What models of nokia support text to speech software ?Should the software be installed in the phone memory or on the memory card? What site do I download the text to speech software from? My budget is around Rs 7000

Any Nokia phones with Threaded Text messaging?

I'm looking for a Nokia phone with threaded text messaging.
Rather like the Palm Centro or Iphone:
Anyone know of a basic model that can do it?
I'm currently lusting after the Nokia 3720 Classic and would love if it could organise messages in a more useful way, and banish my thoughts of bulkier handsets. I've loved my Nokia 6030 for a few years but its disintergrating now.

You are as far as you can be with the original iPad; only iPad 2 and greater will update to 7+

Contact your provider and see if they have a means to do this. It can be done for a cost with AT&T.

Can you turn off phone calls and texts??

I am traveling to Buenos Aires from the United States for a minimester.. I called my cellular carrier and they do not have a plan to save me money in regards to phone calls and texts. I have the app What'sApp so I can use a data plan they offered me to keep in contact while I am way, however I am still afraid of racking up charges in texts and phone calls. Is there any possible way to turn off phone calls and text and strictly use the data plan they have given me?
I have the iPhone 5. Thank you.

FYI, that won't work. AirPlane disables all radio communications.
The best way to do this is to divert all calls.
Go to Settings
Phone
call forwarding and switch to O
Type in your carriers default voicemail number. Because it is the default number for voicemail is an exception in their list you won't be charged for the diversion.
remember to switch this off when you get back.
Then go to messages turn off send as SMS and MMS.
That should avoid most of the charges. Its inevitable that you'll get some but hopefully if you're careful it will be minimal.
Have you thought of using a local sim while you're there, you're iMessage will still work and your home SIM and account will be inactive so you won't get any unforseen chardges?

N95 and text-to-speech

Is there a speech-to-text engine for N95? I downloaded the Russian lg pack from the Nokia site but having installed them they fail to appear on the menu.
Another question: today at a lecture I used my n95 to make notes. It works, but would work even faster if I could make a user dictionary of my own. IE turn a text on a given topic into a user dictionary so that the predictive editor would not need my additions when I write.

Not funny actual... On 6290 that cost about 300 euro has preinstalled text-to-speech, but on top modeles that has cost 500-600 euro - it's absent!!! And no way to install like free nokia software this application!
Nokia may down to outsider on smartphone market line if still to this marketing way...

Does Nokia 515 have TTS (Text-to-Speech)?

Hi,
my friend who lost 90% of his eyesight is an avid Nokia user.
He has been using E52 phone for many years mainly for it Text-to-Speech option which allowed him to use a cellular phone at all. (for those who do not know - the phone reads sms, menus, contacts etc.)
Recently, company he is working at, offered him a phone replacement so he asked for a newer Nokia phone that is similar to E52 functionality-wise. They got him Nokia 515. Although it offers most of the E52 stuff it looks like this model doesn't have Text-to-Speech support in the system. Is there any way he can enable TTS on this new phone? Or is there maybe any App in the Ovi Store that would offer such functionality?
If not than maybe there is some different modern Nokia phone (but without a touch screen) that supports visually impaired people in such way E52 did?

Nokia 515 uses as operating system Nokia Series 40.
Nokia E52 uses as operating system Nokia Symbian/S60.
I am neither aware of any solution via the Nokia Store, nor newer models than the Nokia C5-00 5MP. Technically compared to your Nokia E52, this is a step back because it does not offer Wi-Fi.

Phone freezing and almost unusable since software update - Help!

I am hoping someone can help. I have a Blackberry Q10 (work phone) and yesterday i downloaded the software update. I didnt notice any issues but when it rebooted it just froze on the home screen (i can see the time /wallpaper etc but cannot make any swipe gestures to move from this screen) I have tried re-booting/taking the battery out etc. I left the battery out last night and this morning plugged the phone into my laptop- that did occasionally free up the swipe function and i can occasionally get into BBM and Text (which are both working) but I can no longer view my email (i can see them in the hub but not read the actual message) and i cannot access my contacts or make or receive any calls. The phone still keeps freezing on the home page (it seems to free up momentarily if i connect to my laptop). the battery is draining very fast also. I am not very tech savvy at all, can anyone help me? (my phone provider is BT) Thanks N

What is the best text to speech software for mac, one that hi-lights the word as it reads?

I have an iMac using OSX 10.9.5. I am looking for a good text to speech app or software. I want one that hi-lilghts the words as it reads and with editing tools if possible.

Dear Nokia Support,
I own a Nokia Asha 200 and Nokia Asha 201, two very nice and good phones, however, I have updated my phones today to the latest Software Version 11.81. I have done the update as instructed by the Nokia Suite and did not pay any attention to the Windows Warnings given, as instructed by the Nokia Suite.
We'll, whilst updating the phone, I noticed that Windows gave the following warning "Hardware ID missing, contact manufacturer", as stated by the Nokia Suite I did not pay any attention to this warning and let the program continue to update my Nokia Asha 200 and Asha 201.
After the update, which was succesful (the phones updated and restarted as usual) but, some applications are missing, here is a list of the missing stuff:
- Store
- Social
- all non-removable games (in games)
- all non-removable apps (in my apps), like: converter, introduction, size converter, tips and offers, world clock)
Next to that, I can remember that all apps are in an alphabetical order, now they are scrabled (no such a big issue though), more importantly the missing apps and games.
I use nokia for a really long time, like 25 years or so, I know that software updates can be a bit naggy now and then, but I never had this kind of an issue.
Any ideas, tips or tricks Nokia Support?
PS: i did a factory reset (via the phone) after the restart it still was the same, a second "update" also did not help.
I hope I am not the only one with these issues and look forward to any helpful reply.

The Nokia Asha 201 is not a Dual Sim. Look at the User Guide here.
Otherwise, the Nokia Asha 200 is a Dual Sim. You will find all the specifications here.

I was trying to update the software, and ended up reseting to its original factory settings. Lost all my contacts and text messages, Is there any way that I can recover all that info and go back to my previous settins?

if you are using your iPhone as recommended, contacts are synched to a supported contact manager like Outlook, or with a cloud service like MobileMe or Google. You can just resynch those contacts.
Text messages are backed up every time you synch, so you can try and restore from your most recent backup. However, any new texts sent/received since the last backup are lost.

Turning off work phone calls and text

Hi I wonder if anyone can help please. I use my phone for business and personal calls but find it infuriating when work colleagues telephone during periods when I'm not working. Is there any way that I can turn off a group of work contacts so that their calls go to voicemail during certain periods and store their texts just as if it would if I turned the whole phone off? I want to be able to have personal calls and texts coming through to me but just can't find a way to send the work calls to voicemail.
If someone could help please I will be eternally grateful. I am ready to purchase the new Blackberry Classic as long as there is a feature like this that I can use.

What you can do is on each business contact you can set the notifications to silent. So you would hear phone calls/texts from your private friends but not from your work colleagues.
It is not possible to redirect certain contacts to voice mail, that would be a carrier function.
