Nokia PC Sync - Not connected

Hi
N95, PC Suite 7.0.9.2, Windows XP SP3, USB cable.
Most PC Suite programs doesn't "see" the phone, including PC Suite main menu. But "Connect to the Internet" and "Update phone software" works fine. "Video Manager" says: "Failed to open PC Suite Connectivity Device Management connection.". The wizard "Get Connected" has all three options (cable, infrared and bluetooth) in Step 1/3 greyed out.
I've tried to remove all Nokia related software from the computer. Then reinstalled with fresh downloads, to no avail.
Ideas?

HI,
In Nokia PC SUite main menu, goto Help Reinstall PC Suite support for SMS MMS, install it on your phone and check this.

  • Nokia 700 will not connect to Internet

Help! i have a Nokia 700 which will not connect to the internet via Vodafone sim card - I have data on the card and it works fine in other phones - just not the 700!!! The phone was originally on 02 - was unlocked and the sim from my old Nokia 6212 phone put in its place. (we use the NFC facility) It is working fine for voice calls/texts but will not connect to the internet which is its prime use! Have alreadycarried out a  factory reset to no avail - it will connnect via our own router - but of course once out of range i lose the signal and thus the internet!!! All help gratefully appreciated!!!!

You need to install the apn settings for Vodafone. Easiest way is to contact Vodafone and request they send you the settings by sms. This sms should auto configure your phone for you. If they are unable to do this then ask them for the apn settings and instruction on how to set it up. If not then come back here and we will help you set it up.

  • Nokia 5230 does not connect with USB

When I plug the cable in my phone and notebook, the phone asks me to select the connection type. I select PC Suite. I have downloaded the latest version, but PC Suite does not connect with my phone.
I use Windows XP Home Edition SP2
I don't have a clue about the cable type, but it fits.
There is no SD card in it
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

In that case, uninstall all Nokia related software and drivers with Revo, clean the registry with Ccleaner. Reinstall the latest PC Suite, turn off antivirus during install. Reboot the PC. Start PC Suite and then connect the phone in PC Suite mode.

  • Nokia 3500c does not connect to internet

    Dear all,
I have nokia 3500c handset( and service provider is airtel india).
I connected it to my computer(window Vista ) through Nokia PC Suite 7. I can transfer files and pics from phone to computer and viceversa but when i want to use it for internet purpose, the one touch access of PC suite giving the message that “the selected device is not connected! Please connect the device ad try again”.
though I can use internet on my handset and also i received mobile setting from service provider that i saved.
    Please help
    Thank you.

    Hi imranafsari,
While connecting the handset with PC Suite which mode you are selecting (like nokia mode/pc suite mode/data trasfer mode etc), i dont know exactly what all the modes you can connect your 3500c with pc? Whether the problem is that One Touch access does not detect your phone is connected. If that is the case, right click on Computer icon on desktop -> Manage -> Device Manager -> Modems. Check if it has got the Modem installed for 3500c. Once its confirmed that you have got 3500c modem got installed on your PC, goto One touch access and check if you see the phone is connected. If phone itself is not detected then uninstall Nokia PC Suite, Connectivity cable driver, PC COnnectivity solution and then run some reliable PC Suite cleaner which will erase unwanted registries from your pc, which were caused by PC Suite. Install 7.0 pc suite from Nokia.com site restart your pc and then try to connect One touch access...

  • Nokia Lumia 920 - Not connecting on MAC OSX 10.6.8

    Hello everybody,
I have this problem that alot of people are encounting but it seems having no solutions yet.
I bought my Nokia Lumia 920 a couple days ago, made all the updates alvaible but still I can't connect my phone to my MacBook Pro.
The funny part is that my dropbox application on my mac detect my phone and tries to import my pictures where neither iTunes or Finder are able to recognize my Nokia.
The all support we got is to download a app which is not working for the OSX 10.6.8 and they seem to force us to upgrade to the 10.7 OSX.
It is my right, as a consummer, to choose to OS I want for my laptop and it is to both Windows and Nokia to make their devices compatible to their customers computers.
So here is my call to all Nokia and Windows developpers: Do not ignore us, there is a problem and the first step in order to solve it is to recognize this problem.
The least you can do is to tell us that you are currently working on it because I feel all alone in the dark but I am pretty sure I am not alone and you might loose some clients that are delighted with your phone but really "**bleep**" off the way that they are treated in the process of solving this important problem.
Thank you for your time and comprehension,
I am looking forward some advices from any developpers.
    JyCey

I have to raise a different view point. Many users of macs are ordinary, non-techie people, who simply want a machine to do basic things. I know people with very old macs, and they are happily using them for simple purposes. I have 10.6.8, and any upgrade would cost me some money to upgrade parallels. Macs can run for years, and I believe that it is important for equipment to be able to be used for long periods of time, if the user wishes. Also, earlier OS are very commonly unsed in coutries where money and internet is not as available as to many of us.
I also use a mac with XP as I need a small install base for only one PC based software that I occasionally use.
As a developer, I would expect them to look at the actual installed back of OS, and realise that some simple functionality should be backward to existing users. The ability for a phone to connect to earlier OS is something which I did not even think about - I thought it would be automatic. Its also not that difficult to develop.
The forums are awash with frustrated new pruchasers of Lumia phones, suddenly realising that their expected functionality with PC Suite, etc has now gone. Many of those people are very frustrated, and they will pass on their frustrations to others, and sales will be affected.
I have been a Nokia user now for about six years, and I have watched the same frustrations of users, requesting Nolia to develop expected connection, integration, and sync software that other phone manufacturers seem to be able to do. Finally, a reasonable PC Suite version is now developed, but not compatible with Lumia?? Do we have to go through the whole waiting thing again? Why cannot Nokia look at this not as a software problem, but an expected functionality feature.

  • Nokia 3600 does not connect with isync.

In Mac's list of 'Supported mobile phones in Mac X 10.4, 10.5...', NOKIA 3600 is listed as compatible.
So I bought this phone. It prouves however impossible to synce. A dialog box says (tanslated from Dutch) 'not supported by isync'. Neither Bluetooth nor USB works. Shall I try to return my phone to the seller, or is there a solution?

In that case, uninstall all Nokia related software and drivers with Revo, clean the registry with Ccleaner. Reinstall the latest PC Suite, turn off antivirus during install. Reboot the PC. Start PC Suite and then connect the phone in PC Suite mode.

    Hello Everybody,
I have just switched to 3g services here in chennai, india(BSNL btw) and i am having issues with my 5800 to connect... If i select UMTS, there is no signal for the network, whereas if i select dual mode i get only GSM. I have tested the sim card on my n73 and 5700 and both work fine in 3g without any issues. I have an indian bought version of the 5800 and the product code is 0575590- RM-356
I have tried formatting my phone with *#7370# and reinstalling the firmware to no avail. My firmware version is v30 and i don't have an option to update it. Can you help me out here please? i am out of my mind and i do not know what to do. have been trying for 3 days now.
    Any suggestions or fixes?
    Thanks a million,

As I know, this is a country problem not a phone one
As I was told from expert, India uses a band of 800 mhz when 5800 uses 900,1800,1900,2100 (( three of them ))
so there is a problem with the networ, the phone isn't compitable with it

  • Nokia 6136 does NOT connect to WiFi: it's a joke!

I got the Nokia and it scanned and found my home WiFi network
When I click on ''Connect'' I get the error message ''Contact your Service Provider''
But WHY should I ask my service provider to use my own WiFi account??
Also, my service provider, like most other cell phone companies in the World, DON''T give out any UMA accounts yet!!
I don''t need the feature to transfer calls smoothly from WiFi to GSM; to use that I understand I need to contact a service provider for an UMA account
But why can I not make calls over my home or office WiFi network and use my own etnVoip SIP account ???
I specifically asked this question BEFORE I bought the Nokia 6136
I want to be able to call GSM -AND- to make WiFi calls
But I was told I could make calls over any open WiFi hotspot without any problems...
    Conclusion:
    I am screwed by Nokia
Connecting a Nokia 6136 to a free, open WiFi hotspot, it's most unique selling point, simply doesn't work
    A big disappointment!!!!
I will return the phone to the vendor asap

    Try This...
Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    If no joy...
    Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.

    Problem solved.
    Solution:
My antivirus was configured to scan SSL protocol but it's root certificate has expired.
In my case just an AV update solved. If it is not possible for you, you can possibly put  https://account.nokia.com/ in something like an "exclusion list" in your AV or FW.

  • Email not Syncing, not connecting, odd viewing

My email (hotmail and gmail) is completely out of touch with what has been done on the computer. Usually, the iPad cannot connect to either mail account using the Mail app, even though I can get into email with the iPad through Safari. Therefore, new mail is not on the iPad mail app, and, even if it has received new mail and is updated, none of what has been deleted is deleted on the iPad mail app. I read a similar problem (though not with inability to connect) posted a few weeks ago. None of those solutions work. Not all of the folders show up on iPad either. Help!

I've actually tried that several times. Just tried again, and now they won't reinstall! Says they can't connect to server (and various variations on the theme). This is hotmail and gmail we're talking about. And, since I can use the iPad to access both via Safari, that message doesn't make sense to me. I've had similar messages before, but it always eventually worked. This is getting really annoying! I bought Apple so that I could remain blissfully ignorant, so that I could have a product that just worked. HELP. Can I take this into an Apple store??
