get back to me and I have contacted Tmobile who said that they have nothing to do with this. The phone works fine (except that it can't even connect with the gmail application). I just need any advice. I have tried many things. I don't believe there is a software update that would help me. This is so frustrating. There is also an "internal module error" when I try to use "Nokia Software Updater".

If that is a GSM phone, but I don't think it is(might be CDMA), there's a Nokia site for downloading setup for that(MMS,WAP, email etc).

  • About Nokia N95 E-mail/Internet settings.

Hello, I've a nokia N95 Dual sim i sent a message to the operator services  about Data services for internet/ e-mail,the only reply i got is "sorry your phone is not supported! How! can someone help me out with this staff!

Are you saying your N95 has two sim card slots? If so then it isn't a Nokia N95, it's not even a Nokia. It is a chinese made counterfeit that does not contain nokia hardware or software.
If instead you are using a dual sim adaptor with an N95 then remove the adaptor, insert one sim card and try again.

I guess you have POP/IMAP enabled on the GMail account, so if it still does not work, check the Access point and make sure it is the one that you use for the Incoming messages.
But if everything is OK with settings, you might want to check with the operator. The network might be blocking the ports/protocol. Anyway, most of the operators provide free SMTP server for their clients, so check with them...

  • Nokia 'push' email no longer pushing after service...

Had my e71 for a couple of weeks and i was quite happy, then i recived an email from nokia telling me they were updating my service and unless i re-entered my email password in email settings i would no longer get my emails pushed to my phone. I followed the instructions to the letter re-entered my password, pressed 'back' and 'changes were saved' since then my emails are not being pushed to my phone! Why! Help! It was working perfectly before the 'service update' thanks in advance.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but for your opinion to be helpful to other users (which is what this discussion board is all about), could you at least substantiate your comment(s)? Also, you refer to (I presume Nokia Messaging) in the past tense, yet it is an active service.
    @superdanx
I have been using Nokia Email/Messaging for the past 4 months, and have also found its push at times unreliable, but the last couple of weeks it has been exceptional, apart from the outage on Sunday for a few hours. Try adding another mailbox from a different provider to see if you experience the same problem.

  • Can't open Email Settings after firmware updated a...

    Hi,
I've upgrated my E71 with new 3.00 firmware yesterday and then restored phone memory from saved backup (yes, restoring is still a great pain for Nokia phones owners - you know, not all the software installed restores and so on, but that's another question).
Before this upgrade I had MfE and Nokia Email installed and one IMAP mailbox was set up in standard Messaging application. After restoring from backup Nokia Email was missing (backup problems I mentioned above) but I've reinstalled it successfully. MfE and Messaging mailbox also worked okay.
But today suddenly I discovered that when I try to open Settings / Email menu item at Messaging app, this app crashes silently. Strange, but when I'm accessing Email Settings menu item being at mailbox tab, I can see this mailbox settings. but when I try to enter global email settings for all mailboxes from the app main menu, application crashes.
I tried to add another mailbox using Settings Wizard - and it worked, additional mailbox appeared in Messaging app. But all the same with it - no access to global Settings / Email menu but  works okay when I open Email Settings directly from mailbox tab.
The thing is that I need to remove mailboxes from Messaging App and it can be done through this unreachable global Settings / Email menu only.
Another detail - when I change storage from phone memory to memory card in Settings / Other menu, my mailboxes disappear and the Settings / Email menu becomes accessible. And when I change storage back to phone memory, my two mailboxes are back again (and functional, as before), but when I try to open Settings / Email menu app crashes.
Please advise, because I really have no idea what to do. I assume that there must be a way to remove mailboxes manually, but what is it?
    Regards, Yuriy.

Well, the problem gone after I deleted MfE profile (I don't need it right now). This Settings menu is accessible again. Anyway, it was very strange and I can't predict if I will face it again after I add another MfE profile.
