Nokia PC Suite and Passworddragon Software

I am running Windows 7 Pro with the latest updates. I was using Nokia PC Suite v3.8.48 when I got a notice of an available update to v7.1.60.0. I installed that update forgetting that I had a past conflict with a program called passworddragon. Passworddragon utilizes Java and has a conflict with Nokia software. I contacted the makers of Passworddragon and was told to contact Nokia since they are the ones that are changing the registry settings upon installation.
I really don't care who's fault it is. All I know is that I can no longer access my passwords and I need to rectify the problem fast. Using the system restore did not resolve the issue so that option is off the table.
Please...Please...Please, can someone assist me in resolving this issue?

Bit confusing .. v3.8.48 is for the Nokia Suite whereas v7.1.60.0 ( If I remember it correct, this too is an earlier version) is for the Nokia PC Suite. Surprising that you got Update notification for Nokia PC Suite while using Nokia Suite. 
BTW, were you able to use passworddragon with Nokia Suite (v3.8.48) ? If yes, un-install Nokia PC Suite that you might have installed and if required re-install the Nokia Suite and see if the problem gets resolved..

    When I start my Nokia Ovi Suite (V. 2.2.0.245) it works as usual, I can brows around my content without any problems. As soon as I connect my Nokia 5800 XM (RM-356 V. 51.0.006) it crashes. Worked just fine before I upgraded to the latest version on the phone.

    Uninstall Ovi and re-download from Nokia web. Reinstalled Ovi Suite but that didn't work.
    I then uninstalled all Ovi and all Nokia related software, cleaned Registry and reinstall Ovi Suite: Failed to fix.
    Then I installed Nokia PC Suite 7.1.40.1 which worked just fine with 5800 XM (RM-356 V. 51.0.006). I had no problems making backups or to synchronize.

    I just tried Nokia Ovi Suite again to copy the full error report that it sends to Microsoft.... lo and behold it started to work again?????

    Made a complete backup on my phone.
    Installed Nokia Software Updater and I reinstall the latest FW 51.0.006 to my phone.
    Then I organized my content for a few minutes.
    Shut down Nokia PC Suite and Nokia Software Updater.
    Started up Nokia Ovi Suite.
    Connected my phone and clicked on PC-Suite on the options.
    It now works again????
    Something happened when I installed PC Suite that enabled me to use my Nokia 5800 with Ovi Suite again.

    I have installed the last version of Nokia PC Suite on my laptop (Windows NT). I synchronize my email with a E71, using an Intellisync add-on (intellisync mobile suite).
    I can't create a new profile in the Nokia PC Suite, and therefore not synchronize my E71 when connected to my laptop, except Over the Air (GPRS).
    Which application should I locally use to solve this issue?

    To install and run Nokia PC Suite
    • At least 250 MB of free disk space
    • One of the following operating systems:
    • Windows Vista 32-bit and 64-bit editions
    • Windows XP Professional x64 edition (Service Pack 2)
    • Windows XP (Professional or Home Edition) (Service Pack 2)
    • Administrator rights to the PC to install software on it,
    so as far as i know, for Windows NT users, Nokia PC Suite 7.0.7.0 may not be compatible i guess.

    I! I'm trying to connect a 3660 to my computer through bluetooth, vista sp1 (ultimate). Nokia connection manager didn't recognize my phone so the pc suite. Since I can transfer files beetween phone and pc... the problem is probably with nokia suite...

    To Nokia:
    It appears that when i chose to 'never show this window again' when the Get Connected wizard first starts up, that in subsequent attempts to Get Connected, some mission-critical initialization and discovery failed to occur.
    I'd surmise that this was a registry key change, but as a user I should be able to un-do this action, to be able to see this Wizard start-up page again.

    Has anybody tried installing PC suite on Vista business. One of my friend claims he is unable to sync his E90 with his laptop.
    Here's what he mailed me
    "• The installation gets completed and does not get completed at the last stage when there is a message that installation is completed successfully .
    • after pressing OK button next window pops up as follow.
    • welcome to get connected wizard which says please have your mobile phone and connectivity accessories at hand and click next , after conecting phone suddenly a message comes up saying that thereis no available connection type therefore the connection to the phone can not be established. the wizard will exit , I have to press okay as thereis no other button available, once I press okay the whole window disappears ."

    Hello,
    why does Nokia PC Suite put default contact number into "Other Phone" field in outlook? This field isn't shown anywhere, and it gives troubles when trying to sync outlook with other applications.
    How can I change where number is saved in outlook?

    This may be a limitation on phone side
    The standard 'Telephone' field on a S40 device will be synchronised to the 'Other' number field in Outlook.
    If you whish to change this then you can select 'Change Type' from the menu option on the device, and choose either 'Home' or 'Work' telephones, this will then be synchronised to the 'Home' or 'Work' number field in Outlook.

    As the New look (updated) Nokia sites do not provide compatibility list.. you may try connecting the phone yourself. Connect thru' USB and open PC Suite. Then click on 'CLICK HERE TO CONNECT A PHONE' ..then follow instructions..

    It worked with office 2007.Is there a workaround ?

    As far as i knw, currently Nokia Ovi Suite 2.2.0.241 has got support to Outlook 2010, which u r already aware of, so u can use this , since Nokia PC Suite does not support 2010 Outlook

    I have upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 and my Nokia E51 will no longer sync with Outlook 2007. Does anyone know how to get round this problem? Is Nokia planning on a Windows 7 PC Suite release any time soon?

    This is based on the Beta version of Windows 7 so is slightly different but the approach is the same!
    It now works :-)

  • Nokia OVI Suite and Nokia Care Support

    Today I called Nokia Support, because I could not download maps with map loader.
    The guy asked if the ovi suite is installed. I told him, that the Ovi suite keeps on crashing on start-up on my machine, and that all other software is running fine, e.g. the PC suite which I am using instead.
    For a price of 14 Cent/Minutes this "Nokia-Care"-guy had the nuts telling me that probably my computer needs to be fixed. After telling him that my computer works fine with all other software, he finally told me that I need to call Microsoft, as it would be their fault that Ovi Suite is not running on my machine.
    This is a poor joke called "Nokia-Care". Dear Nokia-people, that is no-support and no-care-at-all. Providing something that crashes for free, and charging money for providing rudeness on the phone.

    I have just bought the Nokia E71 and incredibly confussed with that instalation process of the PC Suite.
    Is there a program that is suitable for MAC?

    For Mac users Nokia has two different programs.
    You can use isync for syncing your contacts and calender and Nokia Multimedia transfer for transfering music (help of iTunes) and photos(iPhoto). Also from NMT you can sync safari bookmark.
    Nokia has different plugin for the device. you need to download the plugin for your E71 to start syncing with addressbook which is available in nokia website http://europe.nokia.com/A4299040
    You can download NMT from here http://europe.nokia.com/A4423135 to start working on iTunes and iPhoto and safari bookmarks.

    Make sure you have installed all available updates from Apple using Software Update and your phone firmware is updated.

  • Nokia PC Suite and Nokia 909/1020

    I'm a fan of using the PC Suite for messaging particularly. I just downloaded the new version in order to go with my new Nokia909/1020. First of all it tells me that I need to cancel the File transfer Mode in order to connect via USB. which I would like to be alble to do but the phone does not give me a menu that allows me to do this. I connect using the bluetooth and it tells me I'm connected in non-compatible mode of course. Help! I enjoyed using the PC Suite with the prior Nokia. The Settings menu does not give me "connectivity" as an option or " connections". Thank you.

  • Nokia PC Suite support for Outlook and Thunderbird

    Hi,
    I am currently using the Microsoft Outlook 2007 combined with Nokia PC Suite to synchronize the contents of the Outlook with my Nokia N73 smartphone. I am now considering to switch e-mail client from Microsoft Outlook to the Mozilla Thunderbird. So my question is then, is Nokia PC Suite compatible with Mozilla Thunderbird?
    I have in fact already installed Thunderbird, but it is not available as an option anywhere in the settings for Nokia PC Suite. All I can find in the Nokia PC Suite settings is a tab called "Microsoft Outlook" where I can choose the different Outlook profiles or change settings. In my humble opinion there should be a new tab added called "Thunderbird" or similar right next to the "Microsoft Outlook" tab in the settings for Nokia PC Suite after installing another e-mail client such as the Mozilla Thunderbird.
    I know that there is this option to choose what e-mail client to use upon installing Nokia PC Suite, where I have chosen Outlook. Does this mean that I have to reinstall Nokia PC Suite to get this choice to choose e-mail client to use? If I do reinstall Nokia PC Suite, will I even get to this option at all? Since I am only reinstalling Nokia PC Suite and it is already configured once to be used with Outlook, I'm thinking that maybe this option will not even appear upon reinstalling Nokia PC Suite.
    I don't have a clear memory of it but I think I once reinstalled Nokia PC Suite for some reason and I was not presented with this option to choose e-mail client as the first time I installed it. So this may require complete uninstallation and deletion of files and Windows registry for Nokia PC Suite, and then a fresh installation of it to get to this window where to choose e-mail client.
    Even when and if I get to that window, it's no guarantee that I will be able to choose Thunderbird even thou it's installed. Why? Because I know from experience that commercial and proprietary software like Nokia PC Suite tends to only support the industry standard platforms and systems and applications, or de-facto industry standards like the extensively used Microsoft Outlook and other Microsoft products. I know by experience that such software as Nokia PC Suite love to lick Microsoft's **bleep**. Don't you think?... or don't you know? You disagree? Well lay it on me, tell me what you think!
    I would love to be able to synchronize my mobile phone with my computer, even if I may use a Linux or other nix-like operating system. But if Nokia PC Suite doesn't even support e-mail clients other then Microsoft Outlook, such as the Thunderbird, then it's probably too much to ask for a Linux support for Nokia PC Suite. Or is it?... does Nokia PC Suite support Linux?...

    By this time I have made a clean install of Windows Vista at least three times, and on one occasion I remembered to check this this thesis of mine that I mentioned above. So for the purpose of testing if it's true that the Nokia PC Suite installation process or Nokia PC Sync configuration wizard does not present the user with the option to choose Mozilla Thunderbird as e-mail client, I have done the following.
    I have made a completely clean, out of the box installation of Windows Vista on the computer (retail version, non-custom branded Vista version). After installing the needed and important drivers for the system and other software required for the proper operation of the system and few other software, I went on installing Microsoft Office with Outlook 2007 as one of the first software applications. Then I installed Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird. After I had done that, I installed the Nokia PC Suite.
    As my thesis predicted, after successfully installing Nokia PC Suite and the Nokia PC Sync configuration wizard was started, I was not presented with the option to choose Mozilla Thunderbird as my e-mail client, even thou both Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird were installed prior to or before Nokia PC Sync. In other words, if this was a limitation of the Nokia PC Suite or it's installer, where it does not recognize e-mail clients that are installed after Nokia PC Suite itself, then installing the e-mail clients in this order should make Nokia PC Suite recognize it. But it did not, or at least as long as the Mozilla Thunderbird is concerned. Thus, this proves my thesis - Nokia PC Suite is currently not compatible with Mozilla Thunderbird. And Mobile Sensei Petrib confirms this also.

    I'm afraid we will have to bear with this. I personally don't believe that there will ever be any official release of Nokia PC Suite that will have full support (or any at all) for other e-mail clients then just Microsoft Outlook and Lotus, or that there will be any official Linux or nix-like version of it. Not today, not in next five years, and not in one thousand light-years from today. We can hope, but the odds are pointing in the opposite direction.
    So bear with Microsoft Outlook, and the Windows **bleep**. No pay, no play! Unfortunately... fortunate for Microsoft, Nokia, and others alike, but unfortunate for us end users.

    The manual says, that I have to select connection mode for the device : PC Suite,Mass Storage or the default option - but I can`t figure how to do that. I can`t find it in the Nokia manual.

    Re: Nokia 2720 and PC Suite - used previous Nokia mobile with PC Suite on windows XP without problem. Am now unable to connect my Nokia 2720 by cable to latest Nokia PC Suite (7.1) on windows 7. Have re-installed PC Suite and cable software and followed all guidelines - also tried different cable but mobile is not visible to computer. Help.

    I have a new laptop everything works fine until I install Nokia data suite msn stops working you cannot login and get the error message 80040111 when trying to type in the box it goes really slowly each letter appears several seconds after you type it in
    I have rebuilt the laptop 3 times installing all the patches without success
    I have noticed if MSN is open during Nokia install it asks you to close it as it need to update files does not say which ones, I have closed MSN during an install , kept it open and chose to ignore all with the same result
    Its really really frustrating , I sent the first laptop back before I had worked out it was nokia data suite and have the same problem with the new one
    It did work when it had the standard msn that came with XP which I think is 5.0 so am convinced its msn 7.5 and nokia , it all works fine together on 2 other XP PC's at home

    i am a messenger beta tester right now, i get this issue loads with msn messenger 8.

    is mentions that it is a problem with the msxml3.dll becoming un registered, and is simple to fix.
    looks like this happens a lot with msn, regardless if you have pc suite installed or not...
    it might also be possible to overcome this issue by updating windows. is it possible this could also be related to the mmlist empty error message?
