Dear nokia authority i like to draw the kind attention over the device web browser,in my handset 6630 only web browser that has been pre-defined in handset is not capable to load web/wap pages through wap browser.Nokia is a world's leading cell phone manufacturer not yet helping us with a speedy browser.There is no recommendation by nokia to use 3rd party browser,so how client holding nokia will browse web pages.So nokia should arrange a good speedy browser for s60v2 device.Thanks,malaker

It doesn't matter if you agree or not, it's the facts.
Series 40 phones are a totally different range of models as it's a different operating system. Just like S60 there has been many versions of series 40, the current version is S40v5 FP1.
S60v2 reached the end of it's life long ago and you will see no further official development for it. S60 is currently on S60v3 FP1 with S60v3 FP2 devices about to be released and S60v5 devices to be released later in the year.

have you checked via nokia Suite on your PC if there are any fimrware updates available for your device? if there are any, please updaet to the latest version offered. failing that, you can try performing the hard reset on the device, but please backup all personal data as this reset wipes everything.

Improvements for nokia s40v5 devices

Hi I was just thinking... I think this is a good idea for nokia and nokia users...
So here's what i mean... all of us have nokia phones right? some of us has nokia phones that runs the nokia s40v5 operating system right?so i was jus thinking...for the upcoming firmware updates for them, can you add some brand new features like "HomeScreen" which s40v6 has and s40v3 has it... why s40v5 doesn't come with active standby or homescreen?
here's another feature that you guys may like. In music player themes, instead of default music player themes installed on the phone like black, squares, sound waves, and some music player themes, the music player theme/background will be get in the themes (the .nth file)not in the mobile phone itself.
Another feature that you guys may like is the new gallery, just like the one's in nokia c1-01 and nokia c3-00.
Another one is the facebook client just like in nokia c3-00, x2-01.
another one is smart dialing, which is just like when you typpe 5555, the phone will say that's mom's number(09165555882).
Another one is the improved video recording... Instead of QCIF (176x144) resolution, use QVGA(320x240) or VGA(640x480) recording resolutions at 15fps and recording it with a mp4 codec... The video recording will result in crystal clear shots!!!
The one and the most important features that the s40 phones should get is multitasking... Yes you heard it right, multitasking. Just like in smartphones, nokia s40v5 devices should get multitasking. But always there's should be a limit to prevent the phone to crash although almost all nokia s40v5 phones has only 2.1mb of RAM(according to memoryUP pro application)...
If it's still possible, by only software update, the RAM may be increased for just like 10mb or more (phone memory will be used although we got memory cards right???)
what do you think guys and nokia developers, what do you think??? is this a cool idea???

Unfortunately S40v5 won't be gaining any of the major features found in S40v6 models. Time has moved on so if you want the features found in S40v6 devices you will need to buy one.
You are welcome to start a new thread giving suggestions about what you think should be added to the current (S60v6) or future operating systems.

HTML set as string open in device browser, not in internal webkit

I have the stupidest AIR bug here on iOS. HTML set as string to StageWebView now open in the device browser with URL like this http://adobe.13323422.apollo.air/
It only happens on the device (iPhone's or iPad's), not in the simulator. Anyone?

I also have this issue. The documentation on LOCATION_CHANGING clearly states:

A locationChanging event is not dispatched when you change the location with the following methods:
historyBack()
historyForward()
loadString()
loadURL()
reload()
That isn't true. I'm also using loadString() and I get a new Safari with the same "adobe.[numbers].apollo.air/ " as a location. This doesn't seem to be an issue with OS5.x but once I updated to OS6 this now happens. This happens on AIR3.4 and AIR3.5.

Update Nokia C700 device software using Ovi Suite ...

Hi,
I succeeded to connect to my Nokia C700 Device in Nokia Ovi Suite mode via USB and now when I try to update device software the Ovi Suite notifies that there is some Network Connection Problem while no firewall and network on Windows XP machine works ok.

Does anybody know what is the problem , how to fix so I can update my Nokia C700 device ?

Yes , I tryed already to update later but I get the same error - "Network Connection Error..." in the Ovi Suite when attempting to update device software.
I have stable PPPoE Internet connection.
The Windows Firewall on the machine is on but Nokia Ovi Suite is in firewall exceptions list.The Antivirus is off on the machine.
2)
Now I have another issue. After I restart Nokia Ovi Suite I get a message "An important update for Nokia Ovi Suite has been downloaded ... " with 2 options - install or exit. After I press install I get next error while still connected to Internet as in previous : "Internal error..."

Nokia 5800 Web browser not reponding

Hi Guys,
I'm having this problem where the Nokia 5800 Web Browser hangs the phone. It shows the first page of any address properly, but doesn't navigate to any links from the page, not even simple google search is working.
Is anybody facing this problem, please help. I have updated my firmware to v20 also.

i add information: this only happens with the browser connected via WLAN. until today, i couldn't install the opera mini browser from mini.opera.com page. today i connected via 3g and downloaded and installed opera mini without a problem. and about this: with opera browser seems to happen the same... the program asks me twice about the connection (i choose always "internet", with mi WLAN name) and the hangs in "connecting"...
so, viewing the evidences, it seems to be some kind of problem with the WLAN....
ah, one more thing to note: the phone was connected to the battery charger this last time i tried opera.
my settings in the default nokia browser are: connection: internet
and the settings in settings->conectivity are:
settings->conectivity -> destination-> internet i have the acces point of my home (priority 1) and my provider(priority 2)
settings->conectivity -> WLAN -> settings -> show avail : yes
settings->conectivity -> WLAN -> settings -> search network : 5 min
settings->conectivity -> WLAN -> settings -> test connec: never
yes, the two browsers works fine with 3g internet (now i installed gmail, the application downloaded from his site)
bad, i need a solution for this... the WLAN was one of the things i was most interested about this phone... :'(

Nokia 5800 - UC Browser

Hi all, I have found this great browser for my Nokia 5800 phone called UC browser I have been using it for quite some time and as you use it you find it knocks spots off the built in browser thats on my Nokia 5800. The pages all display correctly and fit into the display (especially when holding the phone vertical upright as opposed to horizontal landscape) but whenever I want to open up something the phone always insists on opening the link in the Nokia built in browser instead of the UC browser so if anyone ever has a fix for this will they please let me know please?

I guess both opera and uc compress webpages .However I personally prefer opera mini since it gives you truly desktop like page rendering and upto 90% compression which saves data costs.

I had a similar issue with Photoshop when I upgraded to both Snow Leopard and Lion. it turned out to be Rosetta is no longer present in the newer OS. Once I upgraded to Lion, Appleworks stopped working after all these years.

Flash player problem for nokia belle devices

hey nokia family..
i am a user of nokia n8 and that is my favourite cell phone but now there is no update available for nokia belle devices and these devices do not support adobe flash player any more, even 808 pure view is one of the new devices by nokia but it is also unable to stream videos over net, so this is a request to nokia family that please do not forget his old customers and belle users and please give an update for these devices..

Adobe are the ones who are in control of Flash for mobiles and they took the decision quite a long time ago to stop all support and development for Flash for all mobile devices.
You will not therefore be receiving any further support from anyone regarding Flash for your mobile devices.

Nokia 6630 web browser

My nokia 6630 web browser crashes down when attempting to open (www.mobango.com) I formatted the fone but it still doesn't help.I would like some advice abt the above problem.

Because the absent of this data indicates bigger issues, did you consider the Nokia Software Recovery Tool on a Windows computer already? If you are just about updating, did you consider the Nokia Suite already?

NOKIA 5800 WEB BROWSER HELP!

My web browser on my nokia 5800 does not work anymore. I go onto the web browser and the phone freezes and stops responding until the web browser can shut it self down. I am currently using the opera web browser available on the Ovi Store. I need help to get my web browser working again. Any advise?

You can discount a virus as a cause of your issues. If it wasn't for the loss of data involved, I would have suggested restoring your 5800XM to "factory settings" and re-formatting memory card, there is obviously corrupt data on your device/memory card.

I ask as I seem to have issues logging into secure site such as Twitter, and each time I have to use Opera Mini 6.1
If there is an update how can it be updated on the phone, can it be updated by using the software update option?

Nokia 5230 device update problem -

When i try and do a device update over the air on my 5230 I can get to the point where it trys to connect only to get told there is an invalid username and password error. IT IS DRIVING ME MAD! anyone any ideas?
