Nokia photo transfer for Mac Yosemite OS

Hi,
It seems that Nokia Photo Transfer does not work in the Mac Yosemite OS – at least it does not find my Lumia 1020. Is there any chance of getting an update – or is there any other way to transfer photos speedily by a USB cable from Lumia to Mac?
Cheers,
Ilkka

@Ilkko Photo Transfer 1.2.31 works with my OS X v10.10.2 and my Lumia 1520 phone with Lumia Denim as firmware. I attached the Lumia before I started Photo Transfer. Then, Photo Transfer asked me to unlock the password protected screen. Do you face any error message? We need that word for word.
If you do not face any error message, please, enbale (tick) Photo Transfer » Menu » File » Enable Logs. Then, go for Finder » Menu » Utilities » Console (left hand side, All Messages). Anything specific there? You are able to copy and paste it here.
If nothing is displayed in OS X Console either, please, go for Menu » Apple » About this Mac » More Info » System Report » (Hardware) USB: Is your ‘Lumia 1020 (RM-87x)’ listed there? Via System Information » Menu » File » Refresh Information, you are able to detach and attach your device, while double-checking the displayed information.
If your phone is not shown in System Information, did it work before? Which operating system and version?
If your phone is shown in System Information, please, we have to go for the USB Prober. However, because I have not tested that app on Yosemite v10.10 my self either, please, answer the above questions. Then, I look into that path here in more detail and give you an explaination what to do.

  • Blog photo transfer for Mac

On the Google blog site there is offered a free download enabling transfer of photos to a URL, from which it can then be placed in a blog. As per usual, it works for Windows only.
Does anybody know if there is such a "service" offered anywhere for blogs on a Mac using Safari?

  • Nokia e7 and multimedia transfer for mac

i have nokia e7 , and i want to transfer my multi media file to my macbook pro. the website are recommend me to use a multimedia transfer for mac. i download it and i find that my mac can not be paired with e7. is it because i do it wrong or is nokia multimedia transfer for mac does not support for e7 ?
thank you so much for letting me know about the solution for this problem

Well I have no one to blame because I'm not a Mac user, but with the number of complaints I would say Nokia, don't have the technical knowledge, but I can't imagine it would be a major problem to get some compatibility with a Mac via Ovi suite, also as the E7 is virtually identical software wise to N8, and anything 'N8' I've put on mine has worked, it should be compatible with Ovi for Mac, surely not a major coding issue ?

  • Want to use an iPod photo configurated for Mac on a PC

I want to use my old iPod photo (configurated for Mac) on a PC (but do not need to keep my songs and photos). Is this possible? If so, what do I do?
    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   iPod 5th generation 60 GB

If your iPod is formatted for Mac it won't run natively on a PC because the Windows OS does not support the HFS Plus file system and therefore will not see the drive. Macs can read Windows drives so you could restore and format the iPod on a PC, this would also mean any future software updates would have to be done on Windows. This will erase your drive so you need to have your songs and photos backed up. Alternatively there are third party programs that will allow you to use a Mac formatted iPod on Windows, this is one for instance gets good reviews and has the functionality to let you copy content from the iPod to the PC. Not sure if it does photos but have a look: XPlay 2
You can read another user's experience of using XPlay at this link: iPod on Mac and Windows

  • Photo's for Mac - Drag/Drop issue

I used to be able to drag and drop photos from iPhotos to Photobucket and it won't let me now since the upgrade to Photo's for Mac. Does anyone know why and is this just a bug that will be fixed in time?

'Why' questions are ones that only Apple can answer.
    Try use the Media Browser.

  • How do I change a bad location in the new photos app for Mac?

I am not sure why but hundreds of my photos have the wrong location stored for them. Is there any easy way to change them in the new Photos app for mac?
    Thanks

You can't at the present time.  There's no such capability in the current version of Photos.
Tell Apple what additional features you want in Photos via both http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html and http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html  since they don't have a feedback page for Photos as yet.

  • My photo stream folder in new Photos app for Mac

i tried to use and understand the new photos app for mac, and found that my photo stream folder is continuously hide (I didn't set my photos in the app to store to iCloud library), i don't know if this is a bug or something, the only way to fix the problem is to go to preferences and uncheck and recheck the photostream
anyone has the same problem? or how to fix this problem permanently?

At that size, what copied over is just the reference to the video file, not the video itself. Some suggestions:
    1. In iPhoto, select the video, then in the File menu select Reveal in Finder. If this finds the original file, add it manually to Photos.
    2. Perform a Spotlight search for the video file title/name. If found, move to Photos.
    3. If you imported or modified the files in iMovie, launch it and find/export the originals from there.

  • Appropriate media transfer for mac app wont open o...

Nokia media transfer application for "mac osx 10.4.11 and later" cannot be opened. My OSX 10.4.11 will not allow me to open the downloaded app. claiming I "cannot use this application with this version of MAC OS X" although it is supposedly adequate. Please help! My phone is a N85

I now have the 1.3 version, for some reason the USB connection cant find the device which is strange as it is a new cable, and it does charge my phone.
Anyway I am trying to transfer my photos using bluetooth, but i-photo says the files on my mobile are unreadable.
Any ideas as to what is going on?

Now apple added this new photos app and i don't really understand what is it meant for? can someone please explain me the difference? I'm very confused about the purposes of both apps....
Photos is a completely new designed photo application, designed for Yosemite and the MacOS X versions to come. Many differences are under the hood. It uses the new system libraries and frameworks for more efficient image processing on the new powerful macs, like the mac pro, it is extensible by app extensions, if other developers will add functionality, and most important, it brings integration with iCloud Photo Library. With Photos you can store your photo library in iCloud and sync it across all devices.
Some features are still missing however, and you can continue to use iPhoto, if you like. Or create a small Photos library for testing and explore Photos, while keeping your main libraries in iPhoto.

  • Photo transfer for 5D mark II  and macbook I pad2

I have canon 5D mark II iwant to tranferto apple loptap o a pad right a way what program i need?

To transfer photos from your camera to your iPad use the Camera Connection Kit that is available from the Apple Store. I transfer photos all the time from my 5D MKII to my iPad for review and basic editing.
To transfer photos from the camera to my Mac I use DPP which is the software that came with your camera.
If you want to view the photos on your mac that you are shooting you use the EOS Utility that also came with your camera. This is called tethering.
Depending on Eric you have updated your Mac's operating system since you purchased your camera, you might have to visit Canon's website to update the DPP and EOS Utility software that came on the CD with your camera.
To tether your camera to your iPad is more difficult. I mentioned something to try in your other post on this topic.

    @chelsie
There are basically 2 applications for Mac.
    1. Nokia Multimedia Transfer: using this app you can transfer pictures, music, videos and bookmarks from your device -mac and vice versa. Music and videos transfer go through the Itunes library, so this app acts as a path provider for trasnfer.
    2. Isync Plugin: This helps in transferring your contacts ans calendar only.
Both the application can be found here

    All the best
