Nokia PCS 6.84, IVT Bluesoleil 2.6.0.8 and VISTA

Hi Folks,
hoping you can help here please. I have just purchased a new VISTA Compatible Dongle and when installed PC Suite will not work over bluetooth. The connection manager shows "Bluetooth (IVT Blue Soleil)" but, when selected gives the message "Cannot use the connection type". Software details as follows:

Ah no I typed too soon. Although Microsoft Bluetooth Stack works fine with Nokia PC Suite, and it appears that this is the only bluetooth stack which Nokia support on VISTA, there is a cruel twist of fate:
Microsoft Bluetooth Stack does not support the handsfree and headset profiles so now my Bluetooth headsets will not work. Ironically, these work great on VISTA Stacks. So it appears that, until Nokia come to the party with support for Bluesoleil on Vista OR Microsoft come to the party with support for Handsfree and Headset profiles on their Vista Stack that its a choice for me of:
[1] Nokia Phone over Microsoft Bluetooth Stack
OR
[2] Bluetooth Headsets over Bluesoleil Bluetooth Stack
Should I moan to Microsoft or should I moan to Nokia seems to be the only decision I can make at this point in time.

hey people.
ive bought this USB - bluetooth dongle to synch up with my 6233. the package worked well enough for about an hour at which point i updated the driver & software package for my dongle & the whole thing fell apart. my dongle recognises my phone & my phone connects with my dongle. PC suite recognises nothing any mroe & in fact says "cannot use connection type. check all the necessary hardware & software is present". obviously, ive done this & yes i have drivers & a bluetooth dongle.
I have updated PC suite & ive searched through the forum looking for info on this problem. ive tried all the fixes that i have so far come across but nothing yet works.
i would really appreciate any help that people can offer.

Same problem. Bluetooth works for a while (read: once) then no outbound file transfer to phone possible (says connection lost).

Nokia PC Suite 7.1.30.9 won't install on Vista Ult...

Hi there,
I'm having a problem with Nokia PC Suite for my 6300 phone.
My phone IS NOT connected to the PC.
I've downloaded the latest version of the program.
My computer specs are more than enough.
Yet for some reason the install stops progress at 74%. The images below the install status bar continue to cycle but the bar has been at 74% for 2 hours now. I've tried the install on my work computer as well, also with similar specs and Vista Ultimate 64-bit with the same results. Install seems to hang at 74%. There is no error it just seems to hang.
Any advice??

Hi. I connect nokia 3120 classic to my computer and i select from phone: Printing & media and vista is installing driver... But its say: Failed. What is wrong?? Now i can't listen music what buyed from Nokia Music... I need make Printing & media mode working. What can make?? And sorry for my bad english i are from finland.

I just got an iphone 5s and now it wont connect to any of my windows 7 PCs, it just gets detected as an unknown device and is unable to be detected correctly. It was connected to one windows 7 pc about a week ago and worked but now I tested it on 2others

Hi, I see I haven't had any responses but these problems haven't been fixed.
I still haven't been able to transfer purchases from my phone to my comp so consequently have stopped purchasing on my phone.
I bought a couple of albums recently via itunes on my comp, and tried to tranfer them to my phone via a playlist, but the sync often crashes. One album transferred except for one song, and the other hasn't at all. What happens is that when I autofill from a playlist it often hangs for ages on the first song and then I have to quit the application altogether as nothing happens for ages. Basically, the whole Itunes software freezes.
After this I find it hasn't transferred any songs, but they do appear greyed out on my phone, which means it has transferred some basic data such as the titles, but not the song itself. When I try to repeat the process to complete the transfer Itunes tells me that it can't transfer because the songs are already on the phone, but they are not!! I can't click or remove on the greyed out items, so now I have a couple of almost full albums on my computer that I can't tranfer or install on my phone, and a whole bunch of greyed out songs on my phone that I can't play or remove!
The rest of the problems as above still stand. I downloaded the latest itunes OS updates but nothing's changed. I haven't done the very latest iphone update yet though because it says you need to make sure your stuff is backed up, and I don't want to lose the purchases I made on the phone that I can't transfer to my comp. I'm planning on uninstalling itunes completely and reinstalling but I have little faith that this will fix the issue.
Can someone please help at all?? I'm so sick of this!

Having upgraded to Vista, I have lost the ability to drag and drop text messages from the PC Suite Messages Folder to my PC which was my preferred manner of backing up the text messages, when I was using Windows XP as my platform. Is this facility available to Vista users, or will it be introduced with a later update of the Nokia PC Suite software.

I only discovered this with V6.84 - and because PC Suite has been such a b'stard in the past I assumed it was just a messed up installation (and not worth the effort of any attempt to uninstall/reinstall etc. etc. etc.) - but your experience confirms mine (Vista Home Premium); it probably installed OK and just doesn't work properly.
What REALLY hacks me off is that the PC Suite UI uses Windows Explorer Windows (or good simulacra - who can tell?), and to blithely ignore a standard aspect of UI operations is absolutely guaranteed to confuse and aggravate users - and absolutely criminal. How long did I spend trying to work out what was wrong - and to find a work-around? Too long.
I'm sure it worked before on Vista before (could be wrong though) - though I was *amazed* that whatever version I installed it did install correctly and connected to my 6230i...
If it is eventually fixed I will then have a dilemma: do I install the update to avoid the copy workaround aggravation or risk the whole installation collapsing into another Nokia information black-hole?

Nokia N8: I just can't get my Quick Office and PDF...

The installation log shows both these programs installed on 18/08/11 when I upgraded to Symbian Anna but their icons don't appear in my apps.
ACTION TAKE SO FAR
1) tried reinstalled firmware through Ovi suite - failed to have programs
2) advanced date on phone to 22/10/11 and using software update on phone... updates appeared for Symbian Anna 1/2 and 2/2 and installation appeared to take place. However, no icon for Quickoffice or PDF.
3) If I go to settings > application manager > installed apps then Adobe Reader LE version 10.00(245) is listed as being on C: phonememory and Quickoffice 6.04(460) on C: phonememory

QuickOffice and Reader Lite are included in the 1/2 additional software update, there is nothing for Nokia to put back, you need to get the additional updates installed.

Hello guys! I am a Nokia n8 user and I am pretty happy with it ( Wouldn't trade it for an Iphone ) . I am going in a trip soon and I would like to know if I can listen to Music on my N8 for around 6-7 hours without recharging. I am going to use Pioneer SE-M390 Headphones and I'd like to turn the volume very high ( Maybe Max ). Do you think my phone can handle it? I have recently deleted all widgets and turned off all background apps . With energy saving mode the phone survies decently a few days ( it simply stays unused ). Do you think I should better buy a MP3 Player? The ones I have been looking into are pretty expensive and I thought the phone might be good too since the sound is superb and has a lot of memory. Also during the camp I might be the "DJ" with the Radio FM transmitter. Plugged in with the charger would it be able to transmit continuously for 8 hours ( I dont want to burn it =D ). Further more I would also like to buy a MicroSD Card , a Sandisk Ultra 32gb ANDROID. What does the Android stand for? On Sandisk's site it says it is specially designed for Android phones. Does it mean I cannot use it with my N8 ( Belle OS ) ? I dont wanna spend 60$ for something useless. Some guys said I can "Format" the MicroSD to get rid of the "application for Android" located on the MicroSD. What do you think? Thanks!

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forum!
You will be able to listen to music on your N8 without charging for 6-7 hours, try not to use any other applications on your phone at the same time as this will drain the battery faster. For the best result, switch your phone to the Offline mode. You can do this by short pressing the power button and selecting Offline.
To ensure full compatibility, use an SD card with a minimum of Class 4 and a maximum of Class 6. The memory card limit is 32GB.
Playing music with the Radio FM transmitter for 8 hours in a row won't be a problem. The phone will heat up, but it won't damage the device. Do make sure you're using a Nokia charger to make sure it gets charged correctly.

iPads are absolutely compatible with Windows PCs. Through iTunes File Sharing you can transfer documents from supported apps to your computer. Most professors don't support iWork file formats, however iWork on the iPad can save in either iWork format or Microsoft Office format so you will be fine as long as you save it as an Office format.

My ipad mini does not find my Nokia bh-111 Bluetooth headset, yet all other devices do and pair without issue

Can't sign in to Nokia account via Nokia Suite

I am in Finland.
I can connect to my account from the phone (nokia 701Belle + updates) and I can also reach my account on internet, but it is not possible to have a connection through my Nokia Suite. Have tried it on my win8, win7 and vista, same result/problem.
It is not possible to make a new account in Nokia Suite.
Some weeks ago I have updated my f-secure on all maschines.

Nokia Suite connects to the server account.nokia.com and auth.gfx.ms. For these servers, SSL 3 was disabled on October 15th 2014. As of today, these servers require TLS 1.0. Nokia Suite does not use TLS 1.0 but only SSL 3, because Nokia Suite uses the QT framework 4.7.4. Up to that version, the QtNetwork class QSslSocket used SSL 3 and not TLS 1.0 as default protocol. You can test yourself via a terminal command and OpenSSL:
openssl s_client -connect account.nokia.com:443 -ssl3
which simulates the behaviour of the Nokia Suite. Therefore, the initial request of the Nokia Suite is rejected with a SSL/TLS handshake-failure. Because of that, Nokia Suite gives this wrong error message. Hopefully, Nokia enables SSL 3 again. Edit: added workarounds
1st Workaround – use another tool
If you skip the creation of an account and ignore that wrong error message, you are still able to use the Nokia Suite. Only these features need an account:

A) Software Recovery Tool (requires Windows 7 or newer; does full reset)
B) Nokia Software Updater (updates; does not work for devices since 2011)

A previous version of this workaround forgot the step of installing the ‘Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013’. Later, this step was added. As of today, this installation step is not required anymore because the DLL was updated and does not need that package anymore. If you still face an issue, report here in this thread! If everything works, please, just give kudos by clicking at that star on the right.

Compatibible bluetooth drivers for 6233?

I saw the sticky post with compatible drivers for 6233 and PC Suite. I wonder how accurate this information is today, it is contradicted by BlueSoleil and is quite old.
Is Nokia 6233 compatible with IVT Bluesoleil driver 2.4.10.0?

Sorry that didn't work.
As you can see from the system requirements tab on the driver, that hardware ID is supported by the driver, so I have no idea why it didn't work.

Install of nokia suite 6_86_9_3 on Win XP (Japanes...

Tried to install nokia suite on japanese version of Win Xp on Toshiba DynaBook. The install fails.
It produces an error message after some time effectively stating that "can not install on this operating system".
I have tried both english and japanese version of the suite. Same problem. :-(
Can anyone advise what is that the suite does not like and what can be doen about that. Cheers.
