Nokia phones that record date, time, positioning e...

Hello,
I was wondering if Nokia intends to produce phones that record everything (date, time, positioning of the phone owner and also all the events happening with the device itself.Thank you.

some of these services are being worked on right now and integrated into applications i think. i.e check Nokia BetaLabs for details: betalabs.nokia.com   I think some of these applications use GPS in nokia friend view to tell where you are, date and time, everything you are asking for basically.
If you found this or someone's comments helpful or like what that person has to say, please give some Kudos to their post!

    Hi should my 625 lose the date & time settings when the battery goes flat -  mines done it twice now only had the phone since last wednesday

    Why I am asking this question is my Nokia 6600 fold went faulty (see note below about this) and has been replaced by O2 with a Nokia 6700 slide. Now I don't like slide phones so I bought a 7020 fold on eBay.
    What I am looking for is an adapter for these phones (each have 2.5 mm AV connector) that will allow me to connect my noise cancelling headphone's 3.5 mm jack to (I was able to do this on the adapter that came with my 6600 fold phone).
    I googled and found that one option may be the Nokia AD-44 but I am not sure it will work with either the Nokia 6700 slide or 7020 fold.
    So my question, is there a list somewhere of Nokia phones that the AD-44 adapter will work with?
    Note: the faulty Nokia 6600 fold phone was a replacement for the original Nokia 6600 fold phone and both have had the well documented 'm, n, o' problem when sending a message that locked the phone and all that could be done was to power off!

    Hi there,
    I managed to find an old list of compatibility with HS-44 / AD-44 but nothing for the adaptor on it's own.
    Nokia 3600 Slide
    Nokia 3710 Fold
    Nokia 3720 Classic

    Nokia 6700 Slide
    Nokia 6730 Classic
    Nokia 7610 Supernova
    Nokia E66
    Nokia E71
    Nokia E90
    I can't promise this is ALL th ehandsets though, since the list is quite old. Also I am almost certain that this adaptor converts Nokia 2.5mm to Nokia 3.5mm, Nokia connectors are different to a standard headphone as there is an additional connection for voice.
    If using non -Nokia headphones you may need a further adaptor.
    Hope this helps a little?

  • How to reduce reading and recording data time/ Visual C++, PCI 6024E and PCI-MIO-16E?

    Right now I am working on a data communication programme. The time of reading digital signal and recording data is more than I expected, which is about 100 microsecond. I need to reduce the time. The software I am using is Visual C++ 6.0. I use two DAQ boards, which are PCI-6024E and PCI-MIO-16E. I have set the priority of Visual C++ to be realtime by task manager. The operating systme is Windows XP.
    I am wondering how to set the interrupt of reading or writing data to be the highest and stop any other kind of interrupt.
    Thanks in advance!

    The primary limitation you will encounter when trying to do high speed
    digital I/O using your E-Series hardware is that the digital lines are
    all software timed.  This means that for each and every digital
    read it is necessary for your software to issue a command to your
    hardware, read a single point, then receive the response from the
    board.  This prevents you from performing digital operations at
    very high speed.  In general, I would say that 100 microseconds is
    a very good response using software-timed digital I/O on a Windows
    computer.
    It is difficult to make a good recommendation without more detail about
    what you are trying to do.  You may need to consider switching to
    a Real-Time operating system, or upgrading your DAQ hardware to a board
    that will allow you to time your digital acquisitions on the board
    itself.  These devices, such as the m-Series DAQ or the PCI-653x
    series, would allow you to use hardware triggers for your digital
    acquisitions, change detection, and buffered data acquisitions to
    reduce the software overhead involved in a rapid acquisition.

  • Premiere Pro - synchronize video clips according to recording date/time

    The issue - no way to sync clips via recdate/time. No way to sync clips that have no timecode crossing on timeline.
    And no possibility to sync an optional number of clips - i have to select 1 clip per track.
    It would be nice to have a placement mode 'Rec date/time' in 'Project->Automate to sequence' function, or/and other synchronization tool.

    Barry Green at dvxuser:
    http://dvxuser.com/articles/sync/
    And the cameras will stay in sync as long as you don’t turn one of them off, or change between CAMERA and VCR modes.
    And again(russian site):
    However, be aware that sync may drift slightly between the cameras throughout the day, and if you turn off one of the cameras, change batteries, or switch a camera to VCR mode, that can briefly interrupt the flow of timecode.
    The Red users have to use tc generator or re-sync camera with sound recorder after battery change in order to have correct timecode. http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=18029&page=2
    Could a future version of RED be built to hold time code during battery changes? (Please???)
    The major problem is not camera or hardware-based.

  • How to save record date/time from camcorder as subtitle or text overlay

    DV camcorders record information on the tape with the date and time when each frame was recorded. How can I save this information so that it ends up as a subtitle on the DVD or as an overlay on the video? I don't want to lose this information. I would think many people want to remember when they took pictures of their kids to they can figure out how old they were. I haven't found a way to do it. Would never have believed it would be so hard.
    iMovie uses this information to split up clips. You can also view the date and time when getting information about a clip, but it ends up being lost when creating a movie or DVD.
    I've suggested this as an enhancement to iLife, but I doubt they will implement it.

    I've suggested this as an enhancement to iLife, but I doubt they will implement it.
    I asked two 'makers' of plug-ins, Bruce from geethree.com and Christian from imovieplugins.com: both confirmed, the info IS inside the dv-streams you import from your camera (select clip, hit Apple-I ...), but it is actually impossible to 'program' with this info.. (they spoke of a missing API.. me no programmer, ??? )
    so, only way: read out info manually and type timestamp in some nice 'title' effect...
    ok, there's a 'hard way': set camcorder to display timestamp while playback and re-record to a second camcorder via analogue-connection... no, I prefer titles ;-))

  • IPhone upgrade to 3.1.2. resets date time - no daylight saving

    I upgraded my iPhone 3GS to the new OS: 3.1.2 recently. I noticed the date & time were reset to some time way in the past so I reset them to the current date & time. I notice now there's no way in the Settings | General |Date & Time to automatically have the date & time synced with your PC and the iPhone doesn't take allowance of daylight saving time - I added London as a city for keeping track of my time and the Clock shows it as 10 hours behind Sydney time rather than 11, which would be the case if Sydney was set at daylight saving time.
    Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get my iPhone to recognise daylight saving time again? I can't see anywhere on the iPhone or iTunes to do it, I've tried resetting my iPhone. Nothing is working.

    I don't see a DST option either. I assume that Set Date & Time automatically did set from the phone network and that would include DST corrections. Mine is correct now and we are on DST here. Manual says:
    "Set whether iPhone updates the date and time automatically: Choose General > Date & Time and turn Set Automatically on or off.
    If iPhone is set to update the time automatically, it gets the correct time over the cellular network, and updates it for the time zone you’re in.
    Some carriers don’t support network time in all locations. If you’re traveling, iPhone may not be able to automatically set the local time."

    Can someone tell me which Nokia phones that have a phyisical numberpad/keyboard have the free full versions of the Ovi maps with satellite turn by turn navigation
    It's for the wife - she can get used to touch screen - hates Android and Apple + loves Nokia!
    I've searched and am unsure - there seem to be some models that in some specs have the navigation and in other simply don't (or not explicitly stated)! I can't remember the exact model names now
    Any pointers to the correct phones would be great
    + I would add that it doesn't have to be a 'smart phone' - I'mjust after the turn by turn navigation (and be able to make calls of course!)
    Thanks

    @omarm2
    Be aware that any of the S60 3rd FP2 devices such as C5-00 or E72 although having free voice navigation are limited to Ovi Maps v3.04 with slightly less detailed map data than devices able to use v3.06 & 3.08.

  • Retaining date/time when capturing from miniDV camcorder in PRE8

    Has anyone a solution to the following problems observed when capturing
    video/audio from a miniDV camcorder with Premiere Elements 8:
    1) Even if "Split Scenes" is deselected in the capture dialog box - the captured video IS split into separate .avi files
    2) When inspecting the .avi file metadata only the date is captured correctly from DV - time is always 23:00Z...?  I have used other capture tools to verify that correct date/time is actually available in the captured video.

  • Removing a mailbox expiration date/time

    Anyone know what value to specify to remove a mailbox expiration date/time?
    If I remove the value via C1, then the value returned by the Admin API as a
    64 bit real number is 0 representing 30/12/1899 0:0:0. However, setting this
    value results in C1 displaying an expiration date/time in 1943. What does
    work on my system (GW 7.0.3) is to specify 1-Jan-1970 13:00:00 but that does
    not work on other systems, possibly suggesting the value to specify is
    timezone dependent, although experimentation along those lines has so far
    proved unsuccessful.
    TIA, John

    I did eventually get an answer from Novell on this. Removing a mailbox
    expiration date has not been supported, but supposedly is from 8.0 SP1
    onwards where a value of zero should do the job.

  • Date Time Original different in Lightroom and Bridge

    Why is it that the Date Time Original in Lightroom is affected by whatever time zone the PC is set to? This is not the case in Bridge.
    Example:
    I fly from San Francisco to Washington DC and set my notebook's time zone from Pacific Time to Eastern Time upon arrival. I also make the necessary adjustment to the Time on my camera. I shoot a photo at 6pm in Washington DC, upload it to my notebook and import it into Lightroom. Lightroom shows a Date Time Original of 6pm. So does Bridge. So far so good.
    I return back to San Francisco and set my notebook's time zone back to Pacific Time. In Lightroom, the Date Time Original of that photo is now 3pm. In Bridge, it still gives a Date Time Original of 6pm.
    Confusing? Yes, especially when traveling across lots of different time zones. In some cases, the Date Time Original will change not only the time, but the Date as well (if the change crosses midnight).
    Try it for yourself. Take a look at the Date Time Original of any given photo in Lightroom, change the Time Zone on your PC, and see the Time change for yourself.
    Since Bridge and Lightroom are both Adobe products, I have to wonder why they display EXIF times differently. Is this a bug? Or intentional?

    I have been als been plagued by LR displaying the capture time to be, say 3 AM (03:00), when I know I took the picture at 1 PM (13:00). I decided to try and see why this happens. With the help of Phil Harvey's exiftool, I can see that my Canon cameras embed the time into the EXIF data without any time zone information i.e.: Date/Time Taken = 2008:04:02 16:09:23.
    Here is what I found:
    If the image is now edited with Bridge, the information is changed to: Date/Time Taken = 2008:04:02 16:09:23-08:00 (time zone of the editing computer for the date the image was made. In this case the date was before daylight savings time started.)
    When edited with GeoSetter (good for adding GPS information) the information is changed to: Date/Time Taken = 2008:04:02 16:09:23+02:00 (time zone for Cairo where the picture was taken.)
    Lastly edited with LR, the information is changed to: Date/Time Taken = 2008:04:02 16:09:23-08:00
    When the above images are viewed in LR, using PDT, they display the time as 17:09:23 except for the image tagged with the Cairo time, which displays 07:09:23. If the computer's time zone is changed the displayed time changes accordingly.
    If the images are displayed with Photoshop CS3 all the times are correctly displayed as 16:09:23 as one would expect.
    It appears that the factoring in of the time zone into the displayed time was a conscious decision by the Adobe designers. A decision that several of us are not happy with.

  • External content based SharePoint list date/time information wrong

    So, we have a SQL Server database that contains date/time type data.
    When we look at the info in the database, the date and times appear to be in GMT, which is 5 hours before our time.
    So, we set up views with a DATEADD calculation to compensate for the difference. When we use the view, the dates and times match our timezone info.
    We then set up an external content to our view.
    When the data is displayed in rows and columns, we see times that are 10 hours before GMT.
    We had put in the dateadd calculations because when we had scripts that grabbed the data from SQL Server and put them into text files, the dates and times were all 5 hours off.
    Is there code within the External data connectors (or SharePoint itself) which compensate for the time zones?
    Thanks!

    Hi Iwvirden,
    When you create an External Content Type and External List using the SharePoint Designer, DateTime fields are normalized to UTC using the NormalizeDateTimesetting
    associated with the TypeDescriptor for the DateTime field. This leads to the date field wrong in Business
    Connectivity Services.
    To fix this issue, you can change the normalization to use local time as follows:
    <TypeDescriptor TypeName="System.DateTime"
    Name="DueDate" DefaultDisplayName="Due Date">
    <Interpretation>
    <NormalizeDateTime LobDateTimeMode="Local" />
    </Interpretation>
    </TypeDescriptor>
