Nokia 'push' email no longer pushing after service...

Had my e71 for a couple of weeks and i was quite happy, then i recived an email from nokia telling me they were updating my service and unless i re-entered my email password in email settings i would no longer get my emails pushed to my phone. I followed the instructions to the letter re-entered my password, pressed 'back' and 'changes were saved' since then my emails are not being pushed to my phone! Why! Help! It was working perfectly before the 'service update' thanks in advance.

email sucked anyway.
@jamesds
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but for your opinion to be helpful to other users (which is what this discussion board is all about), could you at least substantiate your comment(s)? Also, you refer to (I presume Nokia Messaging) in the past tense, yet it is an active service.
@superdanx
I have been using Nokia Email/Messaging for the past 4 months, and have also found its push at times unreliable, but the last couple of weeks it has been exceptional, apart from the outage on Sunday for a few hours. Try adding another mailbox from a different provider to see if you experience the same problem.

my telus email no longer works after installing the new os Yosemite

This is a problem between Telus and Yosemite.  Telus, of course, blames Apple.
Check the box that says "Allow insecure authentication"  That will get your email working.
However, this box will get un-checked when you stop start Mac Mail.  The next time you start Mail, you'll have to re-check it for each Telus account.  (This is the bit that Apple needs to fix.)

  • IOS 8 Exchange Email no longer Pushes

Ever since I upgraded to iOS 8 on my iPhone 5 my exchange email has gone silent.  I no longer get emails pushed to my phone (whether on WiFi or LTE).  Instead, I have to open up the Mail application and it will then update with new emails.
I have reset the phone and checked the settings.  Nothing is different, but exchange emails do not push to my iPhone 5 any longer using iOS 8.
Is there a fix for this, or will this require a new release?

I am experiencing a similar symptom - with iOS8 on iPhone 6, I am having issues with Exchange push mail. I basically backed-up my old phone and restored to my new phone like the times I did it every time I got a new iPhone. It always worked fine up until now.
My work-around is to install the Microsoft OWA app, but I prefer using the native Mail app.
Anyone has any ideas? Of course, I'm sure most of us having this problem have already tried the entry-level troubleshooting steps such as:
    1. Resetting the phone
    2. Removing the account and adding it again
    3. Checked on settings to make sure it is set to 'Push'
It'll be helpful if someone can comment on this, hoping to find a solution!

  • Push email not working consistently  after 2.0 upgrade

Before 2.0, I was always notified on my iphone of new incoming email nearly instantly.
Since 2.0, I find myself only getting my email via my iphone if i manually check it. Otherwise, its rare now that im notified of new incoming email on my iphone.
Push will sometimes work, but very rarely.
    What gives?? Please help.

Thanks everyone for all the info. It was helpful, but I finally just called the Apple store and spoke with a genius and she talked me through.
I am using my .mac account, and all my settings are on Push and I am set for Every 30 Minutes.
I really have no reason to be opening my emails when I am working. Every once in a while I can check and if I have an email great if not no big deal.
I am a dog walker so all my clients either text or call me.
Thanks again everyone. I LOVE MY IPHONE.:)

  • Can I go back to 2.0 firmware? Push email no longer works!

I've seen several posts on this subject and I know it's a problem with 2.1 because my wife never updated and her email works great. Mine did too before the update.
Does anyone know if/how I can remove 2.1 and install 2.0?

    - Try to remove/readd your account
    - try to reset the phone with the front and top buttons 10 seconds
    - try settings > general > reset > reset all settings
    - try settings > general > reset > reset network settings
The older versions of firmware are even more glitchy. I would wait impatiently for an update.

  • Email no longer works after an iPad restore

I've tried reinstalling my two email accounts through Settings since doing a restore of my iPad 2, under iOS 7.1.2. I can no longer get either account to send or receive, despite many efforts. Internet works fine.
In both cases I have POP accounts (and please don't sidetrack this with remonstrations that I should use IMAP). One is Gmail and the other is a local provider. They used to work, they don't now.
One thing that has changed is that, as I understand it, Gmail POP accounts can no longer be set up through the "Exchange" option, as I was able to do three or so years ago. Instead I've seen it suggested that I set up the account through "Other". The "Google" setting appears to be for IMAP accounts only.
I've been unable to find clear instructions through Google's help. So far the Google Accounts Team has offered me only generic config settings — not specific to Mail — that don't solve the problem. Ideally there would be definitive screen-by-screen instructions somewhere but I haven't any that work for me.
    Please help!

App opens to blank screen, the borders of the different sections are there.  stays for 10 seconds or do then crashes to the home screen.
interesting note I was trying to send an email with 22 photos before this started happennig(app crashed then as well)
    closed the app
    restarted
    home/lock reset
tried all of the above multiple times
i was able to send an email from pdf expert no problem just now, just for kicks and it was recieved and I got a notification that it was recieved.

  • S4 Sync settings for email no longer available after update

After the Verizon Galaxy S4 Kit Kat update: I can no longer sync my email accounts. I get a "email sync turned off" message. when I go to the SYNC settings (stttings-accounts-email-settings-account settings-sync settings) there is NO option to turn sync setting back "ON"

Hello hdlane, let's get to the bottom of this together! To turn on sync settings for email, scroll down from the top of the home screen. At the top right there is a button with three squares & two arrows facing in opposite directions. This is the "More Settings" section. Press this option and it iwill open a list. Near the bottom of the list turn on sync and the emails will update.

  • HTML eMail no longer works after change from 8100 to 8310

    Hello all,
I have a Pearl 8100, which I upgraded successfully to version 4.5. Then I could receive and read HTML eMail, very nice.
Now I got a Curve 8310 which I also upgraded to 4.5 supporting HTML eMail. In BIS I changed the PIN and IMEI numbers and the new device was registered.
Now when I set eMail format to HTML and receive an HTML eMail, it only shows some lines (in nice new HTML) or even nothing and a hint, that more data is available with the number of bytes left. If I select the "More" option on the device, a transfer of data starts, showing that the Curve receives more data. Then the More-Data-Hint shows that only still one byte more is available, but the message still looks the same, showing only the first lines or even nothing. Repeating getting more data does not help. Seems the device has some problem parsing the data.
    What I already tried:
    - Hard reset of the device
    - Delete all service books
    - Resend service books from BIS
    - Enable/Disable HTML mail on device
    None of them helped.
Network is German Vodafone. Both devices (Pearl and Curve) run Vodafone software.
By the way: If I switch to text mode, I can see the whole message, but of course unformatted in the old format. Switching back to HTML again shows only part of the message or nothing.
Does anyone have an idea what happened? Or who can I ask? There is no support hotline for private people on blackberry site.
    Thanks in advance.
    Joerg.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You can't delete the whole account, just the BIS email accounts.
In this order, After deleting them, also delete the service books on your BB.
Reboot the BB, (battery out, replace and reboot).
Look and confirm the SBs are gone.
Now, reset up the email accounts in the BIS, and send the SBs again if needed.
You should get new registration messages on the BB... and you might need to do a battery bpull reboot again.
This process, in this order, will assure you get the NEW service books, rather than just writing over old ones.

  • Exchange Email No Longer Working After 4.3 Upgrade

Has anyone else experienced this? From the moment I upgraded my iPod to 4.3 I can no longer open my Exchange mailbox or contacts and calendars.
I've tried deleting and adding the account again and it appears to accept my details (it validates and creates the account) but as soon as I go into the mailbox I get 'Cannot Get Mail', 'The connection to the server failed'.
I'm the IT system admin at our company so I know that nothing is blocking or set up incorrectly, especially as this only happened from the moment I upgraded.
Does anyone know how to clear certificates on the iPod, this is my only other idea.

You're not alone, we're having exactly the same problem, see this thread over here http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=13197799. Exchange profiles with certs broken by the iOS 4.2 to 4.3 upgrade.

  • Nokia Messaging push email not working

Hey, i am using a Nokia C3, already subscribed to a nokia messaging service through the operator. Using communities, mail and chat are all ok, except the push email. The push email is not working, sometimes it works, but mostly its not working. I tested to send email from my PC and the email never arrive on my phone. But when i open the mail application and synch, the email will be there. So, the push mail is not working. I set it up correctly i guess, i already set the settings to 'follow my account setting' and the account setting update inbox 'very fast'.
When first using this phone i use an "A" operator, subscribed to nokia messaging service, and then register the email in the mail application. Several week ago i changed to operator "B", and already removed the email and re-adding again. Any solution? Thanks before..

now the both function is working fine in my phone. space bar light and nokia messaging ( push email ) the thing is once it go for low battery profile mode. after that i charge my batter full also my push email will not work. once phone got restarted then it will start works. if my active power saver mode then if we charge my phone also it will not work even in full charge i need restart. before my phone got power saver mode my push email is working fine. once it go for active power saver mode then we charge full also push email will not work. again i need to restart my phone. for this issue what has to be done ? can any one suggects me regarding the same

  • Push email not working after ios8 update

I have updated my iPad air and my iPhone 5 to ios8.
Both devices have the same email accounts.
The ipad email push works fine after the update on all accounts.
But, on the iPhone I do not get email update for hours unless I physically go into the email app.
Is there a fix for this issue? I have tried everything from deleting and re-establishing the accounts. This happened on ios6 and 7.
Come on Apple, get with the program!
    Vern

I have the same issue with my iPhone 6 plus. My email no longer pushes with the Mail app. I have to fetch it. What's going on Apple?

  • TS3899 Push email from AOL not working since IOS7.1 update?

As usual updated all idevices once notification received, only problem is my AOL email no longer pushes the data and I no longer receive notifications of new mail until it is "fetched" either by a timed fetch or by opening the mail app.
This applies to all my devices iPad Air, iPhone 5s and iPad mini.
    Annoying!
Tried resetting the account and playing with the push and fetch settings, currently set to push with fetch set to 15 minutes.

AOL still not working, but reading the comments looks like the finger of blame is pointing towards AOL and probably just a coincedence it happened around the same time as the IOS7.1.1 update.
So far I have had to put up with cancelling the push option and relying upon a fetch scheduled for every 15mins. will have to see how that goes.
    Anyone contacted AOL?

  • Nokia E7 - Push Email Not Working

I have recently upgraded to a Nokia E7 from a Nokia E72 and I am now experiencing push email problems?
I configured my Gmail account on my E72 in seconds and the push email worked beautifully and I received mail within 30 seconds of it being sent to my email address. I tested this myself!
So why is there such an issue getting push email to work on my E7? I imagined it would be easier and better, but I have been mistaken.
Is there any way at all to correct this problem? Mail only comes through when I manually sync, but this is frustrating!!
    Any help will be appreciated!!

I am also experiencing issues with Nokia messaging since Anna update. Prior to this it was working fine with Symbian^3 making me feel happy for upgrading from E72
But this joy didn't last for much time as I discovered immediately after updating to Anna that mail isn't working anymore. I eagerly upgraded to Anna as soon is it is available on 18th Aug but since then I wasn't able to receive or send mails from the accounts that are already configured. Having waited for about more than week anticipating some quick app update to fix the issue I tried deleting and adding the accounts again. Since then I repeatedly see a error message that "Cannot enable the mail service that allows you to fully experience your favourite providers because connection to the mail server is not possible with the settings provided.
Select 'Next' to set up mailbox without this service. You can attempt to connect to the server by adjusting the mailbox settings later."
Status remains same even after resetting the device completely for seven times and Nokia care has advised me to reinstall Anna firmware using OVI suite from a PC rather than using OTA update. However I haven't had any luck and the issue continues.
Though this seems to be a pain all the early adopters of Anna on E7, N8 and C7 are in, there isn't still an acknowledgement from Nokia to our pity. Seems that they are helping their competitors rather than the customers by forcing them to jump the ship.

  • Nokia Push Email Problems

I am using Nokia E63, where i have downloaded Nokia Push Email software from Nokia Email Website, after downloading i am trying to configure my Gmail Email A/c but i am not able to configure it, and it give error message or it hacks my phone.
GPRS on my phone is working, and i am able to visit other site also on my E63.
please help me to solve my problem as i want to urgenly configure and access my email on my E63.
    Thanks
    Dharmang Shah

I'm sure someone can help you better than I can, but I will say that I do have Nokia Messaging working well with Gmail on my E63---but over 3G.  It never seems to work that well when all I get is a GPRS connection.  But this may be my network (3 UK) which highly depreciates all non 3G traffic.  I don't know.  (You do get data, right?  I mean you can browse the web over your connection?) If I remember right, I can get it to work over WiFi as well.  Push email doens't work so well in this case, since I wouldn't normally stay always in WiFi range, so it's not a long term solution.  But getting anything to work with your Gmail account is a start.
I suspect by Nokia Push email you mean "Nokia Messaging" (which is probably what you want) and not "Mail for Exchange" (which is probably not what you want) , but you don't specify.  I would say:  spend some time googling for good instructions.  Try them carefully (again), and then report back exactly what you did, what you expected and what in fact happened.  You request is at the moment too inspecific for anyone to offer anything but the most vague of suggestions.

  • After upgrading to mountain lion e-mail no longer pushes to my i-Phone

after upgrading to mountain lion e-mail no longer pushes to my i-Phone I have to launch the mail app on phone to retrieve mail now

The OS on your Mac has nothing to do with behavior of email on your iPhone. The only thing I can imagine is that Mail on your Mac may be receiving messages and marking them as "read" before your iPhone has a chance to receive them. What kind of email account are you talking about here!
