Nokia PC Suite running on Windows 7 (64 bit) with ...

Can you give us a date for when we will be able to sync our calendar and contacts from MS Outlook 2010 64 bit with PC Suite!?
OVI Suite support for this might be acceptable, but far from optimal as this program is pretty similar to using a 18 wheel monster truck to transport a pint of milk from the fridge to the dining-table..... somewhat bloated and way beyond what I need or want!
Please put some people on solving this issue, as it would indeed make more than one customer happy...and might indeed make for some new ones or make existing customers return...

Thank you to all. Finally found an answer to what is going on here between laptop Vaio w/ Windows 7 64 bits and PC Suite, have not installed Ovi Suite, and  will hold to do it until further news from Nokia.
Let me just tell you all my problem. It is as simple as not being able, once installed PC Suite v7, to have the connection with my E63. NO WAY JOSE, that PC Suite nor the computer, find the equipment. Get an error message stating that, no phone is connected.
I am sick and tired of this messages.
Agree with you on the fact that Nokia should do something to solve the problem with 64 bits, as most of the computers, laptops, nowadays come with 64bits.
I can see you get the connection but have some other problems.
If any of you can give me some hint what to do, will appreciate it.
Thank you in advance.

There's a whole lot to read in your post, and frankly I have not read it all.
Having said that, this troubleshooting guide should help:

In particular, pay attention to the mobile device support sections near the bottom, assuming you have already done the items above it.

  • Do not want Nokia PC Suite starts at Windows start

I would like not to have Nokia PC Suite be started when Windows sratrs. Where do I have to change (settings, Windows registry, etc)?
    Thanks!

You can remove PC Suite from the start up in the registry:
    - select "Start" .. "Run"
    - enter "regedit" - this starts the Registry Editor
    - in the left panel of the Registry Editor, navigate to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    SOFTWARE
    Microsoft
    Windows
    Current Version
    Run
    - in the right panel, delete all the entries relating to PC Suite
    That oughta do it.

  • Running a Windows 32 bit C++ application

    Hello,
I have a Windows 32 bit VC++ application installed on my hard disk. I want that this application should be run when I click on a link on a web page. Can I do this using java web start. What i want to do is deploy this application on a client machine. I will then have a web server on his intranet. When he clicks on a link it will launch the client application on his hard disk. What i want to avoid is any sort of messages like " Do you want to save this file to the disk or run this program from the current location" and hence i would like to use java web start. Do you have any suggestions?

    I have a Windows 32 bit VC++ application
ication installed on my hard disk. I want that this
application should be run when I click on a link on a
    web page.
Can I do this using java web start.Perhaps it is technically possible (eg writing a little java wrapper that pulls the exe over and then launches it with runtime.exec("foo.exe")) but it misses the point.
Java Web Start is intended for use with applications written in Java (plus perhaps same native libs), that are executed using the standard JREs.
The other problem adressed is that nobody wants to have foreign code, that resides on some visited server, to execute without restrictions on one's client.
That's why the security stuff is in there.
Another problem is versioning, to sync server versions and the versions in the client cache.
want to do is deploy this application on a client
machine. I will then have a web server on his
intranet. When he clicks on a link it will launch the
client application on his hard disk.It is possibly easier for you to buy some other deployment tool that has been made for this purpose or to write some launcher yourself.
Let's say your launch descriptors are put in a .mld (my launch descriptor) file.
It might contain some hints on the application you want to start, or might contain even nothing and just acts as trigger for your launcher.
You register the .mld mime type with the browser to start up your launcher whenever an URL ending on an .mld extension is hit.
You launcher will then connect to the server, download the app (e.g. via secure copy 'scp') and starts it.
This could be done even with perl or python scripting.

  • Weblogic Portal 10.3.2 for Windows 64 bit with OEPE

Our environment is Windows 64 bit and we are upgrading from Weblogic Portal 9.2 to 10.3.2.
I have installed Weblogic Portal for 64 bit using generic installer and have also installed OEPE Helios for 64 bit.
I am not getting Portal perspective in Eclipse?

These issues are why we dropped every Oracle products for our new projects. We only kept Oracle SGBD.
Working with Oracle products costs a lot, impose specific tools, impose specific environment (can't work with Windows 7/x64), doesn't integrate in standard toolchains (eclipse, maven, continuous integration, ...). More, you don't have any control on product evolutions and maintenance.
With this decision we saved a lot of money, a lot of time, quality, and community support is far more powerful than buyers think. Nothing is better than standards!
Sorry Oracle but I think you need to seriously rethink your commercial behavior and your relationship with J2EE developers.

Hello - I have been able to get the AIP installed.
Turns out that the installation was hanging because a previous version of Acrobat was already installed. On other machines with Acrobat, I would get a window stating that I had to remove the old software but on W7 x64, the installation simply failed. After removing the old version and trying again, the new installation succeeded.
Thanks to everyone for their help.

  • Oracle installation on Windows 64 bit with Intel Xeon

    Hi!
we have Windows Enterprise Server SP2 <b>64 bit</b> with <b>Intel Xeon</b> processor and would like to install the SOLMAN with Oracle.
According to the original Oracle-DVD from SAP there are only three possible choise entries:
    a) AMD64
    b) IA64
    c) I386
But I have the feeeling it should be one choice like "x86" is not?
    Which one should we apply?
The I386 can be installed indeed, but we are getting the error during the SAPINST-Installation "Oracle software not installed". I thought this entry was only for 32 bit?
The IA63 Bit can not be installed.
<b>Only the AMD64 we could install. But the question is, whether AMD is the same to Intel Xeon?</b>
Thank you very much for any useful help/comments...
    regards

    AMD64 is the correct one.
    IA64 is "Intel Itanium-2"
I386 is generic "Intel Pentium (32bit)"
AMD64 is the generic term for processors supporting EM64T (Intel) or AMD Opteron

    Hello Steve,
I recommend to post this query to the [BusinessObjects Enterprise Administration|BI Platform; forum.
This forum is dedicated to topics related to administration and configuration of BusinessObjects Enterprise, BusinessObjects Edge, and Crystal Reports Server.

Having posted this question I found a solution at http://www.symbian-guru.com/welcome/2009/01/how-to-install-nokia-pc-suite-v71-in-windows-7.html
This is based on the Beta version of Windows 7 so is slightly different but the approach is the same!
    It now works :-)

  • Nokia PC Suite: Can't synch with Outlook

Windows XP  SP2  (this is work PC, so no SP3, sorry)
    Nokia PC Suite  7.1.18.0
    Phone Nokia 6102i
    Microsoft Outlook 2003
    Hello all,
I have used the Nokia PC Suite to successfully synch my phone with Outlook Calendar and contacts successfully for several months.  Now, out of the blue, I get an incomplete synchronization with a warning message.  The warning message is rather indescript, "Microsoft Outlook."
I have tried reinstalling the app, same problem.  I have not reinstalled Outlook, because that involves IT intervention.  I will do this if I must.  However, considering many setting files are not wiped, I don't feel a high likelihood of success.
I thought perhaps an Outlook file became corrupted.  But I have no idea where to start.
    Any suggestions or ideas?

I don't know where to find my log file to attach it.

I met similar problems. I have used pc suite to synchronize my outlook2003 calendar and task with my Nokia E71 for several months. suddenly I could not do that with message that "your personal address book could not be opened, which is either not accessable or not available". I tried many ways with my outlook. no luck. Microsoft and Nokia support center could not answer my question.
