Hi nbulp,
As Nokia photos 1.5 is in beta (as discussed in other forums), once its available to all users we will hope this kind of issues will be fixed, since, MMS is not opening in Nokia photos should be fixed as this is much needed feature ... So hopefully we can wait for some more time till it reaches its release to the users. I have Nokia photos 1.3.15.0 installed on my PC. Its better to install the applications once it reaches in public for all. So it doesnot mean we should not test beta applications, its great intiative from you to test and report it to concern team (for beta) regarding your issue. The more issues reported on beta will enhance the product relases with less number of issues. Good you have discussed Nokia photos issues with the forum Best of luck

  • Nokia Photos wont open/load. help! (Event Details...

    Hey guys!
First off, I really, really need this data to be recovered so any help would be appreciated....ok so....
In short: I have a n95 8gb. I store texts, messages, etc on Lifeblog/Photos.  I was using Nokia Lifeblog until they made us download Nokia Photos. Since then I've used Nokia Photos.  Now apparently Ovi's the new thing and Photos support ended.
When I open Photos, nothing happens after the splashscreen.  I've tried installing the latest version; didnt work. I restored it back to the old.  Here is the Windows Event Log.  I run Windows XP Pro SP 3.  Please help me figure out what this means and how to fix it..
Thank you in advance!  Any help in helping me to find the destination files for the  text messages or opening the program with be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately the above was probably the incriminating factor for this Belle device and you may well find that you need to have software completely re-furbished at Nokia Care Point to return device to "Out of box" state.
There is a big difference between Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 from Nokia Beta Labs which took away a big chunk of free phone memory but could be removed if wanted and the production release which binds itself into device software and can't!

  • Nokia e71 - cannot open folders

    Hi every1
today i installed a bluthtooth tool on my e71
i installed it onto my memory card
now for some reason i cannot open folders, instead, when i open then, it opens programs, eg: GPS folder will open soliaire, tools folder will open a car game etc
when my memory card is not in the phone, it works fine as per normal
has any1 seen this before? how does 1 overcome this annoying problem?
    kind regards,
    adam

Thanks for the "silly" tip...I changed the "double click speed" from medium to fast and nothing opened without going to "open"....seeing your message i tried moving the double click speed back to middle and the problem was instantly repaired...I just hate that the solutions can be soooo simple...thanks and remember...in computing...no idea is "silly"...LLLL

  • I photo cannot open because of problem

this is the message i get when rying to open i photo on my macbook pro how can this be resolved apple suggests purchasing newest version of iphoto?

    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

  • Nokia 5800: cannot open messages, error when start...

In the last day, I've had an issue with my 5800 whereby when a new text message arrives, I am not able to open it fully. It seems stuck in the inbox. This has happened about 3 times.
I restarted the phone and got this message:
"Unable to install from memory card. Go to application manager" (or something like that).
I went to the application manager, but there was nothing in there.
When I went back to the messages inbox, all messages (inbox, draft, sent) were gone.
I've tried changing back and forth between the phone (C and memory card (E drives, but nothing is showing.
Any advice would be more than helpful. Thanks.

Hi, may also help if once you've cleared all messages if you go to options in messaging and select other, memory in use; select E:Mass memory, or F: Memory Card . Sorry if you're already aware of this, but it does help, also , after using usb cable always check this setting as , for some unknown reason, phone reverts to C, after being connected to computer! If there are messages you may need, sync with ovi, before deleteing. Hope this helps.
    Good Luck

    Hi,
I too have recently purchased an N95 8GB and have tried using the latest Nokia Photo Software.
I have downloaded the latest version from the website only yesterday (19th July 2008 - Version 1.2.50.00) along with the latest version of the PC Suite Software (Version 7.0.7.0). The software appeared to open fine, and started to import all 23,000 items from my previous Lifeblog Software. When it eventually finished it said it had encountered errors and then listed them, and then another error occured stating that a more detailed report was in the Windows Error log, and closed the program.
I have tried reinstalling the program, running reg scans to completely remove it, and have even renamed my lifeblog database however still loads the old import and then crashes with the same issue. Error log in Event Viewer is as follows.
The description for Event ID ( 100 ) in Source ( Nokia Photos ) cannot be found. • Nokia photos configure paths

I migrate from lifeblog to nokia photos recently.
First impressions are good no matters some minors trouble I had.
Now I wants to manage confuguration tu use it in a little bit specific way.
What I need to know is:
Where nokia photos stores sms/mms/notes ?
Where nokia photos stores information about paths to the folders (pictures/clips)
I thought this infos are in NokiaPhotos/...*.db3 files but seems to me that I'm wrong about it.
I want to use Nokia photos on two computers in following scenario:
I have on both computers network drive mapped as l: in which I have l:\photos and l:\clips and I manage to setup one computer tha t use those foledrs for nokia photos and imported/linked data in it in nokia photos.
Now I tried on other computer just to copy db3 files and when I open nokia photos to have same data (images/clips/sms...) as on first computer.
But this is not the case.
I see same situations on second computer that I had before I copied db3 files so that confused me a little bit.
Idealy I would want to have all private data on that l: drive and use it form nokia photos on 2 computers (not at the same time off course)
What can i do about that?
Change some config files? registry keys? Anything please ?

Thank you for your reply cricfancy
I know about File -> Tools -> Settings -> Synchronisation -> Location for images
But this is to set default folders when synhronizing.
What I needed is where photes stored data for pictures that are already imported in nokia photos (which can be anywhere on the disk...)
I think that I m sure now that this infos is in NokiaPhotos/.../MDataStore.db3
    and Nokia Data Store/.../MDataStore.db3 files
When I copied those two folders to notebook and map l: disk to same folder with pictures and videos (sms, notes etc.. are in those MDataStore.db3 files for what I know)
This "sync only once" thing is good to know anyway but if I would have a way to put Nokia Data Store and NokiaPhotos folders to that L drive and tell NokiaPhotos on both computers "This is where your mdb3 files are!" that would be great.
I didnt need to sync more then once. When I sync from one computer that will apear on the other computer as well. As long as they have access to L drive ofcourse.
All I have to do is to make sure not too run nokia photos on both computers at the same time.
Unfortunately I dont see how to do that.
Ok this is not in the interface and I respect that decision because this isn't thing that most users will do so why confused them...
But this isnt in the registry or config files either so those users who need to change that and are let say litle advanced or enthusiastic cant change that either.
As far I see those paths are hardcoded in dll files so this isn't easy or legal to change those paths
Any solution that I had so far to use some sync. program to sync those folders between computers.
If someone have solution for this please let me know.
If you can put those settings to the next version of Nokia Photos will be great too.

  • Nokia Photos - Is anybody still using it?

More and more people think Ovi Suite has lost its focus - to become the main software to manage a Nokia phone. I do not know what went wrong with it - perhaps the need to create a software that is simple to configure/use, comparing to Nokia PC Suite, but it's clear to me, this is not what Ovi Suite is...
Although, I admit that using Nokia software was not always so frustrating: I do remember how I felt when I first used Nokia Lifeblog - later it became Nokia Photos. I had paid in order to use it when it came out - still, I have no remorse for it - because the idea of managing your phone content over a timeline was amazing! When Nokia Lifeblog was replaced with Nokia Photos, for a moment I thought that's it; I would not be able to manage my phone's content anymore. Nevertheless, the misleading name, had nothing to do with what the software was offering...
Today, a friend suggested to see KIN.com - I was amazed with KIN Studio - a Nokia Lifeblog/Nokia Photo replica in Silverlight, that is offered for Windows Mobile powered phones. It looks like that Microsoft found the "phone content over timeline" idea more interesting, and they are investing on it - Nokia that originally come up with the idea is done with it, as Nokia Photos is an "archived" application!
Is anybody still using Nokia Photos? Does anyone think that the "phone content over timeline" idea should be something Nokia should be invest on, and this would be the idea to use for a software like Ovi Suite?
    Regards,
    George J.

    Hey George,
I like the concept but, like everything else Nokia does, its just poor execution.  They started Lifeblog, ok cool. Then came Photos; ok same concept. Now they've completely ditched Photos and gone to Ovi suite.  They dont get the fact that people want to archive there data, not just switch to the latest gimmick.  At least offer an effective way to smoothly transfer data.  Argh!! so frustrating!
I have my earlier data on Lifeblog and my latest data on Photos (thank god I didn't merge the two).  Photos wont open anymore  And Nokia is pathetically useless in the matter.  There market share worldwide will diminish pretty soon, thanks to Google and Apple
Here's the post with my issue:

  • Cannot receive MMS on wifi with data off, and data...

Had my lumia 820 for about a fortnight, and it's already eaten through a months worth of data, something my iphone 3gs rarely did. My usage hasn't changed, could anyone know why this could be? Ive got the phone set to 3G instead of the 4g that it's capable of. I dont turn off data unless i have to, due to conveniance, and the assumption if i have nothing open, it wont be pulling any data. (I know you can disable background apps, and i have for all except tumblr, which stops working if i do)
The other issue is that when I'm connected to wifi and have data off, I cannot open MMS's. Is that a phone connection vs internet issue or a glitch in the phone? Its a little frustrating having to delve into settings every time someone sends me a picture message!
Any advice or tips appreciated, apologies if i'm duplicating another thread.
    H

Could the extra data usage be due to you downloading apps and map data which in most cases will only be a once off. See how it goes over the next few weeks after the initial setup and as usage goes back to normal.
Data needs to be on to receive or send MMS. You will find this to be an operator issue. The operator obviously wants you to use their network when accessing your MMS.

  • Nokia Photos cant synchronize with my N95

    Hi all
I used to use Nokia Lifeblog extensively to organize my multimedia from my N95 into my PC, but ever since I updated Nokia Lifeblog to Nokia Photos, the program gives an error when i try to synchronize any new media from my phone....Can any1 suggest wat to do? Can i reinstall Nokia Lifeblog on my phone in any way? The exact error it gives is:
Nokia Photos encountered synchronizing ur Nokia device and PC. Check the connection and start again. If the problem persists, restrt Nokia Photos and try again.
I tried reinstalling Nokia Photos but it gave the same error.
Can some1 pls suggest wat to do.....

Wondering if you found a fix for this problem. My nokia photo's will not sync either (even though the n95 is connected.) is it possible my lifeblog files got corrupted on my phone because everything from when I got the phone is in lifeblog on the n95? Is there any other way to tranfer the data to nokia photo's maybe a work around? in my event log it states:
"The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( Nokia Photos ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Synchronization failed.
    Exeption type:
    Nokia.NokiaPhotos.ClassLibrary.MPlatformException
    Exception message:
External component has thrown an exception."
on my old computer everything worked fine, lifeblog synced and there was no missing driver errors. I updated the time line and marked everything as favorites...tried to install dpinst.exe from the pc connectivity folder and there is a driver failed ton install error. I'm at the end of my rope. Any help would be greatly aprreciated.

  • Photos taken from my nokia 5800 cannot be viewed o...

    Good day!
I am having some trouble viewing some of my photos taken from my 5800.  recently, i took some pictures using my phone and then copied them to my laptop. the troubles began when i cannot acces all the recent photos that i took. when i use microsoft picture viewer and even microsoft paint, the photos cannot be viewed. instead, a message "this file is not supported. can be opened using another program." appears.
i have not encountered such problems before when i had a nokia 6500. could you please help me how to work through this problem as soon as possible?
    thanks!

What is the file extension of the photos that you have transferred. I haven't faced this issue with my Nokia 5800. Try transferring again coz if it's JPEG then you should be able to view them easily. May be they are corrupted.

I cannot open my photos in my CS6 product.  I can see the photos at the bottom of my sdcreen, but when I try to open one, I see the little blue circulating circle for about three seconds, then it changes to a plus sign, and nothing else happens.

Which Creative Suite 6 software title in specific are you referring too?

i cannot open iphoto- the message I am getting says Shut down and restart your computer, and then open iPhoto again. If the problem persists, try rebuilding your photo library. To do this, quit iPhoto, and then reopen it while keeping the Option and Command-
I tries and it doesnt work!!

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

such as your platform (Mac or Win),
exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CS6", but something like CS6v.13.0.6) and of Bridge,

machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,
what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far,
    what error message(s) you receive,
if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
A screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too,
    etc.,
someone may be able to help you (not necessarily this poster, who is not a Windows user).
