Nokia offers free download for Symbian Anna

Symbian Anna – the latest software update for Nokia’s Symbian smartphones – is now available for download in the Philippines.
Symbian Anna significantly enhances the user experience on the Nokia N8, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01 and Nokia E7. A new user interface, virtual QWERTY keypad in portrait mode, split-screen messaging, enhanced Nokia Maps, better web browsing and stronger security are just a few of the improvements that people will be able to enjoy. Symbian Anna can be downloaded using the latest version of Ovi Suite (version 3.1.1) on a PC, or over-the-air directly to your smartphone.

Below are some of the key features of the Symbian Anna:
New user interface: Symbian Anna brings a fresh new look and feel to the Nokia N8, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01 and Nokia E7 with crisp icons and multiple usability enhancements. Typing on the touchscreen is much easier with a split screen, so you can see message threads, webpages, contacts or email view while typing on the virtual QWERTY keypad – now also available in portrait mode.
Better maps and navigation: Symbian Anna enhances Nokia Maps with better search functionality, new public transportation routes and the ability to check-in to favorite geo-social network sites like Facebook, Foursquare and Twitter. Users can also share their location via email and SMS, even to non-Nokia phones.
Faster browsing experience: A faster, easier-to-use browser delivering quicker page loads and improved device navigation allows people to connect more easily to their favorite sites on the go.
Stronger security for better business: Symbian Anna brings true business-grade security with improved data encryption on Nokia smartphones. Business users with a Nokia N8, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01 or Nokia E7 can now easily and securely access their company intranet with IPSEC and SSL VPN enablers.
Near Field Communications (NFC) availability for Nokia C7: The Symbian Anna software update also activates the NFC hardware in the Nokia C7, so people can now simply tap their Nokia C7s together to share contacts, photos, videos and play games; easily pair with NFC-enabled accessories from Nokia and others; and read NFC tags to check-in and more.

I am not sure what is going on.
My E7 was serviced by NOKIA care Point one week ago. Phone came back to me with Symbian Anna and all updates applied (I checked it same day the phone was back)
Today, when checking Applications>SW Update I noticed this:
My Question is:
Is this update about patch for Symbian Anna?
Because here are details of my system:
I am confused because same set of updates came from Nokia when I was updating from Symbian^3 to Anna.
Can any one explain this?

let me give you some more flashes:
1. 7370 reset will tell you that all the 3 updates are required.
2. after doing so, ovi store will not work.
3. you will scour this forum and find out that you have to install 3 files, in proper sequence, reboot system.
4. bad luck.
5. then you will try 3 button reset
6. WOW. ovi store will work after the similar 3 file anna update
7. you will call nokia care line
8. they will tell you that 3 button reset is not nokia recommended and that you will have to "reflash" your device
9. you will lose your cool, especially after having come from the same place already
10. then you will scream out loud in this forum.
11. you will get used to the problem or you will optimistally wait for Belle.
whew... sometimes, i tend to think that if the above process is standard in one order or the other, there is no need for this forum! nokia can post this in a website itself as a
if... then... else... code prose!

Continued development for Symbian Anna?

All,
With the eminent release of the E6 and the Nokia/Windows future are any developers still interested in creating apps for Symbian Anna? I'm more interested in 'useful' apps (book reader apps, checkbook/financial, database integration, etc.) instead of games and music.
I love my E62, but it's just so slow and of course has it's own data transmission limitations. The E6 looks particularly exciting, but I would want to use it for several years to come as I don't upgrade phones that often. Maybe I should limp along until a Nokia Windows business phone is released (a scary thought).
I'd like to hear your thoughts on the matter. Thanks!

...and enter it into the Redeem Code box in the iTunes Store.
You will have to sign in to your iTunes account.

You dont need perpetual license. Creative cloud membership entitles you to get Lightroom 5. Please do check that you meet the the system requirements of Lightroom: http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom/tech-specs.html. If you don't have Creative cloud Membership, you can get the perpetual licence/subscription of Lightroom 5 from the link I just gave.

That's a good point, and I should have taken the time to point that out.
It's not particularly important that Nokia has chosen to offer free plug-ins for a limited number of their mobile handsets not presently supported by iSync. The really important thing here is that a manufacturer has actually chosen to support the technology at all!
I do support a vibrant developer community, and think that Nova Media and others who have taken the time to create plug-ins and, who continue to support them, deserve to be compensated for their efforts. It worth noting that Nova Media was out front with support for Nokia mobile handsets about a year before Nokia itself chose to offer support. And, as Jan points out, they continue to support units that Nokia itself does not.

Clarification on 025.007 for Symbian Anna products

Hi all,
as you might have noticed we started rolling out a new update version for the Symbian Anna products.
025.007 only contains some error fixes and is therefore not a mandatory update for N8/C7/C6-01/E7/E6/X7. This means, that not all countries/operators will test and approve this version. The rollout is happening in waves, depending on lcoal testing and approval. If you want to get a notification when the update is available for your phone, please switch on the software update auto check. (You can find it under Options in your phone’s Software Update App.)

I received a symbian Anna service pack of size 1040KB which when installed did not change the version to 025,but said it was meant for usability improvements.It will give me better scrolling in messages and help me get quick location info on photos plus more(it was not mentioned what exactly is this "plus").However it added conversation appl, java run time and conversation server to my installed files list.

The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
When the MacBook was new you needed to open the Mac App Store, sign into your iTunes/Mac App Store Apple ID, open the Purchases pane and click the Accept buttons. Those apps would then be available for you to download in the future on the Purchases pane.
Since you did not do that before and you have now upgraded the OS, I don't know a solution to your issue. Perhaps if you use Mt Lion Recovery and install Mt Lion again you can follow the directions for also recovering the iLife apps;

Limnos, I have seen that , but there is also this http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/lostmusic/ which someone told me about.
This came about when a radio talk show presenter over here was giving out that he could not transfer some music from his iPod to his new computer. It was all legally owned (to be fair to him he is always promoting legal music and iTunes in particular). The purchased stuff was no bother of course but 10% was from his own CD collection. A few callers advised using third party software and others told of some way of tricking iTunes into doing it. None of which he wanted to do, fearing he would violate his legal agreements with Apple. His final caller happened to mention that Apple had a new system for offerring you the oppertunity to re-download lost music in the event of a drive failure etc.
There is also a rumour on the net that this is the case.
I was curious so I asked.
