Unfortunately it is not unknown for network provider to give out incorrect code but your code should be in similar format to this as you mention:

You use repeated "*" presses to obtain "pw+", allowing about a second between repeated presses; once you have mastered it the first time there is no problem.
Note that there are only limited attempts at inputting this code before you are locked out.

I would like to create instructional videos on 'how to' for iPad.

I would like to create instructional videos for teachers on how to do various tasks on the iPad.
At the moment I have an iPad and a PC.
I have tired an App called 'DispRecorder' to get the capture from the iPad, but I am unable to find an app to add arrows as highlights. Any suggestions?
Am I going about this the wrong way? Is there are better way? Or are they apps that I cannot find.

With the wireless card in your Mac you can set up a network to which the iPhone can connect: obviously your Mac would have to be on for this to work. Or you could buy a wireless router such as the Airport Extreme, which might not be much more expensive, and use that to connect the iPhone. You could use an Airport Express, but you would need to already have a router so that there was a spare ethernet socket for it.

However note that it apparently only supports WEP encryption, which is far from secure, not WPA which is what you should be using.
Another factor is that if this is a Mac Pro, you may have problems installing the card. As I remember some models can be fitted with a card if ordered with it initially, but retro-fitting is difficult and really needs to be done by an engineer. Given all this I would suggest investigating the Airport Express, bearing in mind the issue of needing a router if you don't have one built into your modem.

Nokia Email (v 2.1.0) - how to update?!?

Hi All,
I have Nokia e52 with Nokia Email preinstalled.
In connections configuration I can not choose Destination Network, only Access Points appear in the list.
I have read on Nokia Messaging blog about this issue. It is fixed apparently.
I cannot install newest version of Nokia Email - I get error "Incompatible version found, uninstall first". But I can not install Nokia Email - I guess it is a part of firmware (it does NOT appear in applications manager).
I have just updated my firmware and problem still remains

I can't update my e-mail client via Nokia e52 internet browser.
I enter address email.nokia.com, click download link. The application Nokia Email 9.07 has downloaded. After this the suggesting message to install Nokia Email 9.07 appears. But error appears after my agreement - "An incompatible version of this product is detected, and has to be uninstalled first"
I have no possibility to uninstall detected Email, so I don't see any Email client in Application Manager.
Nokia developers, please, fix this bug as soon as possible

Open picture B, the one you wish to select the hair from to add to the picture.
Use one of the selection tools, e.g. selection brush, lasso tool, to select the hair. You will see an outline ("marching ants") once the selection is complete
Go to Edit menu>copy to copy the hair to the clipboard
Open picture A, then go to Edit>paste
Use the move tool to position the hair from picture B.
In the layers palette you should see picture A as the background layer, and the hair (B) on a separate layer.

You seem to be new to this software, so I highly recommend that you take some time to learn it using some great tutorials available online - it will pay off to invest the time, if you follow through, for example the great (and free) introductory tutorial at izzyvideo.com.
This is an amazing piece of software, and you'll have a lot to learn, but it's well worth it.

How to update the firmware of Nokia 5800 to v21
It is good news that firmware update for Nokia 5800 was released already. New firmware v.21 is available. If you also own a 5800, just follow the simple instruction to update your v20 or v10 to the newest v21.
Make sure that your battery is full (VERY IMPORTANT)
1. Go to Dial screen and press *#0000#
2. Press Options -> Check for updates
3. Connect to the Internet with any APN (WiFi is recommended, however EDGE is fast enough for this). 4. Wait until the download finished. Phone will launch the dialog asking for update, just press Now. 5. Press Accept and Accept and the phone will be switched to Updating mode.
6. It takes around 10 minutes to update, so be patient. After that, the phone will be rebooted automatically.
7. Check by *#0000# again. Congrats! Your 5800 is now v21!
As I can see, there are so many improvements and worth to update for example, better camera functionality and the phone operates faster than previous version.
Best Settings for Video Playback on Nokia 5800 Xpress Music
Nokia 5800 as the multimedia phones makes you able to enjoy watching the video and music with it. The question is, how’s to do to convert that videos and what are the best setting used for. I have convert many videos into my phone, I found that most video files can play with this phone such as mp4, 3gp, rmvb and flv files. But of them plays well but some are not. After many tries, I finally got the best results for Nokia video files. My video in 5800 was full screen, high quality and sounds very well. Here are my settings:
Video Resolution: 480*320
Video Bitrate: 768 kbps
Audio Bitrate: 128 kbps
Video Format: MPEG-4 (be sure not to use H264, as it’s not supported in the current firmware)
Audio Format: MP3
Audio Channels: 2 Channels
You can apply these settings above in whatever application you used when converting videos into 5800. Then I am sure you will get full screen, high quality and flawless video in your phone.
Settings for video playback on Nokia N97, N95, N85 and other Nokia phones.
Nokia N97: Video playback formats are 3GP formats, Flash Video, H.264/AVC, MPEG-4; the video resolution is 360*640. Audio formats are AAC, M4A, MP3, WAV, WMA etc.
Nokia N96: video playback formats are 3GP, Flash video, H.264/AVC, MPEG-4, RealVideo, WMV 9; the video resolution is 240*320. Audio formats are AAC, MP3, WAV, WMA etc.
Nokia N95: video playback formats are MP4, 3GP. Video resolution is up to 640*480, audio format is AAC stereo.
Nokia N85: video playback formats are 3GP formats, Flash video, H.264/AVC, MPEG-4, and WMV. The resolution is 240*320. The audio formats are AAC, M4A, MP3, WAV and WMA etc.

How to transfer video files into Nokia 5800
I have download some videos from video website such as Youtube, Google video. But I can’t watch these videos in my phone. As these videos were flv files, Nokia 5800 can’t play such videos. I use Internet Tablet Video Converter to convert it, but it shows “Unsupported Video File Type”. Then I got to know some best video converter that seems professional for Nokia phone, I free download its trial version and tried it, and it works very well. Below are what I do:
Click Add button to add video files from your computer, set your videos according to the above settings and select Nokia 5800 Video MPEG-4 format for your video. Then just click convert button to start the conversion. After the conversion complete, you may watch these videos with Nokia 5800.
Also you may get music from video in this way. But pay attention to the format. As Nokia 5800 support mp3 audio format, you should select “MP3 – MPEG Layer-3 Audio (*.mp3)”.
How to convert DVD files into Nokia 5800
Obviously phones don’t have DVD drives, so to watch DVD on a phone you have to convert it into a video file on your PC then drag it into your phone. I also follow the above settings and convert DVD files into MPEG-4 video with Daniusoft DVD Ripper. the results are excellent.
After insert your DVD into the DVD Drive click the Open DVD button to upload DVD files on to this program. Click Settings button to set your videos according to the above settings I listed. Click Profile drop list to select “Nokia 5800 Video MPEG-4 (*.mp4)” format for your Nokia video. Then click Convert button to start the conversion. In few minutes the whole process will completed.
If you select audio format “MP3 – MPEG Layer-3 Audio (*.mp3)” you may also get music from DVD.
To transfer files into Nokia 5800
In the above tutorial I have explain you how to convert Nokia videos from DVD and other video files. Then you need to transfer these videos into your phone.
1. Make sure your computer and phone are both switched on. Also make sure your 5800 have a memory card in its slot.
2. Plug the small end of the microUSB cable into the phone’s USB socket, which s under a plastic flap in the top left corner.
3. Plug the larger end of the microUSB cable into a USB port on your computer.
4. On your 5800 it should ask which mode you wish to use. Choose “Mass Storage”.
5. Open the memory card window (probably called “Removable Disk E:”), drag your video files into the video folder.
6. After finished transfer files, do not disconnect the cable yet. You should make it safe to disconnect the cable. You may do this by click a small icon in the bottom right corner of the screen that appears when the phone is connected.
7. After you have made the device safe to remove, you can unplug the cable at both ends.
Some useful tips to make the Nokia 5800's battery last as long as possible
Sometimes you may have to stop talking with your friend or watching videos with your phone as low power of your battery. It is more inconvenient if you are in travel and have no alternative battery. Here are some tips to make your phone battery last as long as possible when using telephone.
Do not switch the phone off. As switching a phone on uses far more battery power than simply leaving the phone on.
Shut down unnecessary applications.
Turn down the 5800’s screen brightness to the lowest acceptable level.
Switch off your 5800’s screen when not in use.
Use headphones instead of speakers when listening to music or watching movies.
Avoid using the camera flash unnecessarily.
Use 2G instead of 3G.
Switch off Bluetooth and/or Wi-Fi.'

I think I am following -- I was able to upload to my iPhoto and all photos and videos are there that is a plus! I tried to create an Event in my iPhoto and put all of my photos in that event but for some reason, now my iTunes it not recognizing that Event in my iPhoto. It is not allowing me to import just that event at the moment but I may be doing something wrong. At least all of my pics and vids are in iPhoto so that is a plus and I know they are at least saved somewhere. Just for some reason, my iTunes it not locating the event that I created with only those photos.

TV series missing from Videos App?

Several months ago I purchased several TV series using my iPad and downloaded them all. My iPad has not been synced to my computer, ever, nor do I use home sharing. I experienced no problems until tonight, when I went to watch one. The rest of my TV series were there, except the one I was planning to watch. I went to redownload it from iTunes, but iTunes said that I had already downloaded the shows. I went into settings and deleted the series and began redownloading it - however, it still does not display with my other shows in the Videos app.

How did you delete the series so that you could re-download it ?
Have you got a TV programme age rating set in Settings > General > Restrictions that is hiding it ? If not then try closing the Videos app completely and see if the series shows when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Videos app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Videso app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Nokia c2-03 online video streaming problem ...:(

I have purchased new nokia c2-03, and i thought the phone would b awesome as its a nokia product. But this phone disappointed me a lot. The phone has good features being a low cost phone. But the main problem is it can't stream online videos. Its very strange to belive, i never thought that NOKIA could b so careless please nokia solve this streaming problem in next firmware update..

I Am Sorry. In fact had the DST setting to + 1:0 and I changed to 12:0 am; As the clock time was delayed, because in Portugal we are indeed in summer time!, I changed the time directly. Unfortunately the reminders remain with an hour of advance. The alarm clock that is set crescento for 7:15 minutes as the set initially and never changed. The first reminder has been set for the 7:15 but is now changed to 6:15 due to this error. Does anyone have any suggestions other than modify all reminders. I would add that the Firmware of the Nokia C2 03 est actualized to a V7.48.

Lamentavelmente os lembretes continuam com uma hora de avanço.
A crescento que o despertador está definido para as 7:15 minutos como o defini inicialmente e nunca sofreu alterações. O primeiro lembrete foi definido para as 7:15 mas está alterado para as 6:15 devido a este erro.
Será que alguém tem alguma sugestão que não seja modificar todos os lembretes.
Acrescento que o Firmware do Nokia C2 03 está actualizado para a V7.48.

Nokia C3-01 broken video file

Hello!
Yesterday I recorded a fun video with my friends and as soon as I stopped recording, an error showed up but I didn't really care because I was talking to my friends. Later that day I wanted to see the video but then instead of having 1 3GP file, I had a 3GP file that has 1 kB and a SWP file that has 69,8 MB (I guess that's the real video?). When I try to open the 3GP or SWP, it says "File format not supported".

But nobody answered that message.. Can anyone help me please? I'd be really really sad if I lost the video. (Excuse me for my English, I'm Czech)

You didn't say what the error message was, but I would guess that the video file has not saved properly. The videos taken by your phone would be in 3GP format. SWP files are normally "swap files", temorary files used by some operating systems to store data temparily, I didn't know that Nokia Series 40 phones did this with video.
I'm guessing the video was stored temporarily in the SWP file then when you ended the recording it created the 3GP file to finalise the data but was not able to complete it. Your phone is trying to read the 3GP file but there is no data in it.
Media players in your PC will not recognise the SWP file extension because it is not a recognised video file type. Try making a copy of the SWP file in your PC and rename the copy by changing the SWP extension to 3GP, then try to play it again to see if it works. Try VLC Media Player, generally speaking it is the best at playing damaged files. If it can't read your file, maybe nothing will.

Nokia Series 40 SDK, preverify error

When making my first project with JBuilder9 and Nokia Developer's Suite 2.2 for J2ME && Nokia Series 40 SDK, such an error appears:
ERROR: floating-point arguments should not appear
Error preverifying class java.lang.String
However I dont use any floating-point arguments, there are used in java.lang.String,
as I see.
So how can I solve this problem?

the same problem... how can i configure it there ?I had the same problem, but, when I turned on the built-in preverifier, the error dissapeared. What confuses me most is the fact that the error appeared suddenly after adding j2me-ws.jar to the build path and persisted even after I removed it from the class path.
