Nokia n97, iCal calendar sync

Hi guys,
I have an N97 phone (witch with all his small problems and Smbian issues is quite good and a very good otption in terms of an organiser / mobile email / smartphone) and I am trying to sync the calendar with a iCal (.ics) feed from a GTD (Getting things done) application.
Do you know if this can be done? And if so... HOW?
Thanks a lot in advance for any help

Well, how about this?
You can reset the synchronization framework which invisibly controls all this in the background, by…
• launching iSync [actually, yes: iSync]
• opening the Preferences… dialog
• pressing the Reset Sync History button
That will leave your synchronization clients registered and their data intact, but remove any indication that you have ever synchronized by emptying the truth database. Your next synchronization will be performed as a slow, first-time event, pushing changes from each client to the truth database and pulling changes from it, effectively 'repopulating' all of your client records and resolving any differences.
You can learn more about how this all works here.

  • Nokia N97 Mini - Calendar events since January 1st...

    Hi all!
I´m facing a strange problem my calendar events since January 1st aren´t displayed.
I tried to reset the device (hard reset) but when I recovered the backup I faced the same problem.
Is there anyway to delete just the Calendar data? I am asking it, because I would like to try a full resync (through Mail for Exchange) to try to solve the problem...
1- Anyone faced this problem because of the new year?
2- Anyone knows how to delete just the Calendar data?
I´ll try to backup everything (without calendar),  do a new hard reset and then recover the backup without Calendar Items.
I updated all the Firmware available.
    Any idea folks?!
    Thanks in advance!

Yes, thanks, I tried it too.
The last thing I did: Deleted all the calendar data on device. Sync Google with Outlook (it works) and than sync with the N97 through PC Suite (it works too, but don't solve my problem, because It's bad for me be dependant of Outlook, because I use Multiples PCs and this way, I don't have real time Sync)
I still looking for a better solution.
PS: Before it I tried another software to Sync (in my opinion better than "Mail for Exchange" to Google Calendar:  But it does not solve the problem (2010 data).

  • ICal calendar sync runs ... forever?

I've stripped down to sync'ing just one of several calendars, and the sync just runs and runs, on the order of hours.
No matter how long I let this sit, there is never any data placed in the iPhone's calendar. Based on other posts here, the only thing I could find to try was switching time zone usage on on both sides, but that didn't change the situation.)
Has anyone else seen this behavior?
    (MacBook Pro 1 GHz, Mac OS X 10.4.10, iCal 2.0.5 (1069))

    ... but I'll be damned, you're right.
Okay, so there must have been something garbaged in there. I note that I had previously disabled calendar sync with the SE T637 the iPhone replaces... probably cause the calendar was just to painful to use with buttons/joystick and I decided I didn't care.
So, iCal/iSync issue, not iPhone at all. Thanks!

  • ICAL calendar sync

    Hello everybody,
i just set up Teaming 2.1 and it works fine. Now some of our staff only want to share Teaming calendars using iCAL links within Lightning or Sunbird. This works fine for readonly configured calendars. With r/w enabled calendars all access results in MODIFICATION_FAILED errors.
Has anybody succesfully set up this combination ?
    Thnx

This is from the Teaming 2.1 documentation, Section 2.16 (Novell Doc: Kablink Teaming 2.1 User Guide - Synchronizing Teaming Task and Calendar Folders to a Desktop Calendar Application
You use this link to export Teaming calendar data for inclusion in another calendar that supports the iCal format (for example, Google* and Outlook*).
I put a packet sniffer on the wire when I tried to create a new event with Sunbird, and in the background Teaming is responding to the PUT with a "405 Method Not Allowed: The specified HTTP method is not allowed for the requested resource (Request method 'PUT' not supported)."

I think i tried all previously posted solutions (restore factory settings, disconnect from WiFi, start with incorrect email adress, ...).  IMAP malibox to read gmail mails works fine.
    Any ideas?

  • ICal calendar sync -time change problem

It's happened again. We change our clocks and when I connect my iPod mini to my iBook it syncs the calendars BUT it moves the time of every event up one hour. My 9 a.m. appointments are now 10 a.m. and so on. I've tried changing the default time zone in iCal, changing event times. Nothing helps.

I've had the same problem with a few iPods...
    Solution:
Connect the iPod, go into preferences in iTunes for the iPod and UNCHECK the sync calendars option
Next, open the iPod in the Finder, TRASH the entire calendars folder, Empty the Trash....
Now, go back to iTunes and REcheck the option to sync calendars. iTunes will replace the calendar files on the iPod with the correct times.
I have NEVER had to reenter all of the repeating events using this method. Takes about 2 minutes.

  • ICal Calendar sync with iCloud Calendar

I am moving from Google calendar to iCal and need some help. I have imported my Google calendar into iCal, but now that I created new calendars (to make different events different colors) events are disappearing. For example - my Google calendar came over to iCal under one calendar (one color) and when I change it to a new calendar (new color) the event disappears from iCal. All of my newly created calendars are checked. I tested this and events created for the first time in iCal do not have this issue.
How to I get all calendars to show at once on imported events?
Once iCal is all straightened out, how do I get the what I see on iCal to show on iCloud calendar? I need iCloud to match iCal so I can add events from my PC at work.
Then finally - I want to add either the iCal or iCloud calendar (because at this point they will be the same and either can be updated) to my iPhone.

  • Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 and Calendar Sync

Why did Nokia get rid of the calendar sync function that allows a user to sync years into the future and past.
Nokia Ovi Suite is a poor replacement for Nokia PC Suite.

I sync with Outlook calendar all the time.  Ovi Suite also takes all the time in the world to sync, but the ability is there.

  • Added calendar in iCal not synced to MobileMe

I moved a calendar from "On My Mac" to my MobileMe account group, using the export-import method. The new calendar, however, does not sync to MobileMe. I even tried an overwrite (bookmarks, calendars, contacts and keychains) from my Mac to MobileMe but the added calendar still did not appear in MobileMe.
I quit and relaunched iCal, which started an immediate sync. The new calendar promptly disappeared from iCal and I got a string of error messages (one for each entry in the new calendar, it seems) all ending with
    The server responded with
    “HTTP/1.1 409 Conflict”
and asking me to either "Go Offline" or "Revert to Server". It didn't seem to matter which one I selected – the error just kept cropping up. Eventually, I gave up and force quit iCal.
How can I add a new calendar to iCal that will sync with MobileMe?

    Derek,
I presume that this procedure represents exactly what you have tried to accomplish?
Import an iCal calendar or event
If you use iCal and want to add your iCal calendars and events to a MobileMe calendar, you can import them.
    Hide
    To import an iCal calendar:
Open iCal, and then select the iCal calendar you want to import into your MobileMe calendar.
Choose File > Export > Export.
Type a calendar name, choose a location from the Where pop-up menu, and click OK.You can store the exported file anywhere, and you can delete it after you finish importing it.
Choose File > New Calendar, and then choose a MobileMe calendar (by default, your MobileMe email address).
Type a calendar name (you can use the same name as the calendar you just exported), and press Return.
Choose File > Import > Import, select your exported iCal calendar, and then click Import.
Select the destination MobileMe calendar to which you want to add the imported iCal calendar, and then click OK.
Quit iCal and go to the Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Calendars Folder and delete any/all files with "Cache" as a part of the name. Log out/in or restart and reattempt using the exact procedure which I copied from the MobileMe Help page.

  • How can I sync an ICAL calendar on my blackberry storm

I was using the google sync application to do this and since it just went end of life then I need something new.  I easily added my gmail account and got the contacts and its calendar.   However, there is another calendar that is not associated with an email account that is an ICAL calendar that I would to sync.  I can not figure out how to configure that sync.   I was syncing both calendars iwth the Google Sync before.  I gussing it is not hard I just can not find the right information anywhere.  Thanks.

    I looked at http://help.teamsnap.com/?p=82
I wonder if you have to use outlook with the desktop manager now.  Can you give teamsnap a call and ask for a recommendation?

  • ICal calendars not syncing with iPhone 4 running iOS 4.0.2

I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.0.2
I'm using iCal on my MBP running Mac OS 10.6.4
    I have a MobileMe account.
Never had an issue with calendars syncing with the iPhone previously.
I am using MobileMe Calendar Beta. This now displays my calendars in iCal under my MobileMe account name (eg. [email protected]) rather than the 'On My Mac' section that it use to.
I have five separate calendars in iCal on the Mac all named appropriately (eg. Work, Personal etc.) and all that appears on the iPhone is one calendar named 'Calendar' with no events in it??
I've used MobileMe (.Mac) and iPhone syncing for years and have them set up as I always have.
Does anyone have the same issues? Does anyone have any constructive advise?
    Thanks
    Jeff

    Devendra : yes I have 4.0.2
Wendy G. : OK, thank you.
    Devendra : pl wait...its syncing
Wendy G. : OK, no problem
Devendra : While its syncing..what's the next step?
Wendy G. : Once the syncing has completed, we will take the iPhone and go to Settings>Mail Contacts and Calendars.
Wendy G. : We will first switch the Contacts only to "off" and select "Delete" data.
Wendy G. : Then we will go back to Settings>Mail Contacts and Calendars and switch only the contacts to "On" and "Do not Merge" data, but we will need to wait until the syncing is complete OK?
Devendra : ok..its done on the Mac. i am on the Mail, Contacts and Calendar page of the phone. from where do I switch the contacts off?
Wendy G. : Please tap your MobileMe account name and the sliders will appear.
Devendra : After selecting "Do Not Merge", should I select "Keep on My iPhone"?
Wendy G. : No, please delete, the data will merge fresh from www.me.com, which is what we want!
    Devendra : done
Wendy G. : OK, very good!
Wendy G. : Please go to Settings>Mail Contacts and Calendars, tap your MobileMe account and then select "Calendars" only.
Wendy G. : Please switch them to off, "Do not Merge" and "Delete"
Wendy G. : Once that is complete, then you will switch them to "On" using the same process, by selecting "Do not Merge" once again and "Delete" from the phone.
Devendra : Switched it off but after turning On again, it didnt ask me for anything, simply the switch turned to On
Wendy G. : OK, thank you.
Wendy G. : Please place a test contact and a test event on the iPhone, and also place on your Mac, to verify if the syncing has resolved OK.
Devendra : ok, pl hold on
Wendy G. : OK, take your time.
Devendra : my contacts list on the phone is empty
Wendy G. : Yes, that is expected.
Wendy G. : Please put a test contact there and the information will refresh from www.me.com
Wendy G. : Also please verify your iPhone is set this way:
Wendy G. : Go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>MobileMe account, tap it>Fetch new data>Set your Push to "on" and select "every 15 minutes please.
Devendra : yes, its that way only
Wendy G. : OK, thank you.
Devendra : Just as I was creating a new contact, all the contacts came back.
Wendy G. : Once you have the test event and contact on the iPhone and the Mac, please open www.me.com and verify when they arrive there!
Wendy G. : OK, very good, thanks Devendra!
Devendra : Bingo! Its syncing fine now.

  • Can I sync my iCal calendar to my husband's Google Calendar?

I have read many discussions about this here and on other forums, but can't find an answer that works for what I'm trying to do.
I use iMac, iPhone and iPad and keep track of our family's many activities on 3 iCal calendars (so I can use the different colors to track what each kid is doing.) I would like my husband to be able to view and modify these calendars.  He is on an Android device, uses Google Mail and a PC.
I can easily sync his Google calendar to my iCal using advice from this Google forum (http://support.google.com/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=151674).  I cannot figure out how he can sync my calendar to his Google calendar.
I have exported my iCal calendar and he has imported it into Google calendar just fine, but it is a static picture of the calendar when I export it so doesn't really help keep him up to date.
I have shared the calendar per the link by Roger Wilmut1 (link: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a9479) on this  discussion: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4599543?start=0&tstart=0.  However iCloud is requesting an iCloud account from him to "Join" the calendar in Google calendars.
If he set up an iCloud account (how??  I don't know) could he then access my iCal and sync it into his Google calendar?
I'm trying to figure out if I should just give up on iCal and switch to a Google calendar.  It is working so nicely right now with my iPhone and iPad I would love to just keep using iCal if possible.  Most of the advice I have seen describes how I can link to his Google calendar (done, but not what I want to do) or says I should move to Google Calendar and stop using iCal.
Would appreciate any solutions you might offer.

I've been using iCloud since it's inception as "mac.com" or whatever it was called. I've been able to Sync Outlook Exchange Calenars to my iMac, iPhone and iPad. However, I cannot get iCal (when viewed in iCloud) to display Exchange or Google Calender items.
It's odd, all other Mac versions of iCal are happy e.g. iMac, MacBook Air, iPad Air, iPhone etc. But nothing when I login to icloud.com and look at the iCal there.

  • Can I sync a single iCal calendar only and not all my calendars?

I use iCal at work and at home. I have two calendars: work and family. I use my .Mac account to sync my two calendars between my home computer and work computer. While at work today I subscribed to several of my employees' iCal calendars so that we could coordinate our schedules. However, now those employee calendars are being sync'd to my home iCal.
Is there a way to continue using my .Mac account to sync my home and work calendars but not those of my employees??? Thanks in advance!
    Joe

Thanks for the thought. I just tried that and when I select .Mac in iSync it tells me I no longer use iSync to sync and it opens the .Mac preferences window. The .Mac preferences do not seem to allow specific calendars - just check whether you want "calendars" to sync....
    Is there another way?
    Joe
