it was already a pain installing the software in the first place

When I start my Nokia Ovi Suite (V. 2.2.0.245) it works as usual, I can brows around my content without any problems. As soon as I connect my Nokia 5800 XM (RM-356 V. 51.0.006) it crashes. Worked just fine before I upgraded to the latest version on the phone.

Troubleshooting so far:

Uninstall Ovi and re-download from Nokia web. Reinstalled Ovi Suite but that didn't work.
I then uninstalled all Ovi and all Nokia related software, cleaned Registry and reinstall Ovi Suite: Failed to fix.
Then I installed Nokia PC Suite 7.1.40.1 which worked just fine with 5800 XM (RM-356 V. 51.0.006). I had no problems making backups or to synchronize.

Then I installed Nokia PC Suite 7.1.40.1 which worked just fine with 5800 XM (RM-356 V. 51.0.006). I had no problems making backups or to synchronize with Nokia PC Suite.
Made a complete backup on my phone.
Installed Nokia Software Updater and I reinstall the latest FW 51.0.006 to my phone.
Then I organized my content for a few minutes.
Shut down Nokia PC Suite and Nokia Software Updater.
Started up Nokia Ovi Suite.
Connected my phone and clicked on PC-Suite on the options.
It now works again????
Something happened when I installed PC Suite that enabled me to use my Nokia 5800 with Ovi Suite again.

Nokia ovi suite crashes when i try to open it

When i come to open nokia ovi suite v2.2.0.241 while it is opening it crashes and i get the error Nokia Ovi Suite 2 has stopped working.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and the problem still occurs.

SYSTEM INFORMATION: Help about Ovi Suite-System Information- Copy and paste.
CRASH LOG FILES
Windows XP
- On application crash, you'll see the dialog asking whether you want to Debug or Close. Don't do either. Closing the dialog destroys the dump file before you have a chance to copy it.
- Click the "For more information about this error, click here" link in the crash dialog, and copy the "Error signature" contents. The relevant content can be selected with mouse, and copied. Paste the text to the notepad.
- Find the minidump file (probably C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Temp\???.DMP) . If there are multiple .DMP files, check the modification time the find the one that was created at the same time the application crashed.
- Start Task Manager and kill process "dwwin.exe", the dump file is locked by this process.
-The dump file can now be copied.
Windows Vista and Windows 7
- On application crash, you'll see the dialog suggesting "Check online for a solution and close the program" AND "close the
program". Do not click either yet! Leave that pop up open.
- Open TaskManager (e.g. press CTRL-SHIFT-ESC simultaniously).
- Find NokiaOviSuite.exe from the processes list in TaskManager.
- Right click NokiaOviSuite.exe and select Create Dump File.
- When the dump is ready, a dialog opens and tells where the dump was stored.
- Also expand the crash popup dialog window's "View problem details" and copy the contents to this case.
- After you have got the needed data press "Check online for a solution and close the program" in the crash dialog.
NOTE: If the crash dump is huge in size then follow the steps provided here.
Here is the step by step instructions to send files on Ovi.
1. Log into Ovi.com
2. Click on files
3. Type in your username and password
For a user who has not set up files on ovi on his computer, it will give an option to download the file connector.
4. Click Download and install the file connector.
5. Then you will find the Sign in to Ovi Files icon in the desktop.
6. Close the browser and then click on Sign in to Ovi Files icon from desktop.
7. It will connect to ovi.com again. Login with username and password.
8. Left pane shows the directory like the windows explorer.
9. Anytime file status will show the respective file/folder
10. Select the file which you want to send and then right click the file and select the option send.
11. Type the email address [email protected]
12. Select the epiration date and then add comments if any.
13. Then select the option to store in anytime file.
The email receipient will receive an email with a link to download the file.

Ovi Suite: nokiaaserver.exe crashed

Der all,
everytime using Ovi Suite for my X6 , nokiaaserver.exe crashed and create a problem report to send to Microsoft. Update to newest version doesn#t bring any change.
Additionally avfert that crashed an internet connection isn't possible anylonger but the WLAN connection to router still works.
Attached you will find the technical information created by the error report.
System is Windows XP Professional with all updates
Does anyone have the same problems?
PC Suite works very well but I would like to use the Ovi Suite.

T61 [7663-V5M] XP ENG SP3 AND CONNECTION VIA NOKIA PC SUITE WITH NOKIA 6230i

Hi everyone,
I've got T61 and Nokia 6230i. I'm not able to establish connection between T61 and Nokia 6230i via Nokia Pc Suite. When I try to connect those two devices via Nokia Ps Suite. I've got error message that connection can't be established. BT is in both devices enabled.
-> IBM T61 - XP PROF ENG SP3 BIOS NEWEST VERSION
-> NOKIA 6230i - OS VER. 3.89
The funniest thing is this that I can connect T61 and Nokia 6230i without Nokia Pc Suite.
What could be wrong? Why I'm not able to connect via Nokia Pc Suite? How can I solve this problem?

Nokia Suite 3.8.54 crashes in NokiaDecMP4ASP_H263....

on my system the Nokia Suite 3.8.54 crashes in module NokiaDecMP4ASP_H263.dll (2.0.0.9).
that particular dll is sitting in "%CommonProgramFiles%\Nokia\Codecs\".
any ideas how to resolve this crash?

as instant workaround i have simply deleted (or rather renamed) the subfolders "Codecs" and "Tss" below "%CommonProgramFiles%\Nokia\Codecs\".
this eliminates the crashing.
however, i'm no longer able to watch any video depending on those codecs, of course.

How does Nokia Suite (or your Windows XP) crash – do you see any error message? We need that word for word.

Nokia PC suite crash

I downloaded the new PC suite and now when I try to covert music or transfer files to my phone the software just shutsdown without error message. There is a lot of posts about this around the web but no one seems to have any idea what to do... And no one seems to care...
I have windows XP with SP2 and I use cable connection(Cant use any other though I doubt that the problem is with the connection)

I totally have the same problem i installed Nokia PC Suite version 6.85 straight off the internet and didnt bother with the disc version. got xp sp2 and using cable when i select files to convert to eaac then click on the tiny phone they go into "my collection" forabout a second then the program shuts down and reverts to the program launcher box, presumably yours is doing the same. Considering now uninstalling it and installing earlier version to try that.

Nokia Ovi Suite 2.1.1.1 crash at startup on one XP

I have a Nokia 6086 that I synchronize with my home PC (XP, with OVI)
and with my office PC (XP, Outlook, initialy PC Suite)
since latest upgrate with OVI on my home PC I had multiple name entry (2 or 3 times) that I cannot clean and are recreated... I've decided to upgrade my work PC with OVI 2.1.1.1 french.
it then crash at startup.
I uninstant and reinstall OVI,
and it crash again before displaying anything usefull (onply the splash screen).

Hello, I tried to disable web updates for Nokia PC Suite -German 7.1.40.6 by using following methods,
1) DISABLE="WEBUPDATE"
2) by changing registry value under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Nokia\ConfServer\App
WebUpdateEnabled=0
But i am unable to disable it can anyone help me on this.

Nokia Ovi suite instalation crashes

hi, I have a same problem with the ovi suite.
I can install everything but the Nokia Music software, i just bought a 5800 and I cant access nokia store or sync my music with the computer.
I installed the software that came with the CD at first, then I unistalled everything and downloaded a newer version from nokia site, but the problem still remained. I even tried to install the sofware with compatibility of Windows XP SP2.
The problem is: Nokia music (or Ovi ) called the wrog c++ library, after this error message the instalation crashes and nothing works. I have Vista Home Premiun 64Bit .
If i plug the USB cable I can use nokia PC Suite and access my phone memory.
However I cannot use the nokia store.
Please help.

Do have backup of your phone data & PC registries then
Uninstall Nokia PC Suite, Nokia Connectivity cable driver, PC Connectivity solution, Nokia flashing cable driver(if any on your PC), Run PC Suite cleaner. Install latest Nokia PC Suite from europe.nokia.com/pcsuite, reboot your pc. Once pc started, connect your phone with USB in different ports of your PC and check
If you want to install OVI Suite, kindly do check in google, as last few days ovi suite's site was in maintance ....Make sure that your pc is away from all unwanted pc registries, then after installation of pc suite reboot and check.

Nokia pc suite 7 crashes

Hi,
i'v installed the nokia pc suite 7 and copied my contacts from the phone to my pc.
when i'm clicking on a contact in my pc, it's launching the Nokia Communication centre ,but then i get an error message from windows that's saying the application need to be close.

Same problem here. XP SP3, Nokia 6021, PC Suite 7.0.8.2, Nokia Communication Centre 1.0, Bluetooth. After opening the Communication Centre, all I have to do is to wait for 5-10 seconds and the "has encountered a problem" windows appears.

If I click "Send" (or "Don't send", same effect) then the Centre is closed. If I do not click, I can still work (almost every time).
Strange thing is that with another phone (also a Nokia 6021) all goes OK and I have no error. There must be something in the contacts directory of this particular phone that is not handled correctly.
Other problems, always with this phone:
1) If I associate an image to a contact, this does not always get saved
2) I cannot save a contact with First and Last name: I can type whatever I want but only one of the two fields gets saved (the First name and the Last name get concatenated in the Last name field: suppose I type "1" in the First name and "2" in the Last name, I save and re-open the entry, re-open the entry and what I find back is nothing in the First name and "1 2" in the Last name)
I can do whatever I want with the editor of the telephone itself, no problems.

E71 - Nokia PC Suite - does not connect ? unable t...

I installed Nokia PC Suite (v7.1) on my PC's:
Connected Nokia E71 with USB-cable
(Mass Storage > Via Windows Explorer I can see the directories on the memory card of the E71)
Problem-1: Nokia PC Suite gives error: "unable to find device"
(while phone is unlocked, USB mode is not applicable)
Problem-2: Also Nokia Software Updater does not work (cannot find device)
Happens both on XP and Vista PC.
In other words... I can't access my E71 at all. Who knows a solution ?

Hi, i just ran into the same problem with the "Device Not Found" I will give the steps for what fixed my problem.
Connect the phone to your computer via data cable. Select "Connect Pc to Web". Then, inside the folders run the installer.exe** and select Repair instead of Uninstall. Now your device should work like a charm.
**If the installer.exe interrupts you saying that the version installed on the computer is newer than what you are trying to install and exits itself, you will have to go to control panel to uninstall Nokia Pc Suite and reinstall it with the phone you plan on using so it will be the correct version. Even after you reinstall Nokia Pc Suite you may have to run the installer.exe a second time and select repair before it will work. I did anyways.
I hope this fixes your problems you are having. Also the reason it is hard to get tech support for stuff like this is because when you can connect your mobile internet to the pc you can use a lot of data because you have more access to things. Eventhough you may have an unlimited data plan most if not all companies will ban your phone possibly without notice if you use more data then they want you too. Also tethering, which is what we are all trying to do. Is illegal for most if not all phone companies. Always best to read the Terms and Conditions.
As far as the USB not beeping when connecting the cable. I didn't hear mine either but it worked but if yours isn't working try this: Start -> Right-Click Computer -> Properties -> Device Manager-> Check all USB devices to make sure they are working properly and you may need to reinstall them.

NokiaSoftwareUpdaterSetup_1.4.36NP.exe Crashes

Hi I've got the Nokia pc suite v6.85.14.1 Dutch
on Windows XP Pro SP2 Dutch installed, when I
open the Nokia Software updater (v1.3.85np) wants to download
NokiaSoftwareUpdaterSetup_1.4.36NP.exe, if its finished
with downloading this file, it starts running te file and
goes shutting down the old version of the Nokia Software
updater, it then crashes NokiaSoftwareUpdaterSetup_1.4.36NP.exe
with getting me stuck at the screen that says that Nokia software updater is shutting down to install NokiaSoftwareUpdaterSetup_1.4.36NP.exe
Friends of mine got the same problem, they us a diferent internet provide as I do.
The file is in no way corrupted by downloading it.
This leaves me unable to install the newest firmware on my Nokia N95.
How do I solve this problem or will there be a newer version aviable soon that will solve this problem.
The rest of the Nokia PC Suite is running fine without any problems.

I have this problem with the Dutch version of Software Updater as well. I have tried uninstalling the Software Updater, downloading the .exe from the Nokia website and install it, but this does not work either.
The tip the person above me gives sounds like something we could try, but honestly I wouldn't know how to do that. And besides, I think we should be able to install the newest version of the Software Updater without having to remove some files manually, which you normally wouldn't have to do.
I hope Nokia comes with a solution and again releases a new version that does install properly.

ContentCopier.exe crashes

Hi,
I cannot backup my phone as ContentCopier.exe crashes every time when I try to run the phone backup utility.
My phone: 6233
My system:
Windows XP SP2
Opteron 165
2Gb RAM
Nokia PC Suite: 6.83.10.6
Connection: Bluetooth using MS Windows XP SP2 stack
The error:
AppName: contentcopier.exe AppVer: 6.83.10.6 ModName: daapi.dll
ModVer: 6.83.74.9 Offset: 00086a62
Please offer some advice on what to do? Will this be fixed if I buy a USB cable?

USB cable did fix the problem. Seems that PC Suite is not very robust seeing how its incompatible with the otherwise correctly functioning Windows XP SP2 bluetooth stack.

Ovi Suite Calendar Sync Issue - crashes when updat...

Can you help me fix an Ovi Suite sync issue?
the Ovi suite will only sync when I select the time range as 3 weeks into the past (or less)
if I select 4 weeks into the past (or more) the Ovi suite crashes about 10 seconds into the sync
I'm using a Nokia C601, sync to Windows Calendar on Windows Vista
Ovi Suite Version 3.1.0.84
Device Software Version 014.002
I've tried all the obvious: uninstall / reinstall / reboot, updated to the latest version on softtware on both the phone and my PC.
I've uninstalled my previous Nokia PC Suite
I'm at a loss at to what else to try to get this working?

Could you please try this?
1. Please, check on Task Manager (press ctrl+shift+esc) if you see NokiaOviSuite.exe process twice on the process list? If yes, kill all the instances of NokiaOviSuite.exe, nokiaaserver.exe and NokiaMServer.exe. If not, a reboot should fix the issue.

2.Choose from Sync menu “Repair sync”. This operation may create duplicate entries in case the sync engine is not able match the records from different end points with each other. Also, all the deleted items which have not been removed from the other end points will be restored to the end point where the item was deleted.

3. Update phone software (Please take backup before going for software updates.
or
4. Atlast uninstall NOS
