Nokia Service Suck in Singapore

Brought Nokia N82 for less then a week & the Phone Hang.
Not able to start any programme & switch Off Handphone.
Send the Phone to nokia service & till now it not ready
Reason they give is the Phone part is damage & they need to replace a new one + checking.
it been 3 weeks. 3 weeks.... Why can't they just change a new set for me. I can return them all the boxes & accessories inside the box when i brought it.
Still thinking why I m buying a phone that I cannot use..
No back-up phone for me still. Still need to fork out $$$ to buy another phone to use...

3 - 4 weeks is normal for Nokia Service.
Owned: Nokia 3510i, Nokia 3120, Nokia 6230i, Nokia 6233, Nokia N73, Nokia N82.
Current: Nokia N900!

  • Beware!! Nokia technical support in Singapore can ...

I just purchased my unlocked Nokia E71 3 weeks ago ($300. plus) and have gotten horrible service with all 3 levels of Nokia technical support in Singapore. They were completely inept of assisting syncing Nokia e71 with Mac, though Nokia's website claims that this is possible with their necessary 'plugins' downloaded off their website.
My experience was that a Level 3 tech support in Singapore told me to trash my 'isync application'.. when he really meant to say to 'trash the Nokia isync plugin' and download/reinstall. Well... after trashing my isync application as I was told, I no longer had it on my Mac and without it there would be no syncing of ANYTHING, even with Nokia's plugin download. I even verbally second guessed the guy on this but he assured me that thrashing the 'application' was the only way to get the syncing to work.
Now the only way to get my isync back is to uninstall/reinstall all my software and reboot all Apple utilities.. like when i first purchased my computer. At this time this is not an option for me until i go to my other residence in England where i have my software, i'm in the USA now. I tried to restore my isync from my time machine, but now I believe it is corrupted as I cannot synchronize contacts or calendars with this restored isync application. I'm assuming i have to sit tight until i get back to England to do a proper reinstall.
While I was trying to figure out this whole mess I would call Nokia tech support for advise and they would say it was Apple problem and when I called Apple Care they would say it was Nokia's fault. Actually just yesterday a Nokia Level 3 tech support named Chris in Singapore asked me AGAIN to trash my isync application, because he said it was too new of a version and i needed to download an older version from Nokia's website, knowingly.. i knew he meant the Nokia isync plugin and not the isync app!! What is wrong with these people- where are they being trained!
I just hope when i get to England and uninstall/reinstall all my Mac's hardware, I can isync my E71. It seems ridiculous to have such an expensive phone if I can't to this and also the implication would mean Nokia is fraudulently advertising their mobiles to Mac users.
On another note Apple needs to get together for us international dwellers.. to be able to purchase authorized unlocked iphones.
So BEWARE of Nokia technical support if you are a Mac user.
    Best luck.

synth_fg:  come again??  I'm confused on what u r asking??  Do u have any clue or idea of how I can get my isync restored without doing the Utilities Disk uninstall/reinstall, if so i'd like 2 know?
I've got isync 'restored' on my Mac right now from Time Machine but it appears it got corrupted...i can't make it work and i get this message (below) as if it is not completely 'restored' completely.  Apple Care said that corruption must've happen when i trashed it... which was the request of the Nokia tech support...

Synchronization of the following data is disabled on your phone: Contacts. Please enable them on your phone, or disable them in iSync.
     Device synchronization failed.
What I figure is I need to restore the Utilities disk when i get back to London.  Hopefully then my isync software application will work/sync with my new E71.  If not then i'll know it's a problem with the mobile.

  • NOKIA SERVICE AND CLUB NOKIA

For anyone dealing with a nokia service centre or having a phone in for repair, here is some advice..Join club nokia and you will get so much more information than you would otherwise.
My local NSC told me that nokia had my phone in for level 5 repair and all they would say is we cant tell you anything more than that (that was nearly 3 weeks ago), so since joining club nokia, I have discovered quite a bit of info that I would not otherwise have discovered, stuff like, the nsc had my phone for a week before even bothering to send it off to Nokias level 5 hub, I also now have a tracking number for my phone and can find out exactly where my phone is at anytime during the repair process, I know what has been done to it and when it is coming back.
I may owe Nokia an appology for my rabid typing, however,a weak link like my poor nsc dont do them any favours.
    lesson learnt...JOIN CLUB NOKIA

  • Nokia Service Layer issue with NSU

Well i have just installed NSU and ran it for the first time and this is the error message i am getting while the splash screen is displayed.
"Nokia Service Layer Host Process has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
    everytime i get this.
I've seen the topic about an "internal error" and tried the dll fix but that didn't work.
    any suggestions?

turned out it was my firewall which was preventing the application to connect to the net to check for anything.
i turned off zonealarm but somehow it still locked it out so i had to keep zonealarm running and give the NSU access when it ran.
Kinda strange that zonealarm locked it when the firewall wasn't running but its fixed now.

  • Nokia service layer host process has stopped worki...

    Hello,
When i try to update my Nokia E90... i get the following error -
Nokia service layer host process has stopped working
I tried everything... Reinstalling pc suite and Software Updater, but still same problem
    Please help me
    Thanks

i had exactly the same problem while updating using the latest NSU on Windows Vista with SP1.
I guess there is some compatibility problems between the latest version of NSU and Vista.
I tried with Windows XP SP2 and the latest version of NSU, i was able to update my E90 to the firmware version - 200.34.73
In case, you are using XP, I would suggest you uninstall NSU as per the FAQ in Nokia web site and reinstall the latest version.
Please let me know if this helps.

No clues as to where you are to know whether visiting Nokia Care facility would be appropriate, whom could easily update device for you.

    Hi sufarmult,
When you start up Nokia Suite, remove your phone from the My phones list.  You can find the setting at Tools > Options > My phones. After this, close and restart Nokia Suite and connect your phone to it. Now the update file should start downloading from the very beginning. Make sure that your internet connection is stable and make sure that other applications are not using the internet at the same time (just as a  precaution).

  • UK Nokia Service Centre

I have phoned the 4 nearest Nokia service centres (up to 50 miles away!) and NONE of them say they can do the firmware upgrade on the Nokia N70, the excuses are either they don't have the hardware or don't have the firmware file. What is going on? How far am I supposed to travel to get my Nokia serviced?

    Hi Guys!
If you get stuck for a Service Point in your area, you can visit this page: Service Point Locator. Now I know many of you will have already looked here, I posted the page because there is a link there that opens a pop up containing instructions for a Freepost repair Service.
Basically, the Freepost service details can be found here: Freepost service. If you fill out the form and post the phone off they will be able to take a look for you.
There is a phone number listed there, it would be a good idea for anyone using this service to give them a quick ring prior to sending the phone just so they know its coming. Also, you will need to print out the returns form.
    Cheers
    Karim

  • Nokia Software Sucks!! :-((

I Was having problems with my Old 6670 connecting via PC Suite so I Bought a new Nokia 3110 Classic, Nokia PC Suite hangs after 40% won't carry on. I Got hold of the PC Suite Cleaner Application in the NOKIA USA site (Wasn't available in European Nokia Site, Bad Link. Suck Point #1)
Ran the cleaner, tried to re-install PC-Suite again still no luck, get's to 40% then Waits forever. Suck Point # 2 Formatted PC and re-loaded all programs took a whole Damn weekend. Tried again still no NOKIA Install Suck Point # 3. Downloaded latest PC-Suite version 6.86.9.0 Still gets to 23% and hangs forever, No Error Messages, Zip ,NADA , Nothing. Tried Nokia PC-Suite Cleaner again supposedley it worked (Who Knows?)Try Install again 23% Hangs. This sucks, New Phone didn't come with CD or Memory Card. Still have a phone and can't use it.
Anyone have any ideas or should I Junk it and get away from Nokia after being loyal (But Dumb) user for 10 Years ??
Oh By the Way. Windows XP Pro SP2a, 4Gb RAM, 750Gb HDD Space 3.2 Core2Duo CPU, Gigabyte Board.

    Hi,
    See this (and try those):
    /discussions/board/message?board.id=pcsuite&message.id=16560
    Does it help?
Hi Miksu. I Have run the Nokia PC Suite Cleaner so many times, still no luck, I Have also tried disabling AVG and Super Anti Spyware before I did the PC-Suite Install, all with no luck. The Only piece of Software that actually works is the DKU Driver software, that loads fine and it sees the 3110c but when I go into USB Data Mode it says 'No Memory Card installed?' Why can't it load into the Phones memory? I Didn't get a Memory card with this 3110c. I also tried sending the files from Windows Media Player but I click send and nothing happens either on the PC side or the Nokia device side. All I want is to get the Custom ringtones and Themes from my old 6670. The 6670 when I try and send the Files as attachments says that the Custom MP3 ringtones are copyrighted and cant send them. **bleep**. I made the damn things so How can they be copyrighted. It's a nightmare, every which way I turn I cant get it resolved. From the Gallery the Manual says you can click Send, to send the Data by Blue tooth but there is no Send in the Options, again screwed by Nokia. I am so damn frustrated.

  • 6680 reflashed by Nokia service centre..now wont p...

I had my 6680 reflashed to put latest firmware on by a Nokia service centre in the West Midlands. When I picked the phone up they said they had had software problems and the flash had gone wrong. Now my phone wont power up at all. Before I send it back for a warranty replacement, is there anything I can try to get it back up and running ?

I don't think there's anything you can do. IMO, they shouldn't have returned a device they knew they failed to update properly. You have to have it repaired or replaced by that or some other service center.

  • Syncing contacts with Nokia Services Issue...

    Hello
I own a N9 for some time but lately I have some problems with it.
I always get contacts double/tripeld on my phone after syncing with Nokia contacts.
It Looks like it just ignore the changes I made on my phone and downloads the old contacts on the server.
    Example:
Mr.X with phone number 1234 is already synced. I change the Number to 4321 and hit sync NOkia again
then I have two Mr. X on my phone:
    Mr. X ... 1234
    Mr. X ... 4321
It looks as i can only download the information from the server but not update the information already there.
    this is really annoying..
    what can I do?
Is this still an issue if you syn with another account ?
    (eg. Microsoft LIVE, Google ?)
Hope somebody can give me some advice
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

if you are using the ovi.com, i would suggest you get your contacts squared away and sync them elsewhere, that is going to be deleted soon, if not already.
i had issues syncing my data with nokia services for the longest time. it was good, then they "fixed" the nokia suite and it wasnt....then there was ovi suite and that botched them all too.
i used to sync directly to my outlook with the 9500, and then through my other devices until ovi suite when i grew tired of the challenges with the contacts.
eventually, i ended up signing up with office365 to get an exchange account for $5/mo.
i think that the devs for the software products only use thier nokia exchange accounts when testing, which goes around the issues that we have had.
i would create either a google account and sync there, or if you want to also sync directly to an outlook, create a live/hotmail/outlook.com email address and then download the hotmail connector application for your pc, and then it will sync your wireless devices and outlook like a free exchange server and sync contacts/calendar/email.
if you go that route, you can get the hotmail connector here: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/microsoft-office-outlook-hotmail-connector-overview-HA0102...
