Solved!
Go to Solution.

You have to format your mobile. For that, Uninstall Nokia PC Suite from your PC and restart it. Now download the latest version of Nokia PC Suite from Nokia website and install it in your PC and restart it again. Now backup your mobile's contacts, messages, notes, calender and bookmarks via Nokia PC Suite backup utility (You cannot backup MMS and email without PC Suite support). Don't backup anything else like settings or user files etc. Now backup your images, videos and music files using Windows Explorer. Now format your memory card. Now type this command *#7370# (default security code is 12345). Connect your mobile with PC and wait for the message for installing PC Suite support. If message not appear then run Nokia PC Suite, click on Help and click "Reinstall Nokia PC Suite support". Install everything and wait for a minute. Restart your mobile and restore your backup. This will solve your problem. Now install applications you like. Good luck...

  • Nokia PC Suite support for Outlook and Thunderbird

    Hi,
I am currently using the Microsoft Outlook 2007 combined with Nokia PC Suite to synchronize the contents of the Outlook with my Nokia N73 smartphone. I am now considering to switch e-mail client from Microsoft Outlook to the Mozilla Thunderbird. So my question is then, is Nokia PC Suite compatible with Mozilla Thunderbird?
I have in fact already installed Thunderbird, but it is not available as an option anywhere in the settings for Nokia PC Suite. All I can find in the Nokia PC Suite settings is a tab called "Microsoft Outlook" where I can choose the different Outlook profiles or change settings. In my humble opinion there should be a new tab added called "Thunderbird" or similar right next to the "Microsoft Outlook" tab in the settings for Nokia PC Suite after installing another e-mail client such as the Mozilla Thunderbird.
I know that there is this option to choose what e-mail client to use upon installing Nokia PC Suite, where I have chosen Outlook. Does this mean that I have to reinstall Nokia PC Suite to get this choice to choose e-mail client to use? If I do reinstall Nokia PC Suite, will I even get to this option at all? Since I am only reinstalling Nokia PC Suite and it is already configured once to be used with Outlook, I'm thinking that maybe this option will not even appear upon reinstalling Nokia PC Suite.
I don't have a clear memory of it but I think I once reinstalled Nokia PC Suite for some reason and I was not presented with this option to choose e-mail client as the first time I installed it. So this may require complete uninstallation and deletion of files and Windows registry for Nokia PC Suite, and then a fresh installation of it to get to this window where to choose e-mail client.
Even when and if I get to that window, it's no guarantee that I will be able to choose Thunderbird even thou it's installed. Why? Because I know from experience that commercial and proprietary software like Nokia PC Suite tends to only support the industry standard platforms and systems and applications, or de-facto industry standards like the extensively used Microsoft Outlook and other Microsoft products. I know by experience that such software as Nokia PC Suite love to lick Microsoft's **bleep**. Don't you think?... or don't you know? You disagree? Well lay it on me, tell me what you think!
I would love to be able to synchronize my mobile phone with my computer, even if I may use a Linux or other nix-like operating system. But if Nokia PC Suite doesn't even support e-mail clients other then Microsoft Outlook, such as the Thunderbird, then it's probably too much to ask for a Linux support for Nokia PC Suite. Or is it?... does Nokia PC Suite support Linux?...

    Thanks for your answers!
By this time I have made a clean install of Windows Vista at least three times, and on one occasion I remembered to check this this thesis of mine that I mentioned above. So for the purpose of testing if it's true that the Nokia PC Suite installation process or Nokia PC Sync configuration wizard does not present the user with the option to choose Mozilla Thunderbird as e-mail client, I have done the following.
I have made a completely clean, out of the box installation of Windows Vista on the computer (retail version, non-custom branded Vista version). After installing the needed and important drivers for the system and other software required for the proper operation of the system and few other software, I went on installing Microsoft Office with Outlook 2007 as one of the first software applications. Then I installed Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird. After I had done that, I installed the Nokia PC Suite.
As my thesis predicted, after successfully installing Nokia PC Suite and the Nokia PC Sync configuration wizard was started, I was not presented with the option to choose Mozilla Thunderbird as my e-mail client, even thou both Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird were installed prior to or before Nokia PC Sync. In other words, if this was a limitation of the Nokia PC Suite or it's installer, where it does not recognize e-mail clients that are installed after Nokia PC Suite itself, then installing the e-mail clients in this order should make Nokia PC Suite recognize it. But it did not, or at least as long as the Mozilla Thunderbird is concerned. Thus, this proves my thesis - Nokia PC Suite is currently not compatible with Mozilla Thunderbird. And Mobile Sensei Petrib confirms this also.
Here follows a screenshot of the actual Nokia PC Sync configuration wizard.
    http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/9803/nokiapcsyncsd3.jpg
I'm afraid we will have to bear with this. I personally don't believe that there will ever be any official release of Nokia PC Suite that will have full support (or any at all) for other e-mail clients then just Microsoft Outlook and Lotus, or that there will be any official Linux or nix-like version of it. Not today, not in next five years, and not in one thousand light-years from today. We can hope, but the odds are pointing in the opposite direction.
So bear with Microsoft Outlook, and the Windows **bleep**. No pay, no play! Unfortunately... fortunate for Microsoft, Nokia, and others alike, but unfortunate for us end users.

  • Nokia 6630 - Nokia PC Suite Support Update

Hi to everyone out there to help me,
Few weeks ago, I updated my phone software and after that, I found out that I could view old messages and send new ones from my pc. I loved that feature, but didn't use it often. As I wanted to use it again today, I couldn't... I can view my contacts, calender entries, but cannot view my messages. I can send new ones though...
An error occurs as I connect my phone to my pc (via cable), which I had beforehand too I guess. It's not English, so I will translate it myself:
    "Nokia PC Suite
In order to make your phone support new features, the PC Suite support on your phone has to be updated.
Would you like to update the PC Suite support on your cell phone (Nokia 6630)?"
    - I click on the green tick.
A quick dissapearing window pops up... It's hard to tell what appears even on my own language xD:
    "Installing...
Accept all upcoming approvals on your phone"
Then in 1-2 seconds the message changes into:
     "PC Suite support installation failed"
    - I click on the green tick, the only option.
Well, as I said before, besides that I am unsure, this problem existed beforehand, and I could view my messages even like that.
I tried repairing the Nokia PC Suite, after I send this message I will uninstall and install it once... I will update the situation...

    Nokia 6630 (RM-1)

    Current: 5.03.08
Update (as of date above): 5.03.08
    Nokia Software Updater ver: 2.6.6en
    Connection via Nokia DKU-2 USB
I have exactly same problem as you described:
    PC Suite (7.1.51.0)
    message box displays:
The PC Suite support installed on your phone must be updatedto support new features.
Do you want to udpadte PC Suite support on your cell phone (Nokia 6630)?
    [green tick <yes> ] [red X <no>  ]
    InstalLing
[Accept all possible installation requests on your phone
    PC Suite support installation failed

As this goes on a banner momentarilydisplays on the phone, it is an Icon and the name "INSTALLER"
    this  happens twice
    then finally,
    PC Suite support instalation failed
    On the phone i see:
       Tools->Manager-->
            (App. Manager)
             PC_Suite_Sup (70kb)
             Version 1.7.0
On its status, it says it is NOT INSTALLED
So I select the option to install it but when I view the details again its status still says NOT INSTALLED.
I go on and Select REMOVE and it is dutifully removed from the list.
I coldboot the phone and upon verifying that it is not on the app manager list. I restart PC Suite and go through the procedures above (Install PC Suite support) and again it ends up with pc suite installation failed.
Checking on the appmanager, it reappears on the list. but it is NOT INSTALLED as per its status.
I'm thinking perhaps if there was an app (PC SUITE SUPPORT) i can download and install via PC SUite then perhaps that would solve the problem, but I've grown weary (leary?) of trawling Nokia's site(s) for it as I've ended up with zilch thus far.
Any one out there that can help? Someone from Nokia would be nice ...
Ihope i get notification of replies ...

  • Nokia pc suite 6 problems

I downloaded the Nokia pc suite from the website, and now my computer is showing error messages. They seem to all say the same things like " the ordinal 504 could not be located in the dynamic link library connAP1"
Also as this is not working have tried a system restore, and it will not let me do this, or remove the nokia suite software from the computer. Can anyone help please?
It looks like there has been an error in the downloading of this software, but the real problem lies in the fact that I cannot delete it, or system restore to an earlier time.
Any help would really be appreciated. I am running Windows XP

try running a repair to pc connectivity solution through control panel - add/remove programs.

    Hi pri7yadharshini,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Nokia forum.
This issue is coming from VC80.MFC which is a file from Microsoft that stops you from installing Nokia Suite. Install Nokia Suite on another PC, or contact Microsoft Support to resolve this issue quoting the VC80.MFC error message.

    Greetings...
I have a problem with Nokia PC Suite (6.84.10.3) and My 5500 phone: I've connected to My prone through Blue Tooth, but when I'm pressing some button in PC Suite (like Contacts or File manager) -- by some reason my local folder (where PC Suite was installed) were opened. When I've manually started ContactsEditor.exe -- error message "Error while opening a file vCard.dll" appears...

  • Nokia PC Suite Sync problems - Please advise!

When I sync my 6682 contacts with Outlook 2003 using the latest version of the Nokia PC Suite (6.80.22), I find that synchronization is not as seamless as I would have liked it.
    1) There is no indication in Outlook of what the default number in the Nokia is. Of course, there is no such concept in Outlook.
    2) If I have no e-mail address for a contact, the suite adds an e-mail in Outlook that reads "[No e-mail address found]". Why?
    3) "Home" numbers sync fine, as do "Work", "Mobile", etc. However, the phone numbers that I have as "Telephone" (unclassified) in my Nokia, disappear when the suite creates the contact in Outlook. I ended up with a bunch of contacts that only have a name and nothing else!
Is there a workaround for these issues (especially # 3) or an alternative to the Nokia suite that synchronizes more gracefully? I am trying to copy the contacts on my Nokia to Outlook so that I can then synchronize with my Pocket PC (Cingular 8125) and have them there too. I use both phones regularly.
    Thanks in advance!

SYNKIA first in the world to offer SyncML based SMS backup
NESØYA, NORWAY--(Marketwire - June 23, 2008) - SYNKIA, the Norwegian online personal data management service, that has been offered globally to clients since July 2006, is the first and only synchronization service, that offers fully sms backup as a part of SyncML protocol. SYNKIA users are able to back up all their sent and received sms messages, store them on SYNKIA server and access them via the SYNKIA web application.
Sms backup is realized as one time action of synchronization between a mobile phone and the SYNKIA server, together with all personal data. In the sms section of SYNKIA web application users have a backup of messages still present on their phones and an unlimited archive of all messages ever backed up with SYNKIA, no matter if they are still on the phone or not. Rich search functions allow to find a specific message by key words, date sent or received and sender name.
"I'm a heavy sms user myself and with SYNKIA sms backup I know, that the 5000 sms'es that I store are safe and easy to access. Unlike other synchronization service providers, we offer sms backup without asking clients to send all of the messages, each one separately as a single sms, to the server. I'm glad that our clients may use such simple sms backup service as this saves their time and money" - says Morten Sundstø, the President and co-founder of SYNKIA.
The SYNKIA personal data management service is available at www.synkia.com and can be used with any SyncML enabled handset. With SYNKIA one can store and manage their contacts, calendar appointments, tasks, notes and sms'es. SYNKIA offers 100% safety for users data both during transmission and on its servers. • E71x nokia pc suite connection problems

Everytime i  connect my phone to my computer and open Nokia Suite, it says that my phone is connected in a non-compatible mode. i do now know how to connect it in a "compatible way".

The phone should wake up when it makes the physical connection on USB and ask if you want to connect "PC Suite' if you have the correct configuration set. Go to Menu ->Settings ->Configurations->Connection->Data Cable->Data Cable Mode. Select 'PC Suite' from the options.  A better solution is to select the next setting below it, "ask on connection" set it to "yes" so that when you plug the phone in, you will have the choice.  In any case, that's where you tell the phone you want to have it communicate with PC Suite when connected.
If you are using Bluetooth, it appears the phone defaults to PC Suite, so I can't help you there.
    Good luck!

  • Nokia pc suite connection problem

    Hi
I'm trying to connect my Nokia 6260 by using bluetooth protocol to my computer.
After displaying the authentification phone dialog, and entering the code into my phone input box I've got the following error : Cannot authenticate the phone.
If I look into the bluetooth conections over my phone I see the computer. No matter what i do, I cannot succed in connecting my phone. Can anybody help me ?
    Thank you all,
    Ando

    1) Put Bluetooth "on" in phone, make sure phone is "visible for everybody"
    2) Make sure Bluetooth is "on" in PC, open PC Suite , select "get connected", select "search" for devices, when your device comes visible, select it and insert same parrword for phone side and PC side (like 123 or something).
Connecton should now be established. If not, please tell exactly how it fails (error message etc.).
Make also sure you make the device and PC and trusted to each other after the piaring, so you can after that always establish the connection automatically whe you put the Blueooth on in phone.

  • Nokia PC Suite Command Line Support

    Hi,
This one is for the techies, Could any one tell me if Nokia PC Suite supports commands via the command line?
I would like to make scripts to send texts through my cell phone while connected with the Computer..
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try AT command (CMGS+ etc) thru the com port. It's not part of PC Suite - it's part of GSM standard.
What's the law of the jungle?

  • Will PC suite support more than one phone?

    Nokia PC suite v6.41.6.
Windows XP Home v5.1 Service Pack 2
My wife has a Nokia 6681 and it runs fine on the above settings with PC Suite. We have the official Nokia USB cable.
My new 3220 isn't being recognised, however, and I was wondering if it is possible to support multiple phones from the PC Suite or whether I should just give up. I'm quite happy to upgrade to PC Suite v.7, but only if there's a good chance it'll work.
I've not been able to find a way anywhere of downloading a driver for a single phone or anything like that.
    Thanks.

Nokia PC Suite supports more than 100 Nokia phones. I would recommend updating to version 6.70.22, PC Suite 6.41 is already quite old.
The main thing is that Nokia 6681 requires DKU-2(or CA-53) cable BUT Nokia 3220 requires DKU-5 (or CA-42) cable.
They both look the same and you can physically connect both to those phones, but they require different cable.
But PC Suite will work nicely with both once you have the right cable.
I strongly recommend CA-42, Nokia original, Nokia PC Suite includes cable drivers for that cable, so no separate drivers are needed.
There are numerous unofficial CA-42 cables out there, but some of them are just dead.Message Edited by manta on 12-Jan-2006

  • Does Nokia Pc Suite 6.8 support N07 mini

Does Nokia Pc Suite 6.8 support N07 mini

The new version has updated the Music Manager but has changed some important features like being able to see how big the selected music files are. This is definately needed.
Better support for automatically converting MP3's to AAC which is a space saver for memory.
One problem I am having is that once you initially connect the phone it installs both pc suite support and sms support to the handset, however, this only happens on the initial connection. Any idea of they will make these support sis files separate if one wants to use more than one handset with PC Suite?
