Same problem here. XP SP3, Nokia 6021, PC Suite 7.0.8.2, Nokia Communication Centre 1.0, Bluetooth. After opening the Communication Centre, all I have to do is to wait for 5-10 seconds and the "has encountered a problem" windows appears.
AppName: communicationcentre.exe AppVer: 7.0.12.6 ModName: msvcr80.dll
ModVer: 8.0.50727.1433 Offset: 0001500a
If I click "Send" (or "Don't send", same effect) then the Centre is closed. If I do not click, I can still work (almost every time).
Strange thing is that with another phone (also a Nokia 6021) all goes OK and I have no error. There must be something in the contacts directory of this particular phone that is not handled correctly.
Other problems, always with this phone:
1) If I associate an image to a contact, this does not always get saved
2) I cannot save a contact with First and Last name: I can type whatever I want but only one of the two fields gets saved (the First name and the Last name get concatenated in the Last name field: suppose I type "1" in the First name and "2" in the Last name, I save and re-open the entry, re-open the entry and what I find back is nothing in the First name and "1 2" in the Last name)
I can do whatever I want with the editor of the telephone itself, no problems.

    CRASH LOG FILES
    Windows XP
    - On application crash, you'll see the dialog asking whether you want to Debug or Close. Don't do either. Closing the dialog  destroys the dump file before you have a chance to copy it.
    - Click the "For more information about this error, click here" link in the crash dialog, and copy the "Error signature" contents. The relevant content can be selected with mouse, and copied. Paste the text to the notepad.
    - Find the minidump file (probably C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Temp\???.DMP) . If there are multiple .DMP files, check the modification time the find the one that was created at the same time the application crashed.
    - Start Task Manager and kill process "dwwin.exe", the dump file is locked by this process.
-The dump file can now be copied.
    Windows Vista and Windows 7
    - On application crash, you'll see the dialog suggesting "Check online for a solution and close the program" AND "close the

    - Find NokiaOviSuite.exe from the processes list in TaskManager.
    - Right click NokiaOviSuite.exe and select Create Dump File.
    - When the dump is ready, a dialog opens and tells where the dump was stored.
    - Also expand the crash popup dialog window's "View problem details" and copy the contents to this case.
    - After you have got the needed data press "Check online for a solution and close the program" in the crash dialog.

  • Nokia PC suite crash

I downloaded the new PC suite and now when I try to covert music or transfer files to my phone the software just shutsdown without error message. There is a lot of posts about this around the web but no one seems to have any idea what to do... And no one seems to care...
I have windows XP with SP2 and I use cable connection(Cant use any other though I doubt that the problem is with the connection)

I totally have the same problem i installed Nokia PC Suite version 6.85 straight off the internet and didnt bother with the disc version. got xp sp2 and using cable when i select files to convert to eaac then click on the tiny phone they go into "my collection" forabout a second then the program shuts down and reverts to the program launcher box, presumably yours is doing the same. Considering now uninstalling it and installing earlier version to try that.

  • Nokia Suite crashes during Outlook Calendar and Ta...

    phone: Nokia E71
    While debug I get:
"Unhandled exception at 0x00000000 in NokiaSuite.exe 0xC0000005 Access violation." error
I recently upgraded MIcrosoft Office from 2007 to 2010 version, the problem started after the upgrade.

I have been facing this same problem for about a week now. I tried it all: reinstalling Nokia Suite, trying Nokia PC Suite, clearing the %appdata% folders, even reinstalling MS Office.
Finally I got it working by doing this:
    - Nokia PC Suite was working a little but very buggy.
    - I opened it up (again with a fresh install).
    - Clicked on the Synchronize Icon (the one with two arrows).
    - Checked "Calendar/To-do Items" box
    - Set from 1 week in the past to 1 month in the future
    - (originally I had 24 months in the past to 24 in the future in Nokia Suite)
    - Checked "do not synchronize automatically"
    - Sync worked, no crashes.
My thoughts: there is/was something in the calendar that is/was corrupted in a far future date that was causing the crash. I was getting multiple entries with some syncs. It could be the recurrences flooded the sync and caused the crash. (Like a web browser with too many tabs).
My suggestion, start small with the sync dates, and then increase them from there.

  • Nokia Ovi suite instalation crashes

hi, I have a same problem with the ovi suite.
I can install everything but the Nokia Music software, i just bought a 5800 and I cant access nokia store or sync my music with the computer.
I installed the software that came with the CD at first, then I unistalled everything and downloaded a newer version from nokia site, but the problem still remained. I even tried to install the sofware with compatibility of Windows XP SP2.
The problem is: Nokia music (or Ovi ) called the wrog c++ library, after this error message the instalation crashes and nothing works. I have Vista Home Premiun 64Bit .
If i plug the USB cable I can use nokia PC Suite and access my phone memory.
However I cannot use the nokia store.
    Please help.

    Hi,
My regular/initial reply to all of sort of this issues :
Do have backup of your phone data & PC registries then
Uninstall Nokia PC Suite, Nokia Connectivity cable driver, PC Connectivity solution, Nokia flashing cable driver(if any on your PC), Run PC Suite cleaner. Install latest Nokia PC Suite from europe.nokia.com/pcsuite, reboot your pc.  Once pc started, connect your phone with USB in different ports of your PC and check
If you want to install OVI Suite, kindly do check in google, as last few days ovi suite's site was in maintance ....Make sure that your pc is away from all unwanted pc registries, then after installation of pc suite reboot and check.

I installed Ovi Suite 2.0.35. Contacts sync OK but Calendar sync crashes Ovi Suite. The complete environment details is:
    Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0.1.35
    Nokia PC Suite 7.1.40.1
    PC Connectivity Solution 9.44.0.3
    Connectivity Cable Driver 7.1.22.0
Nokia Ovi Suite Software Updater 2009.40.0.60128
    Maps Service API 3.0.35.0
    Nokia mPlatform 2.5.195
    Ovi Desktop Sync Engine 1.0.0.684

     Thanks,
    Amir

Same problem here... My installation does not even sync contacts, it just crashes after approximately 30-60 seconds of trying to sync. I'm using a Bluetooth connection, haven't really tried with a cable because I move alot with my phone and need it to  be hassle free (which Ovi Suite apparently is not).
I need the sync to work, because my everyday work depends on it, and it is totally unacceptable that the synchronisation does not work. I'm really irritated about this, why does Nokia have to roll out new program versions if the sync works in older version just fine? I've only quickly looked through the Ovi Suite, and it just seems to have a new user interface, and a broken sync functionality - what was the point of updating it anyway?
BTW: I did not find any option to "Automatically synchronise every 15 minutes when phone is connected" in the new Ovi Suite. The old PC Suite did have a drop down menu for selecting either "Off", "15 minutes", "30 minutes", etc. for the auto-sync interval. What's up with this? Or is the option just hidden somewhere within the new "cool" user interface?
From the "Help > About Ovi Suite" dialog:

My phone is a E51, and here are some characteristics that I picked out from browsing around it's menus. I don't know how to get more detailed information from the phone, maybe there's some kind of "#1*" key sequence that needs to be used?
    - 120 names in Contacts list (118 kilobytes, "10843... free" whatever that means)
    - Internal phone memory: 26 Mb used, 106 Mb free, 497 kb Calendar, 118 kb Contacts, 1633 kb Messages, 0 kb pictures, 0 kb sound files, 0 kb video files, 0 kb documents, 269 kb MIDP)
    - Memory card: 277 Mb used, 1670 Mb free, 0 kb Calendar, 0 kb Contacts, 0 kb Messages, 26 Mb Pics, 107 Mb sound files, 103 Mb video files, 467 kb Documents, 129 Kb MIDP)
Ovi Suite shows my Device Information as follows:
    - Device Software: 200.34.36 (Up To Date)
    - Device memory: 106MB of 132MB is free
    - Memory Card: 1.63GB of 1.90GB is free
It seems that I'm gonna have to try uninstalling Nokia Ovi Suite and Nokia Ovi Suite Software Updater next from "Add/Remove Programs" and reinstalling PC Suite. Just have to check that it is still available from Nokia site... and then save the PC Suite installation file somewhere safe, and worship it as a holy relic to the end of times, and never-ever-ever update anything again after getting PC Suite and synchronisation to work once again...

    Cheers, Nokia Ovi Suite team

I have a N97mini and I'm having a lot of problem with music:
     - first of all, randomly the program generates ghost tracks on the phone instead of copying them: When I drag and drop, say, track1.mp3 into my phone area, it says that it has been copied , but when I disconnect the phone and I go to the music app on the phone, I see the Artist of "track1" but when I select it, the phone displays "no tracks" and when I try to delete from the thephone, it says "file corrupted" and it doesnt delete anything.
     - like 1 over 3 times the program fails to connect with the phone. Simply says "no device connected" or something like "Impossible to sync, remove usb cable" and so on.
     - why it's impossible to remove music tracks from the main pc list, when I remove a control folder from the control folder list? I made the mistake to add my entiremusic collection to the main list, so I cant sync the music and cant remove back the tracks from the main list (yes I can remove one by one, but, you know...)
     - why I cant select to copy the music on the memory card instead of where the program wants? Yes, I can select my "preferred memory" but this fails to address correctly the copy in the memory card.
     - why I cant create a playlist with all the tracks in a specific folder? It's really annoying to reselect all the tracks from the Ovi suite when you have already selected to copy them to a specific folder (my phone is not my only portable music device, you know?)
Before this phone, I used Sony Ericsson walkman phones and it was so easy: drag and drop from explorer and that's done. I've tryed with the n97m and it generates a lot of this "ghost trasks" that made me format the memory card...
This music software is so annoying...

  • Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0.2.42

    Hi -
This evening my Ovi upgraded me to v2.0.2.42.
Can you please post a list of changes/bug fixes etc in this version - I cannot find this information anywhere. I am desperate to know if bugs I have experienced have been fixed.
    Thanks

Hi dconroy1, can you elaborate bit more. You said:
Completely crashed on during install with exeception
Could you tell us, in which phase of installation Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0.2.42 crashed? What was detailed error message?
    Then, you said:
Still not able to sync  (see 6 page thread that no one from Nokia reads)
Still  get random message telling me to reconnect USB cable and error 80043bd4
What did you do, when this error message came?
    What content did you sync?
Does this happen all the time for you?
In that another thread about contact sync, you said:
    theshads:
    =======
that worked! you my friend are a genius - many thanks!!
Are you saying, that this worked in Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0.1.35 (previous version) and now you're saying, that this doesn't work anymore with Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0.42.0 (new version)?
    Thanks, Samuli
